921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 30, 2023, 07:10:27 AM
Well, Eddie Hearn is a huge boxing fan himself and is probably the biggest promoter right now and is a master in the business with superstars Canelo, AJ, and fighters from other promoters that fight in DAZN except GBP which has its own exclusive contract with the network. His 500k-600k is a good estimate and is already a big success given these economic hard times.

This fight though has real potential of breaking a million PPV buys. I also believe that tickets will be sold out quickly. So far PBC has named Pitbull Cruz battling against Giovanni Cabrera in the undercards probably to get the huge Latino boxing community.

In terms of the live gate's tickets, there is no question at all that it will be sold out quickly just like what Garcia vs Davis fight did or pretty much faster than that because we have to include the fact that there will be some businessmen who are having some business in gaining these tickets as fast as possible so that they can sell it in a much higher price. But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.

As far as Eddie Hearn, he says that PBC, Top Rank and Golden Boy doesn't want him promoting in the US.

As for the PPV buys, I do agree, I don't see the fight getting or breaking the 1 million PPV buys, not a hater but they will be lucky to get 500,000 PPV. Still the king of PPV for this year is Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis.

Live gates must be different though, it could be sold out by now and only premium tickets might be available.

Were we expecting the Garcia vs. Davis fight to reach at least 1 million PPV buys? I believe the expectation was around 500k, give or take. Therefore, I think the Spence and Crawford fight is somewhat undervalued. It's possible that we might be surprised if they surpass the 1.2 million PPV buys of the Garcia vs. Davis fight.

I bet they only had some speculations about what would be the PPV buys but I'm somehow confident that they aren't expecting any actual range as they also knew the factors surrounding it.
Yeah, they definitely have numbers in mind already, so they have better put that into perspective instead of anticipating big numbers that is not going to happen because even though they are pound for pound fighters, they didn't bring much as far as PPV numbers.

What they did was they rented a much bigger venue which was the T-Mobile Arena to ensure that they could take advantage of the fact while the fight was anticipated by many and bring a much bigger profits to their pockets.
Live gets could be different though, but this is business, and tickets are going to be very expensive. But their could be boxing fans who are willing to pay a great deal of money to see this as close as they can and doesn't want to watch it on TV.

It will be a challenge for them if they can surpass the hype and Davis-Garcia fight because that specific fight broke 1 Million plus PPV buys which is already considered as a big figure in today's era but somehow, I think the Crawford-Spence fight can keep up with it just fine or even achieve more than what the Davis-Garcia fight had because this fight has been asked by the fans for some years now, and finally, we now have the fight upcoming.

I honestly think that both Spence and Crawford is not that worried about their PPV buys because having these two names in the equation will definitely result into a big fight with lots of money generated plus PPV buys will definitely exceed the Davis-Garcia fight, it seems like automatic already considering that Spence himself can already have a decent figures, what more now that Crawford is included.

As of now, both of them are so silent and it's quite understandable why as they only have less than 1 month now to prepare for this war that they agreed into. Looking forward to see an action-packed fight as that what other people wanted as well.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: June 28, 2023, 08:23:38 PM
If you are not aiming for a quick way to earn, I mean if you don't have that wrong impressions into gambling.

Using the amount that you are willing to let go, sparing it for the sake of entertainment is something that wise gambler
is really capable, they can calculate and they can execute that kind of engagement without any fear of exceeding and
losing a lot of money, with the kind of setup addiction is also being catered, not allowing too much engagements and
exposure to gambling.
It is true.
Sports gamblers are the ones who are not mostly prone to gambling addiction because they are just logging in whenever an event will happen with their favorite sports. And, a human being can only handle less amount of sports to be more knowledgeable about it.
I love boxing, MMA, and basketball only, and adding more might get me confused about which sport a player/fighter will be. Sometimes I even mix MMA with boxing because of the entertainment that is happening right now mostly with Jake Paul challenging MMA fighters.
I tend to just wait for big events to come and in NBA the season ends so there's a long rest that will come after. I just play casino games when I feel bored but I don't really soak into it, just an hour of playing Keno or Crash, I already have a sored eye.  Grin

I think those who believe they are near the addiction, they should just try to focus on sports betting instead, the fun is still there because of the thrill that will be added by betting for the favorite team.

This has a point. I rarely hear that someone is addicted in sports gambling. Most of the time, players get too much caught up with luck based games. Since luck based games such as slots and roulettes are not that complicated, it's much easier to access and play whenever and wherever. There's no need for an event to come up just to be able to play and bet. Unlike in sports betting wherein the gamblers have to wait a specific time frame in which the sports match will commence before they can make a bet. And with this being said, it's not going to be an everyday scenario for them which just basically puts them into lesser probability of getting addicted to gambling.

This depends on the gambler because, let's say, the gambler is fond of all sports, so he would possibly bet on all of them because there are everyday sports events or tournaments happening, so he can still get addicted. The same is true with e-sports, where there are everyday somewhat big events, celebrity match-ups, and local tournaments. As long as betting is involved, no matter if it is skill-based or luck-based, you can get addicted to it, and there is no exception.

Not really the case mate because even if let's say that the gambler is fond and knows a lot of sports compared to a regular sports bettor, there is still a big chance that he will not get addicted to it because knowing the sports doesn't also mean that he/she knows everyone playing behind it. So, that brings them back to square one where they will wait for the game/fight and will not be an everyday habit where they will spend a lot of time betting.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 28, 2023, 08:04:20 PM
Maybe seeing Paul and Steph starting at the same time.
There is a possibility that this approach would help Curry conserve his energy, as they would already have a facilitator, while he and Thompson focus on finding open shots. It would result in a smaller lineup, but adjustments can always be made.

A very big adjustment here, in my opinion,

with how the Nuggets use that advantage against the Heat during the finals, we might see them duplicating
the same system, though I agree that CP3 will be a big help in terms of giving Curry and Thompson a good
breathing in, finding their spot to take much clear and open shots. He can provide space as he can also shoot
with a good percentage.

He won't be called as the Point-God if he himself cannot do the shots whenever the players that he is facilitating doesn't have any window but his shooting expertise comes 2nd as he is more useful in setting up the table for the team and for the Splash Brothers to do their thing with less hassle. And now that he's becoming more and more prone to injury, just like what others are saying, I guess the Warriors will just use him during the most important minutes of the game.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 28, 2023, 06:37:10 PM
The Bivol rematch might happen next year or maybe we will not see that happening at all as Canelo is with PBC now. Bivol is with Eddie Hearn and Match room so I doubt that they are going to work out as Canelo's contract with PBC is exclusive for a 3 fight deal.
Canelo is scared to fight with prime Bivol, so he avoid it and choose to fight with the opponents he think he will win e.g. Jermall Charlo, David Benavidez, and David Morrell. If the undisputed light heavyweight will happen e.g. Bivol vs Beterbiev, if Bivol win, Canelo will wait until he move to heavyweight or retire. But if Beterbiev win, I think Canelo will dare to fight with Bivol since both of them don't have any belt and the judges will favor on Canelo.

David Benavidez is not on Canelo's option as he is hiding behind the reason that there's no benefit for him if he will fight David, which is true, but considering that he's also fond in cleaning his own division, I cannot see any reason why he will not give David the chance and this governing bodies is not doing their job and give a mandatory fight as David is a WBC interim boxer.

For Bivol, I think Canelo is not after what Bivol is holding right now as a rematch is just a plain fight to redeem his loss and so it doesn't really matter if Bivol will lost the belt to Beterbiev or not. But as per Bivol's words, there will be no rematch unless Canelo wanted to take a risk and host the fight at his own division.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 28, 2023, 06:17:56 PM
Now that TEO won, it is not that he is confident, he has a lot ahead of him and yes, a lot to learn, but the challenges will be more and more difficult, in boxing things can be seen very well, but from one moment to the next everything It can collapse, that's what Teo has to take care of.

It it also worth noting that Teofimo Lopez did that amazing upset amidst the issues that are going on in his life, yet that didn't became a hurdle for him to lose his focus and it even became a reason for him to be much stronger as people at that time is looking at him without any confidence that he can win the fight and was laughing at him, including me, because his words doesn't really make sense. But now, he proved to all of us that he is a different version now.
926  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Better to have a trading knowledge than depending on signals. on: June 25, 2023, 08:17:57 PM
First of all, better to say what I've always said before, even before crypto, even when forex was new. Signals are not guarantee of profit. They CAN be useful if used together with strategy as a sort of alert to follow your strategy anyway.

Same thing for gambling, people sell all kinds of arbitrage tips and signals (like trading but with odds) and you won't make money if you blindly follow them.
Knowledge and strategies are certainly very useful in trading, as a trader can never be profitable if he only trade like gambling knowing nothing. Just like trading which greatly depends on signals, it can be profitable at some point especially if you are also knowledgeable and strategic at the same time, but trading relying on signals alone can never guarantee successful trading. The reason why a trader must be knowledgeable and skillful at first because that is a must when trading, otherwise we cannot expect trading to end up based on what we planned.
927  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 25, 2023, 03:25:46 PM
I have been debating about it with couple of my colleagues whether stay on rent or buy a property.

Let's assume, you are well capable enough to buy a new property through bank loan. Your income supports the mortgage payment so banks are willing to lend you money.

What will be the best route to take? Buy the property or stay in a rented place?

The usual appreciation rate of your property value is around 10% owing to the development work that are ongoing. For rented property, your rent increases by 15% every year.

What's the better option for you and why?
No one would want to settle renting the property forever, as you are always spending money for rental and yet, you won’t own the property in the end. That’s why buying a property is always the best option. But if taking a bank loan is the available option for you to gain the property, for me the answer depends based on how much the monthly amortization is and if you can still manage to sustain your necessities from your salary net proceeds. Because if not, then don’t compromise your present income and struggle on your finances. Just slowly save from your salary and keep your extra money, and once you can afford to buy it in cash, then never hesitate to make your goal realized.
928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does ranking not guarantee post quality? on: June 25, 2023, 02:56:53 PM
It's been a great day, I've read enough threads. I saw quite a lot of senior/hero/legendary rank discussions, but if I'm honest, I found a lot of comments that have no value, they just write nonsense. Maybe I did too

I realize that the quality of a post is based on the knowledge of the account owner. But stupid people are still needed to continue the discussion, if everyone is smart then there will be no more discussion. So both are needed.

I know for sure there will be a lot of comments that blaspheme me. I may be a newbie but I know that a post has value and a good argument. Maybe I haven't read all the threads, so I have to ask about my statement, that many high ranking members have low quality posts? talk nonsense and have no clear arguments. Is my statement correct?
If we will follow the standards, high rank members should be more knowledgeable and resourceful since they were able to receive a lot of merits from members who actually benefited from their post. That’s how it should be. However, I cannot deny that we are still seeing high rank members who are making low value posts and are not even skilled in conveying their message to other people through their various post. But be reminded that everyone is free to improve his/her performance in the forum. We just have to encourage them and even motivate them to be at their best version. That’s the essence why at some point, constructive criticism is a must.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think it's still wrong selling properties for Bitcoin? on: June 25, 2023, 02:25:10 PM
I won't advice that you sell a landed property to invest in bitcoin reasons that the price of bitcoin is not stable so to avoid risk it's better to invest in it with spare cash. Moreover the value of land does not depreciate, it appreciates over time so the idea of losing and asset to invest in another which profit is not really certain is a no brainer.

Although maybe you sold the land and invest when the price was 17k and then it increased to 30k then that should be considered a wise investment due to the doubled profit made from the investment but then,  left for me I won't advice using a landed property for bitcoin investment.but OP you said in your statement that you sold two acres of farmland so I think before you took this bold step you had other assets to back up your loss and you were lucky to profit from such risk, congratulations anyways.
I would say it’s an advantage for OP to take risk in selling a portion of his landed properties because if ever he lose from his investment, he has still numerous properties left. Even in my case, if I was in his shoes, I would also do the same. But I believe for those who only have few owned properties, selling them for the sake of investment is not advisable. Regardless if it’s bitcoin or not, it’s still best to invest using your spare money. Otherwise, he might end up being homeless if he never succeed from his bitcoin investment while seeing his capital only go into waste.
930  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 24, 2023, 09:59:11 PM
Not actually the best investment for me but it’s definitely one of the in demand investments nowadays. And also that’s one of my goals why I keep investing in the crypto market so as to diversify my investment too by acquiring landed properties. At least when crypto is no longer profitable anymore, we don’t know in the future, then I have my owned properties that can still give me passive income even when crypto is not making me profitable anymore.
931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Some Merit really boosted my motivation on: June 24, 2023, 09:44:58 PM
This may seem trivial to those who already rank high in the forums. but it really means a lot to beginners. Gaining Some Merits actually can revive dormant Motivation. But still I also realize that just motivation is not enough. but also must be accompanied by an increase in insight. with more diligent reading and so on.
Other beginners must also feel this way, right? I doubt if only I feel this pleasure.
Getting merits in the forum is one of the best feeling wherein we can say our hard work and efforts from the start are now paying off. That’s when our post turns into high quality and become highly beneficial especially for the newbies. So it’s not just for beginners actually but for me, even you’re top on the rank will still be motivated by it. And with continuous motivation to widen your knowledge and develop your skills in the forum, that will make you a trustworthy and valuable member in the forum.
932  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: June 24, 2023, 09:30:40 PM
What stopped you when the price was low? don't let the sudden increase make you rush into the market- learn to control your emotions.

One of the challenges of some traders is that they don't know when is the right time to enter the market.  Some traders feels when the market is red it is always a wrong time to get into the market to trade. If the green should only be considered as the best time to enter the market, I think it won't always be a right decision. Going into the market when it is green is just greedy sentiment for trading.

Sometimes when the market is red it can also be a good time to enter the market if carefully watched.  Not all green ends up with profit and not all red ends with loss too.
Traders needs to learn when is the right time to enter the market and not to judge when to enter with a particular signal.  Signals are unprecedented and may change faster than it's expected.
If you stick to what is right and basic, the red market chart should be the perfect timing to enter the market because all prices are certainly dropping, which means you can maximize your purchase particularly if you plan to fill your portfolio with bigger amount of bitcoin. However, experienced traders have their own version when to enter and trade the market. As long as they see good signals to trade despite of its market condition, professional traders will still end up trading successfully and profitably.
933  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 24, 2023, 09:08:02 PM
Seeing the price of bitcoin continue to decline is not a frustration but an opportunity to buy more not just for bitcoin but even some potential altcoins in the market for diversification. So instead of panicking, just stay calm and patient while waiting for it’s price recovery. Know that bitcoin will never stay in a fixed price for the whole time. One day, it’s surging, and then the next day it’s already declining. Get used to it and just take advantage every time you see bitcoin’s price falling, or when you see the whole crypto market is totally in red.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 23, 2023, 07:00:28 PM

For the case of Casimero in which we have been discussing, the burden is on his side. If Inoue wins then most likely it will be Tapales for unification. And so with that, Casimero needs to make a move by fighting rank boxers. That's the only way that Inoue will be interested on him, if he still can proved himself at 122 lbs.
Inoue would only be interested if the fight is a mandatory fight. If he has other options, such as a unification fight, he would gladly accept that. So, although Casimero will work hard to improve his ranking, there is no assurance that he will have the opportunity to fight Inoue in the future.
That's true. There's no assurance to it.
Either Casimero will get a title or he will be on the Rank 1 of their weight and be the contender if ever Inoue wins the fight against Fulton. But I still doubt it will happen, the target will be unification so Tapales will be the apple of his eye if ever he will not lose his belts. Right now, Casimero can fight over and over again but there's little chance they will meet.
Another chance will be if Inoue unifies it all and he is mandated to defend it, that's if he will never go up another weight class. Casimero can keep on challenging him but it might never happen.

Maybe there's a chance they'll meet if Inoue loses to Fulton. In that case, both Casimero and Inoue would become challengers, and who knows, if Fulton decides not to move up, Casimero might have a chance to fight the champion again and claim the belt. In that scenario, he could then accommodate Inoue as his challenger. It may sound unusual, but I believe it's another possibility to consider.

Actually, as long as Inoue will not leave his present weight class where Casimero is in and as long as the latter will not get any failures down the road then the chances for them to meet is good. But the scenario you've created does have more chances for Casimero and Inoue to fight as that will give Casimero a little room and edge to catch-up in the rankings to make him one of the few eligible challengers for the crown. But, but there's also a chance that Inoue will go for a rematch against Fulton considering that the latter will not vacate the belt and move towards the next weight class.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: June 23, 2023, 05:49:02 PM
It actually depends in the gambler's perspective because at the end of the day, they are more as a gambler rather than just a fan who is afraid to bet against the team that they are a fan of. I mean, let's just be honest because betting against the team that we liked doesn't really mean that we are not that loyal to them because in the first place, that's not even a description of what a loyal fan would be.
We are here to bet and make money even if it means betting against them besides the entertainment we are getting as we surely don't want to be in the losing side just to be called loyal. Nobody will know, trust me.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 04:29:35 PM
Chris Paul going to the Warriors as a backup for Steph Curry? I didn’t expect that. I guess CP3 thought that was his best chance at a ring. This to me means that Jordan Poole is done in Golden State. Crazy because I thought he would be next up, especially with Draymond rumored to be leaving the team this offseason. First surprise of the offseason…

Edit: Looks like Poole was in the trade. Checks out…

I think it was not rumored anymore because Draymond Green is now in the free agency after he opted out that $27M deal for the 23-24 season and he said that he's still looking forward to wear the same uniform in the next couple of year or until he retires if he gets that contract that he demanded with $100M in. But I don't seriously think that the Warriors will give Green that kind of deal because they have freed Poole for two reasons, first is he is not that consistent anymore and second, they need to free up some cap space.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Joshua Franco vs Kazuto Ioka WBA World Superfly (June 24) on: June 23, 2023, 04:06:06 PM
Although it's hard for Joshua Franco to win, I voted for him because I want to see a trilogy.

The first fight was very close; either boxer could have won. But I'm sure Joshua Franco has worked hard for this fight to reclaim himself. Last time, I believe it went to the judges' scorecards, but this time, I'm hoping to see a knockout.

I mean, there could be but I think trilogy is the least thing that we can somehow expect from these two because the outcome of their first match was a draw and that is also why we are here now discussing for their upcoming rematch. In most cases, the winner of this fight will choose to proceed towards the next chapter especially if there was no clause involved because from their view, there's no need for a trilogy because they have won already.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do gambling addicts bother about the consequences of their actions? on: June 22, 2023, 01:06:59 PM
1. Do gambling addicts ever take a second thought on what the consequences of their actions can be not just to them but on those close to them?
2. Do they in reality genuinely feel any remorse about  how those affected by their actions might be feeling?
3. Or, are they a dispassionate victim of their own uncontrollable addictive gambling lifestyle?
Gambling addicts are aware of the consequences of their action. But because they're uncontrolled it's already hard to think of the right thing to do due to their eagerness to keep on playing to sustain their addiction. There's probably part in their minds to stop or feel guilty and have regrets. But because they're used to playing (regardless how and where they got their funds to gamble) they will continue to play to satisfy themselves as an addicted gambler.

An addict who is bothered for the aftermath and wants to overcome his/her addiction will do something to already stop. Taking it slowly is better with the help of people around showing great support through encouragement.
When the mind is controlled by the desire to gamble, a person cannot think clearly because all they want is to gamble. They will think of nothing else except gambling and getting a win. They will not think about losing because they are probably used to it. But when they get wins above $10, they will be happy and continue with it until they can win big money.

A gambling addict will find it difficult to stop if he cannot realize that he is a gambling addict, especially if he cannot think about the defeats he has experienced. This will only make him deeper into gambling without being able to get out. And yes, he needs help from those around him to get out of gambling.

That is the most common mindset for gamblers when they are looking playing because why not? Everybody wanted to win and that's everybody's goal, there's no right or wrong about that. It's just that their mindset lacks something, it's the mindset to know the boundaries where a line shouldn't be crossed at any cost and that is the time to call it a day.

Without this, you will have no certain goal other than making money and sooner or later, you will find yourself chasing for the money and instead of making money, you'll find yourself in a spot where you didn't wanted yourself to be in as that will too late anymore.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 22, 2023, 12:44:16 PM
Many people find it difficult to accept who they are and the bad habits that they have, accepting a habit is the first step that will determine if any help offered to you will work. As a gambler, will you find it offensive if you are referred to as a gambling addict? will you easily accept it or try to give excuses like some other people do, saying that they are not addicted to gambling when the signs are clearly there. Do you think identifying as an addicted gambler will make people stereotype you. The answer is different for every gambler here.

Doesn't really matter to me if they see me as a gambling addict because I'm not entitled to make some explanation to them so that their view towards me will change, I already accepted and expected some stuffs like these that will happen to me as no matter what I will say to them, their view will stay the same because they see me as an active to that specific injury. Actually, no words will sway them to make change their minds and most people are actually like that.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 22, 2023, 08:17:40 AM
The case of Jermall Charlo is really intriguing to say the least, he hasn't fought since 2021, and yet WBC hasn't stripped him of their championship. And there is a rumor floating around that says Charlo has been in some mental problems, it could be personal, that's why he hasn't fought for a long time.

And suddenly we heard that he is going back in fighting and then have Canelo as his comeback fight?

So very interesting pick of opponent from the Canelo side, for sure they know all the back story and it's obvious they are cherry picking Charlo for Canelo here.

WBC has favored Jermall Charlo to retain his belt even without having any title defense because the WBC champion had a serious head injury and other personal matters to solve, which made people to speculate that Charlo had a mental illness following his head injury.

Although none of that were confirmed, it will still remain as a mystery on why Charlo stayed inactive for almost two years.

And now that he is making his return, hopefully we can receive any answers during one of their few press conference or at least post-fight press conference.
