I'm sometimes surprised to see how crazy you people can be... leave the poor Loyce alone working on improving his AI stuff....

I can't even image how difficult it is.

It's just matter of convenience, but it is possible to bold text on the posts that matches the content/keyword? For example, if i use content/keyword "blockchain", all texts containing "blockchain" would be bolded automatically.
I think it is. I'll look at it later today.
What did happen to this? I was going to propose this, but I saw that it had already been mentioned...

It'd be a very helpful implementation to look for certain specific stuff so... refloating the petition!

Updated OP with the links to BTT and the Archive, now we can only wait and see what excuses they come up with....

(anyone taking bets on the family member one?)

I did see that thread; but the merit connection.... it did only go one way, and even if it was some sort of shitpost, that's too thin for me. But if anyone does know how to actually investigate that, feel welcome to do so
905  Economy / Reputation / Re: Thanasis -- Hacked account? on: November 11, 2020, 11:15:28 AM
And then after 2017 you can see Thanasis being active in Indian Cricket Premier League thread. Beside his newly found interest in Indian cricket, he also started using "kindly" and "sir", words he never used prior October 2017.
WOW, thanks for catching this one, it did help connect a couple of dots. Searching for telegram handles that this user has had over the years; I found that he joined a bounty campaign using the following handle:

Code:
@starbucks143

Doing another search for that handle, we find the following profile: akram143. Now, guess what.... this user is active in the 777coin signature campaign, and is active in Indian boards, and you guessed it too: cricket threads.

@CryptopreneurBrainboss may want to take a look at this, if the accounts are handled by the same user, he is abusing the sigcamp
906  Economy / Reputation / Re: Arcas -- Bought account? on: November 11, 2020, 10:32:56 AM
This one is not valid; it did belong to a physicall bitcoin, but at the end of the very same thread quoted, we can see that it was sold to Fruitmandje. Or at least it looks that way
907  Economy / Reputation / Re: Arcas -- Bought account? on: November 11, 2020, 12:49:18 AM

And you are.... who exactly?
908  Economy / Reputation / Re: Arcas -- Bought account? on: November 11, 2020, 12:09:18 AM
----
Well, what's worrying is that he has a +9 green trust rating beside the many untrusted positives. A quick search relates that account with aomakun; both users have only sent 2 merit units and it's been between them.

This aomakun guy also changed his password earlie this year, in february. Used to post a lot in Indonesian boards, but 0 activity there since 2018. Post quality/english was not the greatest and that hasn't changed, but posting boards sure have. This may even be the next account used to try to extor another casino
909  Economy / Reputation / Thanasis -- Hacked account? on: November 10, 2020, 11:56:56 PM
After reading the last post from the Pharmacist on the "Arcas -- bought account?" thread, I tought: Well, I do indeed have shitload time to waste, so why don't I do a quick check on some random profiles I come accross and if something seems off, I may dig a bit deeper to see if there's something there? And earlier than expected, I already have my first candidate

Forum Hero Member Thanasis. I found this profile rather randomly, as he replied to the 777 signature campaign with one of those asslicking "thank you for accepting me sir" post. Side note; I'm not saying that thanking the campaign manager is a bad thing; but there are ways of doing it; I don't want to sound ungrateful. After a couple of things that raised some minor flags, I found the following:

Hypothesis:
This account was most likely hacked and then sold during the months of September/October 2017. From the post history, there's no reason or indication that leads me to believe that the user sold the account willingly; but that's pure speculation.

-BPIP doesn't show any password/email change at that time, but I'm not sure how far back the records go (@suchmoon I'd appreciate a little clarification there; altough I'll try to find that as soon as I finish this thread).

The user before October 2017
  • This user did most of his posting in a thread he himself had created, called Thanasis Collection Pack there, he sold some bots he had programmed and used to answer to doubts that arose on the thread.
  • Spoke in a native or at least really good english
  • There's no signature campaign application or a single post made on the service board
  • 2 Bitcoin addresses mentioned in the bot selling thread: 3NMF6K93oFEzkN74gfHbPkyDs26mL4hbHa and 13j4F6LmXsb3mth3DZMpe3QmpyXtWKKoP1

The user after October 2017 (included)
  • Starts posting on spam boards
  • Never replies to his bot selling thread again
  • English turns form good to broken
  • Starts applying to signature campaigns
  • Starts posting with "sir" in the sentences

As with the other thread; most of this content, call it proof or evidence if you want to, is highly subjective. A user changing posting habits or changin the way they talk is not a flag per se, and it's something that can happen organically. But when you look paying a bit of attention to some things, do stand up.

If anyone feels like checking; the posting changes happen on post 2470; post history page 124.

I will not jump into conclusions too fast and start tagging accounts because my gut is telling me they are using a sold/hacked account; but this is a forum, and after some discussion, and if the account involved doesn't come forward, it will most likely be the right thing to do.

Why don't you report his posts to the mods as "off-topic"? If they were as 'dealing' the conversation as you mentioned, would get deleted. Regarding asking for a signed message, they would simply come out with an excuse "I lost access to that wallet" and sign with an address staked by the new owner.
Most of the times, I arrive late to the party. It makes sense to report an offtopic/trolling post when it has just been created, but if it has been aswered 7/8 times.... chances it gets deleted are rather slim.

Right there should be enough proof to know the account changed hands but who knows they could also say "I moved to Indonesia in that year".
And it's up to us to not believe this kind of BS

Password for this account was changed on 9/4/2020 2:19:56 PM and that was the moment he purchased this account.
I did see that password change in BPIP; but since it was not something that happened during any inactivity interval, I was not really sure as to how to read that.

---
I noticed this user because he was pissing me off just by reading his replies, and thanks to both BPIP and the Ninjastic website, I did a little diggin and well, it was something rather obvious even without the evidence.

Not sure about that message being for me or for notblox, but to clear things up, BPIP extension shows that we both are DT2 with a strenght of 1

This is just fucking hilarious. Is malboroza also an alt account of LFC because they left the same tag? Or is LFC an alt of malboroza?

Congratulations man, I think you've just discovered a very dangerous account farming operation!

Yesterday, ahortly after creating this thread, I did also PM both users that had ledt positive feedback in the past and were currently in DT; because the big +2 could be very misleading to everything really. I've just check my PMs and they both agreed to remove it and maybe take a look into the account in the nearby future
914  Economy / Goods / Re: crypto cruise ship on: November 10, 2020, 08:06:15 AM
---
I'd have never tought I'd ever answer this in a Bitcoin forum, but what a funny thing; iy's going to happen. I'll try to give the short answer tough.

Legal lines are defined based on the distance from the coastline; so you have 3 different zones before reaching international water: coastal water, territorial waters (coastal to 12 miles) and the Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ) (12-200 miles). I'm also writing this by heart in the middle of a lecture, so some definitions may change a bit from the actual ones; but that's not the point...

Since coastal and territorial waters are the one real close to shore, they are of no importance to this thread, except for when the ship is going to port. This cruise will most likely operate on International waters. Taxes and law enforcement agencies can still board your ship and even detain it inside the EEZ, and that wouldn't be very good for our felow crypto enthusiasts.

Once outside the EEZ, International waters, the laws and regulations from the flag state are still applied; and are actually the only ones applied and are enforced mostly by the crew and any private security that may be hired. It's the closest one will ever get when a captain was the judge, police and a couple more things; that no longer happen in practice. There's a small issue I see to this tough; and it's the actual depth of the international waters.

Many people may not be aware of that, but ships can't actually anchor anyway; the lenght of the required chain to anchor in a 400 meter depth area would be too big, with the weigh that would have, so ships can only anchor in rather shallow areas. Knowing that, I'm prone to believe that the ship would be left adrift most of the time, which raises a couple of flags inside of me from a navigational security standpoint. Fuel consumption will be huge too; so some sort of hybrid clean energy plant would be a great idea to reduce the amount of electricity that the diesel generators would need to produce.

And even if this last part is mostly speculative, I can always be corrected; because we are all here to learn new stuff (or at least I hope so).

PS: Starting to speculate.... setting up a mining farm close to the keel might be a good idea here. The only downside is that the electricity would be supplied by the generators (and that costs fuel), and that the satellit internet is not usually the best of the best. Otherwise, you have a huge area that would have a great natural refrigeration system; you could just set up some lines and with a "small" pump, keep the water running so that it never overheats...

I had figured that it was either GP or CH; but haven't been able to find any definitive link between them

(and if it reqlly was GP, it's odd that I've seen a total of 0 "mentally ill" or "difamation" sentences...)
916  Economy / Reputation / Arcas -- Bought account? on: November 10, 2020, 12:35:17 AM
Since I've kept bumping into this troll/moron that is constantly derailing threads in a small attempt for attention, I've decided to do some digging, to try to get the few people that left positive feedbacks at least change it to neutral so that it doesn't "legitimate" the account in the eyes of the untrained, and to try to find the connection between this bought account and any banned one, proving a ban evasion and until the clown gets another account to derail threads with, get rid of him. Let's see what I've found so far:

User profile

-There are posting gaps between:
  • October 05, 2019 to February 11, 2020
  • October 22, 2018 to October 02, 2019
  • April 27, 2016 to March 10, 2017

Judging (and now this is all pure speculation), we can assume that the account changed hands at least one time; and most likely twice.

The first change took place between the 2016-2017 interval. Reasons coming right here:

Before 2016
This user was mostly active in:
  • Wall Observer
  • Selling goods (a lot of computer hardware)
  • Never posted in Indonesia board
  • Had only posted a few times in the Altcoin boards (2014 last)
  • Shipping of his products were either calculated to the US or restricted to the US
  • Used the 1ArcasN3xcUHyZraWJpgrq7AkzKBHncmNf addy
  • Posted like a regular person and seemed to mind their own business

When the user started posting again in 2017:
  • Suddenly spoke a lot of Indonesian
  • Posted a lot in altcoin sections, mostly Indonesian local ones
  • No activity in the WO thread
  • Nothing new listed for sale in the Goods boards
  • Pyramid quotes

These alone may be enough for most users, some may be more intuition than anything, but when you put them together, they kind of make you think. And after that, the account is active until the 5th of October 2019, day in which the last post in Indonesian is made.

On the next and last period:
  • Account starts posting in spam sections
  • Starts speaking in a very broken english
  • Starts posting a lot in the gambling board on September 2020
  • At the end of September a hostile attitude towards every casino begins

Somewhere mid-September, however, there's a sudden improvement from a very broken english to the one a non-native would use; but that may be a simple assumption. It could mean a third change of hands, altough I'm not that confident about it.

What we have so far:

The account changed hands at least once in the interval between 2016 and 2017. Knowing that, any feedback prior to 2017 should be revoked, to prevent any misleading positives on a person that is no longer behind the account.
Unless a signed message from 1ArcasN3xcUHyZraWJpgrq7AkzKBHncmNf is provided, it's safe to assume that this account has been either hacked or sold, so people please, act accordingly.

Besides these little things, I couldn't actually find any links between an already banned account and this specific account; but if anyone with better investigation skills wants to give it a try, feel free and welcome to do so.

And yes, I know that the troll must not be fed, but I'm a bit fed up about seeing threads getting derailed; and it's not really up to hitting the ignore button on my end, because he keeps on getting replies

I was going to point this out earlier, but forgot (sorry for the intrusion). There are a couple of small typos on the OP:

-Consolidation Consolation prize
-We (Betnomi or me) deserve (reserve the) right

And that'd be it Smiley Sorry for pointing it out/being such a pain in the ass; but as a translator... sometimes the proofreader inside of me arises

Absolutamente la misma que con el resto de las altcoins; perdida de tiempo y dinero. El trading es una forma más de apostar que solo le sale bien a unos pocos con suerte o con capacidad de manipular mercados.
920  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Question about sign message. on: November 09, 2020, 07:02:15 PM
---
A single private key can generate native segwit, nested segwit and legacy addresses. It all depends on the derivation path you choose on your Electrum wallet. And it's not strange that legacy address shown isn't familiar to OP; there are too many to know them all. Even your current wallet doesn't show all the possible addresses; and unless you have some different range or settings, you will never see them all.

This thread has made me think, however. In this case, is the signature created by electrum or ledger? AFAIK the private keys never leave the HW, and thus, the signature is created there. But if it's created on the device; would you be able to verify it on Electrum, or only on Electrum with a HW device connected? Or should that HW be a Ledger one? Or could it be verified from any Electrum with no HW attached?
