701  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 29, 2023, 07:13:01 AM
Poor people's play or role in the economy is the same with any other people, they also pay taxes and do other things but always being neglected because rich people think that they are just slaves. If poverty is one of the main problem in a certain country, for sure their Government is lacking something very big.

Poor people are always the hard laborer, they work their asses out more than 8 hours a day and still get underpaid, which is not fair for me, that's why they never get out of poverty.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: June 28, 2023, 02:59:51 PM
I guess the most difficult part in gambling would be for gamblers to control their own emotions, I often see big whale gamblers losing their cool in the casinos once they goes on a long losing streak and they still kept on betting with their martingale strategy until they realize their previous winnings and initial deposit are gone within a short period of time due to their impulsiveness on betting.
The ability to control emotions is something that every gambler must have because by losing money at the gambling table, their emotions can run high and forget their limits. Especially when they experience a losing streak, they can become emotional and use more money or even increase their bet amount. When the emotions are gone, their composure in playing gambling will also disappear and that's when they lose control over their emotions.
One of the reasons why a gambler does not succeed in gambling is that he fails to control his emotions. Wins and losses in gambling happen to everyone but there are some gamblers who exceed their limits and turn into addicted gamblers. At some point when he comes out of his emotions he understands everything. But most gamblers fail to control their emotions as long as they have money. And those who cannot naturally control their emotions cannot survive in gambling. A gambler's patience and emotions both are important issues.

Indeed. Failure to suppress and control your emotion will really cost you. If you are hot-tempered or if you lack patience in terms of playing, you'll likely bet more in irrational and impulsive manner. And by playing like this, you will lose fund in the process because you will not be thinking logically and instead, you will play based on your emotions that isn't right all the time. Being so swayed by your feelings is a form of vulnerability gamblers must learn to overcome in order to go far in gambling. Sticking to your fund allocation or budget should be practiced too. Because after all, not everyday is a lucky day to play and bet. Sometimes you have to pause and to think whether it's still worth it to continue or to stop for a while and have a breather.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 28, 2023, 01:22:42 PM

Yes, that's right, because by hiding our status as gamblers and never being seen by anyone that we are gamblers will help us from the words of other people who say we are addicts, even though it has never offended me but it's good to hide it, even I never share the winnings me on social media or my gambling activity in front of my friends or social media.

It's enough that my wife and I know that I am a gambler and a few other gambler friends, after all it doesn't matter that many people need to know we are gamblers because that won't make us comfortable especially that gambling will always be bad in people's eyes, so I always hide it . fortunately I am not a gambling addict, my habit is to only gamble on weekends, unlike addicts who play all the time.

It's a good thing that you gamble moderately and isn't a gambling addict. As much as I don't want to agree in other parts of your statement, it is the truth that people still see gambling as something negative. The moment people you are a gambler, most of the times, their minds think of the worst. Perhaps this is because gambling is tainted and still painted with such negative connotations. Hence, I understand your reason to hide it to other people. Because after all, some things are better left unsaid and hidden to avoid speculations and to avoid unsolicited opinions especially if you know it to yourself that you have a healthy gambling habit.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 28, 2023, 12:20:03 PM
Both possess risks. In gambling, you risk your fund for entertainment. A profit is just a plus points and a type of reward, this is if you are gambling because you just want to have fun or pass time. But if you are gambling just to earn profit, it will be much riskier since you are expecting something in return and you will allocate a bigger fund for playing. Of course, if you want to profit, you have to have a capital. The higher the fund you can spend in gambling, the higher the chances of you winning because you can play more games with more money. However, it doesn't really guarantee that you will bring home a huge money since the overall results is still mainly based on your skills, knowledge, and luck.

When it comes to future trading, it also possess a risk, but this one is mainly focused on building your portfolio and making money. You won't be in futures trading if you'll just play and have fun. The moment you enter it, you have a goal in mind which is to make money. If your goal is to be financially stable, you have higher chance of attaining so by futures trading. Although be reminded that this way requires you to have vast knowledge, strategies, and techniques. You need to know how to analyze the market flow and not just go by your gut feeling. Overall, it will depend on which risk you want to take.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 28, 2023, 10:47:02 AM
The tournament was done already, I suppose. But to answer your question, no, I don't see sex as a form of sports. It is an act that binds people together in an intimate manner. It shouldn't be a form of competition because why and how would you even assess or make the rules to begin with? It's just so freakin weird and the level of liberation is just so high to the point i can't really comprehend it. For me, it is an act of pornography streamed live and having bets on the side.

I can't find the appropriateness of including sex as a sport therefore I won't bet at all. But since their state included and accepted it, then so be it. It's just that there could be other better sports to conduct which will not be an eyesore to those traditional, conservative, and those people who uphold morality.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: June 27, 2023, 01:17:15 PM
If you are not aiming for a quick way to earn, I mean if you don't have that wrong impressions into gambling.

Using the amount that you are willing to let go, sparing it for the sake of entertainment is something that wise gambler
is really capable, they can calculate and they can execute that kind of engagement without any fear of exceeding and
losing a lot of money, with the kind of setup addiction is also being catered, not allowing too much engagements and
exposure to gambling.
It is true.
Sports gamblers are the ones who are not mostly prone to gambling addiction because they are just logging in whenever an event will happen with their favorite sports. And, a human being can only handle less amount of sports to be more knowledgeable about it.
I love boxing, MMA, and basketball only, and adding more might get me confused about which sport a player/fighter will be. Sometimes I even mix MMA with boxing because of the entertainment that is happening right now mostly with Jake Paul challenging MMA fighters.
I tend to just wait for big events to come and in NBA the season ends so there's a long rest that will come after. I just play casino games when I feel bored but I don't really soak into it, just an hour of playing Keno or Crash, I already have a sored eye.  Grin

I think those who believe they are near the addiction, they should just try to focus on sports betting instead, the fun is still there because of the thrill that will be added by betting for the favorite team.

This has a point. I rarely hear that someone is addicted in sports gambling. Most of the time, players get too much caught up with luck based games. Since luck based games such as slots and roulettes are not that complicated, it's much easier to access and play whenever and wherever. There's no need for an event to come up just to be able to play and bet. Unlike in sports betting wherein the gamblers have to wait a specific time frame in which the sports match will commence before they can make a bet. And with this being said, it's not going to be an everyday scenario for them which just basically puts them into lesser probability of getting addicted to gambling.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: June 27, 2023, 12:25:16 PM
Well, its the son's money and he can do anything he like with it. He offered it to his dad, and his dad rejected it. That's it. There is nothing more he can do about it. Maybe his dad is extremely religious or perhaps, gambling is seen very negatively where he lives, hence his dad doesn't want to be seen as a "bad" person or something. The kid can do good with the money. Perhaps start something for his own, spread and donate every now and then. But he shouldn't regret anything. As long as he isn't gambling and affecting his life or anyone, it should be fine. His dad will probably eventually understand.

A lot of things are not clear in this story. What happened to the money? Did the father took that money and then donated it to a church or a charity organization? In that case we can't say that he rejected the winnings. We can only say that he accepted the money and then donated it to someone else. Only in case the father returned all the money to the casino, we can say that he rejected the prize. And I don't think that it happened either. And the casino hasn't made any announcement on this matter and legal situation is also a bit fluid (all forms of gambling are illegal in Nigeria).
The son won a large amount of money and he decide to gave a part to the father, you know how fathers usually are, I mean the responsible ones, they will ask where the son get the money from.

I don't think the father took the money and donate to someone else, there is nothing in that story that sounds like this, I believe the father rejected the money and the son too, weird? Well it has happened around me too, someone living very close.

Before the son won this large amount, I believe the father must have been talking against gambling to the son, he must have severally warn him to stay away from gambling because his religion doesn't allow it,  but the son thought that he could confuse his father with the money.

This pretty much sums up what happened. The father rejected his son the moment the latter offered a portion of his winnings because perhaps it is against their religion to bet or play gambling of any sort. For some religious groups, gambling is really prohibited because they see it as a dirty money that came from a place of greed and being irresponsible. Hence, accepting money from any form of gambling is a no-no to them.

Additionally, some parents are just too conservative and too traditional. Some also very much stand up for their principles and beliefs. If we are to assume that the father is like this, then this just explains why he won't let his pride down to accept the money made from gambling. Giving it to charity won't be an option too because that just means he accepted it in some way, but just proceed to give it to other to remove the guilt of spending fund that came from a "dirty" way. I don't know if it's a good thing that the father stood his ground or not. But I guess to each his own. As long as he is not going to violate his son's right to the money he earned, then it's all good.
708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 27, 2023, 11:32:28 AM
Correct. Making gambling activities as a past time or a habit will definitely make it hard for you to quit because other than gambling activities, you don't know any remedies on where would you blow off your steam after long days at work or when you're just bored as you are already accustomed in gambling in every free time you have. Don't take it wrong because it's not really a bad idea to choose gambling as a way to release some stress but don't do it in most occasions as that will pull you in their trap.
A variety of hobbies is a must, not only because if you only have one hobby you could eventually get tired of it and then you will not know what to do, but also because it is important to avoid spending too much of our time in a single activity, and while gambling is entertaining and exciting, at the same time we need to use our free time in other activities, as not only this helps us to enjoy our gambling time even more but it also protect us from developing any kind of gambling issue.

Agree with this.

It's important to build or find a hobby aside from gambling. After all, it's so much better to allot your other spare time to beneficial and worthwhile activities that could contribute to your growth and development as a person, and even adding in your set of skills that you have acquired over time. It will be a responsible thing to do to take part into other recreational activities to boost your health and well-being. Because after all, gambling can be tiring and anxious especially if the odds aren't going on your favor. This could also help in prevention of building unnecessary gambling dependency that could be harmful in the long run if not cut early on.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 27, 2023, 10:44:30 AM
I won't.

This isn't me being a hypocrite. I'm just well-aware of the consequences of cheating on a casino. Instead of harvesting good from it, it could cost you so much. Things that you don't want to give up or experience such as tragic event when it comes to losing your fund that you deposited because the casino detected there's something wrong from your account could possibly happen. The moment the casino notice something unusual activity from your gameplays, it will raise a flag alert that could make your account under monitoring or surveillance until proven not guilty from doing illegal and fraudulent activities. Your account might get suspended or permanently banned, which will make your options lesser in betting and playing. Restriction on making another account is possible too, especially if the casino has KYC process and diligently uphold the integrity of the players to protect it from abuse.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: June 26, 2023, 03:56:18 PM
Gambling isn’t sure money. We have often heard people saying, “The house always wins”, so yes, only the casino owner gets profit by the gambling. You can try gambling as a secondary source of income, but shouldn’t completely rely on it. As gambling is a game of chance and luck, not skill, for this reason, the possibility of getting loss is very high compared to the possibility of getting profit. If you have a family to look after, or tons of regular bills to pay, then yes apart from gambling you also need to do some serious jobs.

Simply agree with you. Because it's quite absurd to see people who make gambling their main job and even leave their jobs in the office. Even though the money they get from gambling is also not as big as what they got from their previous job, and even worse they end up poor and their family is falling apart. Because to be honest, some people I know, who put their lives on the line, didn't have a happy ending, most of them were broke and their families were falling apart. That is why putting one's life at stake is such a stupid thing to do.

It's really a risky move to make gambling as a main source of income because it holds so much risk than any other possible jobs that you could get. You could turn out broke just because of playing gambling, what more if you'll treat it as a main job that will help your survive everyday. The pressure and the expectation from yourself will be higher that could result to being unable to play strategically and at ease which could certainly affect the outcome of your plays and bets. Additionally, the earnings won't be as stable so you shouldn't really expect and rely on it fully because the high hopes you have for it might turn into a nightmare situation.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: June 26, 2023, 02:28:11 PM
Patience is totally relevant and I find I have zero patience when tired, avoid gambling same as you might be wary of gambling anything significant while under the influence.  Its a good idea to play for fun and just fun, dont get ambitious when tired or inebriated in any way just because you are not fully aware at 100% capabilities in your actions but of course the cost is the same.   Losing temper or low patience is extremely common when tired, pretty much everyone will make this mistake and its good advice in life overall to sometimes just walk away walk off and enjoy some fresh air, inversely this will save alot of money by not wasting it in the first place.

Agree with this.

You will save yourself from spending further more and undergoing trouble or possible disappointments once you lose your temper in gambling. If you want to play, then be sure to bring with you tons of it to avoid unnecessary losses on your end. Because having a hot-temper will just cause you to have an irrational bets. If you aren't in the right mental headspace, then it's best to postpone your play until you cool down and have a good sense of mental stability so your judgment won't be clouded.

It will be a hard part to undergo regrets and resentment towards yourself later on if you will still insist in pushing through making further more bets just because you want or feel like to. Every impulsive decision has its cost in gambling world.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 24, 2023, 03:55:33 PM
This also means that if you truly believe that gambling will change your life, you have that addictive behavior that is pulling you.

That doesn't mean you are addicted to gambling because there are people who believe they can make money through gambling, and they have been successful. It's only wrong if it's impossible to make money in gambling, and yet we still pursue it. If you are addicted to gambling, that means you can't control yourself anymore, and once you are out of control, there's no way you'll win.
People can make money from gambling but they must know that to be able to earn money from gambling is not easy. And also, they must be aware that gambling can actually eat up all their money and even everything they have if they have become addicted to gambling. And when they are addicted to gambling, it will be even more difficult to cure it. Gambling can indeed change their lives to have money but they should not use gambling because there are still others who can provide a way for them to make money.

I agree with this.

Gambling is a risky hobby and a risky source of income if you will try to make it as one. It can cost you so much before you can eventually earn and profit. It could also lead you to being addicted to the point you're willing to bypass your financial capabilities just to be able to satisfy your gambling habits. And once you fall for that temptation, it will be a bad situation on your end. You can be burdened up by pile of debts, lose time for your loved ones, disregard your responsibilities, and even make enemies in the process.

Additionally, it will be hard to quit too because once you are used to with the routine, you will end up in a bargaining stage with yourself and perhaps even relapse.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 24, 2023, 02:41:56 PM
Any form of addiction would face a denial stage where they would neglect listening to opinions and observations by the people around them. Most of them are aware that they are spending too much time in gambling but they couldn't notice personally that they are really into gambling addiction. They will surely feel offended and will deny other people's observations as their defense but I don't think telling or informing them that they are already addicted to gambling would stop them from excessive playing.
To occasional gamblers, it will surely hurt their feelings unless it will be delivered in a good manner where they could also explain their side and defend themselves. Of course, most of us are protecting our image and being referred as a gambling addict is a heavy thing for us to bear.
Telling the person that he has a gambling addiction is necessary so that he can begin to change for the better. And even though he may get angry or deny or even distance himself from us, we should try to approach and tell him, especially if he is a family member. Who else will tell him and pull him out of gambling if not us? Maybe we need to find another approach that can make them open their minds and finally realize that they are already addicted to gambling and start looking for ways to overcome their gambling addiction.

This is so on point.

If you really care for someone, you will point out their shortcomings so that they can do better. It will help them address the things that needs to be straightened in order to be the better version of themselves. But of course, it is needed that we do it in a caring and concern manner, not in an insulting and condescending way that they will feel bad about themselves. Because instead of helping out, you may come off as aggressive and bully to them that they have to avoid.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: June 24, 2023, 11:05:50 AM
It's because of different privilege we have in our lives, we share different stories, different problems, and different status. The most accurate words for this that I've read is that "We might sailing in the same ocean, but we're riding different boat". So we can't literally say they wanted to stay poor, but for them it is what it is, they already accepted that fact that they are happy from what they have in life, and that's okay.
715  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: June 23, 2023, 01:29:16 PM
Well greed is the main reason why other people force themselves not to buy when the price was low, because they are hoping it would even go lower which did not happen, so they just regret it at some point. The real thing is that nobody knows when is the right time to enter the market, we can't predict it though, so it is all about trusting your technical analysis and risk it, that's all it is.
716  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 23, 2023, 11:22:50 AM
Luck is also needed in trading, since the price is very unpredictable and technical analysis ain't always on point for us to make profits.

For me the risk in gambling is much more large than trading, since it could be manipulated by the house in some ways we don't know for them to make bankroll every single day. Trading is all about efforts and dedication, the skill set is your weapon to analyze thoroughly before entering a trade, in short, the chances of winning in trading is larger than in gambling, in my opinion.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 23, 2023, 07:01:46 AM
If there's a will, there's a way.

I doubt that a certain person who knows much about cryptocurrency will not gonna make a way to earn money in any good ways. If I were that person, I would convince someone who has money to fund my knowledge about cryptocurrency and get a 60:40 at first, then if I saved enough money to start on my own, I'll go solo, simple as that. There's a lot of ways actually if you really want something, you just have to do it.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is next for Bitcoin? Seems like the only winners are early adopters unless on: June 23, 2023, 05:51:55 AM
If you think that missing out the opportunity to buy bitcoin when it was way more cheap, then you don't clearly understand how it works.

Let's say you still can't move on when you should've bought when Bitcoin was $110 and when you made up your decision to buy it was $220, it increased 100%, it's just the same if you're gonna buy at $30,000 but hesitated then regrets again when it hits $60,000, you know what I mean. My point is, as long as Bitcoin has its price, it's never too late to buy it, you just have to be patient.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: June 22, 2023, 03:08:00 PM
Investing on something but you're just half-assed committed on it won't really guarantee you anything at all. Investment is a commitment, you have to know what you need to do and what you are doing in order to gain profits, if not, your money will just be wasted. And, it doesn't guarantee a rich quick scheme of course, it takes time before you could actually called yourself "rich" unless you're already rich before you've done investing.
720  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic problem, why is fiat difficult to hold. on: June 22, 2023, 02:20:52 PM
It's difficult to hodl fiat if you're the type of person that loves impulsive buying, shopping online, always eating outside, buying branded clothes and shoes, etc. In order to spend your money on the right things, you have to be matured enough to endure your thoughts on buying the things you want, instead focus on the things you need. Keep track on your expenses, budget your fiat, only buy things you wanted if you really have extra cash for it and don't do it always.
