...and so it comes to pass, another final against Medvedev and Sinner. Both players won their
matches yesterday in 2 sets but in fairness they were hard fought battles with tie breaks for both.

So for todays final the odds are close: Medvedev 1.71 v 2.15 Sinner.

Sinner has definitely improved this year and noticeably in the second half, he just
might pull off the win and is worth a 2.15 bet.

Overnight Australia Vs New Zealand (both men's and women's) NRL Pacific cup games occurred. The Australian men won their game while the Jilleroos lost their game against New Zealand for the first time since 2016.

Thats a big upset for the Jilleroos. The Australian RL is very strong so most people
would expect both the mens ans womens sides to win.

So.... we just see the MOST lucky champion in the history of Rugby World Cup?.

They win by one point in QF.
They win by one point in SF.
They win by one point in the final.

...and the only team that beat them was Ireland!

For me New Zealand deserve to be the champion, they played way better with one men less, and they missed two chances with the foot. GG For me the red card was TOO MUCH in a final in the frist half, you cant blow that as a red card.

I disagree, IMO the scoreboard reflects the performance of both teams, SA were only
marginally better than NZ. NZ had some very good attacking play but they also
made a lot of errors due to the SA defence and ferocity in the tackles.

The RED card decision was correct, its something the officials have been cracking
down on -head contact-

If NZ had been at full 15 man strength they probably would have won though.

Way too close to call....

The last five minutes were breathtaking. I could see NZ wouldn't be able to maintain possession but then RSA gave it back ... and then it kept going back and forth.

Getting a scrum with 23 seconds to go was near heart stopping.

Congratulations to the victors the Republic of South Africa.

It wasnt a great match, it was riddled with errors from both sides but the conditions
were tricky I suppose.

Yea those last 5 minutes were real nail biting stuff and the scrum in the dying seconds
was real drama. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT

Am back in (should never watch Rugby and surf the net at the same time...)

@aoluain - please post your wallet address to return your wager given neither of our selections won in the end.

Pity for your bet Timelord, would have been nice for one of us to have won.

Pity also that we didnt get more interest from other members to place a wager,
chances are then that someone would have won the pot.

723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not, we expect bullish trend on: October 28, 2023, 02:29:01 PM
Who the heck knows what will cause bitcoin’s price to go up in the end? Too much people are betting on the halving and the ETF. What if bitcoin doesn’t immediately pump after these events? Bet longterm.

Nobody knows but as per the OP's point there seems to be a lot of speculative buying
based moreso on an imminent ETF approval than anything else.

Its ok IMO to bet on the halving, thats going to happen and the effect of it more than likely
wont happen straight away but betting on an ETF approval is really a gamble which will/may
result in a lot of people getting hurt.

I don't know why all this linking between the rise of Bitcoin and the approval of Bitcoin ETFs? Bitcoin has never been associated with this before and yet we have seen significant spikes many times in the past.

Of course, no one denies that approval of Bitcoin ETFs will have a significant positive impact on the market, but this does not mean, of course, that non-approval will lead to a decline in prices, nor does it mean that the rise in Bitcoin is linked only to the approval of Bitcoin ETFs.

Personally, I'm optimistic about a big rally for Bitcoin after halving next year whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not.

Nobody seems to be posting the saying "buy the hype, sell the news" it may happen that
the rise after an ETF approval wont be when a lot of people expect, it could be a
couple of weeks after the event!

I am also very positive about a rise from the halving next year but again it may not be
immediately after the event.

Argh with a couple of minutes to go Argentina got a penalty but Sanchez pulled the kick
to the left and the score remained a 3 point difference.

In the end it was Argentinas game which they lost due to too many errors, they had some
great attacking play but couldnt turn the possession into points.

That bet was so close to winning!

Final coming up today

Way too close to call....
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 28, 2023, 07:24:45 AM

In Austria, Zverev will play aginst Rublev. It will probably be a close match.

yes thats an interesting match up, Zverev gas found some form but Rublev will be tough
gor Zverev to beat I think.

Really tasty quarter finals in Vienna:::

The most interesting is Tsitsipas v Gojo who got a wildcard into the tournament,
and who could possibly beat Tsitsipas. His odds are 3.0!

Medvedev should win and
Sinner should win

Yeah, any of these matches could have easily been a Masters or a Grand Slam final! I watched Rublev v Zverev and it was a great match! Rublev showed more consistency and won 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-3. Earlier, Medvedev defeated Khachanov and Tsitsipas came out victorious agains Gojo.

Sinner v Tiafoe under way at the moment Sinner taking an early lead 3:0.

Meanwhile in Basel, Holger Rune continued his winning streak with a win against Etcheverry 6:1, 3:6, 7:6.
Finally top four seeds have reached the semifinals. The matches were between Medvedev and Tsitsipas, Rublev and Sinner.
Medvedev and Tsitsipas have met 12 times and it is Medvedev to take the lead of winning 8 matches. The recent match being played in the ATP Masters 1000 Rome in which Medvedev won 7-5 7-5
Based on the head to head stats, Sinner have won 3 matches and Rublev have won 2 matches. The recent encounter between the two had taken place in this year's ATP Masters Miami. In the match Sinner had won it in the dominant manner 6-2 6-4. Lets see what happens in the upcoming matches.

Yes, its quite a rare thing for the top 4 seeds to be in the semifinals faving each other.

Medvedev plays Tsitsipas - Medvedev us rightly favourite at 1.35, I cant see Tsitsipas
getting.past Medvedev based on his current form.

Rublev plays Sinner - Sinner is favourite at 1.5, maybe a combo bet is on for medvedev
and Sinner, that would be "another" H2H for these two.

RUGBY WORLD CUP Bronze Medal Match

Argentina v England

Its half time and England lead, the match actually is riddled with errors and Argentina
while struggling early on came back into it

The odds at half time are 6.25 - 1.15

IMO Argentina should be lower odds, I really think thwy have a stronger chance to win this,
if they can cut out the errors which hands England the opportunity to at least kick their penalties.

I created an account which was very easy and I searched the data base of collectibles
which are already listed.

I think its an interesting idea. Some questions though...

Will each users account be viewable only by themselves?
Will be be able to add items ourselves that are not listed going forward?
Why are there Watches listed, is the site designed to incorporate all manner of collectibles,
 not just Crypto related?

Because of the watches it reminds me of the site:

Last week was the first week of the URC - United Rugby Championship. The lead up to the
annual competition has kind of been over shadowed by the RWC.

3 of the 4 Irish sides won their matches with Leinster beaten by Glasgow Warriors.
Leinster were missing a lot of key players because they make up a big portion of the
National side.

Parma 36 - 40 Ulster
Connacht 34 - 26 Ospreys
Munster 34 - 21 Sharks
Glasgow Warriors 43 - 25 Leinster
730  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No Bread In Gaza - Killing For Food Will Start In Two, Three Days on: October 26, 2023, 07:35:38 AM
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. I am seeing so many awful stories coming out of Gaza, I hope for peace ASAP.
There are far too many innocent civilians getting caught up in this needless conflict. I am really disappointed in both sides that people in power are not pushing hard for peace talks, the bloodshed must stop.

Peace - in what form will that take? bombing to stop? ground invasion cancelled?
safe passage for palestinians from Gaza to West Bank and back? Israel to stop new
settlements?

There will never be peace. Israel are currently bombing civilians thinking they are
actually attacking Hamas, Hamas are sheltering in tunnels or are gone.

What is happening now is Israel is fuelling more hatred by their actions in bombing and
blocking much needed fuel and supplies.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most weird thing you bought with crypto? on: October 26, 2023, 07:07:26 AM
I handed over some valuable Bitcoin a few years back for some magic tokens. I was told
and believed the projects behind them were going to do great things ans solve some
centralised issues and grow my investment at the same time...sadly those projects never
made it and I realise now it was a weird thing to hand over Bitcoin in lieu of $hitcoins and
it was weird of me not to value more my Bitcoin at that time.

Thats the weirdest thing I have bought with my Bitcoin.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 25, 2023, 06:31:46 PM
With this win he has moved up to place 14 in the ATP ranking and is getting closer and closer to the top ten. Shelton is probably the biggest hope for the USA at the moment. In any case he is showing good development.
This week he is playing the tournament in Vienna (Austria) and will play against Sinner in the first round at 25.10. I think he can go very far in this tournament.

Definitely one to watch for the future and could easily go to the US #1 spot. He does
play Sinner next who is seeded #2 so its a tough one.

Both have played against each other one time so far. That was at the Shanghai Masters. Shelton had won then. But only because Sinner had a tough match in Beijing before. And  Sinner has not played a tournament since then and therefore he is better rested for this match. But Shelton has certainly gained a lot of confidence and with his young naivety he could beat Sinner. After that he could make it to the semi-finals.

Today at the Vienna tournament Shelton failed to get past Sinner seeded 2. Sinner won
in 2 sets with a good challenge from Shelton in the first set tie break.

We already have some tasty lineups in the round of 16 tomorrow, Sinner plays Sonego,
Sinner should beat his countryman, I have no odds yet.

Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Paul, Rublev and Tiafoe through also...

Last match for today is Zverev v Norrie, Zverev ahead by 1 set, Norrie has been a bit
dissapointing recently.
733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may not hit $24,750 again in 2023 - I'm bullish till 2024 on: October 25, 2023, 06:18:30 AM

I agree also that in the short term for the remainder of October certainly we could
follow the current trend but there will be situations where the Bitcoin market will be
over-bought and then over-sold. The market doesnt just keep rising, or falling.

I think I would definitely agree though with the OP's point that we wont be going
back to ~ $24,750

Are we really sure that it's not going to? I hope your analysis is wrong because I've been slowly accumulating bitcoin and I have another upcoming big money coming and I want to make sure I'm buying a lot of bitcoin for a discounted price. But hey, if that's not going to be the case, I guess I'll just buy bitcoin in December and hope that I still get a lot of bitcoin value out of the money I'm going to get.

I would say there are a few people still holding for a dip in the price to but Bitcoin
on discount!

Hmmmm maybe but in a scrum I cant see how they would be able to comment to each other,
Bongi is a hooker and is on the middle of the front row while Curry is a flanker and is
on the edge of the second row...its a good explanation though!

New tournament approved starting in 2026... The Nations Cup.

24 teams in 2 tiers with promotion and relegation (Timelord will love that!!)
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 24, 2023, 06:11:02 PM
And Shelton takes the tournament title!

Karatsev yesterday beat Mochizuki after play was suspended for a time but he failed to overcome
Shelton. Final score over 2 sets was 5-7 and 1-6.

With this win he has moved up to place 14 in the ATP ranking and is getting closer and closer to the top ten. Shelton is probably the biggest hope for the USA at the moment. In any case he is showing good development.

Definitely one to watch for the future and could easily go to the US #1 spot. He does
play Sinner next who is seeded #2 so its a tough one.

Dimitrov v Musetti has just started, I expect Dimitrov to win this one, he has been
playing good recently and Musetti has been quiet.

Earlier Tsitsipas, Paul and Rublev won which would be expected.

From an Italian point of view Sonego is leading Cerundolo ATM...
737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dump market potential? on: October 24, 2023, 08:39:00 AM
I also think there is always dump potential and not only because of wars around the world. World is literally heading towards unemployment and recession so I am very doubtful how much loans people can take and how much money people can save and invest in Bitcoin. In some countries people are literally buying food and toilet paper and other type of necessary goods with long shelf life to protect themselves from inflation. For Bitcoin to take off and fly, we need more people with savings that will buy.

In every uptrend there is correction that always follows, it is not news that in correction or dump follows when a market is done surging since those who buy at a lower price tend to exit to take profit.  A good example of this kind of scenario is when Bitcoin breaks its ATH, it is followed by a correction and bear market trend showing that a dump is inevitable after an uptrend.

The current scenario where Bitcoin rallies to $31k+ can also possibly suffer a dump due to people taking profit.

About the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine, I don't think that it will escalate to a global war because other countries will keep each other in check preventing them from directly participating and sending their troops in the ongoing war.

I agree, looking at the ongoing surge I also would expect a "correction" to happen,
Maybe soon or maybe in the short term but it does tend to happen.

Looking at the RSI currently it suggests the market is kind of over bought and generally
there follows a corresponding drop.

I'm hold out for the "Buy the dip" moment!
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 23, 2023, 09:23:54 PM
Very interesting lineup tomorrow at the Vienna open, most notably Shelton v Sinner! that
promises to be a cracking match.

Odds have Sinner as favourite @ 1.27 against Shelton @ 3.89. I think they are a bit skewed
and Shelton could be worth a bet at that price.

This is a big tournament, Medvedev, Zverev, Sonego, Musetti and Karatsev are all playing tomorrow!

739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin? on: October 23, 2023, 08:06:14 PM
it would make me richer in FIAT terms, but I will be in the exact same position BTC-wise.

1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin

Of course, BTC1 will always be BTC1 its just the FIAT value which moves but with a
value so high on Bitcoin it means that many people will be able to pay off some debt
and still have a high percentage of Bitcoin left.

There are also those who will go "Lambo" and spend their Bitcoin on stuff which will
depreciate in value which is not a good move for me.

I will pay off some debt, maybe buy something which will make money in time but
most importantly I will always have Bitcoin.
