941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 22, 2023, 07:55:54 AM
Wemby has Durant body, and I know he is a bit taller but that's who he is going to be like. Dude is 7+ feet tall, and he can dribble the ball and shoot very well, that's a big skill to have. When you are that tall and can shoot whenever you want from wherever you want, not that many defenders can stop you. Hence, the best thing to do would be focusing on other skills at that point. He is not that great defensively, he certainly can't body anyone up, he is too skinny to be an inside defender, he can chase blocks if he wants to, but if anyone posts him up, he is not going to be able to stop them. This doesn't have to include gaining weight, Durant is still skinny, but he learned how to guard the post perfectly, he can do the same, whatever he does.

It's too soon to judge and say that Wemby is going to have Durant's body because remember Giannis when he got drafted? Yes, that kid is so thin as well and almost looks like a walking stick but look at him now, he's so buffed that he can really dominate inside the paint and protect the rim as well. I'm just saying that there is also a chance that Wemby will be like Giannis instead of Durant, too soon mate.
942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 18, 2023, 07:44:30 PM
Gambling is purely based from luck and chances, while trading is based on knowledge and skills, and some good and working strategies to win the trades. Though I believe trading also needs luck as much as it is as there are times trading end up still at a losing end. And when gambling, even if you have the knowledge and strategies, winning is not guaranteed while trading increases its chances of winning your trades and making you profitable if you know how to analyze the market and adopt whatever the market trends.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 18, 2023, 06:19:49 PM
Indeed, both knowledge and money are crucial for advancing and establishing your empire. Without either one, progress becomes difficult to achieve. This is particularly true when it comes to cryptocurrencies, as money plays a vital role. While it is possible to earn some income through leveraging your knowledge in marketing or other areas, the potential for substantial earnings is limited. To seize the opportunity to invest in cryptocurrencies at the right moment, having sufficient funds is imperative. Unfortunately, I missed out on accumulating assets during this bear market because I lacked the necessary funds.
True, with knowledge but no sufficient funds, you can take advantage of your knowledge but you can never maximize your means of earning an income. Let’s just be real guys, money is ultimately a high necessity these days, as you can always earn a good living as long as you have a good amount of capital even without highly knowledgeable mind. As long as you have your life’s strategies, you will certainly prosper in time. Especially if you enter cryptocurrency investments, having sufficient funds is a must as you can never start an investment when you have nothing to serve as your capital.
944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 18, 2023, 05:46:06 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
Gamblers are born greedy, the reason why most gamblers always chase for bigger winnings no matter how often they lose in their past bets. That’s why it’s a hard decision to leave gambling when you have fulfilled that dream, winning a life changing amount. Because the more you see yourself winning in gambling, the more you are eager to continue to bet and take advantage of your luck while it is there. This is based on real life experience. Though I had not won such a huge amount, but seeing myself constantly winning from my bets makes me decide to increase my urge in gambling, regardless if I end up losing them all.
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Improve Your Sports Betting Skills and Win More Bets? on: June 18, 2023, 05:27:16 PM
Simply improve your analysis wherein you'd be practical in a way. If you're hesitating to your bet then atleast minimize the amount of money you would be engaging yourself into it. There's no assurance ofcourse, with the winning team or fighter in every sport. Gamblers can jist make speculations or guesses based on previous matches or fights but that won't guarantee things. You may also go bias with lower odds or simply go in line with majority. Also not be greedy of odds; many gamblers are betting to bigger odds because it will result to bigger rewards. Unfortunately, risk would be bigger as well.
Betting done with research and good analysis will certainly make an edge, but know that in gambling there’s no assurance to win even if how much you know the favorite team. That’s why if you want not to lose instantly from your bets, learn to bet at a small amount so that even if you lose, you will still have another chance to bet and win this time. Gambling is still based on pure luck and chances, but I believe if you are also knowledgeable and a skilled gambler as well, that will also lessen the risk of losing from your bets.
946  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Encouragement and lesson learnt on: June 17, 2023, 09:49:49 PM
Many seniors and friends from your country have good knowledge about forums. Not only you, I also learned a lot from seniors from your country of origin until now.
I think you are in the right environment. Just like me who is very lucky to have seniors and an environment that cares so much about my progress.

I almost gave up when the merit system was implemented.
But on the basis of encouragement and motivation that continues to be given by them to make me active again.
From my experience here, many newbies give up when something they want to achieve is difficult to achieve.
Suggestions or criticisms given to you regarding punctuation, understanding the rules and so on are very valuable things.

OP. If one day you achieve what is your goal, don't stay silent and teach those who need direction and guidance like you have been supported by seniors.
You know, it’s always a good thing to learn from your seniors as they are well knowledgeable and well experienced in the forum or in the crypto market. Eventually, you will also be like them in the future. Although some may not be teach by seniors since we have to deal it on our own, but once we survived that phase, we can always pass our learnings to newbies in the forum so that they will also feel that there are people who also care for their progress as that’s what forum is designed for, to help and learn from one another.
947  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: June 17, 2023, 08:59:10 PM
The solution is not just depending on the government, or just praying, but we can also start from small steps starting from ourselves. Don't expect too much from the government, no matter how good the program from the government, if officials like corruption, it still makes people disappointed with the government.
Officials in a country are basically elected by their own people so that the people must also realize this besides not having to depend forever on the government because everyone who wants more income in their life certainly has to work more hard. Whether it's by opening a business or by utilizing existing resources, because without that it will always be difficult to cope with spending money which is increasing day by day in life. I also agree not to expect much from the government, but every citizen also cannot forget the government because that is the seat of leadership for every country.
The government has an obligation to help the people especially for those unfortunate individuals, but know that there are a lot of those living in a country, so expect that the government cannot cater them all in an instant. Instead, do not wait for the government to help you. Go and find opportunities on your own. That way, you can always create a progress for yourself even without the assistance from the government.
948  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your honest review of the Demo account? on: June 17, 2023, 08:26:35 PM
I think every new users should try demo trading first as it helps user to be an experienced trader. I also tried demo trading and learned a lot. It really helps when you do future trading even if can generate trading strategies with demo accounts.
It is not a must to try demo trading. I never use demo trading, I have no problem with trading so far. I can get the trading knowledge by reading articles or watching YT videos. I also tried directly trading in a such platform with small money, so I got experiences and won't have big risk to lose huge money. The main thing to do is to focus learning and use small money first if you are still a newbie. Anyway, for newbies, it is better to stay away from future trading. It is not a proper place for newbies.

Although I would say demo trading is quite helpful, but yes I also believe it’s not a must either. It’s still an edge if you have real experiences in the market, by incurring some mistakes and losses that will most likely teach you on how to be a good and reliable trader. Experience will always be the best teacher no matter what, so it’s not bad idea if you jump into trading experiences in a live trading rather than using demo account while you’re starting.
949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you tired of waiting for the jump? Pls Hodl on: June 16, 2023, 09:58:18 PM
From the years that I've been into this market, that's what I've learned and that's to take profit when it's on high. It's not gonna hurt my ego to have to see my lessened portfolio because that's how it should go, to enjoy my profits earned from my investments on this market.

Other than that, holding is truly one of the best strategies that I've ever learned. These scenarios of plummets and crashes, it taught me a lot of things especially in forcing me to be patient when I'm thinking of dumping as much as I can.
Hodling is the most effective way to make you profitable with less risk and less efforts. That is why if we can hold more especially in this current market condition, then it will always be the best decision than to sell your coins at a low price as that will only make you regret your decision in the end. Also, know that patience is very important to make you successful and profitable in this type of investment so learn to be more patient than to resort into selling your coins and consider yourself a big loser.
950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 16, 2023, 09:26:11 PM
Or worse — sometimes we have users with zero merits trying to teach people how to make quality posts and how to earn merits the right way. Like, lmao. Every time I see those kinds of posts this is the thing that always comes to my mind:

It seems that people who opted to do this do not think of leaving a good impact to their viewers. As long as they will be paid in every content, that just shows that their greed is too high for their own knowledge. Most especially for newbies who need the most knowledge more than their greed because if they can’t be knowledgeable enough, then they will never last longer in the forum, nor in making their life successful. That is why knowledge is power, since everything starts with knowledge before you think of influencing others.
951  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: One or more trading strategies, which one do you prefer? on: June 16, 2023, 08:33:41 PM
...

What about you, what is your preference, and why?
Well, having more strategies serves as an option that we use in a particular market situation because honestly, not all strategies work in all situations, it varies as well. Pertaining to such scenarios, at least we have another option that we think it was more applicable. Having 2-3 strategies are enough for me and besides, it was not just the strategies, it also needs trading tools. After all, it all depends on how comfortable we are, and as a trader, we know what seems to be a more effective and profitable strategy, we can stick to it if possible.
I believe it’s an advantage if we can master more strategies that will suit whatever the market condition is. And yes, 2-3 are just good enough knowing once your single strategy is not effective anymore, at least you have other strategies that will still be working on that particular season of the market. Also, your attitude towards trading will also count. If you good strategies plus a positive outlook on trading, then that will make you a winner in most of your trades.
952  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: June 15, 2023, 07:37:37 PM
Regardless, what I think is that the government shouldn't shove it down the throat of people. Workers who are approaching retirement age should be given a choice after appraisal to keep working or retire.

What sense does this make? Would you agree or disagree?

I believe the government is considering the well-being of employees and aiming to ensure they can benefit from their retirement by enjoying life while they have the opportunity. Ultimately, this decision may be influenced by the global mortality rate, also known as life expectancy.

According to the research as we can see here in this article.

Quote
A male child born in the United States today will live to be 73.5 years old on average. This puts the male citizens of the US in 43rd place in this ranking. On average, US women are 5.8 years older, reaching an age of 79.3. The world average age of death is a few years lower at 68.9 years for men and 73.9 years for women. Within the European Union, these are 77.7 and 83.3 years respectively.

If the retirement age is set within the age bracket mentioned by OP, individuals would only have around 10 years to enjoy life after retirement. Therefore, I believe it's necessary to encourage them to retire, as life is not solely about work but also about fully enjoying it.
953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New question for experts on: June 15, 2023, 07:12:59 PM
Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

Yes, of course! If you have the time and resources to attend such events, why not? As crypto enthusiasts, we enjoy participating in these kinds of gatherings as they enhance our knowledge about cryptocurrency and provide an opportunity to meet successful individuals in the crypto space. Additionally, attending such events can help us learn how to effectively manage our crypto assets and ensure their security. It's definitely worth giving it a try!
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 14, 2023, 01:27:19 PM
Now Teofimo Lopez wanted $100 million for him to continue fighting. Of course, this is just another bluff, he is just trying to get the biggest possible money he can get in his next fight or contract.

He may have overvalued himself; he is not on the same level as Mayweather or Pacquiao, who are worth that kind of money. He is not even considered one of the top 10 best fighters in the world, so asking for such a high payout after a big win against Taylor seems excessive. I believe he should focus on defending his belt against challengers and consider moving up to a higher weight class once he feels he has achieved more in his current division.
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 14, 2023, 12:56:48 PM
So still a very good fight for Inoue at super bantamweight and hopefully we can see this fight happening next year at least. And it might be good if Casimero will be the challenger, so that he will be extra motivated to pull an upset win.

As of now, his ranking is not yet considered to be a challenger to the champion, you can see the ranking here.

https://www.boxingscene.com/rankings

It might take some time, but as long as Casimero continues to fight, he will eventually reach a level where he becomes the number one challenger. In the case of a mandatory fight, the champion would not be able to refuse it, as the organization could strip him of the belt.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 13, 2023, 01:55:18 PM
And Donaire is hoping that this will be his 4th title reign at bantamweight.

The first one is when he knockout Montiel (who wouldn't forget that fight? we saw Montiel having like a seizure in the canvass when Donaire hits him with his signature left and Nonito was still in his prime that time).

The second one is when he won against Ryan Burnett in the WBSS and capturing the WBA and eventually losing it to Inoue in the finals of the said tournament.

The third one is when he knockout Nordine Oubaali, this time it's the WBC belt, but then again his title reign was cut short when Inoue unify the belt with a second round knockout against Donaire.

Now, another chance for Donaire to become a bantamweight champion the 4th time at 40 years old.
We won't forget all of his remarkable wins. Donaire is one of the most exciting boxers in the sport, so even at his age, we are still anticipating seeing him fight in another championship bout. Just imagine if he wins again; he will be praised for becoming a champion despite his age. Although he may not become the oldest champion, it will demonstrate the kind of passion and discipline needed to remain competitive at this stage of his possible retirement age.
957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 13, 2023, 12:56:00 PM
Yes, it seems that this is destiny for the Nuggets team to win for this year.

I also go with the -6.5 win by the Nuggets and I thought that they can cover this spread or could win in double digits. But the Heat tries to hang on, specially in the 4th which is very close if not for the last minute or 2 wherein you see that the Nuggets wanted it more than the Heat.

So congrats to the Nuggets team winning the NBA championship for this year.

Sorry mate, it turns out a close game but the Nuggets won the game, it's just unfortunate that they were not able to cover the spread. If I'm not mistaken the spread was like -8 but you lowered it and still failed. That was the last game of the NBA Finals, no more games tomorrow and we have to wait for a while, so it's time to relax on betting now.  Smiley

Who would have thought that they would struggle to win and cover the spread in the possible last game of the series? We saw the Nuggets dominating in games 3 and 4, so it's understandable that most bettors would think they could easily dominate the Heat while playing at home.

This unpredictability is what makes gambling so fascinating, but that was just one game. There are still more games to come, just not in this league.
958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: June 11, 2023, 07:16:49 PM
Besides, these articles sometimes to have the full story, maybe the man is a religious man and gambling is something that might be frowned upon and was trying to stick to his principles....whatever it is, give it time, the son will explain himself and they will find a way to agree on how to receive the monetary gift.
In this case, reading the whole story, one thing is clearly understood, except for the father, the other members of the boy's family are interested in keeping the money won by the bet. But the boy's father is not agreeing to spend his gambling money for the benefit of the family for some religious reasons. If you look at the boy's older brother's post, they only told the netizens that the gambling money is with his family should be spent. Moreover, the boy's mother is willing to spend the gambling money with the family because the boy's family still owes two months of house rent. If the boy spends the gambling money for family purposes, then his family will have a great life in the future.
Well, the won amount will surely create a big difference in their lives, but knowing his father is a devotee of his religion, then taking money from gambling is a big sin and such instances should never be tolerated. He might be lucky enough to gain such amount but if he will stick to what his father believes, everything will come into waste particularly his efforts put in gambling.
959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 11, 2023, 06:57:35 PM
The line between gambling and investing is very thin. If someone invests without knowledge, investing in a way that relies on chance, they will call it gambling. But if someone has market research, a clear strategy, a plan, they will not consider investing as gambling. But there's also nothing wrong with saying that investing in crypto is gambling because if someone just invests in shitcoins, that person is gambling rather than investing. They are expecting a profit from chance, it is no different from gambling.
Exactly. Investing in crypto can be like gambling if you are seeing crypto as a get rich quick scheme. That way, you are here not for long term investing but you are here for luck wishing you’ll be instantly lucky and become successful with crypto without even knowing the basics at first and without making yourself aware about the real advantages of bitcoin than shitcoins. But since you invested in shitcoins because of its too good to be true promises, then crypto investing becomes gambling in the making.
