I ended up cashing out, because I was worried about how the judges might score that Silva fight. I thought she won personally, and was the only one to threaten on the feet, as well as on the mat. However, you never really know with the judges do you. Wu did better than expected, but her great movement didn't really amount to anything except pretty much shadow boxing. If she can get in, and out she might actually do pretty well in the division. However, at the moment she's going to lose a lot just because most of her volume isn't really connecting the majority of the time.

I missed the main event, fell asleep. I felt like that card was moving quiet slowly towards the end. Not the best night of fights, and I'm starting to think that an illegal strike should always be a point deducted even if it was accidental. Plus, I don't think we should be stopping the fight, and basically rewarding the fighter who did the illegal strike. Not a fan of scoring fights up to that point, I know it prevents fighters milking it, but I don't know. Not a fan.
1902  Other / Meta / Re: Monthly Report Statistics on: April 17, 2022, 01:00:27 PM
There's nothing to see here, it's just that the amount of monthly reports coming in is much more than what the active mods can handle because most of the cases are handled manually, they're not bots I never expected them to handle all monthly reported cases, most of my last month reports were left unhandled I guess mod didn't pick it up
There are specific situations where leaving a report unhandled is actually the best course of action. Also, as suggested theymos releases this data at a certain point, if a user has reported a tonne of posts just before theymos collects his stats, then they're going to be unhandled. I'd say most of our reports get handled within a few hours, and the unhandled reports are probably much lower than this figure.

It really depends on when the reports were made, and when the cutoff for the reporting period was. For example, if someone happened t make many reports shortly before the reporting cutoff, it is possible that the mods simply had not yet had time to handle the reports.
Right, which is very likely the case here.

Nothing went wrong except for Pogba getting kicked in the face by Maguire lol. I swear that everytime this guy play, he always does something weird though. Really hate to say this but It was a close one in the end, Ronaldo saved the team against the worst team in EPL. How bad could United be if they are playing against any other top 5 teams with their current sorry state
We'll find out soon enough, since they're going to be playing Liverpool shortly. I'm thinking another dismantling is in store. I'm going to go a little more conservative, and say a 4-0, although arguably Manchester United haven't improved much from the last time we played them, but Liverpool certainly are at the top of their game right now, with some momentum behind them with the recent run we've had. Plus the extra motivation from the quadruple still being all to play for.
1904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 16, 2022, 07:28:58 PM
Impressed by Norwich, they kept on fighting. Obviously, it's not going to be enough to keep them up this season. I do think Everton might narrowly escape regelation just because the rest of the teams are also really struggling for points. Plus, while Everton's up, and coming fixtures look rather bleak for them, the rest of their competition at the bottom of the table also have some pretty dire fixture lists.

It'll be interesting now to see how Man City bounce back from their FA cup defeat today against Liverpool. They've had a tough week, a very difficult game in the champions league, then obviously drawing with us, and then finally getting knocked out of the FA cup, which was a fairly competitive game in the second half. They're going up against Brighton next, and dare I say it I see them dropping points. Think Brighton might just have enough to keep it 0-0.
1905  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Turn photos into Bitcoin wallets on: April 16, 2022, 07:19:51 PM
Personally, I think it's a terrible idea, and o_e_l_e_o pretty much nails it on the head on why. The current system we have is perfect, you don't really need to remember your seed, however if you choose to you could go, and learn the "loci" memorisation technique, which I've given a little example below of.

The current system is random, and therefore you aren't going to be including common household items, that someone could just sit in their room, since my room will likely be the same as yours, there or about. So, randomisation, as much random as possible is always best, then all you have to do is have a secure system put in place of storing it, which varies from user to user.

We don't need to keep coming up with fancy ways of generating the seeds, it's fit how it is.

I think Photo Seeds has a fundamental flaw:
Quote
Odds are much higher that someone will remember a photo or a number of photos, and the order of those photos before they remember 12 random words.
If you've ever played the memory game (kids are much better at it than adults), you'll know you can barely remember a few pictures. And every new picture you see makes it more confusing.
While I do agree with the majority here, photo seeds or generating a seed via photos isn't a good idea mainly due to the metadata issues brought up, I've always thought that pictures are easier to remember than words. In fact, a common memorisation technique "loci" is basically assigning whatever you want to remember in a particular order, and basically imagining images in your mind.

For example, a logical one is a house, which is located on 12 seed lane (imagine a street sign), then you memorise the rooms, so first you go to the front door (word number 1), and you picture a massive red door, then you enter, and go through door number two, which upon entering you picture a donkey playing drums (second word "drums"). So on, and so forth, recommended that you imagine some pretty weird pictures, since you'll better remember them. Point being, images are much easier to remember than some random word.
1906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 16, 2022, 07:13:51 PM
Anyway here are the weigh in results.  Drakkar Klose initially didn't make weight and was given an hour.  He did eventually but he looked terribad.  He was dehydrated and shaking on the scale.  Kinda reminded me of Aspen Ladd.  I won't be including him in my parlays.

I'll have to watch it myself, but I've already got him included on my accumulator, which has had a few legs won from the football. So, I might have to cash out earlier than expected. I don't usually take weigh ins into consideration, but shaking doesn't sound good.

Also, how often do they usually give the fighter time to drop weight? Is it only if they're half pound off or something?

These are my favourites for tonight:

Vicente Luque
Andre Fialho
Mayra Bueno Silva
Pat Sabatini (146)
Devin Clark
Drakkar Klose (156)
Chris Barnett

Obviously, Klose missing weight, and apparently shaking doesn't fill me with confidence, but he's still on there at the moment. I'll review the tape soon. Devin Clark I think could potentially get a decision win if Knight tires out, since I believe this is his first fight at heavyweight?
1907  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Robinhood to enable the lightning network on: April 15, 2022, 08:59:42 PM
Sounds great. Isn't Robinhood traders the kind of people who just leave funds on the platform though? Not necessarily the people who buy bitcoin and withdraw them to a non-custodial wallet?

Regardless, even if I don't think it would be used on Robinhood that much, I hope this move pressures exchanges to follow suit.
I mean its hard to measure that accurately, without just being stereotypical. Honestly, I believe any self respecting exchange should require you to transfer the funds to another address that the user owns, I don't like the idea of having a wallet on an exchange, you're just asking for trouble. I'd have an insane amount of respect for any exchange that would build that into the process. Since, that tells me they actually care about the safety of their customers, and not encouraging bad habits. Of course, they won't since the more people they get on their website, the more money they earn since even being on the website probably gives users the temptation to trade.

Same goes for Robinhood, I'd like to see them dropping support for keeping funds on their website, rather than implementing features to better it.
1908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the price of Bitcoin still in such a state? on: April 15, 2022, 08:50:40 PM
Why is the price of Bitcoin going downhill? I kept saying for two or three months that the marketplace will be better by this time and the price of bitcoin will move forward.
Depends on your reasoning, but that short of a time frame already indicates to me that your speculation was without any sort of evidence, and therefore was just a shot in the dark. The thing is, even if there's a sort of trend going on with the price, the things that can happen around the world that can influence it are unpredictable, what you can probably accurately predict is Bitcoin will be going up in the long term. Three months isn't exactly long term in the grand scheme of things.
1909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammer get scammed on: April 15, 2022, 08:45:12 PM
I like to operate on the basis that someone is innocent before proven guilty, so I wouldn't ever be in this situation. Judging by the way you're writing there's no real hard evidence he was a scammer. Remember, a likely scammer isn't the same as a scammer, you need to have proof of it. Even then, I don't particularly agree with taking a eye for an eye.

The thing is there's a very real risk of you scamming someone who gave all the red flags under the sun, but were actually innocent.

Your behavior is a good indicator for the forum that you cannot be trusted!
OP still has the opportunity to return the Bitcoin, and put it down to bad judgement. Whether they do that or not is something that'll prove whether they can't be trusted. The impulse wasn't exactly great, I agree.
1910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Professional newbie on: April 15, 2022, 08:42:01 PM
Why would it matter? As long as they aren't being annoying, dodgy or breaking forum guidelines, I couldn't care less on the identity someone posts under. Don't forget that higher ranked users might be worried about looking bad if they ask a basic question, that's just the reality. While, everyone has basic questions at times, but just some people like to appear more knowledgable than they might be, which isn't a massive problem if it isn't used maliciously.

If you're knowledgable before joining the forum, great. If you're using multiple alt accounts for different opinions that you don't want to associate with all your identities, great. You're free to do either.
1911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 15, 2022, 01:39:49 PM
For people selecting their scores, remember that Brighton are terrible at converting chances, so going up against any team which has a little bit of defensive ability, they'll struggle. I always find a draw for them is a pretty good shout since they're decent attacking to tend to put pressure on their opposition, but some days they really struggle to get that decisive goal.

Betting terms, definitely going for another United loss/draw, Norwich seem to be showing some final-lap fight (they'll still go down) and 14/1 actually seems pretty decent.

Brighton I hope actually win, or draw, as their next match vs City @18/1 also where my money is. City will be too good on Wednesday but KdB I just read could be injured, and you never know how a team like them comes back after such a bruising game (the FA cup game tomorrow will clue us in I guess, but my pick's Liverpool... why not?).
I initially thought Man Utd as they've been my money maker this year, usually by losing or picking up draws. Honestly, at such fat odds it might be worth putting down a double chance for Norwich. Personally, while I wish it was true, I just don't think they've got the defensive resilience that'll be needed. I can't see them scoring more than one goal against United, hence why I went for a 1-1.

Sakho was one of my favs too at the time, specially that BVB fightback. Klopp was a fan too but yes, no fury like Klopp scorned. He rules with an iron fist and he wants players to know that, and I'm fine with that.

It's really funny when I think about some of my favourite players from that time (and as you said, even from before), for sure, Origi, I would even say Sturridge who, to his credit, really tried to play through his pain barrier for Klopp even though the German suggested his injuries were less physical than mental (and I probably agreed). We also had guys like Moreno, Lovren, Lucas and it's really cool how they still show up on Liverpool socials, clearly still in love. I know for sure they miss hearing their name and their song on the terraces.
I very much had a love, and hate relationship with Lovern. He could he absolutely brilliant one week, and then terrible, and a massive liability to our chances of winning anything the next. I can't bash on his commitment though, reminds me a bit of Skrtel, and Agger combined. The guy tried his best while in the shirt. I liked Sturridge, I just wish he had the determination of Suarez, if he did he would likely still be leading the lines for us. The man at his best was one of the best in the world.
1912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin network will soon become more centralized on: April 15, 2022, 01:32:02 PM
This is pretty much expected, and to be honest I'm quite shocked it hasn't happened sooner. This has trade off's too, basically this legitimatises Bitcoin in peoples minds, even if that's not the intention. So, while these bigger companies will likely price out the smaller ones. Overall, it probably isn't a massive deal for the consumer.

Is this a problem? It doesn't look a problem to me.
Is this centralization? Hardly, since they're private companies competing against each other.
While it encourages centralisation because they're likely to have the higher budget of others, however if you care about centralisation, maybe the best investment is going for lower hashrate, less expensive machines. You aren't being forced to use the leading companies.

Though, where you get your mining machines might become a little less diverse, it doesn't necessarily increase centralisation in Bitcoin.

While NoScript can be a massive change to normal browsing, I don't think it's overly complex. You allow the scripts you believe you can trust or are comfortable with, if you don't then you don't use that website, and go to another one with the same information. NoScript actually increases decentralisation of information, otherwise people would revert to their normal searching habits, and only go to certain websites, which they'll find a bunch of them are using Facebook scripts, Google etc without them actually knowing that before.

But how many people would bother buy Raspberry Pi and initially configure Raspbian OS/PiHole?
I have, and know several others. Yeah, it might be considered niche at the moment, but we've got to consider that advertisements are starting to take over our lives, you can't go anywhere without being subjected to them. I do believe if Pihole was a tad more supported, and easier to setup people would be willing to pay the £20 for a low powered Raspberry Pi to setup an effective network wide ad blocker.

I'm actually surprised that universities, and the like don't adopt this approach, since effectively blocking them you're also increasing the security of the network, which should be top priority when there's multiple students sharing a connection.
1914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 15, 2022, 10:39:22 AM
I'm just glad he managed to get the belt, since if he didn't it would have all seemed like for nothing. I'm still not sure I could justify losing a eye for belt, but there we are. I'm also a fan of his commentary, I sometimes look at discussions around the fighting on the night, and it seems he gets a lot of criticism, along with Joe Rogan. I'm not sure exactly why that is, I've always found him entertaining, and also quite insightful at times.

Also, his podcast is pretty good, very down to earth in typical Bisping fashion.

I just noticed the cancelled fights on this card, this would have been an absolute banger of a card if they wasn't cancelled. Like I said before I actually think its a decent fight night how it is now, but Uriah Hall had a fight cancelled, and I feel that fight would have been that little extra that was needed to really push this card to the top.

1915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Catch 22 Of Reality Of Crypto on: April 15, 2022, 10:33:14 AM
Time. People are stupid. They'll only realize the importance of something only when they really need it.
Arguably, people don't even realise that they actually need something. You know the amount of people I hear slagging off banks, and not trusting them? Then they're ignoring that there are alternatives despite saying "But we're forced too". People tend to just follow the trends, we are very much sheep penned in most of the time. I know its a hard thing to accept, but we've become pacified to the point where we actually believe we need x service, and y service. Sure, some people genuinely like the convenience, but I bet if you asked the majority of people without mentioning Bitcoin if they would like to be in full control of their money, without relying on third parties the majority would be interested.

Bitcoin unfortunately has been dragged through the mud, and therefore there's a negative stigma to it.
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin donations no longer welcome on Wikipedia on: April 15, 2022, 10:29:40 AM
You'll get the initial support of accepting Bitcoin, so the publicity is good, and you will have some users willing to donate to you just for the fact that you accept Bitcoin. However, most of us are treating Bitcoin as a reserve currency, and therefore don't easily part with it, especially with donations, and the like. That's just the unfortunate truth.

Although, I'm not sure I agree with suspending Bitcoin donations, its not like it requires any up keep to keep a donation address on your website, does it? The only upkeep would be if they're using a payment processor which charges for a special way of donating. I'll be honest, I never checked how it was implemented on Wikipedia.
1917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 15, 2022, 06:46:58 AM
I'm struggling to put together an accumulator this weekend. I've only got Man United drawing, and Arsenal winning. I'm thinking the United game will be 1-1 as Norwich haven't beaten Man United in years if what I've read is true. Although, I think Pukki will penetrate that defense. Arsenal are on decent form, while Southampton are coming back after that Chelsea thumping, so think it'll be more of the same against Arsenal. The rest I don't have a clue about.

Yeah, it's embarrassing how I'll keep watching, if my feed shows it, Klopp doing it with the fans 30 mins after the game's ended. Whatever happens after this, however he leaves our club (and I pray he changes his mind and stays a lot longer), I don't know how I'll get over him.

Another thing I realised only recently is Klopp sticks to his changes no matter what, huh? Taking Jota off right after he scores, for example. It's probably more noticeable for me now because we've got such depth we didn't have just not too long ago.

I'm like you, I think we're the favourites every game now -- don't care the bookies don't agree. Think the only reason the odds are tilted as no one knows for sure who Klopp will start. Again, something I'm not used to because last season, the lineup was only unfamiliar because of injuries. This time, people really are fighting for a place.

Origi off to Milan, will you Reds miss him? How can we ever forget him against Barca? Credit to him, he's accepted lower wages for more football, Toons were ready to pay more than what he earned at Liverpool. Not the biggest fan of Mina and am expecting guy to also leave if we find someone else though to be fair, he has done more than his share in FA Cup, which is why we're meeting City this weekend.
I'm pretty sure there were some unconfirmed rumours that he was thinking of extending, something about his wife giving the go ahead? I think it came from a quote in one of his interviews, although I didn't verify it myself since I didn't want to get my hopes up. I remember on the day we signed Klopp I basically said that's the beginning of a new era, and I've never been proven so right in my life. How far we've come since he has took over is nothing short of incredible. We were basically where United are today.

Yeah, Klopp is a stubborn man, at least that's the impression I get. Coutinho used to be my favourite player, but when we were linked to him a few months back, I knew that Klopp wouldn't have him back based on how he left. It's the same as Sakho when he used to play for us, I quite liked him even over he was largely a liability for us, as soon as crossed Klopp his career was over.

I love Origi, cult hero in my book, and to be honest before we had Klopp I remember him leading the lines for quite a while, and pulling it off. Unfortunately, he probably isn't good enough for first team football, but that doesn't make me like him any less. He did the job when he needed too, and he has made some incredible memories for us Liverpool fans. To be honest, many of our players have with Origi, and Alison probably coming top of that list.
1918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 15, 2022, 06:40:34 AM
I'm aware of the story behind it all, but I haven't watched that specific documentary, did his team know about the eye? I'm surprised if they would openly admit to that, since you'd like to think there would be certain ramifications to allowing a fighter, with one eye to fight, and therefore endangering him.

I can tell you now, if I lost a eye in the UFC I would never step back in. While it might be irrational to fear losing the other the same way, since the statistics are behind you, I wouldn't risk it. The thing is it was quite clear now looking back that Bisping was compromised on the one side, as he definitely wasn't as good as defending.
1919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 14, 2022, 06:33:00 PM
On current odds I have the following underdogs winning:

Chris Barnett (I just can't bet against this guy)

Brandon Jenkins - probably being the most risky of the night, since I imagine the vast majority have Klose winning the fight. I actually have Devin Clark winning via a decision, since I think William Knight might gas out, the dude is massive, and carrying a whole lot of muscle that needs a lot more energy.

Andre Fialho - Obviously. He's my favourite underdog of the night.

Caio Borralho - I'm actually going for him against the undefeated Gadzhi, not for any particular reason, other than having a good feeling. So, four underdogs of the night.

Usually, I  find the women fights quite competitive even when the odds are rather wide, but this week I see both favourites winning by an absolute landslide.
1920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 14, 2022, 01:35:49 PM
I have a huge admiration, and a massive amount of respect for Bisping. I tell you now, not a lot of people would have carried on fighting after that injury, I think that speaks volumes on the amount of passion he had for the fight game.

This weekend, Bellator is having an event. There are two big fights, two champions will defend their titles, and light heavy champion will go home with 1 million bucks. That is this weeks UFC event is so weak.
In terms of big names, Bellator usually only have it once in a blue moon, while the UFC sometimes puts out big name cards back to back. I personally don't mind lesser names, since we get to see the future of the UFC. Although, like I said its not a complete no namer, and there's some decent fights in that card, and some absolute wars.
