Why would i rank DeFi Tokens under Crypto Coins  Huh They are two separate categories. Even coinmarketcap acknowledge that.
It is basically comparing apples with oranges.

You don't really like my overview, do you ?   Roll Eyes

acknowledge? here is the front page where all is mixed. token/coins all there. admit it dash is kicked out of top 20 and is about to exit top 30....well so much for 2 market cycles. dash is a 3rd tier shitcoin in the making  Wink

Dash increased marketcap and decreased (improved) its 'Down from ATH' price percentage

Marketcap                    : from $775,480,260
                                     to     $842,807,304

Price Down from ATH % : from 95,10%
                                      to     94,70%

Next Top 20 Crypto Assets, ranked according marketcap and category overview : 1st of October 2020
Planned Time Interval : Monthly

Note : I learned something new today, coinmarketcap also ranks on DeFi Tokens --> https://coinmarketcap.com/defi/ so i included DeFi Tokens as a separate category in my overview. I only took the top 4 DeFi Tokens,
as those became a bit of a hype lately. Also i changed the title of my overview to 'Top 20 Crypto Assets, ranked according marketcap and category'.

Buying speculative tokens at exchange probably is better than going into an early defi platform like uniswap, sushiswap etc. because its just getting more and more complicated (reminds me of derivitives) and these projects are either going the moon or zero.

it is like 2013 in the "defi region" inside ETH eco-space, there will be big winners in there mid-longterm or the next big thing in defi is still about to come. sadly no POW in there

At one moment, I was thinking why buy 5700XT if farming makes more money, no worries about electricity bills.... then thats when I ponder on the big question.... what's the difference in MINING and FARMING?  Roll Eyes

we all are computer/electricity tinkers here, but the reality is people like us are 1 is to 1000 (probably more)..majority just knows how to use computers and they are better off in POS or digital farming, and they compose the larger chunk of the crypto economy.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: September 01, 2020, 03:38:32 AM
BTW remember the time when 1 BTC is 1 1080ti GPU? then miners go out on GPU buying spree...now ETH is beginning to look like this.

what if ETH does that? might be good to hold some for a moon shot? we'll see how far can this one go hmmm..

also always look for another asset class that will make money, good things comes in ebbs and flows or a sure end.

I got a property that was purchased last bull market, going to fix it with $1000-2000 worth of expenses, rental would be minimum $300 a month..this is my version of other miners "solar energy" here.

Back in late 2017... early 2018 the prices for many GPUs were inflated but not that much. If I recall people were paying $1000 or so for the 1080 (or 1080Ti) and that's about it. I think they were retailing for $700 from the factory.

I think what were the bigger rip-offs were the RX 470 cards that people bought in 2016 and were trying to sell for like $300-400. But back then everybody was crazy about crypto. It was on the news pretty much non-stop in some way and not a surprise it ended badly.

bought an ink set for my printer yesterday in a local computer shop and found some 5700xt on the shelf.

me..

Edit : Thank you for bumping this thread ariel, much appreciated. Your thread bumping efforts have not gone unnoticed, my little mermaid. And just to be clear, we are not paying ariel for the bumping at all.

so this is how your dash gatekeeper qwizzie succumbs to my power hehehe..argument stance falls to "you bump our thread you lose" ha..ha..ha..ha  Grin

Talking about marketcap and price, i wonder who is willing to pay $35,824 for one single YFI token  Roll Eyes

Not only is this perfectly normal to see on coinmarketcap, it also highlights the weakness of using coinmarketcap to value and rate cryptocurrencies as circulating supply clearly has an extremely high
weighing factor there on both price and marketcap.

Conclusion : cryptocurrencies should not be valued on marketcap rank or price alone, but should be valued / rated in combination with other market factors (number of transactions growth,
number of users growth, number of active addresses growth, traded volume growth, development activity).

If we don't take those other market factors into account, we may as well crown Yearn Finance (YFI) as king of all cryptocurrencies, as it has the highest price (much much higher then Bitcoin).

LOL...another one overtakes DASH  Cheesy  ...makes your masternode ponzi obsolete and dash turds uncomfortable.... because new and better ponzi arises hehe

not really watching but looking now..............jeez dash is 1/2 of monero marketcap now LOL...many more will overtake dash, watch and learn  Grin

5600XT 39.5mhs@74w gpu-z, 135w total rig at the wall power Gold PSU, 40w total rig power idle, so roughly total 100w for the GPU.  2.53 watts/hash.  VS Polaris closer to 4w/mhs.  50-60% improvement in efficiency easy.  I call that a win.  Now price per mhs thats another story...Honestly can't wait to see what the 80cu Navi RDNA2 will look like, i.e. "big navi".

radeon VII can do 100mhs, big navi should do more than that.

lol at nvidia 3080 at 10gb and 3090 at 24gb and no 16gb middle ground hehe, if 3090 can't do 100mhs or more maybe big navi will be my next upgrade.
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 29, 2020, 04:20:29 PM
.. ultimately failed their own investment strategy ..

... in late 2015 when I was looking if I should invest in Dash or not.

Thanks God, I did my own research and did not follow their “sound advice”.

LOL so it is about money now, "investment?" hehe

we all know that I favor XMR over dash, now XMR looks a lot better than dash

and let me add this BTW..  Wink

Thanks for the info! I'm mining right now around 13 Mh/s. It's severely non-profitable. Which has me wondering why? Even more so, why are so many people hashing away and perfectly fine with losing money? Faith?

That depends on your power price and hardware.

lol youd be better off mining a coin with a lower diff with that hashrate....

Lower diff usually means lower price. Not that there aren't more profitable X11 coins to mine than DASH, currently. IMO, it's stupid to mine DASH in this case, even if you want DASH - instead, mine something else, sell it, buy DASH, and you end up with more DASH than you would have had, had you mined it directly.

Wolf0 is right mine other coin.......no more coins, better buy..it is all about buying the coins produced by the POS masternodes. POW is still there to make dash look more legit.

try ethereum it is more profitable, the coins move so fast dash's instantx is not that great anymore  Wink

how many "investment multipliers" did the ETH investors get? investment my ass  Grin LOL..

the people who sold dash early on due to dash being not private anymore and choose fiat, lost investment opportunity. But those who choose XMR did really well..

so no use on using the "investment" card on my statements  Tongue

nowhere to run now boys? hehe, nobody debunked my expose?, use the "troll" card and the "investment" card...lame ass

Ethereum is still profitable to mine 5 years straight and the price is higher than dash, meanwhile dash is always reducing miner rewards to artificially increase the value of dash, LOL pathetic dash scam money.

Yep, Dash still the most viewed and replied thread in the Announcements (Altcoins) section of this Bitcointalk forum.

useless rant...

dash is 6878 pages..
monero is 2081 pages - obviously better than dash
ethereum is 1250 pages - obviously better than dash
espers 816 pages - dead shitcoin that only finished a logo and is now only developing a new logo LOL

do the math..and watch your stupidity hehe
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 25, 2020, 11:37:49 AM
Thank you for confirming to us that you are indeed a troll that views Dash as nothing more then a 'shitcoin' and who now views all altcoins as 'shitcoins' as well.
I hear the ignore button clicking already  Grin

I guess ariel has become a bit of a maximalist these days
Link : https://blog.liquid.com/what-is-bitcoin-maximalism

They sure are a dull bunch, those maximalists.

LOL why would i say "sifting"? why would i sift through? because there are profitable shitcoins...you really can't read between the lines do you?

just like you we are in this for profit, hence "profit maximalist" or "money maximalist".. if you think about it satoshi nakamoto even made a magic internet money because he is a "money maximalist", wanted a sound money, not a scam money. DASH is a scam money.

and you are a dash scam maximalist  Tongue

we are all in this for the money whether you deny it or not.

BTW you turned to attack me instead of debunking my post....hehe that post was never debunked..these dash rats always run away from my expose, even encouraging readers to push the ignore button to not be able to read my expose
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 25, 2020, 11:01:39 AM
old stuff

Is this really all what trolls can come up with, these days ?
Old stuff from 2013 ? Really ? Old stuff that obviously got obsolete when Evan Duffield started this crypto project in 2014.
(after all this crypto project was never merge mined).

Looks like a certain mermaid troll is still butt hurt that Dash took over the Dashcoin (DSH) Github, during our rebranding from Darkcoin to Dash.

We can't help it that your main developer lost interest in his Dashcoin (DSH) project and sold his Github access to us, ariel. Thereby dooming
your little Dashcoin (DSH) community, which you were part of. At one point you will need to get over it and move on.
Trolling our forum won't really help you, it will just encourage people to put the ignore button on you.

arielbit, a troll trolling Dash since 2015. Trolling is such a waste of time and energy. Keeping the trolling up for 5 years is beyond pathetic though, it is unhealthy.
Maybe you should find some professional help ariel.

can you read between the lines?...things that is implied but not stated?..

"merge mined".. you can argue that masternodes are not miners (technically speaking) but masternodes earn coins just like a dash ASIC
miner.

"merge mined" word implies at least two ways of earning coins.. masternodes earn coins and mining earns coins

the first two months of DASH as I posted above shows "actions speaks louder than words" scenario showing masternodes as the second mining/coin generating/earning mechanism.

old stuff?...I just said "manifesting" and "playing out"...that's present!  Tongue

BTW thank you for acknowledging shady backdoor deals that DASH team has done in the past to steal a coin's name LOL

qwizzie just remember to sell your masternodes in the peak bull market so you can exit this scam and be rich like the DASH founder evan and his side kick and his minions and friends when they exited.  Wink

"our forum"?? LOL this is bitcointalk, this shitcoin is in the shitcoin announcement section, while sifting through shitcoins, your shitcoin is one click away...for me? why not? an occasional truth and enlightenment shared for those who are unknowing  Grin

you can't bury the truth, the truth will always find a way to come out.

In short the project will be a merge-mined altcoin
--snip--

"merged-mined" from evan's own mouth. how can you debunk that? hahaha, nobody debunked this shit  Tongue

merge mining plans... then istamine ... then reduce supply ... then accumulate ...then implement masternodes ...then control decisions to cut mining rewards and rule like pump and dump authoritarians.

the shit is as clear as day.
932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 25, 2020, 07:17:56 AM
so the scam is slowly manifesting itself hehehe

people may not have look at the beginnings...but at present time it clearly shows how things are playing out  Wink

Why would anybody invest in mining DASH when it is unprofitable even with $0.03 price of electricity?  Nobody will waste money just like that. DASH is profitable, but only and only if you posses masternodes in equal or bigger percentage of your part in hashrate. That is a catch. Big holders whose posses a lot of masternodes due to 45-45% sharing mining reward betweeen miners and masternodes operators have a huge leverage to push price way down of pure miners profit zone, removed them for market and completely dominate mining, market supply and price of coin.Such concentracion of power is always very bad for coin.

There is no miner who will put significant money into DASH masternodes in the time of bear market. They cant afford it. But big whales with a lot of money can afford it.Because of such huge mastenodes reward they can push out regular miners and take control of market, masternodes and mining operations - full control of coin which put them in such nice position to accumulate a lot of very cheap coins(which precedes every bull run) and make another  pump/dump in the time they want. Something similar happens with other coins, but because there are no such hefty masternodes reward, whales are much more careful to maintain network running safely with some profit for regular miners.

Old blockreward allocation split  : 45% masternodes / 45% miners / 10% budget
New blockreward allocation split : 54% masternodes / 36% miners / 10% budget

Dash Core Group will also introduce a new decision proposal within a month, that contains the following :

Blockreward reallocation split of 48% Masternodes / 32% Miners / 20% Budget.

DASH Masternodes - the perfect motive for the instamine
Why did Evan Duffield and his friends orchestrate the instamine?

Why grab many coins? change block reward schedule and reduce the total coin supply from 84 Million to 18 Million?

Masternodes are the best coin generators/miners/earners since it became online and do POS. Having them is like having a huge mining farm with minimal cost of operating.

With reduced coin supply making the instamine loot a bigger percentage of the existing coinage and will generate more coins than miners thru POS.

That was also the reason why Evan Duffield deceptively hides the concept of POS masternodes from the public before launching Xcoin and more than a month after Xcoin was launched...to accumulate coins for himself and his friends

Was the instamine really an accident? Let's take look at Evan and what he has said in the past..check the dates

this was before Xcoin was put in the ANN section in January 18,2014.

Hello,

We’re a startup looking for 1 or 2 really good C++ programmer that is
familiar with the bitcoin internals to help with a for-profit startup.

We will be able to provide more information about the project after signing
a non-compete/non-disclosure agreement. Our coin will be one of the truly
unique coins that are not just a clone of the original Bitcoin code. In
short the project will be a merge-mined altcoin that will provide a very
useful service to the whole crypto-coin ecosystem.

If you have added any features to Bitcoin or related technologies this is a
definite bonus. Please include information about the work you’re done in
the space.

We have detailed plans on how to implement it and the roles we are looking to fill. If interested please email eduffield82 at gmail.com with a description of your work experience and we’ll vett the applications and share our plans to see if you’re interested.

Thanks,

Evan & Kyle

merged-mined?.....proof of work (POW) and POS masternodes

January 20, 2014 ..48 hours after the instamine

Great, now that everything is stable, I'll be posting later about the vision of this project and milestones! Time to move on to actually implementing what I set out to do.

just to grab an idea on the accumulation phase..

wut.. no premine but you have 5k to throw?  Huh

WTB 20,000 Darkcoin for 1 BTC, PM me!

Looking to buy 10000 DRK, PM Me your offers!

----more than a month after the instamine----

remember before February 21, 2014, Evan already forked DASH from 84 Million supply to 18 Million..

clearly he is still not planning to tell the public about the masternodes in February 21, 2014 but since a guy asked him in reddit he was forced to speak about it....

In reply to: http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/1yit1a/using_coinjoin_for_anonymity_is_errorprone/

Masters

To defeat propagation problems, master nodes are elected each new block. They are responsible for being the authority of what goes into the joined transaction each session. This is done in a tamperproof way, but I think it’s not important to the discussion.

--snip--

why is it not important to discussion? can't get enough?

Evan has POS masternode plans but he didn't say what it was until he and his friends accumulated enough and POS the coins in Masternodes.

DASH instamine was real, it never was an accident.

NOTE:
If you are looking for numbers, here is the thread for you Why the darkcoin/dash/dashpay instamine matters

P.S. you might want to take a look at the persons who had love at first sight of DASH and why it looks fishy for me.

Hey everyone, is anyone currently dual mining ETH + other coin?  I think options are pretty limited with both Phoenix & Claymore, but are there other miners out there that can effectively do ETH + other profitable algos like MTP, Cuckoo, KawPow, Beam, etc?

Assuming my 1070ti rigs would be much better at dual mining vs my 470's but not sure if it's worth it.

I always have tried to keep it simple and never did a lot of dual mining.

Yeah i hear ya Phil... back when i first started mining in 2016, i was dual mining ETH + DCR and actually made a pretty good profit on the DCR portion. Although, I unfortunately didn't realize i could dual mine until about 6 months in, so probably lost several thousand in profit from that oversight, but i digress...

To me, it' all about the "extra work to potential incremental profit" ratio.  So, if it's just a few more cents per day but you have to change miners and manage another pool, it's just not worth the effort.  But, if the extra profit is significant, then maybe it's worth that extra work.

I did just find a site "MinerStat" that shows a lot more algos than whattomine, but looks like the best dual mine is ETH + ZIL, which only nets like 50 cents more per day (for 12 1070ti's), so clearly not worth it for that small amount.

those dual minable algos were profitable when they are not yet fpga'd and/or asic'd

multiple rails are bad for mining troubleshooting and maintenance, it adds another layer of "things that might be fucking with you" lol.

i had a 1500w thermaltake psu (multiple rail) back then, can't mine if 4 gpus are plugged (doesn't matter how low the power draw of my 280x's), works with 3 cards.

..so there is no reason for envy...

higher voltage? check with voltmeter or msi afterburner?

Yes I am starting to think this might be the issue. I will disassemble and measure the PCIe voltage and see if its +12V.

might wanna check the voltage too while running.

if it is a high voltage thing maybe undervolting in settings the overheating card might solve the issue.
