ffs, Vlad....i admit the powerboats are very tempting, but Bob is/was scamming people, no matter how you want to spin it. Pump and dump is pretty much the same as stealing a pension fund: the small/stupid/new/honest investors get screwed, and that ain't right. I might be an insane idealist, but didn't Satoshi create BTC to help put a stop to the mega-scams in the financial world ?

Try a test run on one of the straight NXT clones: NFD, NAS or NTX can all be had for 1-10 satoshi a pop, and would be a good playground. Problem is that they don't have much network/tx activity, but that might make your job easier.

Thanks, man, that was good stuff on many levels.......can i suggest, once your moral compass is back on-line again, that you consider writing as a career? Your style might not be perfect, but you've got a good flow and can tell a story well.

Don't be giving too many hints, D. And to cynicSOB: When you carry out your NXT attack, could you go to the trouble of documenting every step and the results ? Even if you fail ( ) there may be a small bounty for documenting the attack, and if you succeed, there'll be a bigger bounty. Good luck, mate, give 'em Hell.

Selling Ripple for Stellar? Best move evah! Lets face it, kids, they both stink, but China seems to have gone mad for Stellar......right now Ripple is rising at around 0.3% per hour, and Stellar is ripping it up at 3-4% per hour. Easy choice for the short term...

The N@S paper from Kushti is important, though, this attack vector is always brought out whenever Nxt (and POS in general) is discussed. Right now, the paper takes a few improtant steps in demonstrating that a nothing-at-stake attack is almost ceratinly dooned to fail.
And Hi! to the Coinomat dude!

just for those who don't seem to know: You don't need to make a new account each time you want to post a message, you can use the one you already made before... It seems obvious, but looking at those 2 or 3 threads about bitbay, it doesn't seem to be obvious for everybody ROFLMAO..........

Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896480.msg9867986#msg9867986It's the story of Bob Burplus, but some things are very applicable to BlockNet: The believers are a species unto themselves. They develop a cult like devotion to the coin and its supposed technology, blocking out all reasonable outside voices. They cultivate a devotion to the leader of the coin – usually the dev – and join with him in his messianic complex, which is defined roughly like this: CoinX is going to change the world, and the world doesn’t want that to happen. Paid forces are out to get the leader, and we must circle around him.
If it all gets too much, the leaders of the coin just remove it from the public eye. They retreat to a private forum or bb, where only the voices of the leader and followers can be heard.

Everyone in crypto should read this.........

I'm pretty sure that Ripples current pump is about to run out, so if these guys are paid by Ripple, they have a shitty sense of timing.

OMG....sidechains implementation !! Admittedly, it's only on TestNet, but it looks like we'll have a live Monetary System/sidechains in the New Year.

Yep, NXT is definitely a good place to be right now.....the tech is amazingly solid, we already have a load of 3rd party projects being buillt on NXT, with a lot of interesting stuff coming up soon. NXT is dominating the crypto-assets market, and will soon be releasing a sidechain implementation: the Monetary System, which will allow creation of new currencies on top of the NXT blockchain.
And we're going into space......

Everyone is riding this XRP wave to get ready to buy BTC and other altcoin bottoms right?
No Just take a look at the infrastructure and investment going into XRP - Ripple will be the next crypto rocket to the moon. I think we could see 1$ within a few months. ASIC POW is now dying fast - Industrial miners will give up and BTC price will reflect this. You actually think that Ripple will go to a $31 billion dollar market cap (6 times the size of the current entire crypto market) inside a few months ? Srsly?

Dear everyone, just a quick outburst of positive energies. ***cut lots of happy postitive stuff*** I'm so happy to have found my way here and will keep doing my best to support the community in every way available to me. - Jyri -- Altcoin.Center +1 on that, mostly. The crypto scene is (mostly) amazingly friendly, especially outside BTT........I've set up a NXT promo booth in a BitCoin Foundation run conference, and had nothing but fun, games and excellent deals for 3 days. Same story all over in the physical world: crypto guys/girls are generally pretty good people....... I think the anonymity afforded by a forum simply brings out the worst in some, take a look at pretty much any comments section. Add in a few genuinely scammy assholes and you can get the impression that crypto is indeed full of horror, which isn't really true. It's just a very small minority of idiots causing all the shit. Stay positive, Jyri!

I might be biased ok, I am biased, but: NXT and SuperNET. NXT has produced so much useful tech (including much of SuperNET) and has just passed the one year live mark. That's a whole year of constant attack but the NXT core and blockchain are still solid and stable. NXT is also one of the straightest and most trustworthy crypto projects: the NXT community and stakeholders have proved over the last year that they will make hard decisions to maintain the integrity of NXT, and that these decisions come from the community....not from superstar/prima donna/scammer devs. Did I mention the open-source and decentralisation yet? For SuperNET, check out the client: https://nxtforum.org/lite-multigateway-releases/supernet-v1-3-4-3/This client represents, I guess, about 20% of currently planned SuperNet functionality, maybe less. So it's not just a collection of assets, but a fully operational battle station.....

****cut lots, left the important word****
Surreal.
This is just.......amazing is probably also a good word for it. Though there are no good words for this shit, tbh. I'm completely fucking disgusted..........we should be at least a little bit better than this.

Spondoolies gear is cool, but mining is a very tricky game these days. You would probably make more money over 6-12 months by just putting $3,500 into BTC and/or a good alts portfolio, and then going for a nice long sleep.
But if you can get free electricity, do it. If you'll have to pay for the juice yourself, don't bother.

Yeah...we need to pass a crypto law that all currencies should implement AT.

Hah, I knew there'd be one somewhere, and it's only 5 kms from me. (Amsterdam, Zeedijk 43) http://www.generalbytes.com/I'll be at the opening for the BitCoin Embassy here in Amsterdam on Friday, so I'll have a look at the ATM....maybe get NXT listed on it. Edit: BitCoin Embassy will have their 'Grand Opening' on Friday 12/12/2014: http://bitcoinembassyamsterdam.nl/Cool, I might be able to go there on the opening. Ask them for an invite....the more the merrier!
