Here is the guy who believes in something [bitcoin].
M. Saylor talks with P. Diamandis (not sure if it was posted before or not):

TL;DR a bit of a $10 mil/per sweet hopium, but it is much more...enjoy.

Some renovation bills are coming up....maybe sell some bitcoin?
....naah.

But can you resist the temptation to sell some to get these high fashion trousers?

haha...tempting, but i am literally too old for this "stuff", albeit I used to be skinny like that...way back.

@jjg..just say no to batslapping  Cheesy

@JJG..I have no clue what you are talking about (at least in my direction), but, again, this situation is pretty typical.

Some renovation bills are coming up....maybe sell some bitcoin?
....naah.

Have you fellas seen this?
Is stage 2 of deleveraging about to commence?

https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/11/02/divisions-in-sam-bankman-frieds-crypto-empire-blur-on-his-trading-titan-alamedas-balance-sheet/

https://news.yahoo.com/binance-sell-rest-ftx-token-165514765.html

Granted, they are talking mostly about "crypto', but nobody actually knows if bitcoin is among the assets Alameda holds.
The fact is that MOST of Alameda assets are in their sister/parent company token (FTT) and they lent out 7.4 bil $ worth based on that value (and unspecified "crypto", which in part may or may not be bitcoin).

TL;DR "Due to recent revelations that have came to light"...It seems that SBF is under pressure.

Bitcoin is definitely a communal property, but it is unique with some interesting complications.

For example, if you communicate the private key to the second party (wife, husband, gf, bf), then you basically relinquish the property and rely on their honesty, which is fine, but we all know how contentious breakups sometimes are.

If, on the other hand, you don't communicate the private key, then the other party has no ways to participate in a split of such property, unless you signed a legal document stating that you have bitcoin, specifying the amounts and accounts.

Looking up keeps us grounded and also reminds us what tiny of an unimportant fart we really are  Grin

I agree with keeping grounded, but re the other statement, it remains to be seen, Fermi paradox and all.
Evolution does not have a direction, so it is absolutely not predestined to produce intelligent and above all, technologically advanced (with various levels of such) species. The skies are silent and no visible megastructures are present (no cities in the sky in comparison to what you see on the Earth surface from the nearby space).

For those who are scientifically inclined: read the "Wonderful Life: The Burgess Shale and the Nature of History" by Stephen J Gould
Here is the most important part:
Quote
In his highly influential book ‘Wonderful Life’, Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould proposed that evolution is an unpredictable process that can be characterized as

“a staggeringly improbable series of events, sensible enough in retrospect and subject to rigorous explanation, but utterly unpredictable and quite unrepeatable. Wind back the tape of life to the early days of the Burgess Shale; let it play again from an identical starting point, and the chance becomes vanishingly small that anything like human intelligence would grace the replay.” (Gould, 1989, p. 45)

Infucking deed ya are!

and the meaning of this random word soup is?

ffs...texans are terrible drivers...they all think they are in the Talladega 500 or something...drafting right on your bumper and if your driving less than 80 on the freeways, expect to be ran over

yea, Houston highways are brutal, I posted about it a few times.
jeez, those trucks are flying, especially on outbound hways 45, 59/69, 10, 288 (a bit less) and the loop (610).
At least 50% or more fail to signal the lane change.
Many places in Texas are much quieter, though, so it is not a texan phenomena per se.

Sometimes, i feel that some pissed off people just get in their trucks and start going just for the sake of it.

PS if you got powerball at #20, then check the rest, lol

im actually feeling like there needs to be moar hookers and lambo in the world right now.../shrug

The world will eventually oblige by producing high class robot-hookers and FSD vehicles, which will be wildly used for naughty pursuits, no doubt.
As the result of both, the aggression level in the world has got to decrease if such future would be attained.

@ copetech.

I crushed myself from 1972 to 1985.

I started to attempt recovery in 1985.

1972-1985 drugs and complusive gambling.

I had a major psychotic break in 1972 on acid.

I had a medium psychotic break in 1975 on acid.

I had the long term descent into psychosis while in the Navy in 1981

Stopped drugs mostly by 1985 got a bit better.
stopped all drugs by 1991 got much better.
Met a really good psychologist in 1994 and still see her 28 years later.
I also ended gambling in 1990.
I am a life long asthmatic.
I also found out that I am diabetic in 2018 just in time to get treated and under control. So that When covid hit me in Jan 2020 I survived it .

Oh covid gave me pyronies  disease my Johnson became bent into the shape of a C after three years of treatment it is bent like ( .

Never mind the 180 day viagra incident.

My psych meds were change in 2005 and they gave me 100mg viagra pills which I took for 180 days with out realizing that they were viagra.

I could write more as there are a lot of pebbles for me to toss about.

Left turns vs right turns etc. But all in all I am still here and efforting to be here for years to come.

The pain will fade and leave a scar.
When I think back to the viagra incident I get so freaking angry and it hurts to think of the suffering I endured running around with hardons basically like I was 15 and not understanding why it was happening.

One good thing was I realized 180 days zero symptoms of psychosis meant I could stop the psych drugs.

Which likely caused me the diabetes I found out about in 2018.

But with keto diet no drugs are needed for the diabetes .

So a gain.

What is my long speech about.life can toss lots of pebbles and you can still be okay.

At 65 I am doing pretty well. Current set of pebbles are caring for my dementia riddled bro in law.

But enough about my and my pebbles.

Shoot me a pm if you want to talk more.

Well, Phil, that's what I call brutal honesty about oneself.
I am of an upbringing that just cannot allow such open talk, sadly.
Perhaps, I need a good shrink.

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/05/-in-bankrupt-lebanon-locals-mine-bitcoin-and-buy-groceries-with-tether.html

Is this where some bigger countries are also going, eventually?
Sounds unbelievable that people are able to endure this situation somehow.

TL;DR savings were basically confiscated, if I understood it correctly.
Bitcoin mining to the rescue (if you can afford the machines).

OK Guys,

Not sure why I feel the desire to tell you guys (and girl) this, I guess after lurking daily for about 18 months, I've tricked my psychie into actually thinking of some of you as friends.

Anyway, after consistently DCA'ing every week for 75+ weeks, I am officially past the "one in 100M" point. Unfortunately, in mid September I became literally one. My beautiful wife, whom I have adored for the last 22 years packed up her basic necessities and announced that we were getting a divorce. No fights, no affairs, no logical explanation. She had already set up a PO Box, a new bank account, and had a little less than ½ of the available funds transferred a couple hours before informing me. As of that morning I was 100% certain that we were in for the long haul, till death did us part. As of that evening I was a broken mess wondering why I was still breathing. I came to the grim resolution that she had not killed me (physically) because she didn't want to live with the guilt. And therefore, because I love her so much, I can't just die and force her to live with it anyway.

I'm broken. But I still got my Bitcoin and I am in the green... so that's nice... I guess.

This sucks...sorry, pal.
These stories always sound unbelievable until it happens to you.
Well, you had 22 happy years, right? Now, two adults just went on a separate journey, that's all.
For a bitcoiner, it is always more about the future, correct?

The Caucasian Species(White people) have developed white skin aprox 8200 years ago therefore it is .... [an] evolutionary species.

Perhaps, you mean "evolving"?
The dogma was that two groups are separate species [however, being a certain skin color is not a species character] when they cannot interbreed by producing fertile offspring, but we learned that it is not always the case:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelmarshalleurope/2018/08/28/a-long-busted-myth-its-not-true-that-animals-belonging-to-different-species-can-never-interbreed/

PS it's funny how a one pound dog knows that a 100 pound dog is also a dog. There must be some 'chemistry'.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-powell-pivoted-away-from-the-feds-dovish-message-and-tanked-the-markets-11667422338

Who would believe anything they say at this point?
They are hawkish in the morning, then dovish in the afternoon or vice versa.
Markets drop 1000 points-they are leaning dovish, then markets rise 1000 points-they are hawkish afterwards.
There are no reliable policies.
Watch for another 500 DOW points down, followed by a "magic" reversal of 500-1000 points.
Sheesh...

EDIT wow, AMZN got a bit more than halved and is only a few bucks away from the March 2020 bottom; META lost 76%, GOOG 42%

Let's get it on with a 32K "program" tomorrow, rather than a 8k (or even 19K), lol
Read a piece today 'predicting" a 10% stonks jump if Fed goes 50 points, hehe.
I guess they 'want' you to buy those out of money calls.
I am staying exactly where i am now (hodling).

technically, a winner;
thematically, I liked the "ready a-s" for it's imagination/irreverence.

What is all that screech about Twitter?

At least planB is back from the shadow_ban.
Of all the 'features' of social, I dislike that one the most.

bitcoin could be affected.

Here is something interesting:
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/markets/united-states-will-back-dollar-with-bitcoin

TL;DR US will bolster it's financial and economic position by backing dollar with bitcoin via dollar-denominated stablecoins (at least at first).
He lost me in the end when he started talking about hyperinflation, though.

If this plays out Bitcoin will face a modest pump towards ~$100k, dumped back to $60k ore so. Will decouple from stock market by 2024 halving with a glorious mega pump to $200k - $400k.

merited..., but I am having difficulty correlating your btc scenario with his S&P500 scenario.
I am really surprised by the gold behavior so far...it is seemingly in a coma (predicting asteroid mining?)
If someone would have told me beforehand that gold would be declining when inflation is at 8-10%, I would have been very surprised.

I guess the main conclusion would be that he proposes that markets would become unhinged and chaotic, swinging between a new ATH and a new (at least decade) low within a year.

in trad. markets there are several "experts" who expect a final super rally before everything goes to shit...

ah...the last, last hit, right?
In all secular bulls there are always those who predict a "last", almost vertical rally and sometimes it happens, but most often, not.
Did happen in gold circa 1980, but did not really happen in 1989 Japan (rose "only" 30% in the last year)...followed in both cases by a ~20 year bear.
