1441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: November 15, 2022, 11:39:09 PM
There is still no 100% evidence that Niemann actually cheated. It may not be necessary to get caught in the red, but the accusation based on computer analysis alone is not watertight enough. People also have to wonder how it could be possible that he cheated? A video shows that an arbitrator scans metal detector Niemann with one hand, and that nothing was found. That means 100% that he had no electronics with him at the time this happened. How could he have cheated? Online cheating may have happened since you don't work with metal detectors there.

Who knows how exactly he cheated, but I think everyone is somewhat aware it happened.  Anyone who's seen the movie Godfather knows that he probably excused himself to the bathroom where there was obviously a string of anal beads that he inserted into himself...  At least that's what my limited knowledge of the situation and instant judgement leads me to.  I would think if the rumors or allegations weren't true, we'd be hearing from the man himself that they aren't true.  Maybe it's just the media sensationalizing everything and I took it hook line and sinker, but I'm sure I would've seen some sort of honest denial of the event if it happened (the denial).  If it isn't true, someone had one hell of an imagination to come up with this.

To be honest, the issue somehow "died down" a little especially that there are lots of tournaments happening. I am very curious to see as to the case of Niemann when he filed a defamation suit demanding for $100 million dollars for damages in his reputation. Though I am heavily inclined into thinking that the suit would not prosper, I am still looking forward to see the evidence on the camp of Magnus against all the allegations that he did.

With all the evidence that chess.com released (list of cheaters), I think that Niemann would definitely suffer and get the shorter end of the stick. I guess he really had to pay for the consequences of his actions.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Black Friday Online Casino Bonuses 2022 on: November 15, 2022, 11:27:59 PM
It's that time of the year where business get ready to do the Black Friday deals with their product and services. Online casinos are not left out too. on Friday, Nov 26th, which is Black Friday, most casinos will offer he match bonuses, some signup bonuses, free chips, and of course free spins. So if you happen to be someone who wants to get the most value for your deposits and wagers, the 26th of November could be the day that you’ve been waiting for. Suppose your favorite online casinos don't offer any Black Friday bonuses, would you try other casinos that do or stay loyal to them?

I would definitely consider trying out a different casino for the purpose of taking advantage of the bonuses offered by Black Friday.

Given that Black Friday only happens once a year, it is considered one of those events where discounted prices of all products are being offered. Along with this promotion, gambling websites would definitely offer cash-out bonuses, rewards for referrals, etc. in celebration of this event. Assuming that my go-to casino does not have any offers, I would be somehow compelled to check other casinos if they have any offers.

Though that may be the case, I would also reconsider my decision if the gambling website would be stringent in asking for KYC documents. I think I am more comfortable sharing my KYC into just one gambling website.
1443  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: November 15, 2022, 11:14:15 PM
How long do you think it will take for paper money to be phased out for good? Will CBDCs be able to replace not only paper money but also credit/debit cards? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Personally, I doubt that we will see the end of paper money until the far future due to the convenience of having it. In addition, with tons of paper money being circulated around the globe, its sudden implementation would definitely cause a chaotic turmoil against all countries.

Remember that the elimination of paper money would only benefit the rich and cause more weakness to the poor. Access to basic technology of any kind of digital money is limited to developing and developed countries in which underdeveloped countries still suffer as to this day. If the world implements this kind of transaction, this would heavily prejudice the latter to the point that they were not be able to adapt quickly.

I guess that the coexistence of paper money (fiat) and digital currencies would be main trend in the future.
1444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never depend on cryptocurrency as your only source of income. on: November 15, 2022, 08:51:19 PM
Never think of using cryptocurrencies as your only source of income; always have Alternatives for it, if really you don't want to endup in nothing. See what happens to my friends for making crypto as their only source of income.

Always remember that Rabbits are always having 3 holes in the Bush to escape Incase you blow smoke for him to suffocate him and make him Run out...

Interesting story, OP. But yea, relying cryptocurrency trading as your main source of income is like a disaster waiting to happen. If you put all your eggs in one basket, then expect at least to fail at one point due to the nature of risks and danger present.

I know a few people who trade stocks as their substitute repertoire on their source of income. I also have a few friends who do cryptocurrency trading as a sideline to their main job. Bottomline is that, cryptocurrencies are potentially profitable in the future if you invest in long-term. But if you rely on it as your main source of income, then expect to lose at some point due to the risks involved.
1445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won 9600$ in dice by mistake on: November 15, 2022, 03:58:07 PM
- You are lucky that the casino platform allowed you to withdraw such a large amount without requiring any KYC from you. Because often the complaint of gamblers who make a topic here in the forum is that their accounts are locked without any opposition, but it's the opposite of you.

That's quite a large amount, to be honest. It's rare among gamblers to take home such a win that apart from the huge amount, no KYC has been requested from the winning gambler himself.

This is interesting- so the gambling website allowed you to deposit/withdraw that amount of money without providing any KYC? This is somehow rare but anyways, congratulations for winning OP! You are indeed living the spirit of gambling where the odds were in your favour!

Since you won that amount of money, please do consider on how you would spend it. Others may suggest that you should gamble it again; but I think you should focus more on spending it on matters that are essential; though you have full discretion on where to spend it.

It is just rare that a gambling website allowed you to withdraw your funds with no hassle and problems at all!
1446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bought 8000 lottery tickets on: November 15, 2022, 11:32:46 AM
Costs only 0.1 $ ticket
8000 ticketsc for 800$

What my odda to get 6 numbers?

https://ibb.co/kcJMM2b

This is interesting OP, but I guess you have that much money to spare. I mean, $800 is still a lot even if you purchased 8000 tickets. Remember that even if you buy lots and lots of tickets, the odds are still against you given that the chances of you winning is still significantly low.

Though if you really have the funds, then I guess the adrenaline and entertainment is worthwhile but again, $800 is a lot of money to consider. If your goal is to win the lottery, then the most recommended method that I advise you is to bet normally.
1447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin really the future of money? on: November 15, 2022, 10:53:44 AM
The dip is bringing doubt, for many people like us who believe that bitcoins are the future of money. If money has a value storage function from monetary economics
Quote
Storage of value is one of the three generally accepted functions of money,
and bitcoins with how their value can just suddenly drop, can we still defend them as the future of money?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Store_of_value

Maybe we can say that BTC can be the future of money, but what is important to note is the technology behind BTC- which is the blockchain technology.

While BTC may or may not be the future of money due to several circumstances affecting its price, the introduction of the blockchain technology is the future of transactions where every data is stored and tracked in a public ledger. It just so happened that BTC is the main currency being used as the instrument behind the blockchain technology.

Though BTC prices are inflationary, we can still consider them as money in terms of investment. Again, BTC can definitely coexist with fiat and be a complement with each other.
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Reduce Gambling Related Issues Like Suicide etc? on: November 14, 2022, 11:57:12 PM
there had been lots of prevention, google banning gambling related ads must be one of the effort. the popularity and the gambling business is just too lucrative that even on teens, gambling becomes very usual.

Steam gambling for instance, there are already CSGO skin casinos where the teens playing. winning cheeky CSGO skins lured them to gambling. the Valve   knew about teens gambling but because they profit from it, they don't warn the gamers.

Just to add on what you have mentioned, while there may be a prohibition of ads that has been happening especially on large streaming websites such as Twitch, proactive steps must be taken in order to fully support a person who is deeply addicted to gambling. This kind of support is outside the scope of online- help should come from their family members and peers in order to prevent any suicide-related deaths due to gambling addiction.

A person who is addicted to gambling should at least be open to their family members; and the latter should be more understanding about their situation. Just like any other addiction, continuous help and support are needed in order to overcome this problem.
1449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: recommendation for gambling platform on: November 14, 2022, 11:43:56 PM
Hi guys currently I'm looking for a site to play using crypto since I've stocked up quite a bit any recommendations?

While some have mentioned their respective recommendations, allow me to say some general guidelines that will help you in choosing in the future.

The first step is to make sure they have an existing ANN Thread in this forum. This will help you not only see some feedback but also to secure a decent communication with them. The second step is to check the overall feedback about the website. Third and final step is to also check if there are games that you are willing to play since a gambling website has their unique style which catches the attention of people.
1450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not Quitting only a break on: November 14, 2022, 05:09:21 PM
Gambling is a habit so difficult to stop

Through out my days as a  GAMBLER  I have seen and had  so many people who for some reason have decided in their mind that they want to stop Gambling but in the latter of things said I eventually  see them again  involving themselves in gambling acts.

So many people actually tell themselves lies and intend to keep going on with those lies and continue saying this popular quote "this time no more I have quit"

Except for  people that take the act of gambling for fun who are really not affected by gambling so many people have uttered these particular quote noted above

It has come to my notice that these people don't actually know what to do. instead of saying that they have quit they should know that they are actually  going on a gambling break..

Like any other habits, they are definitely difficult to stop especially if you are somehow deep behind it. One of the ways in order to at least control your gambling addiction is by taking steps proactively (e.g. bring only a handful amount of cash when you visit a casino, explore different options and methods of entertainment, etc.).

Though there may be people who do gambling for fun, they actually are addicted also but not to a certain extent that they rely their livelihood for it. If you have problems in overcoming your addiction, seek help not only from your family but also from your peers who can refer to you some support.

1451  Economy / Economics / Re: Has the popularity of bitcoins reduced interest of people in stocks? on: November 14, 2022, 04:15:06 PM
Stocks give like 20-30% returns in an year but bitcoin and other crypto coins can give this much return in just one day. At such, do you think that increasing popularity of bitcoin has reduced interest of people in stocks.

I think in some countries, people are really shifting to crypto only and most of their investment portfolio is in the form of crypto instead of stocks. The awareness related to crypto is increasing day by day and this more people are getting included in this crowd. Stocks on the other hand become saturated, people have realized that these stocks are not as much profitable as bitcoins. Also, there are other benefits of bitcoins like it can be used for transactions. This cannot be done with stocks.

I do think that it is the other way around.

The popularity of BTC has skyrocketed over the years given the returns that some have experienced. While stocks is heavily regulated and the trading session only applies to a specific time frame within the day, cryptocurrency reputation is steadily increasing, though regulation has becoming more stringent over the years.

Though I am curious as to the returns of stocks that you mentioned- I think it varies in a case-to-case basis as 20-30% returns is significantly huge in stocks.
1452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Quality Post? on: November 13, 2022, 11:29:40 PM
Post that answers a question:
It starts with this how to determine a quality post.  No matter how it's lengthy it is as long as it answered questions.
But usually here that has a signature campaign that follows the required length of the post.

That's good input and nothing else to add but one thing that I suggest is that surely you'll have a quality post.  Never interact with a topic that you don't know because it creates a nonsense reply or it's off-topic.

This actually sums everything up- a post that answers a question, provides some insight, shares some knowledge are one of those qualities and factors of a quality post. This seemingly and relatively easy task is what most newbies (and even some veterans) take in consideration. Most of the time, whenever they see the title of the thread, they non-stop comment without even reading the discussion of OP or even some replies.

By answering the question, this will definitely get you in the mood of creating a quality post all throughout. If a newbie wants to increase the chances of gaining merits, then this simple yet forgetful advice would help them in their forum journey.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or wait till the end on: November 13, 2022, 11:14:34 PM
<..snip..>
So what would you would advise as a gambler? is it better to collect the cash out or wait for the full cash

If there is one thing I learned in gambling with all the years that I have played, it is to never get too greedy when you win. It also applies into investing where as soon as you saw and made some profit, always cash them out. The more time you placed your winnings/profits in the hands of the online gambling company, the higher the chances that you would use and bet them to play another round, like what happened to you OP.

I get it- it is very tempting to try and use the profit to bet again. But remember that the chances of you winning is very slim to the point that you would probably lose more than win more. That is why, as soon as you experience profit, better cash them out and avoid waiting until the end.
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinion on casinos that don't have ANN threads in the forum? on: November 13, 2022, 06:20:04 PM
Hey guys! Lately I have noticed a trend on one or two occasions and I am curious to ask for your opinion on this particular issue of casinos that do not have an ANN thread in this forum, where discussion on the progress and development of the casinos and also serve as a feedback mechanism to handle issues resulting from members' activities on their site.
I don't know if this topic has been discussed before, if it has, please point me to the thread where the topic has been discussed otherwise please leave your views here in the comment section.
Some of those casinos already hard a running signature campaigns in the forum but yet doesn't have an active ANN thread or a representative in the forum, so how do players deal with issues from the site, should we contact the campaign managers each time there is a problem from those casinos?

Thank you for raising this question- well, online casinos that do not have an ANN thread in this forum can be relatively tricky.

Remember that one of the ways that an online casino can establish their names on the market is by creating and developing trust among its users. This implies that a stable and convenient way of reaching their customer support, in cases of technical difficulties/problems, is the key in order to create their reputation. Of course, lack of an ANN in this forum does not totally mean that such casino can obtain this trust, but it can be relatively difficult.

Again, the more connection and communication that you can have with an online casino representative the better!
1455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investment in bitcoin should be short term or long term. on: November 13, 2022, 05:45:21 PM
i am a newbie in bitcoin, and i plan to buy bitcoin,, and will invest in bitcoin, and i want to ask everyone? if investing in bitcoin is it better short term or long term??? but in my opinion, long-term investment is better, but what do you think?

This depends and this kind of principle should be applied in all kinds of investments.

Be wary that investing into cryptocurrencies are risks that must be controlled and taken advantage off. Given that they are volatile in nature, you can either accumulate tons of profit short/long-term depending on the market price. But if there is one thing that must be taken into consideration, you should definitely consider short-term investment or as soon as you see your initial investment profit. If there is one thing that I learned from BTC, that is to never be greedy!
1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Early Is It Now, For Those Who Missed Bitcoin In Its Early Days? on: November 13, 2022, 03:11:35 PM
As others have already mentioned, it's no use dwelling on the past. We don't know what the future holds for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. However, I honestly believe that the early days of Bitcoin are over. Before you jump to conclusions, my point is that you can no longer obtain a large amount of Bitcoin with, say, $200–300. Even back in 2013–2016, you could acquire a decent amount of Bitcoin for $200. Nowadays, with such an amount of money, you'd get a tiny portion of BTC. Even if the price multiplies by x10, you'd still have $2000.

My point is that, compared to the earliest stages of Bitcoin, we don't have the same opportunities. $1000 back then could potentially make you a millionaire, providing that you held till the last few years. Now however, the same amount of money hardly makes you millionaire, no matter what.

You are definitely right- like what I also mentioned to similar posts like these, the best time to invest in BTC is the time you discovered it!

While majority of us missed the golden opportunity of investing into BTC in its early and glory days, all hope is not lost since the opportunity that we have is we know about its existence. The rule is that we must at least invest now and save it for long-term. To be honest, the present days are the days that we will look back 5-10 years in the future- that is why, consider it as a blessing once you discover the existence of BTC and invest at least some savings on it!
1457  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: November 12, 2022, 11:44:21 PM
Data do not lie. If these companies do not want to keep losing this battle they have to start caring about their employees. They have to treat their employees great. In this day and age companies need to start to try to be human and actually care about what their employees care about or at least putting it on the same pedestal with the degree at which the company cares about making profit. We need new generational leaders who are high on emotional intelligence.

What do you think? Are companies losing the battle for long term employee retention?

Personally, I think the reason for the high-turnover rate of some companies is due to the management not adapting to the "new normal" which COVID introduced. When the pandemic hit, this was a realization to most employees that they could actually function and work better while not physically attending on their desk and office jobs. Some companies, despite this realization, still chose to prefer the conventional way of operating their jobs which ultimately led to people quitting.

But if there is one thing that I have noticed with this generation, it is that most GenZ and millenials somehow job hop from one company to another, looking for the place which offers the highest profit. While this kind of strategy works most of the time, this damages their reputation in the long-term.
1458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 12, 2022, 11:35:33 PM
Are you such gambler ?
Who are these people you hide your gambling activities from ?
Give a reason why you don't want them to know you are a gambler.

Nope, I am not a gambler perse but occasionally, I would try and test out my luck to see if I would win tonight's game or chance. The reason perhaps on why you do not want anyone or your family members to know that you gamble is due to your frequency of playing the game.

If you are someone who occasionally gambles and playing for fun, most likely, you will not be as shy as you mentioned. But one factor on why you would like to keep it a secret is to avoid influencing the younger generation in the family on why you gamble. This might fuel their curiosity, thereby influencing others in this very dangerous activity.
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copying Bet From Other Unknown Bettors, Is This a Good Practice? on: November 12, 2022, 11:19:46 PM
This really depends on your knowledge on the game itself- remember that some bettors have a specific amount for betting.

Are you familiar with the martingale strategy? You might copy the betting system of a person not knowing that he bets double whenever he losses a round and this might interfere with your strategy or fund management. Like what most have mentioned, it is still recommended if you develop your own strategy especially if you are not familiar with a current game.
