1421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 22, 2022, 11:25:56 PM
Exactly! Exhibition fights are just pure entertainment with no meant harm to the boxers who will be participating the said fight and in this case, just like any other exhibition fights, judges will not be around because they have no purpose to record anything what's going on in the ring. Even if we turn upside down, the fight is 99.9% scripted, no matter what will they say to each other. They are just there to market the fight, no harm meant.

BUT, there's a but. A knockout is completely legal, so there's still a chance that we might see a much entertaining fight because the other camp will somehow retaliate because of that action.
People do not really realize how hard boxers can hit since we watch fights which last 12 rounds almost every week, however they hit so hard that a single punch would be all what it would be needed for most professional fighters to KO a regular person, and there are some boxers which are so strong that they can even KO during a sparring match even when their partner is using gear to protect themselves, so even if it is an exhibition match if Manny does not reduce the strength of his punches he could still KO his opponent even if that is not his intent, now it is unlikely this outcome would occur but it is still a possibility.

This is interesting- so exhibition matches are 99% scripted? I always thought that exhibition matches show the prowess and skill of the boxer given that they are against amateurs who have little-to-no boxing skills at all. But then again, watching Manny Pacquiao on the ring again is definitely a privilege to see. His footwork and speed are just unmatchable compared to any boxer that I have seen!

Regardless whether this fight is scripted or not, I just want to witness again the art of boxing like what Pacquiao trademarked for. Getting him on the ring with someone would be an honor and watching him fight is just a feat that cannot be missed!
1422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Biggest reason why you dont make profit first on: November 22, 2022, 11:02:53 PM
I got your points straight. You were trying to say that the higher your trading capital, the higher your chances of making more profit and with more profit, one would have the patience to watch the market and be certain when best to strike a trade.
I totally agree with you on this regardless of your science of the human brain because Iearnt  this theory of increasing the trading capital to maximize profits myself and I can attest to it

The points raised by OP are definitely reasonable but it is easier said than done. Remember, if you trading with a huge capital on the market, the slightest increase/decrease on the price could mean a gain/loss of hundreds of thousands on your part. If there is one thing that I learned in trading, it is that you should never become too greedy on your portfolio. The longer you hold the profit, the more chances of you gaining a loss due to the volatility of BTC.

Maybe another point that should be raised is that trading requires patience and knowledge on the market. While it definitely has the potential of earning thousands of dollars in a short amount of time, you should never be complacent every time you trade.
1423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are there lots of accounts that seem abandoned? on: November 22, 2022, 10:33:34 PM
I've been going through the forum lately and I've seen alot of accounts that seem abandoned and I've been tempted to know what really happened to them.
I've been seen some high ranked up to hero ranked accounts and so much low ranked accounts that seem abandoned with last login showing over two to three years ago and I really wanted to know if the forum has any provisions to check up on its members either through email or whatever means if a member suddenly stops appearing online.

Please pardon me if this topic has been discussed, and I will be glad if I'm pointed to it So I can know what happened, and hope I'm asking this in the right thread.

Most likely, these accounts are temporarily abandoned or if not abandoned, maybe the owners completely disposed of their account and focused on a different path. My friend who introduced me to this forum is unfortunately gone and inactive at the moment. Also, there are also some users who got banned by the moderators for violating the TOS and Rules of this forum.

It somehow sucks if a well-known person here in this forum takes a break. Like, you see them actively discussing on boards then suddenly they just vanished. Maybe others are just taking a temporary break since sometimes, this forum can also be draining at the same time.
1424  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: November 22, 2022, 05:14:09 PM
Hmm it actually depends on the definition of "safe" when it comes to transactions. Generally, there are exchanges which have been existing for years now (e.g. binance, etc.) and they have proven their integrity and honesty all throughout. Despite this, they are still prone to hackers given the amount of transactions that happen on their exchange.

No matter how "safe" an exchange may be, always expect that they are still prone to hackers. That is why the golden rule is to never keep your coins inside an exchange as you will never know when or how they will be hacked (e.g. binance was hacked and ~$570 million worth of coins were stolen).
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto survive? on: November 22, 2022, 03:20:08 PM
Anyone out there have words of encouragement regarding the future of crypto? Anything the future holds to look forward to?

Along with the negative outcomes and experiences you have mentioned, why don't you focus more on the brightside?

Bitcoin has been used as legal tender in El Salvador. Lots of exchanges and BTC ATMs have been implemented all throughout the year; and lots of countries have started to accept and integrate cryptocurrencies to their financials. Even if there are some negative experiences with BTC, your primary basis should be its price- the price remained constant and booming ever since it was released.

Though you may have some doubts over it, the fact that it has been ongoing for nine (9) years now with a significant price tag on the market is the basis that everything is sailing consistently.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 22, 2022, 02:41:24 PM
I think I am one of the unluckiest gambler/bettor out here, today is one of my worst days again and I think I should quit betting.

I went all in on Argentina thinking their match against Saudi Arabia would be an easy win for them, and the fact that the odds were so far away against Saudi Arabia winning while it was in huge favor of Argentina caused me to be so sure that Argentina was going to win the match, and then, I went all in, hoping to make some big wins just like yesterday, but now, everything is gone, in just a twinkle of an eye...
Argentina is a big disappointment, It's still hard to believe, I quit betting until I am able to forget this experience entirely.

Ohh that is really to bad to hear, OP. I guess this is the sign where you should take a break from gambling. Well, even if sportsbetting has a lower chance of losing compared to other kinds of gambling method (e.g. cards, slots, etc.), I guess the odds are not in your favour today.

You deserve to take the break and rest. The system is slowly eating your insanity. I do commend you OP for deciding to stop since most gamblers tend to gamble again whenever they experience a loss in hopes of recovering it. Take a break and explore other options of entertainment for the meantime!
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Rate The Casino's Support You're Playing on: November 22, 2022, 01:50:22 PM
I'm disappointed with one casino I'm supporting because their action is unreasonable and on how they address the accusation they hurdle against them.

Do you think support should not attack the personality of the player and concentrate on the issue?
Do you think casino management should get support with backgrounds in human relations and psychology to understand the action and behavior of the complainants and address it in a proper way?
Do you think support can make or break the casino's reputation?

Give me at least two or three casinos with outstanding support, that you wish other casinos should emulate.

The casino management is nothing but the most crucial aspect on the lifespan of an online gambling website. A proper functioning casino has at least a consistent customer support service that can inquire and inform you in case you encounter any issues playing (e.g. payment issues, bugs, etc.).

Like what most casino support system that should have, they should not attack the personality of the player. Remember, this is a service industry where you should focus on the issue at hand. Without a proper customer support system, this can actually make/break the lifespan of a casino as they will definitely lose their trust among its players.
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Feel All The Emotions When We Gamble on: November 21, 2022, 11:52:14 PM
When we gamble we feel all the emotions, like when we feel excited when we are chasing our losses, feeling happy when we won a big amount, feeling depressed when we lose and we feel frustrated when what we expected to happen did not materialize, this is one of the reasons why we cannot stop gambling because we feel all the emotions.

Do you agree that we cannot stop gambling because it completed all our emotions and do you have other feelings when you gamble.

Oh definitely! Gambling triggers all sorts of emotions (e.g. anger, happiness, fear, anxiety, etc.) and that is one of the reasons on why people love gambling.

Take this as an example: whenever you try to do an extreme sport, you are scared initially of trying it out. But once you have tried it, there is this feeling of relief where you have accomplished something that was seemingly impossible but you triumphed on the end. These waves of emotions can also be felt while a person gambles- the adrenaline of waiting, the anxiety while betting your money, and the happiness/sadness that you feel in the end after you have won/lost your bet.

This is practically the reason on why some people use gambling as a form of entertainment.
1429  Economy / Reputation / Re: REQUEST FOR ATTENTION OF: All 1xbit Signature Campaign Participants on: November 21, 2022, 11:36:35 PM
after a while, they seem not to update their old campaigns. today 1xBit opened a new campaign 1x₿it.com | The World Cup Adventure Signature Campaign 🏆 | Up to $100/week.
some of their old participants will likely join again. but several new accounts have also applied. some with negative tags but not from previous campaign participation.
maybe soon the OP should update the list.

At every big sporting event, 1XBIT is always there to take advantage to victimize more people, I remember just last year in the month of December when the market is doing great, they are running three signature campaigns on their Christmas giveaways, they are likely to make a repeat, of these campaigns, and after the Christmas campaign giveaways, we have many scam complaints at the first quarter of the year against 1XBIT these are those who join in their Christmas signature campaign.

This is just disgusting on all levels- taking advantage of an event in order to monetize their personal gain through false advertisements being spread in this forum. Unfortunately, users with negative trust would try and apply for the campaign, spreading false information purely for their personal greed.

I hope that the 1xbit campaign here in this forum would be totally disregard by others. I mean, it has been proven countless of times that they fail to acknowledge all the allegations against them. Even with substantiated proof, that casino refuses to pay its players with their winnings, yet people still advertise it here in this forum.
1430  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Reminder: Treat Exchanges as Marketplaces on: November 21, 2022, 11:21:34 PM
Dear newbies, please treat exchanges, such as Binance, KuCoin, Kraken, Huobi, OKX, and Coinbase, as marketplaces. What do I mean? Just as you do not leave your goods on the market after you have paid for them, you take them home with you. Consider your coins as the goods you bought at the marketplace. Your bitcoins should only be stored in cold storage wallets after purchase, and transferred out when you want to sell them. It takes less than 10 minutes. Remember, if you don't have the keys, it's not your coins.

This advice is seemingly one of the useful ones here in this forum. To be honest, I somehow feel guilty about this given that I have been in this forum for five (5) years now. Majority of my BTCs are inside my local exchange and the reason on why I do not transfer them to a hardware wallet is the convenience that the former provides in converting my BTCs to cash whenever I need it.

I guess that maybe, this is the sign that I have been looking for. Newbies, follow this advice and avoid the problems that most have already encountered. If you have invested a hefty amount of BTCs (bought them at exchanges), then move it as soon as possible to a hardware wallet.
1431  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter Crypto head and staff resigns on: November 21, 2022, 11:07:06 PM
Official link

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/twitter-crypto-head-staff-resign-190633380.html

It is well known fact that a lot of Twitter employees are leaving the company. Now the news that Tess Rinearson, who was made the head of Twitter crypto team has made a tweet stating that he is leaving the company. Many other people in the crypt unit of Twitter space also followed her and announced that they will also be leaving the company. What impact do you think this will have on crypto space in general ? I am sure they must be working on crypto inclusion on the platform in some way and now when they have left the decisions will be delayed in this matter.

This is a prime example on how Elon Musk can screw over something that has been working on the market- which is Twitter. He bought the company using his Tesla shares but he actually put the employees in a chaotic environment. He could have remained the workstaff as it is but when he slowly replaced the heads of the team, everything just went downhill from there.

Probably, Elon is planning something huge with this move. Since he owns Twitter, this would be his main platform to promote something in his business. In addition to that, any cryptocurrency he supports (e.g. doge, etc.) would definitely get the exposure and traction that he is planning to.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 21, 2022, 05:09:36 PM
It's one of those hot news, and you can find in almost all the Newspapers.

It looks like Qatar bribed eight Ecuadorian players for $7.4 millions to lose the wold cup opener. And this isn't weird to me, i mean if they already pay a shit ton of money to have the world cup in their country then we can expect from this world cup to be the most corrupt event in the Soccer history.

Some sources:
https://sportsbrief.com/football/28069-reports-qatar-bribed-ecuadorian-players-74-million-lose-opener/
https://www.marca.com/en/world-cup/2022/11/18/6376cfc7ca4741cc208b4573.html

Right now odds pays x3.26 if Qatar win, i know is a risky bet but i'm almost sure they will win. Will you place bets on this game after knowing about the bribe?

Wait, so if Qatar bribed players, should not they be held accountable for game fixing? Isn't this also a conclusive reason in order to prevent any hosting of world cup on their country as well? With this kind of shady tactics, who knows what they also engaged in the past or in the future with the money that they have.

This is just disgusting in all levels- bribing players to intentionally lose in a world cup opener. They are actually belittling the sport and making this a money-grab industry where you can actually buy people.
1433  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: November 21, 2022, 04:27:07 PM
After I started my Bitcoin holding journey a few months ago,
At that time, my close friend Sam! also have some capital he want to put away in cryptocurrency, and I advised him to buy Bitcoin instead of an altcoin. But instead of him to have a long-term potential mentality, he was looking for a quick profit so he filled up his portfolio with shitcoin, while I went in on a single portfolio of Bitcoin and when the unexpected of FTX hack happen the whole market in shamble and his altcoin portfolio have dropped above %800+ but my bitcoin holding still maintains some level of stability.

This gives me more confidence in Bitcoin and newbie who are looking for long-term holding should hold more bitcoin, in their private wallet to avoid exchange, but your knowledge to always have a good entry price.

Well, I will not entirely discount the possibility of earning a quick buck in altcoins but they are not that stable compared to investing into BTC. That is also the reason on why most people have tagged some altcoins as "shitcoin" due to the pump and dump scheme being employed by whales.

If you truly want to maximize your profits, then being SMART on investing in BTC is the way to go. Either you go short/long-term, as long as you profit, then better cash them out to avoid feeling the volatility of BTC!
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: November 21, 2022, 01:29:12 PM
There's a discussion here about a call to make it mandatory for gambling sites to show proof of money they are holding in reserves because of what happened on FTX.

Running a casino during crypto crash

 - Do you think The Gambling Industry Is Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market?
 - Will the industry lose the trust of gamblers if one or two casinos scammed their players by closing down and running with what
money they have that belongs to the gamblers?
  - As a gambler do you use gambling sites to store your coins like what traders are doing on exchanges?
  - What would gamblers think if a casino does not agree to show proof of money from new and old casinos

On the first question, gambling establishments are somehow part of the domino effect on what happens in the market. Given the amount of resources that are being used daily by gamblers in online gambling websites, a crash thereof would result to a serious effect on the market.

On the second question, the industry would definitely lose their players as soon as they are involved in a scam. Like what I previously mentioned, online gambling companies have to develop and establish a trust with its players. Once they break such trust, words will spread out and they will definitely lose their entire population with this issue. Again, it takes years to build a reputation and only a matter of minutes to destroy it.

On the third question, no I do nor use any gambling websites to store my coins. Since there had been issues about storing your coins in an online wallet, they are prone to scams which can be potentially risky on my end; and

On the fourth question, I guess it does not matter as much before but it would definitely matter now. Given that there had been ongoing scams about proof of money to gambling websites, players would be more careful this time and they would choose a website that would lay all the cards possible to avoid the risk of them losing their money in the process.
1435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching my nephew about Bitcoin on: November 21, 2022, 11:43:36 AM
Kudos to you OP for teaching and starting them young! Though one recommendation is that you should explain BTC like you are explaining it to a five-year old. Instead of stating complex and technical concepts, simplify it to the best of your ability so that they would easily digest and understand it.

I also tried explaining BTC to my peers but they seem to quickly dismiss the idea, saying that such was too complicated for them to understand. I guess another recommendation OP is to show actual pictures and associate it with more-common things for easier understanding.

Nonetheless, I applaud your patience and commitment to your project! Good luck, OP!
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is fiat to Bitcoin? on: November 21, 2022, 10:46:39 AM
Lately, I've seen so many bitcoin holders speak so badly of fiat and how much they wouldn't want to associate themselves with fiat usage if possible, but I took some time to make a little research and from my research, I do observed that Bitcoin usage wouldn't be an easy one without fiat not even in countries where Bitcoin is legalized and my question is,
can Bitcoin be easily used and spent without Fiat?
My answer is No

What's your opinion?
Let's discuss

Hmm interesting question but one thing that you should understand is that the value of BTC is mostly depending on several factors, all of which are considered to be converted back to fiat. With regard to transacting BTC without having to spent using fiat, I think it is possible but it will be similar to a barter system, where you trade goods-to-goods.

There are some services which offer BTC or cryptocurrencies as their primary source of payment method. There are also some products which offer BTC as an alternative method of payments also. But the association of BTC and fiat will always matter, as they can co-exist with each other.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 20, 2022, 11:17:43 PM
Is it possible to stick with free spins on online casinos and still be able to make some good reward?

I am looking into the free side of things, no risk at all with free spins but the question is has anyone ever make something out of free spins before? Something reasonable at?

The last time I earned something free from gambling websites was when BTC has very low value and many faucets still run, that's couple of years back.

Yes, it is still possible to win in free spins but expect that the prize pool is relatively low when you win.

As the title suggests, it is indeed "free" and it would be absolutely absurd for the online gambling website to give the player a chance to win a jackpot using these free spins. Again, these are all tactics employed in order to attract more players into their website by offering various freebies and free rolls. It can be somehow deceiving but a free spin is still a free spin. Even if the chances of winning is low, as long as the chance exist then claim it.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambling addict? on: November 20, 2022, 05:59:50 PM
Everyone likes to go to a casino here and then. But unfortunately, there are those who cannot visit a casino simply for pure leisure. Gambling can turn from a hobby or a leisure activity into a serious addiction problem. Many compare the rush of gambling to the euphory of cocaine, as it can also become an addition.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.

There was a time where I allocated my monthly funds in order to satisfy my gambling cravings in a certain online game. While it is not considered as a traditional gambling game (e.g. slots, cards, etc.), there was still that element of risk where a certain percentage is needed in order to win the top prize.

Maybe the problem of online gambling being associated with some online games is the exclusivity of the rewards. For example, a 1% of getting a certain rare item in-game would entail a person to spend more in order to get that specific item. I guess if you consider this as "gambling", then you may call me a gambling addict as I very much prefer to spend money in online games.

1440  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What have Bitcoin or crypto change in your life? on: November 15, 2022, 11:49:35 PM
Bitcoin has helped me to become financially free as it gave me the right to control my finance and the knowledge I gain from Bitcoin and this forum, in general, have helped me to make better decisions and also become a better analyst when it comes to investment.
I may have not spent years in Bitcoin but the little time I have spent here has helped to improve my mental capacity and build good investment knowledge in me.

Bitcoin has introduced me the convenience of working online and at the same time earning precious BTCs for my investment.

I remember I started my journey way back in 2017 as a fresh college student. I did not know much about the fundamentals and use of cryptocurrencies and I just somehow learned it along the way. When I first received my BTC from a campaign signature, I remember the feeling of joy and satisfaction that I was able to earn my own money through the use of my knowledge.

Currently, I am now in law school and the proceeds that I get weekly from my campaign signature are primarily used to buy materials for me and for my younger brothers. I still save at least a partial amount of what I earn for investment but majority of it goes to fund my education and my brothers' needs.
