Nr 1 PC blew out it's PSU this time yesterday. Much diagnostics and wiring later..... Here I am again, on top of this Everest of a thread once more. I think we should keep it, btw, it's become such a central feature of NXT for me and many others. I do also think we should make an effort to hive more information off to the other 2 fora, keep them populated and allow small group, focused discussions, with an easy overview of specific topics. man keeping up with this thread is a third job
+10 Few thoughts about things: Voting. I cant believe that anyone would seriously propose to exclude annoying people from voting. Looking at u, eMule..... If he/she/it fulfils the criteria, let 'em vote. And eMule made a joke recently, too: I would like to have an audit on the DGEX exchange to prevent mtgox scenario!
I lol'ed, a bit.... MintPal. Got to give them credit for being straight about their inability to implement NXT: Hi Guys, Just an update on the NXT market at MintPal. We really regret to say that we won't be able to add it. While our scripts were largely working, we simply didn't have the confidence or understanding required for it, in comparison to Bitcoin and other altcoins, especially when it comes to handling trading. We will be refunding all voting payments in 48 hours automatically, though you can contact us if you require an alternative arrangement. Full announcement here - https://support.mintpal.com/index.php?module=announce&sec=view&id=7They get my vote for honest crypto types of the week. In a world of scammers, I appreciate the honesty. Pity for them that NXT AE is about to make exchanges completely obsolete.... I present: the amazing jl777 and his performing Doge gateway. Take my hat off to you mate. +all Open source. NXT rules. Engage....one month early. Seriously, I have a feeling that NXT is about to catch another wave in the next week or two. Things are going to move very quickly..... And thanks for the votes for Infrastructure Committee so far, it'll be an honour to serve. (probably) I'm going to upgrade VPS and private nodes in the next hour or so. Any 8.3 issues yet?

Just caught up with the thread, with a couple of short interruptions to pick my G/F up from the airport and for my No.1 PC to explode. I < expletive deleted> hate < expletive deleted> computers. I like the auroracoin/krona idea, though. Auroracoin would be easy enough, but how hard/legally tricky is it to set up the krona end of the equation? Set up some semi-random BTC/scryptcoin pairs in any case, may i suggest we just use the top 5 cryptos from a mining profitability calculator ? Like: http://cointweak.com/calculator/index/scryptMiiners love that shit, and will be very happy to get into bed with NXT if they can shift profitable coin that often has a limited number of exchanges available. Maybe we can then persuade them to host some nodes..... Going to be rebuilding stupid PCs after I get out of bed. Sleep tight, Europe. EDIT: +100 to the above.

Moving on quickly....back to marketing. Just had an idea, so I'm gonna quickly post it, then run away for an hour or 2..... NXT promotional vehicle. Beg/borrow/steal/hire a nice vehicle (I'm thinking Tesla roadster here, tbh) http://www.teslamotors.com/nl_NL/roadsterGet some NXT stickers/magnetic signs made up for it, then park it outside a conference. Perfect for Toronto, considering how much money they want to let people inside. Might work for Amsterdam, but I have a feeling parking spots could be a problem. But, Hell, I like go-fast, I'm gonna see if I can find one.....the Tesla is such a perfect fit for NXT, I'm loving this idea.

Agreed, but if they don't repay I say we spam all over that they stole from us and is utterly incompetent for not even being able to put NXT on their exchange like so many other exchanges.
Nah, the reddit hatred for NXT is ridiculous The guy claime we artifically kept NXT off exchanges on purpose to increase the price. As someone who is wokringhard and already succeeded in getting NXT on several exchanges, I will not tolerate that. If he got hit by a bus I would feel worse for the bus
How old are you? My money would be on early 20's. @ Unique: U need to chill just a little bit, at least on public forums. You've survived 2.5 months of idiots, haters and wankers. U've probably only got another 50 years to go.... Admittedly, he crypto community does seem to have more than it's fair share of idiots, but shouting and screaming at them doesn't make any f**king difference at all. Try sarcasm instead.....and just being right. And remember, everything u post is visible for eternity, in your role as an advocate for NXT. So stay cool, don't let stuff wind u up. If people are wondering about getting into NXT and the first thing they see on the forum/Reddit/wherever is a massive argument.....they'll probably go and buy some nice Auroracoin instead.

@Unique So, er..how's the article/press release coming on ?
I'm not up for getting in between u and salsa on this. Looks like there's stuff going on that's above my pay grade. But if u guys had a deal, it should be honored on both sides.
And yeah, salsa is getting well supported by NXT, but he also seems to be working full time for NXT. If u think that he's underperforming, bring it on up and we can debate it, but with PR its very difficult to to gauge results, unless u have an agreed performance metric, like sales or new account creation/client downloads/NXT price. Anyone got stats for new accounts, btw ? If we see a peak just after the Starcraft tournament.....

Here's the companies I've emailed concerning Klee's 1 million Nxt donation. Not only did I include a link to the press release, I also pointed the writers to information about Nxt on nxtcrypto.org.
Update 1:
Forbes Bleacher Report Irish Independent The Verge CNNMoney AllThingsd The Guardian Coindesk Tech Crunch IB Times Washington Post Digital Trends WSJ Wired LA Times Cinc. Business Courier Zdnet Entrepreneur Bloomberg VentureBeat Cnet
You'd be better off including a short piece about NXT as a part of the press release. Give them exactly want you want them to print, don't expect journalists to actually do some research. But +1 anyway, good work. Try the BBC news website, btw, lots of smaller newspapers and sites just steal stories directly from them.

The 2014 Bitcoin Conference Amsterdam 15-17 May!http://bitcoin2014.com/Info on sponsorship levels (ie stands): http://www.pdf-archive.com/2014/02/26/euros-bitcoin2014sponsorshipandexhibitoropportunities1/I'd like to propose myself and Damelon as official conference co-ordinators (if D. is up for it) I/We should bear the responsibility of making sure that this conference goes as smoothly and professionally as possible, with a minimum of last minute panic. Hopefully.... I know that May seems like a long way away, but its actually only 11 weeks to go...... So here is a short list of things to worry about: Sponsorship level: looks like 'Contributing Sponsor' level gives the most bang for our buck: Contributing sponsor ● Logo on conference website and Guidebook app on Sponsors page ● Full exhibitor package as outlined below with priority choice of exhibit placement ● 1 full conference registration included€1,500, including:Exhibitor Package: ● Includes flannel-walled exhibit stand with built-in spot lighting, your company name and tailor-made backwall image ● Sponsors will have first choice of exhibit placement and remaining spaces will be determined on a first-come basis. ● Additional services (flooring, furniture etc) can be tailored at the request of the exhibitor, if requested and paid in advance. An exhibitor brochure and services manual will be sent to all exhibitors ahead of the event. ● NB - Exhibitors are requested not to bring their own banners/stands but to make use of the existing built-in branding provided. Staff and content of stand requires pre-approval.Number of tickets. We get one full reg included with the above deal. Other tickets will cost €370-€420, so it's not cheap. Speakers/panel members/stand promo team. Need guys with serious knowledge to participate in panels, give talks. Less knowledgeable types such as myself can work the stand. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS, anyway. Promo material: clothing, brochures, biz cards, stickers, giveaways, RaspPiSolar.....any other ideas? Support: transport, accomodation etc for attendees. There's probably going to be a few more things to worry about, but these are the main points. I'm going to work on some more planning and a budget over the weekend. What I really, really want to see are some volunteers to work the event, give talks and go on panels. This is a repost from Nextcoin.org: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,4225.0.htmlIf u have anything concrete to add, please post/re-post in the Nextcoin.org thread. Ta very much.

Starcraft tournament was a week ago and still no report for Magazines althought it cost 25.000 Nxt? Wow, what a waste of Nxt. Somebodys butt needs to be kicked. On sort of the same topic: I don't like paid press releases much. It is basically a scam, u r just paying to go on a mailing list. Better to make a seriously good press release ourselves and see how far we can get with getting it published. If it turns out that we suck at PR, then hire a professional on a results basis.

Does the NRS have plans for an auto-update feature in the future? So we don't get nodes a few versions behind the latest one?
Maybe like a pop-up or some scrolling text somewhere that states "an update is available" or something along those lines.
It was planned at the beginning but it might not be anymore... Yeah I remember the talk from before... ... I just was asking since I remember seeing that there was someone still on NRS 0.4.* and got people on 0.7.5/0.7.6/0.8.0e/etc. this morning on the active nodes... Beware of centralization. Yeah...auto-update: everyone gets the same bug at the same time.

@opticalcarrier: how do you feel about setting up an exchange implementation group, as outlined below? Might be bounty in it for ya...... I vote that we don't. We have talented guys in NXT that have been helping with exchange implementation (opticalcarrier springs to mind, + others). If we spent the 100 kNXT bounty on financing these guys to set up an exchange implementation workgroup and get them to fully document their procedures, we can get a package together that will allow all exchanges to implement NXT without the technical problems that so many seem to be having.
Helping, documenting, spreading the implementation info and providing support will pay off way better in the long run than simple bribery. Again, if providing tech help doesn't cut it, then we can try bribery.
Don't forget, we just blew something like 2-3 BTC on MintPal and they then turned around and said: "Sorry , we don't understand NXT, how about some nice TeslaCoin instead? "
I say we offer them 20k Nxt for testing purposes along with the help of our devs. You could even tell Cryptsy that BTC38 and BTC-e are adding Nxt and vice versa. Tell them it was an easy implementation with the help of our devs.

Yep, no booth babes. It's just not NXT, as well as being sexist to the point of idiocy. Anyhow, back to A'dam: I'd like to propose myself and Damelon as official conference co-ordinators (if D. is up for it) We should bear the responsibility of making sure that this conference goes as smoothly and professionally as possible, with a minimum of last minute panic. I am on it, already submitted it to few sites. I am also registered at prweb, but they want $99-499 for one news release, bastards Yes, but they want money, but they get it published to finance.yahoo.com and other sites Again I think it's worth it. I have contacted 20+ big sites already, but if these people can GUARANTEE that it'll be published on some of the biggest news sites in the world then it's worth it in my opinion. Should be paid straight from the fund. Salsacz is already in control of a marketing fund, so if we're all in agreement on it I don't think that's a problem? Hold on a moment.....I know it's tempting to look at every marketing/PR issue as something that will be solved if you throw some money at it, but we should at least try to see how far we can get on our own before we throw money at outside agencies. The press release at the moment is one short page, focussing in the BPF and klee, with almost no information about NXT.Journalists are lazy bastards (or working to a tight deadline)so u can be sure that they won't bother doing any further research into NXT before posting a story that focusses exclusively on the BPF and maybe klee, with only a passing mention for NXT. I suggest that someone (not me, no time for next 3-4 days) expands the press release with lots of NXT info and maybe a little interview with klee, then we can start pushing it ourselves to news outlets, especially mainstream ones like the BBC and old-skool newspapers. If that doesn't work out, then we hand the improved press release over to the pros and open our wallets. This story doesn't have to run right now..... Talking of klee: tion to keep this ball rolling. We should ask the Cryptsy folks to document what was required to get NXT plugged into their system. Then we should turn right around to allwelder or some of the other Chinese NXT members and see that this info from Cryptsy gets communicated to BTX38.com in China. We need to be on both of these exchanges as soon as possible. It is the only way we are going to get exposure to a new pool of capital to buy NXT and get our exchange volume back up.
Good idea. Give them some bounty for it. I support this - a part of unclaimed funds should go as a bounty to cryptsy, btc38 and maybe btc-e (I hate these scammers but..). Let's move this shit forward, especially cryptsy (big volume) and btc38 (CNY/NXT). I suggest 100K nxt bounty. I'm going to put my vote here for NXT. This is gonna annoy some people, but most altcoins have almost no interesting or novel features. We have got to a stage where the only real differences are the number of coins to be issued and whether u have a panda or a penguin as mascot. Miners mostly don't even care about what they mine, as long as the diff is low. NXT is not based on any existing code, and is building an insanely innovative financial eco-system. Think Mastercoin/Ethereum/Ripple killer.....well worthy of a couple of pages in your book. Heres 2000 pages to start u off: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.0

1500 only if we had there running Raspberri Pi on solar energy on that table I think the RaspPiSolar is going to be our star attraction..... We have time enough to make it a good stand. Raspi is a must. Do we know some Dutch girls? I met one once..... It could put this on nxtforcharity.org. Should it be there or is it the wrong place? charity =/= foundation...
I'm not seeing this as charity, to be honest, so I'd say no.
