961  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 17, 2023, 02:01:49 PM
If you’re patient & you don’t need instant profits & fast returns then bitcoin is pretty much the safest & best investment out there. Buy, keep adding to your stash & hold for a number of years. You will definitely make great profits whilst protecting yourself against inflation. Volatility is a feature of bitcoin, not a bug. You can do very well using the volatility to your advantage.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smart Way to Introduce Bitcoin to Relatives, Spouse or Family on: June 17, 2023, 10:35:58 AM
I haven’t had much luck advising family & friends to invest in bitcoin. They’re all too risk averse (bitcoin isn’t a risk imo but they think it is). They all believe FUD from mainstream media, these are the kind of people who follow all the rules & believe everything their government tells them.

I think the best way to try to convince friends & family is simply to just give them a paper wallet with some bitcoin in it. They might then be intrigued to educate themselves, even if it’s just to convert the bitcoin to fiat. I don’t think telling them to buy initially is the best way. People are too ignorant & stuck in their own ways.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock Bitcoin ETF to Partners with Coinbase on: June 17, 2023, 07:53:59 AM
The approval record for Blackrock requesting ETF’s by the SEC is 575 with 1 denial. 575-1 I think the odds are heavily in the favour of approval. This is probably why the SEC has denied all spot bitcoin ETF’s previously, they were paving the way for the big boys.

Obviously not your keys not your coins but if this is approved institutional investors will pile in. Pension funds & 401k’s will be permitted to invest. This will drive the next big run up. Buckle up, it’s going to be fun.
964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you tired of waiting for the jump? Pls Hodl on: June 16, 2023, 08:54:19 PM
Patience is required to be a good investor in any asset/commodity class. The only people worrying about bitcoin at 26k are noobs or people who bought at 50k or higher. Bitcoin is volatile, it is what it is. If you have a regular job that can pay your bills then sit back & relax, bitcoin is going nowhere but up long term, everything else in between is just noise.
965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quote prices in Bitcoin or Satoshi on: June 16, 2023, 08:23:02 PM
2015 adopter here & I still can’t get my head around denominating in sats. I much prefer to just say 0.3BTC for example rather than 30,000,000 satoshi.

I know as time goes on & bitcoin becomes worth more & more (relative to fiat) that people will increasingly use satoshis rather than 0.3BTC for example but I don’t like it.

I suppose I will have to move with the times but for now I will stick to what I use.
966  Economy / Speculation / Re: You wanted decoupling, you got it. on: June 16, 2023, 07:49:55 PM
Bitcoin will recover, it already has somewhat as I type this. The price has recovered from Binance & Coinbase FUD to $26,370. We are still just ranging between $25,000 & $29,000. Resistances & support levels still present.

Talking about decoupling, I will guarantee that bitcoin outperforms stocks over the next 2.5 years.
967  Other / Off-topic / Re: When will you be comfortable to start a home. on: June 16, 2023, 07:40:35 PM
Life is so much more expensive now than when our parents & before that, grandparents bought a home, got married & started a family. The cost of living means people have different priorities You find now that lots of people rent because they can’t afford to buy a house. These days both men & women have careers so creating a family is delayed. People get married & have kids older than before. There is no right or wrong but you just need to do what is right or wrong.
968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will bitcoin influence the next U.S election? on: June 16, 2023, 04:50:06 PM
I know DeSantis & Robert F Kennedy Jr are running but I think it’ll end up being Biden vs Trump. Neither of the last two mentioned guys are bitcoin friendly sadly. I’d love for it to be one of the first two guys mentioned as they’re very pro bitcoin but I think we’ll be disappointed expecting one of them to be the next President.
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy ETH as much as you can.... on: June 16, 2023, 02:22:27 PM
ETH has an easy 15 x or more from here to the high of the next parabolic bull run. Bitcoin is King, no other coin will ever be as trusted, reliable & valuable as bitcoin but as time passes we are seeing diminishing returns, lower ROI. Because ETH is still so cheap it is more attractive to some newbies, for this reason we will see higher returns than bitcoin for a while. ETH is a great medium term hold.
970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is legalized, a dream of mine would come true on: June 16, 2023, 01:47:25 PM
Your dream isn’t impossible. You say that you’re from Bangladesh, eventually with the fiat banking system starting to show signs of failure, nations could he forced to be kinder to bitcoin or be in real trouble. Bangladeshi currency isn’t very strong, government may be forced to buy bitcoin as a hedge. They may have to do similar to what El Salvador is doing to make things better. Your dream is not impossible.
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will China takeover as the leader in blockchain and start the new bull market? on: June 14, 2023, 03:38:26 PM
It’d really be quite ironic if China ignites the next bull run after they played a huge part negatively impacting & effectively nullifying the previous one by banning bitcoin & forcing miners to leave.

I know they are somewhat being open to crypto in Hong Kong now but I am sceptical that they will suddenly open the gates to the whole country to enable mass buying by retail investors.

I hope China seize the opportunity that is possibly being given to them by a hostile regulatory environment in the US. Let’s wait & see how it develops.
972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I received 65 BTC from an unknown address... on: June 14, 2023, 03:03:11 PM
If you are an honest man, maybe you should return the bitcoin to the sending address. I’m just trying to think if you could morally deduct between 1 & 5 bitcoin before returning the 60 bitcoin. I will leave that decision up to you (if this is even true of course).

Can you sign a message from the receiving address to show that this is genuine?
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I love Bitcoin on: June 14, 2023, 12:53:57 PM
We all love bitcoin, that’s why we’re here right? Bitcoin has changed so many lives for the better, the separation of money from state is something so important during these difficult times. Being able to be your own bank s so important to so many people around the world who don’t have access to traditional banking. I know I am lucky to be in bitcoin kind of early, it changed my life.
974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best career for women on: June 12, 2023, 08:31:53 AM
Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency, NOT a career.

I guess they could still work for companies that pay their employees in bitcoin, companies like Stripe, exchanges etc.

What’s not important though is gender in this, bitcoin is not better in any way for men or women. Bitcoin is for everybody, the only important thing is that you load up with as much as you can afford to.
975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are giving too much importance to exchanges on: June 11, 2023, 10:18:10 AM
Exchange issues can affect the price of bitcoin, even for a sustained period but the OP is right, people do give too much importance to exchanges. Bitcoin will be here for a longer time than all currently existing exchanges. They can all go down & whilst the BTC/USD exchange rate may go down, 1BTC = 1BTC, nothing can change that.

I’m well aware of the current problems Binance & Coinbase are having with US regulators but let’s look at the bigger picture. Bitcoin is fine & will get through whatever they throw at us.
976  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Individual temperaments and outcome on: June 10, 2023, 09:22:18 PM
Very interesting but it’s maybe better to not get so deep & just accept that many people are different. Life would be so boring if everybody was the same. I find it interesting to socialise with people who have similar interests to me. It’s obvious when you meet somebody if you click with them. It’d be weird if we all had the same personalities & views on life.
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: June 10, 2023, 08:59:55 PM
It’s a bit like the Gold Reserve Act of 1934, the US banned all citizens from owning gold. We’re not at a crypto banning stage at the moment but the US is starting to become hostile. They can’t stop bitcoin though & I think that’s why they didn’t come for it, they only came for securities. To try & ban bitcoin would make them look weak because they can’t do it. Bitcoin & many other coins will continue to flourish despite the US authorities best efforts to stifle innovation.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 10, 2023, 08:03:07 PM
UK MP’s might want to rethink that statement because unlike here in the States, there is no tax on gambling winnings of profits. I’m sure investors over there would love that to be put into their law, no taxes on profits due to ‘gambling.’

Crypto is not gambling though is it, it’s investing. Just like any stock there is always a chance of volatility, we don’t need protecting from anybody. We are all capable of assessing our own risk.
979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBDC competing with bitcoin on: June 09, 2023, 03:55:29 PM
CBDC’s can’t compete with bitcoin because they’re a totally different thing. Bitcoin is hard money, it’s designed to be taken into self custody, no middlemen involved, nobody can control your money & what you spend it on except you. CBDC’s are the exact opposite, government spyware, issued & basically controlled by governments & banks. I don’t like the idea of CBDC’s at all but if they come I will use them sparingly, as little as possible. I will not be told limits on what I can buy or what I can buy.
980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Male Dominated on: June 09, 2023, 02:57:01 PM
Bitcoin is for everybody, I do have to say that although huge efforts are made worldwide to cut the pay gap between men & women, create equal rights etc, I do feel that bitcoin is male dominated. Don’t get me wrong, there are many women involved but in my experience at least, there are more men that women who are deep down the rabbit hole.
