1461  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you consider appearance in business and employment? on: November 08, 2022, 10:41:38 PM
Yes, it matters A LOT, especially if you are in a client-facing role then the way you dress will also tell how the clients will address you. Also, it helps in establishing that you are someone they can trust because you care enough to dress well for your job. But if you are working a job that does not require you to talk to any clients at all, then it's okay if you just wear whatever feels comfortable for you so long as you do not disobey your office's dress code. Luckily, I'm employed in a place wherein people won't care about how you dress so long as you get the job done when they need it.

I agree with your statement- my mother is an HR and she explained it to me on how it is important and essential for you to look presentable at work. She mentioned that looking presentable and neat from your work can have an overall good and positive impression from your boss that you are somehow responsible. Looking good and taking time to at least care on your appearance can bring positive effects especially if you are employed in a position where you interact with clients on a daily basis.

Even if your work does not involve any interaction with any clients, looking presentable can give and establish a level of respect among your peers. It really goes as long way if you see someone looking very presentable compared to someone who isn't.
1462  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your take on Bitcoin adoption trust issues on: November 08, 2022, 09:35:40 PM
<snip>

What do you think one can do, to educate those young ones, And drive the point that with all honestly, Bitcoin isn't as bad as they think it is?

I agree with your statement that the hindrance towards a widescale development of cryptocurrencies is its negative view depicted in the media. There seems to be a stigma whenever a person hears or sees cryptocurrencies. This is so because various media outlets only portray negative experiences of people about their investment in BTC. That is the reason on why its adoption in some countries are prohibited and some people refuse to at least attempt to invest on it.

The only solution to this problem is to counter what the media is trying to portray it. Fortunately, lots of big businesses have started to accept BTC as an alternative mode of payment. Not to mention, some countries have also started to use BTC as their legal tender (El Salvador). All of these contribute towards the overall contribution of its positive outlook in the market.
1463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This is why it's not a good idea to leave your coins on any exchange on: November 08, 2022, 09:22:16 PM
I am sure you guys are aware about the commotion that's happening between Binance and FTX right now? Well this is a very good reason why it's not a smart idea to trust any exchanges even if they are the number 1 over other crypto exchanges.

Do not leave your coins on any exchanges all in the name of ' you trust them ' ,this is business, trust nobody, CZ is good today but that's today, we are all humans and change is constant in our lives.

If you have any fund of FTX it's better to withdraw, I heard the withdrawal was stopped but now it's open, be smart because the market can still go lower due to this commotion.

I definitely agree with your statement- though I am somehow guilty that I still keep my BTCs in our local exchange.

Remember that despite that these exchanges claim that they have the security to keep hackers from infringing our privacy, they are still the number one target. The maximum security to guarantee the safety of your cryptos is to provide a hardware wallet and deposit your coins inside. Keeping them in an exchange is a disaster waiting to happen- though I am quite guilty with this issue since the convenience of putting your coins in an exchange is too helpful for me.
1464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Bitcoin Holdings for your child from infant. on: November 08, 2022, 09:08:44 PM
<snip>
What is your opinion on my suggestion, is it a guarantee for the child's future and will  enable you to benefit from Bitcoin ?
  Grin

The suggestion you made not only applies to BTC but in investing in general. If you save capital in a monthly/yearly basis, the returns would be profitable in the following years given that it is unrecognized income. Though I agree with your suggestion, it must be considered in case-to-case basis given that the value of BTC is very inflationary and volatile.

In adherence to my above-mentioned statement, you should always convert your BTC into cash or to your desired currency if it reaches an amount higher than your initial investment. One thing that I learned over the years is that the price of BTC fluctuates and when you get too greedy, you might missed on the opportunity of converting your BTCs at its ATH to your desired currency.
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 08, 2022, 08:40:31 PM
He particularly chose Black 15 for $10K on roulette which he could have won $350,000 but a friend took the $10K and replace a safer bet. I know this is likely not to happen in real life. But let's say it did. What would you do?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT4GcK6Dpkk
I was trying to look for Kevin Hart movies on Netflix so I found one. Turns out one scene is an unsatisfying win.

If I were that person, then I would have raged and probably overthink about it. I would also daydream about the things that I could have probably bought with that money but at the end of the day, everything is already decided. It is also impossible to claim and demand $350,000 from your friend; but I would most likely cut-off my connection with him if that were the case.

Remember that though the intention of my friend is good, it does not change the fact that he lacked the authority to change my decision. Regardless of either I win or lose, the risk is borne by myself and not my friend.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Gambling Stories on: November 08, 2022, 08:08:50 PM
..snip
First, in your opinion, what would be a reasonable amount to give his girlfriend? Second, assuming you were the apprentice in the story, would you abandon your training or would you have given in to the pressure to split the money with your boss?

The reasonable amount that the person must give to his girlfriend is $10,000 + some damages (an amount that is less than $10,000). The girlfriend cannot demand around $40 million since her basis for such amount is without merit. Assuming that the person lost the entire amount, then the girlfriend is only entitled to $10,000 + damages. As a form of compromise, the person must at least pay some sort of damages on her part due to the theft that caused.

On the second issue, I would definitely abandon my training. My boss has no authority or whatsoever on the proceeds that I won personally on the gambling website. He is using his authority to abuse his power and demand some sort of funds on his part.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $128,000 and it's been a week waiting for game provider verification on: November 08, 2022, 08:42:08 AM
Hi all - so I have been playing at smaller crypto casino for a few years now. They have a TRX site and a USDT site. I have always played at the TRX site and have always had no issues with withdrawals etc. (Largest was around $26K USD)

I've started playing the USDT side recently and a week ago won $128K USD playing a few different Habanero and CQ9 games. I am waiting just over a week now with the casino telling me they are waiting for a verification report from the game provider and then they'll release my funds.

Not gonna lie I am getting worried and wanted to ask if anyone else has had a similar experience or may have some insight. Thanks in advance!!

First and foremost, please drop the name of the online casino. There may be some representatives here in this forum that could help you with your case or some representative can expedite the process faster. In addition, please also put pictures of your conversation with the person you talked to. In this way, not only you are helping yourself but you are also helping the community in avoiding gambling websites such as this one.

Second and last, there may be some internal issues that they are checking. Given that you are frequently gambling at their TRX site and then suddenly at their USDT site, they may be checking the veracity or some internal technicalities. Though this should not happen, I hope that you get your winnings as soon as possible.

Again, drop the name of the gambling website here!
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Does Gambling/Casino Ads Help An Addicted Gambler Who Wants To Stop Gambling on: November 07, 2022, 11:59:44 PM
Depends on person, if the user is not actively gambling but gambling ads trigger something on his behavior that leads to gambling more then it is problem. Generally gambling addiction can be triggered by other things too if the person has weak mental health. Even Twitch has applied strict rules for slots streaming section, gambling ads have specific targets for reason, IMO.

There is no definite answer on knowing when a person can and could stop their respective addiction, let alone gambling perse. The most important aspect when a person is addicted to something is continually giving support and care. Remember that there relapses may happen and this may worsen the addiction of a given person.

Lots of people have suggested rehab but what they need is constant care and support from their family members and peers. Understanding their situation is also one of those factors that gives you the patience to deal with your members that are addicted to gambling.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Point Do You Start Accepting Bitcoin as a Payment Option For Your Business? on: November 07, 2022, 11:44:48 PM
I have read more than five (5) posts on this forum where users celebrate accepting bitcoin as a payment option for their business. Outside of the forum, we have read news of companies such as Microsoft, Home Depot, Twitch, Whole Foods, Gyft, Benfica accepting bitcoin as a payment. The question that has been on my mind for quite a long time is that-at what point do you think a business should start accepting bitcoin as a payment option, considering profit margin, price stability, and manipulation from exchanges?

Personally, I think as soon as the business started from its inception, they should provide all the possible and available payment options in order to maximize their profit.

The biggest advantage when you integrate cryptocurrencies to your payment options is its accessibility. With this, you are also promoting BTCs which would garner attention and potentially influence other businesses from doing the same method as well. Maybe what is stopping from huge conglomerates from integrating cryptocurrencies to their payment options is regulation with their respective governments.
1470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are different way to earn money through Bitcoin on: November 07, 2022, 11:30:24 PM
Can anyone earn Free Bitcoin Without Investing in it.

No you cannot. One way or another, you have to sacrifice something that is other than money, which is your time, dedication, skill, and patience.

When I first started my BTC career back in 2017, I remember that I had to read hundreds of posts in order to grasp the bigger picture in cryptocurrencies. I also watched some videos explaining the fundamentals and basics of the blockchain technology and on how you can apply it practically. Once I was able to at least get the message, that is when I started participating into campaign signatures which provides a weekly payment of BTCs.

While I did not use any capital or initial investment of money, what I invested is my time and effort in order to know and understand the basics of BTC and cryptocurrencies. So at the end of the day, investing does not only involve money, but also some intangible things which is relevant in understanding BTCs.
1471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies: Stay away and avoid all bounties! on: November 07, 2022, 11:12:50 PM
OP you are currently promoting the Roobet project why are you telling others to avoid all bounties? Roobet is a gambling platform and you are paid in BTC 🤷‍♀️, the account you are referring to took things too far by submitting links to Twitter posts only, meaning they don't give a damn about contributing and engaging in discussions on the forum but saying people should avoid bounties is wrong.

Bounties are not generally wrong but the fact that most of them scam or defraud others is what makes it completely wrong.

In addition to my above-mentioned statement, bounties generally accept any posts regardless of its quality. This contributes wholly to the overall quality of the forum as a whole- in which these bounties are not properly regulated and checked by their manager.

Unlike bounties, campaign signatures (to which you are referring to OP's act), are heavily regulated and checked by trusted managers. In addition to that, there is proper screening to which only some few are chosen to represent a campaign.
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really inevitable? on: November 07, 2022, 10:55:58 PM
main exchanges getting forced by governments to turn over bitcoin is my worry.
coinbase, kraken, gate.io are us based companies.  couldn't the us government eo6102 them?  what would the effect be on bitcoin? what about binance or someother big exchange.

I agree with your statement- if the government cannot regulate BTC and its outputs, then their regulation would stem from its exchanges.

Back in 2017 when I first joined this forum, our local exchange was very lenient. We can freely use our wallet to buy/purchase BTC without any restrictions and KYC. In addition, you can even gamble your BTCs and put them on the wallet that you provided.

Fast forward to 2022, our local exchange now requires KYC + other supporting documents in order to prove the origin of funds. In addition to this, their TOS now prohibits any gambling-related activity. Not to mention, they become very strict and they also flag your account if you make transactions that are relatively huge.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost 270 dollar in roullete plan on revenge on: November 07, 2022, 01:22:41 PM
Today i was in colombia lost 1.4 million pesos
Even lucky people like me got it wrong sometime

I plan to revenge and withdrawed 1000 usd from my bank to make big bets and beat them.

When i cane back they  closesd he casino they lucky to close before i play again i had all my adrelaine and mood to win and bankrupt them.
Tomorrow i visit them again and take what is mine.

Btw i recover most  on the funds with bc.game today but i want revenge on this casino phyisical casino.

You pretty much got lucky- what you did (borrowed money from the bank to use as capital for gambling) is extremely risky. Imagine if you lost your money with a debt in the bank, you are most likely putting yourself into bankruptcy. Next time, limit your spending and go easy on the bets. Do not sacrifice everything for the sake of gambling even if you experience a loss.

Remember that even if you lost tons of money in one day, you will most likely recover this in a more safer method, which is to work. By borrowing money from the bank and betting it again, you are definitely putting your savings at risk.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: November 07, 2022, 12:54:21 PM
Someone with a strict budget of gambling with $10, decides to start online gambling after been told by a friend, but on signing up discovers that the minimum deposit accepted is above the amount budgetted for gambling. Does high minimum deposit fees from online casino discourage gamblers who want to stick to a budget and influences them to gamble with bigger amounts?

Online gambling companies have their respective standards as to which the amount of minimum withdrawal may be. This is so because this is something that keeps them protected against the odds. Imagine, you have $1 on your pocket and you suddenly won the entire jackpot. Of course, this may seem impossible due to the number of odds against you but it is definitely possible.

Quote
[/i]If yes, and that perhaps is a reason behind many other online casinos keeping their minimum deposits as low as $1, Could low minimum deposit be an encouragement for people to come gamble regardless of the money they have to gamble? Does minimum withdrawal encourage players to try again and keep gambling if they don't win up to the minimum withdrawal?

It actually depends on which perspective you are viewing it. I am on the opinion that minimum withdrawals are required in order to protect the gambling company from bankruptcy. It somehow gives this blanket of protection by allowing a $10 minimum fee to access its games, etc.
1475  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you bet ESports or table tennis? If so, this is a must read. on: November 07, 2022, 08:36:31 AM
If you are a scammer, you can stop reading now. I don’t have time for games.

Do you like money? Free money? Do you bet table tennis or e sports?

If so, you should contact me on TG @KindSoul111.

Wow- you just somehow completely contradicted your first statement. By asking people to contact you on TG and claiming that your bets win 99.99% of the time, you are in the position of what you just mentioned; a complete "scammer" by any sense.

Quote
I have been restricted from many sports book websites lol

Without revealing too much information, I can assure you that we are as legit as they come. We will never ask you for a payment before making YOU money. We give you a pick, you pay us a percentage and we give you another. All bets win 99.999999999% of the time.

Once again, I am here to make money, scammers go waste someone else’s time.

Thanks for reading!

Stay safe and stay green.

If you discovered a method which claims to win you 99% of the time, then why would anyone share this method or trick? Why not use that so-called method that you use repeatedly and win cash? Why go through the hassle of teaching and contacting you via TG, etc.

Again, this is nothing but an attempt to defraud other people. If anyone is interested in this, then this is the sign for you to completely ignore and avoid this user.

1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your winnings lured someone into gambling ? on: November 06, 2022, 11:58:31 PM
As a gambler we see winning big as success is gambling, do you share and celebrate your winning story with friends ?

Have your winning story or celebration lured someone you know into gambling because he wants to win big like you

                                 OR

Have you ever taught or predicted a game for someone which turn out to be a win,how big was it ?

It is actually the way around- I was somehow influenced by my friend who showed me their winnings on a gambling website which somehow compelled me to try it.

I remember seeing my friend, showing me this automated bot where you can win some cryptocurrencies into gambling. Due to the peak of my curiosity, I did not hesitate to try it and fortunately it won me some cash worth $100.

Though that may be the case, this is extremely and potentially dangerous to other people. While it is not entirely wrong to show your winnings, you must always tell them to be cautious before gambling as seeing and experiencing the greener side of the grass is not always the case.
1477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi Needs to Reveal His Identity ? on: November 04, 2022, 11:57:32 PM
There are so many people in the Bitcoin Talk Forum who have interest to discover the true identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. Also there are few who oppose the matter, that Satoshi Nakamoto must not reveal his identity.

I am so much confused regarding matter. So I think, it would be better to arrange a concensus about the identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. The members of this forum can vote for themselves and it will be helpful for Satoshi Nakamoto to make a correct discussion.

What is your opinion ?

No, Satoshi does not need to reveal his identity at all.

Let's say that you are on of those persons who created a revolutionary product and you also saved thousands of bitcoins at your personal account. Would you reveal your identity to the public? Admittedly, this would be considered suicide both to the government and to the public. The former would definitely question your goals given that you created one of the currency which is responsible for illegal trading under the dark web; and the latter which would haunt you publicly for your funds.

While millions are definitely curious behind the person or group of persons responsible for creating BTC (Satoshi Nakamoto), such person/persons would not reveal their identity at all. In fact, he or they may be even dead at all (due to covid).
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which has better odds, lottery, online gambling, or sports betting? on: November 04, 2022, 11:27:12 PM
We have an active gambling discussion section and I would very much love to hear the opinions of experienced gamblers on which has better odds, lottery, online gambling, or sports betting?

I do think that sports betting has a relatively higher chance of winning compared to any other methods and games under online gambling.

Compared to the ones you mentioned, sports betting is one of those games where you rely on information, current statistics, data, and knowledge of the game to decide which team to bet on. You based your decision depending on the performance of the team- so data and knowledge play a crucial role on which team you will be betting on.

Unlike sports betting, some games rely heavily on luck which has no basis at all. While you cannot control the risks associated, in sports betting there are at least some factors that you are aware that will decide on which team you would bet on.

Hey, congratulations for winning such a big amount on sports betting OP! I really admire people who step on the breaks after winning a huge amount of money. I know some people that after winning big, they still continue to gamble which sometimes result to them losing every winnings in the process.

Since you also mentioned that you will be quitting gambling until 2023, I guess that is a decent timeframe for you to take a break and enjoy your money. With that kind of winnings, I would definitely consider quitting completely and call it a memorable gambling experience for you to share and cherish for the rest of your life.

And so this is the official documents filed by Niemann for a defamation case against Magnus, Chess.com and GM Hikaru Nakamura. It's it has a lot of zeroes, hehehe, $100 million.

https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.moed.198608/gov.uscourts.moed.198608.1.0.pdf

I don't know how far this case will go, nevertheless and if I'm not mistaken, this is the first time that we have heard this kind of noise in the chess industry. And so the drama continues and we will see what "proof" Carlsen and Chess.com will produce in front of the court for their cheating allegations.

I think that this would be a very difficult case for Niemann if he wants to prove that a defamation case does exist.

Again, $100 million is a lot of money and Carlsen would definitely hire lawyers who would prove against the idea that Niemann raised. I am also baffled on what Niemann is asking- he is considered a cheater due to participating into online tournament with the use of engines on his side. Given this fact, I do think that the case he filed would be against him- which is worsening his position and futility.
