981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MetaMask Unveils Instant Bank Withdrawals on: September 07, 2023, 11:35:11 AM
I'm sure there will be users who will find this convenient but I'm personally not a fan. I would rather go the longer route and pay extra fees for moving funds from Metamask to one or two centralize exchange I use for a long time. I think that's a smaller price to pay than having my personal information submitted to various platforms.
Right, gonna be 50/50 for me as well, as much as wanted it to be instant in some cases, it might not be good in the long run. Plus how much they are going to charge for this one? The price could be similar to other banking services for sure and there could be instances that it will not be instant withdraws. I have similar problems years ago with such cases, that I have to call the bank or the platform itself as they advertised it to be instant with a higher fee. And that time I needed the money right away but the services fail me.
982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding Crypto wallet and traditional wallets for beginners on: September 07, 2023, 10:53:16 AM
For me, if you want to be involved in crypto, that is the first thing that we should understand, the basics of the wallet because there are different kinds. And then the most important, how to protect your wallet, your private keys and mnemonic phase.

Otherwise, someone can steal your crypto if you are not attended with your private keys, so know and learn the security hygiene behind it. And as you mature, then maybe you will go to like hardware wallet and then air gap wallets, far more advanced, but the essence is still there.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: September 07, 2023, 10:27:54 AM
So according to Eddie Hearn, this fight is still alive but the signed October 28 date is off. Eddie is looking for the last week of November or early December as its new date.

I haven't seen enough hype about this fight. The media is more focused on Canelo and Crawford nowadays. I wonder if Eddie made the right call by signing Regis Prograis and Devin Haney. These guys aren't cheap and will be paid millions of dollars but they need to sell tickets, PPV, and convince companies for sponsorships. Maybe the fans are tired of Haney's boring style and while Prograis packs a punch, he is not that popular to the casuals.
Yeah, it's a big gamble that Eddie Hearn and his company sign this two boxers who for me hasn't had a good solid followers. No doubt that they are great boxers, but in the current state of boxing industry, you need to sell fights, you need to fill the arena with people that are willing to pay expensive tickets just to see boxers give a good show.

And I don't think that the 2 fits that perfectly. Haney is the undisputed in 135 lbs, but it takes two to tango to make the fight sell, just like in his last fight against Loma. As for Regis, 140 lbs? doesn't have a good name to bring the hype in this division.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: September 07, 2023, 10:16:30 AM
...
The worst aspect is when exploitative casino owners employ influencers to advertise their gambling applications. It's practically impossible to stop; even rival casinos are capable of producing illicit activity; they make it seem legitimate, but it's not.

Do you mean that using influencers or people with a high internet presence is illegal on your country? Because that would be rather a weird legislation to have, keeping in mind how big social media and casino advertisement is nowadays.

Unless you are talking about other illicit activities which somehow have something to do with casinos in your country; if a country and its authorities are corrupt enough, I would not surprised if they used casinos to launder money for pin-kings in exchange for a good percentage of the money. It is something I could totally see happening here in my homeland, even though brick n mortar establishments are kind of trapped in a grey legal zone since the arrival of the socialist party to power.
I think it's the latter, I have seen a lot of influencers who promote casinos even in legal countries and still they are allowed to do that. Obviously, for countries that ban gambling, it's totally different.

But like where the country that I lived in, there are major casinos around, and then you can access online gambling anytime you want. So there will be a lot of influencers that are going to be paid to promote that gambling sites and the government will not do anything about it as because the tax generated by this online casinos are huge for them.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 07, 2023, 09:27:28 AM
Shakur's belt isn't on the line but this is a title fight for WBC vacant title. Martin seem under rated fighter with more experience than Shakur but had not give more shots for a title fight but this one. The WBC however is not making it easy for him as he is to fight one of the technical fighter.

Shakur had capitalized his wins against the big names he fought.
Shakur is not a champion here, all the belts still belongs to Haney. But it seems that Shakur is on the rise in this division. And with this fight, I think more is on the line here for Shakur, to the point that I think this is a must win for him to stay in path for at least the WBC belt.

But as you have said, his oppponent is one underrated fighter, and so he will try to do his best to upset Shakur here. So let's see how it goes, Shakur might be the favorite but I think it will be a close one in the sport bookies.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 06, 2023, 02:13:46 PM

One of the things that most excites me about this boxer is that he is when it comes to challenges, rematches, and above all when there is a belt or something similar, well, he assumes it and prepares himself with more intensity, perhaps the fact of being a A very disciplined person and that is what marks him out compared to others, I want to see this fight and see what kind of strategy Tapales will use, but where I went, my strategy was to be on the defensive, make him get tired and counterattack, because the truth is I can't think of any strategy against him, because he really is a boxer who can quickly read the other boxer's plan, and I think that is also the intelligence he uses, and that is quite difficult for some, For me, boxing is 80% intelligence and 20% effort with the body, however, what you train the most is your body to resist the blows that you are going to receive.

It is the advantage of Inoue. He anticipates his opponent's strategy and adjusts things at the right timing.

If he sees that he can absorb his opponent's attack, then expect him to be more aggressive. I used to remember the first fight against
Donaire where after being almost taken down.

When he manages to get up and compose his self, that the time he really become aggressive and really attacks the most, then
he earned that fight a win.
The first fight against Donaire, it was the last time that we have seen Inoue almost lost the fight. It was a hard fought give and take and he absorbs all what Donaire can bring to the point that he suffered a broken orbital bone and yet he pushes for the fight and win it.

But there are fans or even boxers who thought that Inoue lost that fight. If I'm not mistaken, Roy Jones Jr was one of them. I remember as well though, that Jone is a big fan of Donaire so he might be biased on that.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 06, 2023, 01:35:01 PM
I still can't see odds on this fight. But I am expecting Casimero to be the favorite. Oguni is not really a solid fighter that would threaten Casimero. He's not in the current rankings in his division. Although this fight will happen in Oguni's home country and that is his advantage, I don't see how Casimero would be affected. Casimero has been entering lions den in the past, going to his opponents' backyard and win. If the ML odds for Casimero isn't that low, it's a safe bet.
As far as boxing odds goes, specially if there are no hype like this one, most likely the odds are going to be put out in the last minutes. Most likely maybe a day or two on our favourite sport bookies.

But if we look at the records, it's obvious that John Riel Casimero will be the odds favorite here. And I doubt see a enticing odds on the ML. Might be better if it will be listed to look for other options like per round, or round range bet.
988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin moving now? on: September 06, 2023, 12:52:14 PM
Moves where actually ? Because BTC is sleeping right now without any clear intentions to go either up or down. We've been in this area for quite a while now ...almost 3 months and I don't see BTC making any sudden move in price until the end of August.
In short we are moving sideways, and I'm not surprised though, I think if we go months, after a huge run in around January-April, the price suddenly goes in a sideways, after hitting $31k.

Maybe , after summer cycle ends , Bitcoin might start dancing with the price but normally it should go up bit by bit.  Grin
Maybe this last quarter, I mean this is the last push for this year, so hopefully we might be looking for some positive signs. There are predictions that we might be looking for at least $50k this December, but not sure if we can meet that expectations though. I will be on the fence, I don't see it going on that direction, to be honest. But we will see, crossing my fingers.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fan of casino reviews online? This is a must-read on: September 06, 2023, 12:42:48 PM
To cut this topic short, stay the hell away from TrustPilot, I think Coinguru is still a better choice.
They could have been receiving this sort of bribes from scam casinos that's why they seems to be not not rating them negatively. However, I don't trust this casino review site in the beginning though, because I have this hunch already.

So yeah, might be better to look for other alternatives, or just like what we have seen, it's better to do your own research before playing to any casinos out there. Or just stay with this community as I think this is biggest "library" of all crypto related casinos, bet it a scam or reputable one.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin Dumps $578K in MakerDAO Tokens on: September 05, 2023, 12:09:52 PM
Vitalik Buterin is a smart man
Yeah, he surely does and that's why he's taking profits. He's known for that but people are thinking that if he sells this and that, there must be some plans from his mind that's being built up. But the thing is that, no matter what people think of it, he's just there to dump and take profits.

Or maybe he's just bitter since MakerDAO left Ethereum for Solana. Bullish for Solana, if they can handle it.
Not taking it personally, he's just like us that has his own personal interest and all about the money. He has even dump his own ETH during the bull run, IIRC that was on 2017 and also on 2021. So, there's no bitterness on that. It's just that he's also a human being looking for profits if he sees the opportunity and being permitted by time.
Not to burst the bubble but yeah, I think this is personal for him. That's why he sell his stash because they are moving to a new Solana-based NewChain. So he could have thinking, good riddance to the project and then dump everything.

And after that it's over for him, and most likely he might think that MakerDAO did make a big mistake. However, I'm not sure why the move though, perhaps they don't like what they are seeing on Ethereum or just having problems with his chain or something.
991  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 04, 2023, 03:24:36 PM
^  It might be another September red candle or we're due for a green one.  Wink Wink Wink  We really can't tell with these things.  No matter how hard we try to make the right predictions, all we can really do is make the trade and hope we're right.  All we can really control is when and where to take our stop loss.

Anyway looks like the sentiment is split between sideways and up.  I'm on the same boat.  I think we're due for a leg up.
And with that, we can either just continue to buy or just hold the bitcoin. No point of selling it in September or when the price is not really looking good. I'm no trader though, so I'm not looking for stop loss or something.

I'm just an average joe who buy when I can afford and just hold. Because as per my experience, and for sure we all know this, that once we enter the bull run, no one can stop us from reaching all time high. And most likely it will be 2024-2025 bull run for all of us. So just be patience this month, and look for the long term.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 04, 2023, 01:24:48 PM
I think with regards to giving Casimero a chance, Casimero must prove himself a bit more on this weight division.  He must secure impressive wins against his upcoming opponent to impress the boxing council and possibly consider him as the top contender of that division.
He certainly needs to prove everything in this division because it's not the same anymore when he was still at 118 where he dominated each and every opponent he faced.
This time, it's new to him and the people, even the bodies are still not that convinced of what he did hence why he got a much lower rank because if these bodies have thought the opposite then Casimero should've started in the Top 10 like the other boxers who made a name in their previous weight classes.

At least currently, the effort is being rewarded from being unranked before to ranked.
Yes, he started at a unranked fighter as obviously this is a new division for him. But after 2 fights, he is slowly breaking into the top 5 or top 100.

Casimero just needs to keep on winning to be eligible as a contender regardless of who os the opponent, ranked or unranked, popular or not. Losing should not even be an option as losing one of his future fight from now will just result from starting again at the bottom. Who knows that he will soon face Inoue but actually it doesn't matter as the goal is to become a champion again. Don't chase Inoue and just follow what on his timeline. If they will meet, they will meet.
So consistency is the key although we wanted for to him impressively. I guess we are used to seeing this man knocking people out. But he should focus one fight at a time, this time is opponent doesn't have a good record so hopefully he can win and it could be a added bonus if that is a big knockout. And then after that, maybe he can chase Inoue. If no Inoue then just continue with fighting good boxers like Nery.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 04, 2023, 01:08:37 PM
There is a rumor floating around that Errol Spence had broken his ties with long time trainer Derrick James.
Again, this is just a rumor and could be fake news, but we all know that when fighters suffer their first defeat, they usually change trainers.
Just like with Anthony Joshua. And they said that the replacement will be Roy Jones. But that's where it gets interesting as Roy Jones for me is not a good trainer.
This is not good for Spence if this is true, if he is going to change it should be a trainer that is better than his current trainer, it will take a lot of time for both of them to familiarize each other they will need a tune-up fight first to fully familiarize or if Roy Jones style and method is suited for Spence.
Spence I believe is devastated he will not think of changing his trainer if he is not, They have gone a long way, and the loss in fact is a big challenge for both of them to improve, Derrick James' replacement just proved that Spence is ready to take a risk just to get even with Crawford.
It might and might not work for Spence if he switch coaches specially in a rematch. And it's true, and so as almost all other sports. It will be the coaches that will get the blame if a team or a individual losses a hight stake game.

So for me it's a bad move for Spence. Just stick with Derrick James, this is just his first lost under James and maybe also Derrick learn a lot from the first fight. James also become trainer of the year as well, so his credentials speak for himself. Pacquiao didn't change trainer when he lost, but instead him and coach Freddie try to improved in their next fights.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 04, 2023, 12:49:15 PM
He's not a good player to trade for Giannis. There's no question that Davis is talented, but it's a big gamble for the Bucks to accept Davis because he's known to be injury-prone. While we're not hoping he will get injured, history has shown that he has been plagued by injuries most of the time. This is also the reason he was traded to the Lakers from the Pelicans.
The Bucks don't want him. PERIOD.

Can Davis be the franchise player of the Bucks? How can you put your trust into a player who's injury prone, and anytime, there's a chance that he might be out for the whole season? If healthy, he is a double-double machine, and one of the best bigs out there, but there's an "IF" on it. His performance last season is pretty well. Lesser injuries, and played well, but still there are still doubts if he can sustain to play that way knowing that he's been injured, and play only a few games for a number of years in the past.

The Bucks don't want to risk getting Davis for Giannis, and they will rather find another team that can give them better players than the Lakers. I believe those who has many draft picks are the ones that has the highest chance in getting him.

I'm curious now because, as far as I know, Giannis was rumored not to re-sign with the Bucks once he becomes a free agent. So, why are we discussing a possible trade here? I also gave my opinion about the potential trade, but now I realize that, is the trade really going to happen?

Since there are no trade rumors, all the discussions about which team could potentially land Giannis and which players would be exchanged for him don't make sense.

Perhaps the more appropriate discussion is which team could potentially sign Giannis in the upcoming offseason.

Maybe they are exploring about possibilities that might happen. But for now that's not possible to happen since for sure Bucks provably can do all just retain Giannis on their roster.

He is their main star so I'm sure that they can't afford to lose him since this could be a long drought to their team if that happen.
But I'm sure Giannis will stay and sill not go to other teak since he is the type of guy which is so committed on his team.
Yes, everything is still on the speculation phase, Giannis will still have to play the whole season and see how Bucks will go. Maybe what Giannis is feeling is that after their championship, they even had a hard time getting into the 2nd round of the playoffs.

And remember that Middleton and Holiday are going to be in their mid 30's. And Lopez too is in his 30's if I'm not mistaken. So the team is getting old and most likely this is what in the minds of Giannis rightn now that's why he said that he might leave the Bucks for another good team.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 01, 2023, 04:07:54 AM
Most probably yeah! Giannis already expressed that he wants to be on a team that could give him additional rings and he will not be staying with the Bucks if he couldn't win one anymore. So, the Warriors will be a perfect spot for him in his free agency. NBA fans are actually looking forward to this and the Bucks not gonna be the same anymore if Giannis leave, well not unless if they can make a significant improvement with the team next season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is popular in NBA game after he leaded the Bucks to Championship finals wining and around the globe. He's popularly known as the Greek Freak in the game. Milwaukee Bucks should do everything within their reach to retained the top-notch player in the club, because it would be hugh loss if he moves out. Giannis only wants titles and winning rings would be the appropriate credits he deserved, furthermore the team should signed more important players that will aides in enhancing and strengthening the club interms of performance on the court.
Of course, the Bucks management will have to do everything in their power to retain the services of the Bucks. Giannis becoming the face of the franchise and even winning a NBA ring for them after a long drought.

But if he chooses to go and take another route, then they can't do anything about the Greek Freak. That's why this season is a must for the Bucks to at least go to the finals because this could be the last year of Giannis if I'm not mistaken, so whether he extends or signs a new contract? We will have to see then.

What more can they do? Despite awarding him a max contract, Giannis still remains unwilling to extend his tenure with the team. In my opinion, it's not solely about the money for Giannis at this point; rather, it's the opportunity to secure another championship. He aims to solidify his legacy in the NBA while he's still young. I believe that the offerings the Bucks can provide Giannis can also be matched by other teams he might consider joining. Given that Giannis is currently in his prime and virtually unstoppable, his desired benefits are attainable elsewhere.

While not the most vocal player, Giannis has now expressed his inclination to part ways with the Bucks for the first time. This suggests that his statement holds genuine weight.
What's scary though is his statement that he doesn't want to stay on a team in 20 years and then it doesn't win championship. Which means for him, it's the ring that is important and not loyalty, unfortunately.

And we all know where he is coming, we understand it, specially on how they were defeated by the Miami Heat. And he feels that something needs to be done or they could have won that playoffs. And it was a rude awakening for him, that he will have to find other teams in the future if he wants more ring in his finger.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 01, 2023, 03:50:47 AM
What is the one behaviour you noticed in a gambler and  you dislike it? You don't need to have a reason for disliking it but you just do.

As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

What about you, what do you dislike ?
Blaming someone when they lost. Like if you are playing slots in a traditional land base casinos and then by accident you are sitting beside someone who got a bonus unfortunately he didn't get a huge payout. And then they are going to complain that they have bad luck because the one sitting beside them has some bad omen.

Of course, we will hear them whine and complain and everything but didn't understand that everything is based on your luck. Also some gamblers who just show or flash their winnings, but you will never hear anything when they have a big lost the previous days and that his current winnings might just be break even for him. But still he feels like he has won big that day.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: September 01, 2023, 03:38:33 AM
What is the benefits of gambling to your society?
I think we can give example to Macau, one of the biggest gambling destination if not the biggest and it's located in Southeast Asia. So if we look at the numbers, their gambling industry contributed 50% of Macau's GDP, and accounted for more than one-third of employment.

https://www.thinkchina.sg/can-macaus-economy-move-beyond-gambling-and-gaming-industry

So somewhat it become a tourist spot, jobs are created thru their gambling industry, and obviously, they are making a lot of money to the tune of billions of dollars annually. And with that, we can say that gambling per se has benefited their society. As I have said, there are jobs, economy are booming and then becoming the only source for economic funds.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 01, 2023, 03:26:12 AM
When I hear mental health and gambling, I can only think of as you are just having some fun while playing. However, if you are too stressed in your life and then uses gambling as a form of entertainment to escape the reality? It might not be good in the long run. Definitely you can become an addict, but if you have self-control and be responsible, then the effects is that you are going to lose money.

And if you can afford that, then I do not think that it will have a negative impact on your side. You can still have the time to mingle and be with your family and at the same time have your on me time to gamble whether with friends in traditional based casinos or online playing at your home.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 01, 2023, 03:00:42 AM
Looks like Jerwin Ancajas by decision is the majority vote with over 52%, including my very own vote. But I while think its reasonable to believe this, I would love to know everyone else's opinion on why exactly they think a Jewin Ancajas by KO is much less likely. Is it because Takuma Inoue has only known to have been KO'd only once in his career, by Nordine Oubaali? Or is it because he has only lost once? Huh

Sure Takuma might be tough but a punch from Jerwin is no joke. I think the chance of a KO should be higher than the polls are currently reflecting. Not as high as a by decision but still quite much higher.

I think it's because Ancajas is more careful now, he is not so aggressive, he fight smartly to be able to comeback being a champion. Personally, I believe that he will win, but this fight is more like very technical as both wants to win. As per record, Ancajas is more experience with 34 fights while
Takuma Inoue only has 18 fights, and also Inoue's KO rate is very low as he only have 4 KO wins from 18 fights, which is very opposite to his brother, so no doubt Ancajas will get this win.
I guess before maybe Jerwin thought that he can just go and fight and beat everyone with his knockout power. And with his 2 losses, he could have learn from it the hard way that he needs to be very careful now specially that this is a new weight class for him.

But we really can't take it away from him when he was the previous champion at 115 lbs as he had defended it multiple times. And hopefully, his power will carry to this new weight class and could still be a new champion.

Here is the latest win by Ancajas and be the judge if he can win against Takuma Inoue or not based on his last performance.

1000  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin is not rising soon!. on: August 31, 2023, 11:48:34 AM
Anything too fast is also good, so we have to adjust accordingly, but with this situation, I think the market will be better at the end of the year.

And if it's a good prediction, honestly it's still very good to take the positives from the price that's going on right now in the market, Bitcoin is under $30k which is where we can stack up during this time, and using year-end predictions to no avail wrong, so maybe it's possible we'll see it later this year, whether for good or otherwise.
Holding bitcoin is a no-brainer, the price is still below $30k and this is a bargain.
I'm afraid next year we may not see prices below $30k again, so this will be a good opportunity to start entering gradually.

There are many reasons why next year could be different from now.
Of course, the halving will happen soon and the volume will increase even more.

ATH will be reached when the next bull run arrives.
This is everyone's hope and will certainly be a profit field for those who buy and hold from now on.
Exactly, although I have a feeling that at least at the end of the year, the price is still going to be very cheap and could consider be a bargain for us. But after that when we approach near halving, or the halving month, we might see some good price movement.

And then after months into the halving year, we will slowly see the price growing and in 2024 we might see $50k or even higher. Will continue to have a good bullish year and then the all time high. So this is still a very good chance to save and accumulate.
