1121  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: [ANN] Armory 0.93.1 Official Release on: April 22, 2016, 07:18:20 PM
Recovering your Armory backup gets all of your coins back. Maybe you had coins on two different wallets? If you want you can dump all private keys, but that will take too much time and do pretty much the same thing...

BTW, this version of Armory can be considered obsolete. Next time create a new thread Smiley
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I never thought that i would like someone in the European Parliament but... on: April 22, 2016, 07:08:12 PM
This is really great, but I wonder if anyone else got the message... They were probably all sleeping. I doubt he will be fired or replaced, but I don't think the EU Parliament is really keen on having anything to do with Bitcoin at the moment (judging by the lack of regulamentation... which is good Smiley)
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do expedia still accept bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 10:15:14 AM
I'm in the UK. It could be something to do with it saying "£0.00 due now. Payment information is only needed to hold your reservation." What you reckon?

I'm guessing here, but maybe payments on that hotel are made only when you arrive there and not online (thus, you have 0 to pay and they say they only need your data)
1124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do expedia still accept bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 10:14:06 AM
I'm also seeing it. Maybe you can't book some hotels with Bitcoin? Send a message to their support and ask...
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At no time does Valve receive or hold bitcoin, pay us in traditional currency on: April 22, 2016, 10:01:29 AM
This has been pretty much everywhere on the internet... I hope it's true Smiley They've been having bitcoin payment requests for quite some time and I'd definitely buy more on their store if they start accepting Bitcoin! And another plus for us, a huge merchant accepting out favorite currency!
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MIT ChainAnchor - Bribing Miners to Regulate Bitcoin on: April 20, 2016, 08:54:42 PM
If this is true than we just have to nuke this out of the solar system. What the hell is wrong with MIT? Just build your own blockchain and good luck.

Create an opt-in registration system that allows participating users to register their wallet addresses (pubkeys) with their real-world identity

I seriously don't know who would fall for this to begin with.

1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #BitcoinSurvey 2016 seeking participants - 1.25 bitcoin in rewards on: April 20, 2016, 03:06:55 PM
Answered Smiley Your surveys are always nice and really comprehensive. Good luck everyone for the rewards Cheesy
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SECURITY, Have you been a victim? How safe are your bitcoins? on: April 18, 2016, 11:02:23 AM
There are many points of failure in protecting Bitcoins, even for skilled and knowledgeable people. Many things can go wrong in setting up cold storage or printing paper wallets... Or even backing up your wallet.

You can have malicious binaries, you can have a malicious OS install, you can have the OS access the internet prior to wallet creation and have it somehow hacked, you can have a broken RNG, you can install broken code or with bugs, you can have your printer exploited, you can insert and exploited USB drive in your machine, you can insert an SD card into a laptop reader thinking it is not connected via USB internally... The list is pretty much endless.

You can take many measures of security: verifying binary hashes, using very well audited code, use dummy printers, have your computer always offline, etc, but you never know if you are truly ready for a strong attack or an undiscovered bug Smiley This is my view on it. Meanwhile, I employ all I know in protecting my coins. Cold storage is definitely the safest method (for me).
1129  Other / Meta / Re: i need help from a moderator or hero member on: April 17, 2016, 11:09:21 PM
If you believe you were scammed, you should make a thread about it on Scam Accusations.
1130  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Where is the BTC address in Bread Wallet on: April 17, 2016, 02:01:05 PM
Swipe to the screen on the right and you'll find it. There's a thread for breadwallet on the forums.
1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money laundering crackdown, can bitcoin fill gap? on: April 15, 2016, 07:05:03 PM
If law enforcement believes money is being used for illegalities they are entitled to do whatever they find useful to find criminals and/or end crimes. As for casinos, it's a time for them to adapt and serve their legit customers better... Nice time to switch to Bitcoin Smiley
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is how Mark Karpeles is going to watch the BTC halving show on: April 15, 2016, 06:55:15 PM
Hope he has fun watching the halving behind bars, with frozen funds. He could have been a big name in Bitcoin (for the right reasons), but as far as we've seen from the info being released, he literally chose not to.
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A long time ago... on: April 14, 2016, 07:21:52 PM
Figure that out, and you'll be the next richest guy in the world.

Write your own suggestion on how to improve this and present it to the devs. This is an issues that needs no fixing: Bitcoin is designed to work this way. Could it improve in being user friendly? Maybe. I don't have better suggestions. If you feel so strongly about this, you must have a way to replace the system currently in practice for something better and more user friendly.
1134  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [2016-04-14] Shapeshift Update: Security Breach Could be an Inside Job on: April 14, 2016, 12:57:59 PM
I guess it was very convenient at this time to announce this as an inside job. They had to say something at least, and this is what makes them look better. I hope it is true though, they own the truth to their customers... Still curious on how this will end up.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Billboard Trolls Trump's Wall! on: April 13, 2016, 04:31:19 PM
If this is real... Hahaha, very well played Cheesy
1136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fasten your seatbelts: now it begins... on: April 12, 2016, 12:44:14 PM
The usual advice... Buy now while it's cheap Smiley
1137  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are Bitcoiners dumber / greedier than ordinary people? on: April 11, 2016, 04:58:57 PM
What is there to explain? People want to get Bitcoins... This does not mean anyone's greedy neither that people who use Bitcoin are more greedy than people who use exclusively fiat.

Bitcoin represents many things fiat does not. But neither represent greed in its essence, not even fiat
1138  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Samourai Wallet mobile app, HD wallet, stealth, remote delete on: April 11, 2016, 10:45:44 AM
Never heard of this wallet, but after knightdk's post... Really do not want to try it. If they go open source and stop relying on blockchain.info, I'll think about giving it a shot.
1139  Other / Meta / Re: What is the future of Bitcointalk?? on: April 11, 2016, 10:26:43 AM
Bitcointalk is a forum, not a workplace. All moderators and staff are volunteers. The future of bitcointalk is the new forum, which is being built with brand new software.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know i know how a bitcoin looks like on: April 10, 2016, 06:19:44 PM
Woah... Now this is really something different. Pretty interesting Smiley
