Yes, I've heard about that as well that Donaire's wife, Rachel, had a beef with the Donaire Sr. in the past or should I say still have it.

For what it's worth, hopefully there will be time that both of them will forgive each other and decides to put the past behind them as they approach the future. I know it's hard because nobody deserved to be in that position as that is literally painful and will surely take time before the wound will heal itself. I don't know what causes them to be in this situation but hopefully, they will find the peace soon.

In this situation, if Nonito would not reconcile with his father, nothing will happen. It should be the son who will make the move, regardless of what the misunderstanding is. However, that is very complicated, and as a fan who does not know what really happened between the two, I'm pretty sure what we heard and read in the media is not the full story and could just be one-sided. So, let's just hope that one day they'll reconcile again as life is too short.

Nonito could continue boxing if he wants, but as a fan who saw his performance against Santiago, I hope he'll consider retirement.
If there is a reconciliation, maybe someone in the middle should be involved, a person that is very close to them so that they can patch things up and move along with their lives specially that Nonito Junior might be in the end of his career and of course if that happens then he can recollect the memories and see that at one time, his father was really very instrumental in the beginning of his career. And who will forget how to knockout Vic Darchy and you can see his father and brother at his side very proud of his accomplishments that time. Just very sad that when Rachel enter into his life which is supposed to make Junior happy everything went sour with his relationships with his father.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 04, 2023, 04:35:20 AM
Ok we might as well get back to the Charlo again, as last weekend we have seen them in the crowd against Crawford. But they have seen how Crawford beat their boy Spence so for sure they wanted to get back in the ring ASAP.

And Jermell said that they have the recipe to beat Canelo, hehehe.

But we will see, he will be jumping 2 weight class to chase a bigger paycheck against the cash cow Canelo.

Hmm.. 2 weight class division jump, isn't this too much? Oh well we never know Manny did jump 2 weight class and dominates the division but I do not think this will also be the case here.  Canelo is very convenient fighting in his weight Division and can even go higher in weight division so I think Jermell Charlo is asking for a beating here.  I am also expecting a boring fight here but who knows, maybe Canelo will overpower and KO Jermell here because of his natural weight advantage.
His twin, who is supposedly the original boxer scheduled to fought Alvarez campaigns at 160 lbs. So most likely Jermell body can accommodate as high as 168 lbs too. Manny Pacquiao is very different though, he started the whole era of jumping in weight class. But I doubt that someone can replicate what he had done because he is a legend.

I would disagree about the boring fight, Canelo wanted to make a statement that he is the cash cow and so with that, for sure he will try to go for a knockout to shut the mouth of this Charlo twins.

To Non English Users
Mistake is inevitable, if there is no mistake there is no correction, that is, people make mistake and through the mistake, corrections are made. Most users submit their post without cross checking the write up. So in many times omissions occurred and some ungrammatical statement occurred and English speaking users see them as trash, shit post without correction. It is better you reread you work before posting to avoid mistake. Be a good poster. Avoid mistake. But mistake is inevitable. It most come but not always.

I think there is also an app that will check for the spelling and grammar. However, the thoughts itself can't be check so it's very important if you are a non-English speaker to really check everything first.

And even if you have push the Post button, and then you find something wrong, you can easily edit it again, just saying.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 03, 2023, 12:47:41 PM
Hey y'all...Seriously, I've been having this running through my mind.. maybe it's been discussed but this is on a diverse objective.
Why is it that we tend to have alot of men inclined and addicted to gambling than women? Is there any mystery guiding that?
I mean, You ain't gonna telme that everyone isn't roofed by this economic crises - both gender to speak of - so what's so special about men gambling?? Alot of cases has been reported several times too - and y'all end up realizing that MEN are usually involved in very many critical cases... What's that validating? That men are really taking the whole thing personal??

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
The only explanation that I've read is that women is risk averse,

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/risk-averse

Quote
adverb
reluctant to take risks; tending to avoid risks as much as possible:
risk-averse entrepreneurs.

of or noting a person who invests in stocks, bonds, etc., with lower risks and generally lower rates of return so as to minimize the possibility of financial loss:
risk-averse investors who stick with government bonds.

And I do believed that this is the case, at least from the women that I've talk about gambling. Although I've seen girls and women at any age gamble in land based casinos, still they are outnumbered by men as we take a lot of risk.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 03, 2023, 12:05:42 PM
It's gonna be another Nonito Donaire I guess lol. But I really hope they give us both a fight that we can enjoy.
There's a possibility that we will witness the same, but one thing I'm sure about Tapales is that he will come to fight. He is not like other boxers who will just fight Inoue and hope to survive. Both Tapales and Inoue are considered warriors, and obviously, Inoue has the upper hand since he has more advanced skills and power. However, you never know, upsets can happen in boxing.
Did he mean another Filipino knockout for Inoue? It's possible, but I doubt that it will 2nd round knockout. For sure Tapales, has witnessed Inoue's power first hand so they might devised a different strategy in this fight. But it could be the same results though.

Although Tapales is a Filipino, it doesn't mean we should blindly support him. As gamblers, we know that if he weren't a Filipino, we would choose Inoue as he is the better fighter. I'm speaking from the standpoint of a gambler rather than just a pure fan.
There are really fans that supports and backs their boxers, not matter what. Even if they blindly bet for their guy to win, even if the odds are pretty much stack against them, just like in this case and you can't blame them for supporting Tapales to go and win in an upset.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 03, 2023, 11:23:59 AM
Brian Windhorst came out and said that no other teams outside of Miami have come forward to seriously make a trade offer for Damian Lillard. I’m not sure if it’s his contract, his age, or other teams are just trying to respect his wishes to end up in Miami, but it’s starting to look like Lillard might be a Trailblazer next season. I’m not sure how good that will be for his reputation if he’s disgruntled after being labeled as the most loyal player in the NBA.
Perhaps when the news came out that he wanted his destination to be Miami, then teams are no longer interested on him. And then know that it might take a lot of players to be involved in the trade, and future picks too and they don't want to take that risk as Dame is already injury prone in the last 2 years of his career.

And if he ended up to nothing or still be in Portland, then we will see if he is going to sit out or give it one more try. He will be tested with his current situation, and we can only hope that he will be ending up in a team that he wanted to play.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 03, 2023, 11:05:15 AM
I noticed that when I start to play games like keno, limbo, dice, etc. First some bets don't hit and after wagering some percentage of my balance it starts to hit,
How it works? like when we wager we have more probability to hit win, anyone noticed this? Do you know how it works and what is the calculation behind it?, do server sends outcomes by checking our wager?
As much as I also believed this is the case, I wouldn't stay away with that mindset though. I mean the games you played are purely based on luck, so it doesn't matter if you bet small or increased the size of your bet.

Even in traditional based casinos, I see someone hits a good winning or bonus without putting much of a bet, or just the minimum. But on the other hand, the one sitting on his side, is playing a max bet but doesn't hit any, even on a normal spin.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 06:38:55 PM
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

No matter what happens to them in the Lakers this season, they have already done their job and won the championship because that's just all that it matters when you are with the Superteam trying to be a contender in the NBA league. It will be more amazing when they can get back to the NBA playoffs this season because they easily made a great run last season and also beat the defending champion easily. The worse thing they did was signed Westbrook despite having multiple stars that can help them with the championship again last season.

But some fans are saying that what they did was not enough because the last time they won the championship was in the middle of Covid pandemic where they had in-house games with a lot of rules to prevent Covid-19 from entering the league, moreover, at that time, NBA was still at an experimenting phase and not all players did play just like the usual season. Anyway, people have been divided when it comes to the topic, but yes, a win is a win and nobody can take that from them.
Different times though, but during that time the Lakers is a different team, both Lebron and Davis really wanted to proved something and so they go and win one for the Lakers. But after that it seems that they have experienced the curse of defending it as they are not the same team after their champions. And then some of there players left or being traded. And then we can saw that getting WB really put a dent on the team. So for me it's good that they are considered as a dark horse so that they can proved something against their critics and detractors (barring injuries from Davis and Lebron).

According to the news, Inoue is set to have more fights in the current division before moving up. This presents an opportunity for Casimero to finally face the boxer whom he called "the turtle" and claim that he is the real beast. I know he is just trash talking, but the only way to find out who is the better boxer of the two is if they fight.

Casimero is not a top contender yet based on the ranking, but as he continues to have more fights, he will eventually become a top contender. I hope the time is not too late for him to become a mandatory challenger for Inoue.
Yes, we have heard so much about Casimero wanting to fight Inoue at super bantamweight. But he needs to prove himself again at this new division. So far his first 2 fights is not that impressive and I doubt that Inoue caught his attention.

But if Inoue insisted to stay in this weight, then perhaps in the future this two will have to fight. However, this monster is really very huge puncher that I doubt any of the current rank fighters has a chance on him.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: August 02, 2023, 12:30:27 PM

That's interesting. We might see Gaballo hyping his career, if fate permits him to win over Maloney.

His next journey might a money making fight for him, trying to add more belts under his name and the possibility to collect
all those available from this division may take place, something that the "Monster" Inoue left after moving up and earn another
belt in a different division. Still far to conclude as there's no update yet if Gaballo will be schedule to any title fight.

Gaballos' career was hyped when he was still undefeated, but when he lost to Donaire, he was out of circulation for a while. Now, since Donaire has experienced losses and is no longer a champion, and probably nearing retirement, Gaballo's chance has resurfaced, especially as the current champions are not on par with Donaire during his prime. Furthermore, Gaballo's loss against Donaire might actually be beneficial, as he can use that experience to mature and improve as a boxer.

As of now, there's no news yet on when Gaballo will fight or whom he will fight against, but considering his young age (only 26 years old), I believe he still has a promising future ahead in boxing.

I haven't followed this kid closely, so I was surprised to find out from https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/677961 that he had two wins after his loss to Donaire. Judging by his activity, we can say that he is an active boxer.

Since his lose to Donaire, Gaballo has fought twice in the Philippines with his new trainer, the old Donaire (Nonito's father) and they said that Gaballo has improved a lot when Nonito Sr take over as the trainer.

I don't know if Gaballo has the chance to fight any of the bantamweight belt but if he do i am confident that he could make life difficult of either Santiago or Moloney.

I thought he will be in the mix or at least fight for the title eliminator? And thanks for this news, I don't know that he is being trained by Nonito Sr. Was he the trainer when Nonito Jr, knockout Gaballo though?

So in any case, this is the opposite of what is happening with Americans, their father was their trainer and they are really supportive about their sons, Like Bill Haney, Lopez Sr, the Benadivez brothers and others. But here, Nonito Sr was butt hurt when Jr left him and really shut him down for good when Nonito Jr become a champion and now a legend.
931  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for August on: August 02, 2023, 12:18:58 PM
I voted for No. So for me we have a good chance by this August to go back to $30k'ish again and maybe hit $31k or higher. The biggest support for now should be $30k and the bulls are going to defend it this month.

We went $28k if I'm not mistaken, but with some good news, we are back to $29k++ again so it's a good sign that at the start of the month, we have seen some rally that might see the price to go on the upward of $30k, in my opinion.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 01, 2023, 12:28:44 PM

Crawford managed to beat Spence by TKO in Round 9, of course, this fight became history in the world of boxing because Crawford won the welterweight title and has an undisputed world record in two divisions.

Clearly, Crawford was the one who win that fight after the knockdown in the second round and from that, it's all obvious that he will gonna dominate him through the rounds. no wonder why they delay the fight till now because they know they only have a slight chance to win against Crawford. not it's clear that he is the strongest welterweight in this era and I don't have any candidate for him unless Inoue will dominate every upper weight class until he reached him just like how Pacquiao does in his prime.
Crawford has shown the ferocity of his fighting style and he has successfully shown to be the strongest for welterweight even he managed to get 4 titles at once.
Right now, I also don't see an opponent who deserves or can dominate the fight at welterweight and it looks like Crawford will be the strongest for some time to come.

Inoue is now at junior flyweight, junior bantam and batam in 3 different classes. Inoue has managed to become world champion in all three classes and maybe he can catch up to welterweight but it will take a long time if he wants to beat Crawford.
Welterweight? that is 147 lbs? not belittling Inoue's capacity to go up in weight classes, but perhaps at 130-135 lbs, he might have a hard time to go that high. First boxers in that weight limit will obviously bigger than him, second they are naturally on that weight classes, so they are used to carry that weight and power with them. Third, I don't think that it's a wise decision for Inoue to chase the Pacquiao record because it's very hard to do that. Manny is very different level as you can see, his legs along as being compared to a tree trunk, meaning he is gifted in the beginning.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: August 01, 2023, 12:12:40 PM
I don't think anyone here expected Donaire to lose, but it turns out the opposite happened. We thought Santiago would be a good match for Donaire's target to KO his opponent, but Santiago has matured and knows how to play the game well. He clearly knew how to beat Donaire, resulting in a unanimous decision win.

What can I say, I guess it's time for Donaire to hang up his gloves. He is already old, and it's evident he doesn't have the same activity he had in the past. To think that Santiago isn't even a top contender, and he still defeated Donaire via UD, that's enough to conclude his boxing journey is over.

Congratulations to Santiago! It was a good win for him, and now he is the champion.

It's just that Donaire can't pull the trigger anymore and yup nobody expected (at least we Filipinos) of this outcome. Santiago is ranked lower then in the minds of an ordinary fans, this fight is one that would make Donaire look good in the ring and once again break another record but turned out that this could be the end of his colorful career, nothing to be ashamed of and nothing else to prove so yeah, it's time to hang up the gloves for good.

Congrats to those who back Santiago, very juice odds.

Nobody surely saw that coming and we can somehow tell from the odds that most of the bettors were putting their money towards Donaire to win, which is very reasonable as how could we go against him against a boxer that is not yet making any name in the industry and haven't got a good fight. Well, after this, safe to say that his rankings will improve a lot because defeating Donaire is such a great achievement.

A great achievement, as he is now holding the belt and has that chance to unify it all. For sure, the value of his name was also
being hype and he can now earn more compared to his previous value.

Another plus factor is the name behind that win, Donaire even it's no longer in his prime, still a well-respected champ from this division.

Time to move on now. It's Santiagos' journey now while with Donaire. Chance, seeing him hanging his gloves, is his next possible decision.
Yes, I guess we have to move on now that Donaire has lost his chance to become a champion against Santiago. And with that, we can only hope that Santiago will not be a one hit wonder and will continue to defend his belts or unify it against different champions in this division.

So far we haven't heard anything about Donaire, maybe it's not yet sink into his mind that he let this one slip away. But give him a couple more days or even months at least at the end of the year and decide what will be his fate, whether to continue or not.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 01, 2023, 11:55:12 AM

The present champion, Regis Prograis, has an impressive record as well. Although he is not an undefeated boxer, his KO rate is high—24 out of 29 fights, which is equivalent to an 82.7% KO rate. I hope he will be as quick as Haney so he will be able to hit him and use that high KO rate to his advantage.

You can't beat what you can't hit, and Haney is so good at hitting his opponent without getting hit, after Mayweather he is the best defensive boxer now, and I believe he can beat Prograis even if Prograis has a high knock-out ratio, Haney has beaten a lot of great punchers by his technical skills I don't know who will be the favorite by experts here but this early he is my favorite to win by decision.

Exactly. This fight reminds me of Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez, a counterpuncher versus a power puncher but those heavy hands could damage nothing if it hits nothing. Devin Haney is in his prime now and as a defensive boxer, his team is trying to pair him to big name boxers but beatable and Regis Prograis is one of those, no offense meant to his fans but that is what i see in this matchup.
But I think Regis is underrated, so I will give him some chance to pull a upset against Haney. Although Haney is in his prime, and so is Regis, and he has a tough lost against Taylor years ago.

But I think Regis will give a interesting and very competitive fight for Haney here. I think this could go on the judges score card and could be a very close decision, could be a split decision for Haney, but I wouldn't be surprised if Prograis do enough to pull an upset.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2023, 10:47:00 AM
Lot of time ahead for the start of the season, but in your head, wich team do you thing its gonna be a contender and wich team its gonna be a tanker in the bottom of the table?

We have to wait until all the pieces are in place. There are still a lot of trades that could happen that could drastically change favorites. If nothing else moves, then definitely Boston, Phoenix, Milwaukee and Denver are contenders.

At the start of the season, there is still enough time for each team to prepare players and play strategies or better positioning of players.
If we talk about trading, we can see that in the future some players will be traded in order to have what should be able to add strength to the team itself.
But it seems true what you said that Boston, Phoenix, Milwaukee, and the Denver Nuggets will be the dominant competitors later when there is no movement whatsoever before next season begins.

Never forget the Lakers, they had a good offseason and bring back some good players plus got some solid addictions to their roster. If LBJ and AD stay healthy they can definitely make a deep run as well. Phoenix looks nice on paper but that is only scoring, the problem will be defence. About Boston I am also not convinced, they always seem to be strong but the final touch is missing somehow.
Denver of course will be a force again if they stay healthy. They lost Bruce Brown and Jeff Green, but added some ok bench players.

I wonder who the dark horse will be, maybe some team nobody is talking about will surprise the league.
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

And for sure the talk about the West is the defending champions and then a upgraded Phoenix Suns. And the Dame saga still continues, obviously, he wanted to go to the East so it's going to be a good conference to look at with Boston and Sixers and the Bucks.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 31, 2023, 06:35:23 PM
It's another story though if the rematch is actually needed and interesting to watch. For me it is not anymore necessary. A rematch is usually interesting when the fight is close and that the winner will have to prove once again that he is indeed the better boxer. In this case, Crawford has nothing to prove. He is clearly of a different level. Spence wasn't able to compete.

Indeed, it is. It would be much more exciting and deemed necessary if only their fight ended with a split decision or at least unanimous decision but since it wasn't and we know that it was really a one-sided fight then just like what the other guys have said and I bet people around the world are saying the same thing that a rematch is not something that is needed anymore. Even at 154 pounds, I doubt that it will bring such hype just like the hype that was produced in their first encounter, even half of what they did, I still doubt it.
If it is 154 lbs, maybe the punch resistance of Spence is different. Nevertheless, the outcome might be the same and Crawford winning by decision at 154 lbs, so I do agree that a rematch is not going to be as exciting anymore and there are a lot of boxing analyst who says that Spence wouldn't bet Crawford at any of the division, whether welter or super welterweight.

And with this win, and after waiting for years for this fight to happen, Crawford has claim to be the best welterweight. And he could be the top 1 or top 2 pound for pound. Him and Inoue can be in the argument for now, and maybe Tank Davis as 3rd best.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 29, 2023, 03:43:04 AM
I watch from a youtube video that Naoya Inoue will not hastily go up in weight division once he become undisputed champion of the 122 lbs division.  He stated that he wanted to stay in the division in order to fight a stronger boxer.  The handler and owner of the gym where Naoya Inoue is doing his training, stated that if Inoue is successful in his possible upcoming fight against Tapales, there is still Casimero and Luis Neri to fight against so he doesn't think that Inoue will go up in Division yet.

It's good if he will decide to remain at 122 lbs, because there are still some good fighters left in the division, namely Neri and Casimero. But I wanted to see first a fight between Luis Neri and John Riel Casimero of the Philippines. This two has been talking trash when Casimero was still at 118 lbs. So it will like a title eliminator and then the winner facing Inoue.

However, with his debut fight at 122 lbs, it seems that Inoue also bring his power when he move up. So even if there are good fighters in this division, like the 2 and add Akhmadaliev in the equation, I doubt that any of the three can pose a serious threat to Inoue, in my opinion.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Belief on: July 29, 2023, 01:13:49 AM
And that keeps me staying despite constant losses. Just one big win, that is what I'm waiting and I will keep my distance in gambling. My hopes always shattered after I lost and at the same time reconstructed when starting a new session. I'm still very optimistic that one day, that one big win I'm waiting for will come.
I'm not really sure what you meant by just one big win, unless it's really big like a lottery ticket winning. But if it just a regular win, then it might be very difficult to quit. On the contrary, you might want to think to come back and play for more as you have tasted winning already.

And if again, if you are thinking about lottery winnings, the odds are very slim. Although no one can stop you from trying to try to luck and win. Because we have heard countless stories of individuals who try to bet on lottery for the first time and then win as well. But it will take extreme luck to hit that jackpot and become a single winner.
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be pulled by the hype of meme coins on: July 28, 2023, 09:05:32 AM
Meme coins are indeed fueled by hype and community enthusiasm. While some early investors and creators may profit, it's true that not everyone will get rich from them. Unlike other altcoins with stronger communities, meme coins often attract people looking for quick gains. It's crucial to be cautious and recognize the risks involved before jumping in. Quick money might be tempting, but it's essential to approach meme coins with a clear understanding that it's a high-risk and speculative venture.
Only the first one to join the boat on meme coins are going to profit from it. Let's say for example $Pepe. If you are one of those who found this meme before it exploded and you see the potential and then invest early, for sure you might have a earn a ton of profits when the hype reaches its peak.

But after that, after all the selling, you might have to look for other meme coins. But that is the thing, it's very hard to found unless you are connected to the project itself. Nevertheless, I do believed that there are crypto enthusiast who really focus on meme coins and hunting them down for a quick turn around and get instant profits.

Gambling for fun is good, gambling for income is a fatal mistake.
Our mindsets decides the formulation of gambling in our daily routines. Gambling for enjoyment does not need a lot of stress or work, and it is extremely simple to deal with. Nevertheless, gambling as a source of income is dangerous, with the consequences always resulting in debt or worse. Gambling as a source of income is absolutely not a good idea because it causes major damages that will liquidate our accounts without warning. gaming addicts are not simple to deal with; they are aggressive in dealing with most gambling circumstances.
Sometimes it is not in the will of the gambler to chose if they want to play totally for fun or for income. A gambler may decide to be playing for fun but some kind of things like addiction may push the person to be chasing money. Apart from gambling addiction, peer friends influence may make one start gambling for money.
But the real thing is that every gambler needs to have a job that brings money and not depend on gambling luck.
It is something that works in our mind, negatively or positively about gambling. I mean we don't need to be rocket scientist, for sure if has happen to us or some to our friends. As if when they gamble, they are a change person and we can't understand what is happening to them that they can do other things that we thought they are not capable of.

I know it's scary and it most cases, those madness will turn this gambling into jail or worst committed suicide and take their life just to get away from the gambling debt their amass during their gambling addiction.
