Tweet from @MintPalExchange.

Quote
Sorry folks, we're having a few issues with the NXT wallet. Until we can resolve them, we're going to add TeslaCoin (TES) which came second.

Looks like Damelon is Nostradamus....spooky!

NXT gone from mintpal.com/voting ?
NXT Won!

MintPal @MintPalExchange
Congrats to NXT for winning today's vote, very close with TES there! Market will be up soon.

Expect a generic 'How the hell do we implement this thing?!" email Wink

Again, we need to offer concrete help to exchanges with integration, not just throw money at them.
1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 20, 2014, 07:51:19 PM
in all decentralization, we whales have decided to dump NXT price back to 0.00006 for the obviuos reason that we can and have to cash out

we will hold price at 0.00006 for a few months so please be patient

Good luck with that, bro....if u dump really, really hard right now, just like a big boy, u could maybe push it even lower.
Wait a couple of hours for me to get my BTC sorted, then I'm ready to buy!

I want to make one more point here as an official NXT treasurer.  Those NXT fund spreadsheets in my sig currently document THREE QUARTERS OF A MILLION DOLLARS of assets.  This is with the NXT price apparently still being held down by a whale doing a slow selloff of his funds, with NXT still on the launchpad instead of blasting off for da moon.  In a matter of weeks or a few months we could literally be in control of MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF NXT.   This is a HUGE HUGE HUGE responsibility.  Disbursing these assets is not like peeling off a five out of your wallet at McDonalds.  There has got to be a CHAIN OF COMMAND.  The treasurer has got to receive clear, unambiguous, and documented authorization to disburse from a SPECIFIC DESIGNATED SPENDING AUTHORITY that everybody acknowledges.

It's not as big a deal as making sure you've got Presidential authorization to turn that key in a nuke sub....but I'm treating it that way.  Would you rather have a treasurer who didn't?

I'm glad rickyjames is being conservative in distributing the funds.  The allocation of the community Nxt fund should be done with great care and thought.  Don't blow through all of it quickly.  The longer the funds are held the more valuable they will become and the more projects you can fund.

It's my belief that dollar parity is going to be here sooner than we all think.  Remember no more Nxt is being created.  We this happens the community will have $9 million at its disposal to fund projects.

Regardless of the USD value of the community Nxt fund remember, "You can only spend a dollar once."

Complete agreement, we don't need to rush this. I know a day can be a long time in crypto, but we are building something for the future here. Work smart, not just fast.

DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY TO HAVE NXT LISTED ON AN EXCHANGE!

THIS IS A MOVEMENT ABOUT FREEDOM FROM UNETHICAL PRACTICES!

NXT CAN STAND ON ITS OWN!

Sometimes, we have to push things a little bit. But this "pay to be on exchange" smells a little fishy, yes.
Bribing exchanges to list NXT is a very short sighted (not to mention unethical) strategy.
We can better spend our hard-won NXT on getting a package together to help exchanges with NXT integration. I have a feeling opticalcarrier was going to look into it...... it should be a priority, anyhow.
If we make listing NXT as simple as listing any one of the zillion scrypt coins, then exchanges will come 2 us.

And yeah, bloody Frictionless again......please be as unfriendly to him as possible:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422052.msg5237653#msg5237653
His idiot nex scam is only going to bring NXT harm.
It is his stated aim to destroy NXT, and while I am pretty sure he won't manage that, he could confuse people who may make the mistake of associating his scam attempt with us......

Lastly: I'm still claiming me and TwinWinNerd as winners of the first physical item purchase via NXT award, unless I see some evidence to the contrary.
@punkrock: did u sell your BF4 keys for NXT?
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: Nxt Reimagined - Industrial Strength - Imagine Fairness! on: February 20, 2014, 09:05:42 AM

Interested in being ripped off like cheap panties......

Have u even read this thread, and do u understand what is going on ?
1708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 20, 2014, 02:17:38 AM
I'm happy to announce that TwinWinNerD has just bought some of my lovely stickers.
Yay!
77 NXT for 5 stickers+postage, its a bargain.

Which made me think: Is this transaction the first time someone has purchased a physical item in exchange for NXT ?
I can't believe no-one has done it before us, but I don't remember seeing anything earlier on in this thread.

sorry, there were some video game sales a while back
Quick search mode.....aha:

Punkrock selling keys for BF4.....does a video game key count? And did he get NXT for them?
I still claim TwinWinNerD and myself for the first physical item transaction......we need to figure this out for the NXT history books.

Yesterday seems so far away:
Nice one, apenzl. Many +1s.

Lovely stickers....

Ok, I've made a plan for sticker distribution.
I've only got 98 left to get rid of, so I'm going to offer them in packets of 5 stickers, first come first served. These are test pieces, so I really want lots of people to see them and give some feedback on them before I start serious production.

get on over to
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.msg5247577#msg5247577
to place your order for these exquisitely handcrafted, soon to be collectors items.....

Anyone else who wants to offer promo material/ t-shirts/ monoliths etc...head on over to the marketing thread above and let's see what u got.....
1711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt marketing & promotion :: Enjoy Nxt on Bitcoinwisdom on: February 20, 2014, 12:12:41 AM

@Damelon: can u confirm that your proposed branding guys will be retaining much of our current typography/logos ?
Be good to get a few more guys together now, producing promo items/swag, but if logos are gonna be changed that could become wasted effort.

The current logo is a given. I've told them not to change it, as there is no need, we already use it, and it's good.

They will play with it, of course, but we should keep using it.

@Damelon: thats all i need to hear.....some variation within the community is fine, but we don't need to fork on the logos.
Psssst....wanna buy some stickers?

On a more serious note: I mailed the A'dam Bitcoin Conference people almost 3 weeks ago, but haven't heard anything back. Do you have time to give them a try ?

Here's my productivity for the day: some sweet shiny stickers:

Aren't they pretty ? I now have no idea what to do with them......like to distribute them to the NXT posse, but not sure how.

Any one want some, let me know.....I've only got a 100 so far, so it'll probably only be 5 or 10 stickers per person.
They are 140mm x 40 mm, btw.

The stickers cost me €45 / 100 so €0.45 per sticker, 5 stickers per packet is €2.25 euro + €1.25 European postage = €3.50.
So thats €3.50 or $4.80 or 77 NXT or....I'll take almost anything.
So, if u want some, drop me a PM, and we can work out the details.

I'm only sending to Europe at the moment, but if any one else wants to get these printed and distributed in the US (or wherever) feel free, the original printable .jpgs are on:
https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,2083.15.html
If u make money on them, give me some, but if it's purely for promo use, no worries.
marek3ball also deserves some love, as I used his 3d NXT logo render.

These are quite expensive per piece right now, but they are damn pretty.
If we order larger quantities we can get the prices much lower.
So, if u want to order serious amounts, get in touch. If the feedback is positive, I'll get more designs made up.
And we also have Fatih's excellent work:

Maybe I should just disable debug logging by default, it only makes people think something is wrong. The intention was to make it easier to follow what is going on with the block and transaction processing, in the cases where something does go wrong.

These questions will disappear after they have familiarized themselves with nxt-core. It's a process. It takes time.

Another issue:

many folks have the fear that they are on a branch/fork.

If you could find a way to demonstrate otherwise in the nxt.log. That would be great. Something like that:

Code:
[date] INFO: ....
[date] INFO: ....
[date] INFO: Fork probability: 0.01%
[date] INFO: ....
[date] INFO: ....
[date] INFO: Fork probability: 0.1%
[date] INFO: ....
[date] INFO: Fork probability: 14.2% WARNING
[date] INFO: ....
[date] INFO: ....

But, I fear that would greatly increase overhead at least for Raspis.

@J-L: Keep the debug logging on, I like seeing whats going on......

@ChuckOne: I find that u can almost always spot a fork by the number of unconfirmed transactions. If it ever gets over 20 or so, in my experience u are always on the wrong leg of a fork...and I've been there a few times.
Maybe u could just use the number of unconfirmed tx as a forking probabilty indicator ?

Guys,

would there be interest in promotional clothing and giveaways?

I've been in contact with my brother and he would be wiling to create several mockups and some samples at cost price.
At first it will be paid for by me and possibly a friend.

We're thinking about the following:

- T-shirts
- caps
- Umbrellas (those small foldable ones you can keep in your car)
- Sweaters (fleece)
- Scrafs

The clothing items would have a logo on the left side chest and no LARGE BANNERS on the back. All very classy. Something you could wear all the time. The umbrella would have a logo every other part on the top side.
The scarfs have a logo on the end. I have some samples at home from a company I used to have and every single one I handed out back then to friends and relatives is still being used today.

I think these items would have value at conventions and general gatherings / meetings.

One other possibility would be to sell them from a simple store at one of our sites (but that could be potentially difficult with distribution). The NXT that is gained from those sales could flow back into an operational account of some sort.

I know we are very much into decentralization, but some stuff needs to be taken care of in a more centralized manner to have some coherency.

Let me know what you think about this.

Mikes...welcome to Holland, mate.
Still playing catch-up with this thread, suggest that all NXT'ers with promo material projects (clothing, stickers, monoliths, commemorative beer-mugs, etc)  post on the marketing thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.760
This will give us a chance to get an overview of what we have available.

(BTW, more on my stickers soon.)

QUICK UPDATE

Atomic-Trade will be adding Nxt.  I'm paying for integration with my own funds since AT agreed to add USD/Nxt trade abilities.  This will allow any users to buy Nxt with USD directly.  Currently AT only offers USD/BTC trading, so we will have an advantage over other alts on the exchange. Also, when I get home this evening, expect Nxt to lead the voting in Mintpal Wink

that is big, thank you very much msin!

+10, this could be huge for NXT.

I'm in....even tho I'm very fond of every one of my NXTs, I'll drop 500 on Nxtopia.
It'll be an hour or 3 before I can do the transfer, but count me in.

Anyone already suggested using the SPECIAL character generation system ?
Dave-the-thick-as-pigshit-but-very-lucky-Barbarian coming up......

Nxtopia

Ezravdb, Damelon, EvilDave, Uniqueorn, and all other geeks/gamers -- let's do this!

Nxtopia is just a working title. I'm off for a little bit to go pick up my fiancé, but hopefully there will be other enthusiastic gamers here so we can start bringing a manageable shape to this idea.

I like.....i used to play games once, but then I discovered this thing called NXT that ate all my gaming time.....
Count me in...

In the future I can get the price down a lot if we order larger quantities.

Kodtycoon...don't sweat the price right now. Its good to see a stable sell-off like this. NXT is slowly rolling up and being sold off at the same time, which is a hard trick to do. I expect we will see a massive price surge when the whales stop/slow the sell-off, but when that will be....
