You can imagine what kind of fantasies I had about Spurs in Champions League until we met you guys, and you can imagine how much I am fantasising now that Arsenal and Chelsea will continue to lose,,, while Son scores a hattrick to overtake Salah total and win golden boot on last day.
One goal in it. Very possible, considering the form that Salah has been in recent, and by that I don't mean he's playing bad, just not scoring as much. Still getting those assists in. Honestly, this is why I think Son has been criminally underrated for most of his career. Dare I say it, if he was at another club, he might get recognised a lot more for the quality player that he is. I'd have him in a heartbeat.

Son is even more impressing in this golden boot situation, since Salah has scored a couple of his goals from penalties, which I don't think Son takes pens right? It would be Kane? I know Ronaldo has also been doing pretty well, considering the team he is playing in.

You can have a rest till UFC 275 that will be on June 11 (two title fights). Events before that, I call them as fillers. There will be some good matches, but whole events wont be worth watching from begging till end.
I don't usually like missing events, I pretty much watch them all. I've just got other plans, otherwise I would have been watching it. Won't be missing the following weeks, however I'm definitely looking forward to June 11, and will be putting some money aside to put some cheeky little bets on.

I think you will still have to suffer and watch Conor in Proper twelve ads, but the amount of him will be lower imho. About the taste - I have tried it and I would say it does not worth asked price. At my place, a bottle of Proper twelve cost 35+ Euro. For that price, you can get a better 12 y.o single malt whiskey. Like basic Glenmorangie or Glenfiddich. But to pay for a blend that cost as a single malt, that is an absurd.

P.S. Jack Daniels cost 24-26 Euro for 0.7l. Often there are discounts, and you can get it for 20 Euro.
I only ever drink Jack on a pinch really. I'm more a fan of Woodford reserve, Jura, and some Glenfiddich. Also, Lagavulin has my once a year bottle. There's a few others, but those are the ones I tend to go to. I might try Proper 12 despite the claims.

Yeah, Jack is good if you tend to drink with the UFC events since it's pretty cheap. I didn't realise Proper 12 was that expensive though.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we all buy a Bitcoin Pizza? on: May 13, 2022, 11:42:40 AM
In my opinion, there are two main reasons why the average owner of Bitcoin does not decide to use it as a currency. The first is that most Bitcoin investors are only interested in profit, for them Bitcoin is the same as investing in gold or stocks. Another reason is that most people think that the fees for sending BTC are too expensive since crypto exchanges charge them very expensive fees, which they think are blockchain fees.
My perspective is a lot of us using fiat will forever be chasing the better life, due to rising costs, and inflation. Basically, by using fiat you're accepting you'll forever be in the rat race, up until you retire, and what you've worked your entire life for, is worth jack all in retirement due to the inflation.

Bitcoin, gives you the opportunity that I believe other investments don't, mainly because I actually believe in the fundamentals. For example, the freedom, not relying on a third party, and the fact that you can't just keep pumping Bitcoin into circulation, means it should actually counter inflation. So, obviously we're all in it for profit, but it doesn't mean when it comes to using it, I'll be converting to fiat, I'll be using it to better my life.
1724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: May 13, 2022, 10:40:16 AM
I personally don’t think that Klopp will prioritise winning the FA CUP, and I’m sure that he’ll be fielding a weaker team to make sure that none of his star player’s are injured before the champions league finals match, as he’s fielded a weak team before too in this competition. Also at this stage it’s fair to say that the race for premier league title is all but over, and with their eyes fixed on winning the champions league I don’t expect them to win this FA Cup finals match.
While that has been true, this is a final, and technically the quadruple could still very well be on. So, I think he goes for it. Unfortunately, Fabinho picked a injury up in the midweek game, which rules him out for this tie. So, he won't be featuring. If I had to go out on a limb I'd say Alison, Trent, Konate, Virgil, Robertson, Henderson, Thiago, Diaz, Mane, Salah, Keita, and then we might actually be looking at a Curtis Jones appearance.

I don't think originally the intention was to play Jones for this game, but with the injury to Fabinho the midfiled has to be shaken up a little bit. Also, Tsimikas played midweek which probably indicates Robertson will be playing on the weekend. I think that's a good enough team to win on the day, the reason I went with Konate instead of Matip is due to his pace, but Klopp might go with Matip. I think Matip in the Champions league final will probably make more sense, and we've got to try manage his fitness, as he is known to be a bit injury prone.

I'll be going for a 2-0 victory. I find Chelsea can be a bit starved for goals, and they lack that creativity, and cutting edge, although I was impressed with how Lukaku took his goal the other day.
1725  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Quote/Keyword/Reply/Topic Notifier on: May 13, 2022, 10:29:03 AM
>The bot will now scrap recent pages after ever 20 seconds compared to 2 seconds in previous version, to eliminate any bot like behavior and reduce unnecessary load on bitcointalk server.
I think reducing that even further by default probably wouldn't be an issue. Not many users here need to be notified that quickly. You could probably ramp it up to two minutes, five minutes or even ten minutes. For example, when I go on expeditions, and use a satellite communicator, that has the option for two minutes, ten minutes, and 30 minutes, and I usually stick it on the ten minute one as it doesn't kill the battery too quickly, and is still decent enough. I know this is slightly different, but how many times does someone reply to your thread or post within a minute? Probably not often.

Also, while this might have worked for a while now, changing the time to wait would likely help future proof it, if theymos ever decides to change the request rate limit, since to me twenty seconds is quite quick, and doesn't give you much leeway. Although, is definitely an improvement over the two second limit.
1726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phones on mobile wallet becoming riskier on: May 13, 2022, 10:19:37 AM
Classic sensationalist headline, DdmrDdmr is spot on in my opinion. The thing is phones, especially online phones have never been a good idea, at least for storing a significant amount of Bitcoin. However, I can see their uses for small amounts. Android has a good permission system, the locking system on it is decent, depending on the options you choose i.e don't use a pin or fingerprint, use a password. The problem with phones is people are more inclined to download apps which they haven't verified or know they can trust, and also connect to networks which they don't trust. Otherwise, they are pretty decent apart from a few issues.

The fact is, even if you do have a Bitcoin wallet on your phone, it should still be encrypted, and should lock after exiting the app even if it has been kept in memory or the open apps drawer, and you should be able to hide the icon. Android, at least custom ROMS usually have this option.
1727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Coping Strategy for Bitcoin Price Crash on: May 13, 2022, 10:13:14 AM
My best advice is if you're in Bitcoin for the long term, you don't need to know the price in the short term. I've gone months, potentially even a year plus of not checking the price before, and while I don't particularly get emotionally attached to the current price anyway, I just did it because I didn't need to check it, there wasn't any point. I only get the price now from the forum, and users talking about it. I think a lot of users here would find it as a good coping strategy. Have a sit down, ask yourself why you're invested in Bitcoin. If you're invested in the long term, and you believe in the fundamentals of Bitcoin. Then, I personally think you have nothing to worry about, and checking the price is just a unhealthy obsession at this point. Check it closer to when you want to use it for something.

Obviously, this advice could mean you miss out on the upward swings too, but trust me if Bitcoin dives like it has or smashes up in price, you'll know about it through this forum. However, at that point you don't need to keep checking the price every day or week. Usually, these dips, and rises take time to sort themselves out, and checking the price is just going to compound that doubt you might have in your mind.
1728  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: May 13, 2022, 09:59:41 AM
oh who is at the top of the top 10 . are they a source of merit?
Generally, yeah most in the top percentage will be merit sources, since they have additional merits to spend from their merit source. Unless, you're earning a lot of merit, it would be hard to compete against them. Although, I've also noticed that merit sources tend to get a lot of merit sent to them too, putting them well beyond a normal uses spending capability. It's pretty easy to determine who's a merit source by just looking at how much they realistically have to send, and whether they're hitting that limit or getting close to it. Usually, the generosity statistic is a good indicator of this, when tied in with the rest.
1729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we all buy a Bitcoin Pizza? on: May 13, 2022, 09:45:48 AM
also I think this is why maybe there will not be some new ATH for some time. Because for that there need to be new people into crypto and they will not come in a market situation like this. But they would maybe come to be able to pay for their coffee..
I think you're reading too much into the situation. Those that have the opportunity to spend Bitcoin in a physical shop, probably would. However, unless you live in a major city, those opportunities are far, and wide in between. Besides, we don't need to be spending them offline to reach a new all time high. We've got where we are because of how Bitcoin is designed. Bitcoin is being spent, you only need to look at a Blockchain explorer to figure that out, but a lot of people are now using Bitcoin as a reserve currency, which to be honest I don't see the problem.

The main benefits of Bitcoin to me are; decentralised, freedom to be your own bank i.e cut out the middlemen, and a finite limit which actually means Bitcoin is deflationary in the long term. That's the real reasons, not because I can or can't spend it offline. Offline transactions come with more adoption, we aren't quite there yet.
1730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t rush to buy Bitcoin on: May 13, 2022, 09:40:21 AM
However if you look at past bear cycles you are going to have a lot of time to make your purchase. Better buying 10% higher from the low than guessing and getting a massive 50% loss.
I like the overall message, since I do believe due diligence, and also patience should be exercised when it comes to investing in anything. However, just because it has happened before doesn't actually mean it'll happen again. History doesn't always repeat itself, as the saying goes. If you were to based all of your decisions on what has happened in the past, you'd probably be looking pretty silly. Obviously, at the moment Bitcoin has followed a somewhat 4 year cycle, however that doesn't mean that'll continue, and it will end at some point. That is almost a guarantee.
1731  Economy / Speculation / Re: $28,000 Bitcoin price. How explain falling price to worried newbies ? on: May 13, 2022, 09:36:57 AM
Its still up from two years ago, I mean even with the huge drop recently. If we look at it on a yearly basis, Bitcoin still has gained hugely. Tell me any other investment that does that.

Bitcoin fell to $28,000. It's price changes in short spaces it's bad for investors.
Not really. That's what makes it absolutely perfect for investors i.e those looking to make a quick buck, but don't plan on using Bitcoin for its intended purposes. If you're having big drops, and big rises that's the best investment someone could make looking to make a big difference to their wealth in a short period of time. It's only particulaly bad for those that are using Bitcoin as a currency. It shouldn't effect long term holders much either.
1732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 13, 2022, 09:33:42 AM
I'm probably going to miss this weekend due to other plans, so I won't be making any bets. I'll likely just include some of my predictions, and leave it at that. I don't tend to bet on the UFC unless I'm actually going to be able to watch it. Good looking event, but if you're going to miss any event, it'll probably be this one. So, not overly disappointed. Not sure if that's my first event missed of the year. I did fall asleep on one a few weeks back though.

P.S. Conor has sold his proper twelve shares, so he is no longer promoting whiskey. Instead, he has got a pub Cheesy
Does that mean I no longer have to watch that silly little walk he does on every single proper 12 advert? You know what, I still haven't tried it. I've been put off by a lot of people saying it tastes awful. Isn't it at a similar price point to ol' Jack?
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 13, 2022, 09:29:12 AM
The odds are certainly stacked against them but I hope City lose on Sunday to at least make the last round interesting.
Well, Aston Villa played decent against us, and we kind of struggled. They threatened on the attack, and I personally consider our defense better than Man City's. I think the one thing is City is in the kind of form now that they'll always manage to score at least one. They've just got that momentum, and Villa haven't got the best defense, although it isn't bad from what I saw the other day.

West Ham, who they play next definitely have a chance. The only issue with them is they're very inconsistent. One week they look like top 5 challengers, and then the next week they look like a team pushing for the top half of the table. So, if City can catch them on a good day, I have all the faith in the world they can get something from the game.

I'm going with a 2-1 victory to West Ham, just on faith alone.
1734  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [report]Rov V Wade overturned on: May 13, 2022, 01:18:36 AM
In my own perspective, apart from rape cases, ignorance, health issues and other situations that risks the life of the mother, every man or woman must learn how to take full responsibility for  their actions. If you don't want a baby then use pregnancy prevention medications or protections.
Aye, that's all well, and good. However, and this is where it becomes a little bit confusing, and there really in my opinion isn't a right answer, but what if you're using birth control, protection, but you don't want to permanently tie the tubes or cut the important parts? No contraception is 100% effective, meaning that there's a small chance you might fall pregnant, and while most contraception is effective in the >95% range, that 1-5% chance is actually very large when you consider the amount of people. According to this:
64.9% of the 72.2 million women aged 15–49 in the United States were currently using contraception.
that's a huge figure, and even if you take in 1% of that figure, that's like hundreds of thousands of potential unwanted pregnancies. That's huge, and those people were taking responsibility, and trying to avoid it.

While, I will definitely admit this is a rather moral grey area, I do tend to go along the lines of  what o_e_l_e_o was alluding too , and when the conscious specifically develops. I'm most definitely pro choice, up until that point. That amount of time, is usually enough for people to get an abortion without too many issues. However, the issue which a lot of people don't talk about (mainly because it's a horrible thought) is those stuck in abusive relationships, which might not be able to get an appointment to actually get it done before then, which I don't know the answer too, but it's an horrible thought that this very likely is happening.

You could argue that there's a way to up that protection even further by both partners using protection, and taking medication i.e the women takes birth control, and the man uses a condom. That would effectively bring that protection level up, however there will still be instances of unwanted pregnancy, despite taking that due diligence.

Unless, you're insisting that those that don't want children, commit to a period of celibacy, which could very well bring up its own problems. I'll leave that for another day, though.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 13, 2022, 01:04:49 AM
Two games left, and I still have a little hope for Liverpool, call me deluded Cheesy. Although, it looks like City will win, they have a tough two games ahead of them. I know they absolutely smashed Newcastle, but it makes you wonder with the injuries starting to rack up, and the fact that Kevin has been somewhat carrying them for a few games now.

Everton look to have survived the drop, and I don't know how I feel about it. Leeds looking the most likely to go down, which it was only a couple of weeks ago, that they looked home, and dry. That's the unpredictability of he league I guess.

I think we can now start looking at next season, and yeah I'll probably be joining, and actually properly participating, even if I have to set one day to guess the entire season results. Anyway, City strengthening with Haaland, probably means making predictions with them will be a lot easier, since I find that the lack of a striker has caused a few hiccups this season in terms of predicting the correct score. They should score a little more freely next season. Whereas, Liverpool haven't had any solid links with anyone yet, but we're going to need to look to improve, despite myself looking at the squad, and thinking we probably have world class players in every position, and if it wasn't for City, we would be running away with the league for years to come. I'm glad we have city for that reason though.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 13, 2022, 12:16:42 AM
I am not interested to watch any of his fight in future.
I am. If we vintage Conor back then it spices up the whole division. To be honest, his last fight with Poirier didn't look all that bad, and while he may have lost the round he still managed to buzz Poirier. The snapped ankle kind of takes away from it, as everyone just remembers the beat down at the end of the round.

However, I don't think Conor is washed up, and I do think he'll start finding some form. He just needs to get in that cage, and not go against one of the top three. I'd say top five is a push. He'll likely beat everyone outside of that, and then the fans will start getting on his side again.

The issue with Conor is his name brings a lot of weight, so previously he was able to get massive fights, without actually putting in much of the work, and not fighting enough to be in decent shape. You know what I mean? I think once he gets a few fights under his belt, removes that rustiness we've got a serious fighter on our hands again.

Plus, why wouldn't I want to see that. Conor is easily one of the most entertaining fighters when on form.
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we all buy a Bitcoin Pizza? on: May 12, 2022, 10:59:41 PM
The best place for Bitcoin purchases in the Netherlands is Arnhem: about a hundred shops accept it, some of them take Lightning too.
I'll be honest, I tend to hoard my Bitcoin as a reserve currency, tucking it away with hopefully the prospect of it beating the inflation that's imposed on fiat currencies, and then using it for big purchases, and just let fiat get me by for daily life. However, if I saw more physical shops accepting it, I think the inner nerd in me would be itching to just purchase random stuff, that I definitely don't need just because I don't see that over here. I've actually yet to see a shop that accepted Bitcoin, maybe because I'm not in the capital or any cities, and don't tend to go to them often either, but still haven't seen one, at least that I recall.
1738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 12, 2022, 10:55:49 PM
Tony Ferguson has become the gate keeper of the division and that is the only leverage he has right now.
Which to be honest, I'm quite alright with. I think he's a challenge for those looking to break into the top half of the division, and he'll likely go to war with quite a few up, and coming prospects. So, I'm all for it. I know there was a lot of people saying he's probably done, and I'll be honest I did consider it myself, but the thing that we didn't get chance to see is how much he has left in that ol' gas tank of his, because early doors he was really putting it to Chandler.

I think anyone looking to break into the top five, needs to go through an absolute war that only certain fighters like Tony can bring.
1739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AN INTERESTING WAY TO INTRODUCE BITCOIN LEARNING TO OUR FUTURE GENERATION on: May 11, 2022, 10:19:01 PM
which will increase its value over the time and will also help parents in inculcating the habit of managing good financial behavior and being financially independent at an early age.
We shouldn't be teaching this, because it isn't exactly true. We could teach that Bitcoin is deflationary by design, but that doesn't mean it'll keep increasing in value, since it depends on the demand for it. Although, I don't think that's something that children necessarily need to learn. There's far more important things for children to learn than money, they've got their entire lives to think, and learn about money. It would be more appropriate in my mind to teach them the very fundamentals, but don't go too much into depth, which to be honest fiat is better for that since it's less complex. When they become teenagers, that's when they can look at what inflation/deflation is, and all of that mumbo jumbo.
1740  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buying cheap second hand gaming machine risky ! (being dumped after Corona) on: May 11, 2022, 10:02:13 PM
Well, if you buy a SH computer, first thing is to re-partition the HDD/SSD to avoid surprises, ... right?
If you cannot do that yourself, you better buy from specialized shops that will do this for you.. of course, not for free.
Yeah, I usually go through it all, bin the hard drives usually, then update the bios firmware, pop in a new hard drive or SSD, and then install whatever operating system I want on it. Usually though, not many people are sophisticated enough to touch the bios side of things, but it's just for piece of mind on my end. Ultimately, a wipe/format should be sufficient for most people, either with dban or dd on Linux systems. Although, that usually requires connecting a USB to a possibly infected machine. So, either go the Qubes OS route, and isolate or use a Live CD of Ubuntu etc.

Although, most of the time much of that is overkill. Although, I do always recommend people listening to their inner threat model, and not compromise.
