Why this Ngannou is so much popular? Because he is a UFC heavyweight champion? Or because he knock people down in a brutal manner? I dont get, why this guy gets so much attention? Sure there are people who knocks other people down in among heavyweights. Because he looks fit and have muscles? Any other black skinned fighters looks the same.
He's a bit of a freak of nature, and I don't mean any disrespect with that either. The guy is very gifted when it comes to physical size, and the amount of speed he possess despite being so muscle bound, and considering he hasn't been doing MMA for nearly as long as others, kind of goes to show he has a certain knack for the more technical side of things which to be honest has been the most impressive thing for me, and what makes him a outlier in a lot of comparisons. Ngannou vs Gane wasn't exactly the most entertaining fight, but Ngannou did what he needed to do against Gane who has been training pretty much all his life, and was considered the vastly better striker, and wrestler, and the only chance Ngannou had was via his power. He proved us wrong that day. Although, having said that the reason he's a bit of a star is because he arguably as the hardest punch in the UFC.

However, ultimately its because he can deliver. He gets the highlight reels, and he's also a fairly likeable character. He isn't a Conor Mcgregor that sells the show, but he gets on with his business, and usually delivers. He isn't a super star in the same sort of comparison to other fighters, but he is most definitely a entertaining fighter when he steps inside that cage.
1822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Export private keys that had movement - Bitcoin Core on: April 29, 2022, 02:20:22 PM
This take ages! Sad
Unless you're running on a rather slow computer or you've made a lot of transactions, I wouldn't have thought it would take that long. If you're running it from the graphical console, you could attempt to run it via the terminal to see if that helps performance a little bit.

Goes without saying, if you're struggling with performance, terminate other programs until you've completed this step. If your CPU is maxing, you'll have difficulty with whatever you're trying to do.
1823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver resurfaces on Twitter, backs doge and bitcoin cash on: April 29, 2022, 01:32:39 PM
Then what he's saying now also seems kind of old because Doge being cheap and flexible has been a feature for a while, but even excessive attempts by Musk didn't bring Dogecoin to global adoption. And I agree with the op that his point about custodial wallets isn't nice.
For me, and this is only an assumption on my behalf. I genuinely believe that Elon was somewhat trolling. He always likes to take the mic a little bit, and it isn't out of character for him to basically shill something that hasn't got any technical merit at all, into something that is going to take over the future. However, when Roger Ver does it, I genuinely believe he probably does think its the future, since its consistent with his general beliefs involving cryptocurrencies in the past.

I'd probably eat my hat if Doge ever got anywhere near global adoption, I'm not even sure Bitcoin can do it, depending on what your definition of global adoption is, of course.
1824  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Guide] How to run a Bitcoin Core full node for under 50 bucks! on: April 29, 2022, 01:14:12 PM
Anyone ever tempted to run a node off a solar panel? I assume a single board computer would likely be the most realistic way of going about it.

Yes, very good point! We talked in the past about people with bandwidth limits and total data limits and such. While tedious, with such an option in Core, they could set it to a speed that only downloads 5GB a day or so, to complete IBD in a bit over 2 months if that's the maximum their data plan or bandwidth allows them.
I know the vast majority of people wouldn't find it useful, and that's probably the reason it hasn't already been implemented, however as time goes on if we're going to expect more adoption, it could very well aid that. I know there are already alternatives such as a lightweight client or just not running a node, and don't get me wrong again the vast majority aren't going to be interested. I don't know, I just feel it could be worth it regardless, as it might just encourage someone who was already on the fence, to give running a full node a try, which obviously directly benefits the network as a whole.

Went with mynode in a VM for now because I could not get everything to work under linux and I wanted a lightning setup. No real reason, just wanted it.
What specifically didn't work in Linux, but works in the virtual machine?
1825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver resurfaces on Twitter, backs doge and bitcoin cash on: April 29, 2022, 01:07:30 PM
Honestly, this backing is worth as much as a chocolate fire guard. Doge has no comparison to Bitcoin whatsoever, Bitcoin actually stands for something, and is providing something that traditional money doesn't. Doge, is ultimately a joke, and I don't mean that as an attack, that is exactly what it was, and remains as so.

To be honest, I'd ever-so-slightly root for DOGE because it's it's a meme and it has decent historical relevance (though I'm not planning on owning any). But Litecoin and BitcoinCash in 2022? Man, I hope he's a fan of losing money.
It's annoying though, that people are claiming Doge will out perform everything else, and I do believe its no longer a meme in a lot of people's heads, they've just fallen for the sarcastic trend that was going on to promote Doge as the new revolution.

Sure, you could potentially make a profit on it, but its not by any technical merit whatsoever, and eventually it'll fall flat on his face, the problem is something as equally as silly will likely replace it.
1826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hit a new high amid price volatility on: April 29, 2022, 01:02:29 PM
Increase in hash rate is directly proportional to increase in miners and also an indication of network security as more miners are verifying transaction making the authenticity of every transaction entered into the Blockchain more secure and temper proof.
Depends what your definition of a miner is, if its based on hardware sure. If it's the person/organisation behind that miner then it might not be directly indicative of more people entering the market, since a lot of existing miners will be looking to scale their operations, and earn the maximum amount possible.

While technically it does increase the amount verifying transactions, to a certain point it doesn't really improve it all that much. Unless, as you say there's new people entering the market, as that at least reduces the amount of centralisation. Mining being probably one of the more centralised parts of Bitcoin.
1827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 29, 2022, 12:58:07 PM
I don't blame Ngannou at all pushing for what he wants, after all there should be enough leeway to allow him to have one rather large fight in boxing against Tyson Fury; without it actually effecting his UFC career too much. Dana will take a cut, and probably earns more from it than he would if it didn't happen. I'm not sure what is holding up the negotiations, as from Dana's stand point it looks like a no brainer. I guess the only issue is the actual contract negotiations, particularly salary on the UFC side of things, so how much Ngannou gets paid per fight in the UFC.

For me though, it'll get done. Tyson will likely fight Ngannou in a sort of exhibition match without too much on the line. Ngannou will get a few more fights in the UFC. Although, I can't see Ngannou being around for long in the UFC either. His knees are already spent by the looks of things.
1828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 29, 2022, 08:56:31 AM
Arlovski's last defeat was versus Tom Aspinall. However, Aspinall has shown that he is championship material during his last fight versus Alexander Volkov where he won easily.
Yeah, Aspinall probably is going to be at the very least challenging for the belt, so it wasn't really a shock for Arlovski losing that one. Although, his last few fights against the no namers as you say, were entertaining. I personally don't count them as no namers, just not very popular fighters. The question is, Arlovski said he wants to keep fighting for years to come, but is his body going to hold out for that long. He looks pretty good for his age right now, normally fighters start a rapid decline way before, and ultimately are forced to bow out, due to the damage they take. Arlovski hasn't really been on the receiving side much even when losing. I'm not counting the Tom fight in that though, as that's the exception.
1829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Features of fake/scam AirDrops on: April 28, 2022, 11:41:48 PM
Not all airdrops are scams maybe yes some of them  are not true but we must think in the last 2017, many airdrops are legit and people make money for their projects. But the only thing I can say for now on let's try to be practical cause scam project are anywhere, many project offer high amount of money if you do the referral.  But for me it's better look a steady job than waiting for legit air drops.
Maybe true, although it has got the point where like almost all are either outright scams, or very speculative developers hoping to get rich quick themselves, which actually if you look at how much they earn, proves to be true quite often. It's the users that get the arse end of the deal.

Seriously, if the project behind the airdrop doesn't sound very good or have anything interesting about it, then its probably going to go bad at some point. Very rarely these days are there anything of substance, most are copies, of copies. Plus, to be honest I get the impression that a lot of them are made by the same people, looking to recycle, and make as much money as possible. Well, a few have been outright caught, so we know it happens.
1830  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Wallet Confidence? on: April 28, 2022, 11:33:18 PM
Confidence as a wallet? Pretty decent. Confidence of the company, and their practices? Low. There are better alternatives out there, at least which have yet to be proven to be selling/sharing customer data. So, if you care about privacy definitely reconsider, and research the alternatives. Although, as hinted by a few users here, storing your money on a closed source wallet or a exchange wallet is literally the worst thing you could do, so is Ledger better than those? Probably, yeah.

It's worth questioning why a product can be considered open-source if they use a closed-source secure element and no one knows what it does except that the company promises it doesn't do anything bad. And Wallet Scrutiny posted an interesting snippet from Keystone's Github:
Yeah, it's slightly counter productive. If you want to be trustworthy, the only way to be trustworthy when it comes to wallet software/hardware is by being trustless i.e having the upmost transparency e.g open source software, as well as open source hardware. Obviously, that's really hard to come by in this day, and age.
1831  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hardware wallet vs software wallet for daily transaction on: April 28, 2022, 11:30:30 PM
One more that is not mentioned is that safepal wallet and their app are sponsored and supported by Binance, and some people would say that is great news, but let's think about it.
Binance is recently kissing regulator asses much more than ever before, and it's safe to assume they are recording and reporting all addresses and transactions from safepal wallet.
They could in theory even stop or block access to safepal app and you won't be able to use wallet anymore if they connect you with any blacklisted or ''tainted'' addresses.
I would not trust seed phrase generated by safepal and I would send all coins to other wallet asap, but I could just be little paranoid about this.
For me at least, if you're offering wallet software the primary goal should be trust, as well as transparency. So, it should be open source. Although, for me I don't want to be pushed into a certain exchange or service, even if the exchange is like universally accepted as the greatest thing on the earth, I don't want to be pressured into it or only offered that option. By all means, link to documentation from multiple sources on what makes a exchange good, but definitely don't push a certain exchange. That's not because of the reasons you've mentioned above (those too), but the fact that we should be pushing for decentralisation, and therefore shouldn't be recommending a singular service.

I don't think you're being too paranoid. Safepal, and therefore Binance aren't exactly covering themselves in glory here. Although, unfortunately this is how they make money, and I suspect far more exchanges, and wallet software is indeed doing exactly the same.
1832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hashrate hit a new high amid price volatility on: April 28, 2022, 11:20:18 PM
While "Bitcoin hit a new high amid price volatility" may be misleading, the fact the hash rate went ATH again is interesting, especially since there's energy crisis in some areas (hence probably increased prices for electricity here and there), semiconductors shortage (hence I expect somewhat smaller production of miners) and political drama (omg bitcoin consumes this and that and it's not even green!)

Thanks for the nice news. I have hopes the price will also get (sooner or later) follow better this trend.
The great thing about this is despite the ongoing political drama that you mention, especially with the energy claims as of recent, Bitcoin once again proves in the long run it's resistant to this sort of ongoings, which bodes well for the future, and especially the price.

Honestly, if anything if would be the perception of the public with energy consumption I'd say is one of the biggest threats to Bitcoin, especially with how the world is going towards the greener the better sort of mentality. So, while I don't think we've escaped the problems, at least from a Bitcoin users perspective we haven't lost faith, evidenced by the increase in hash rate.
1833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 28, 2022, 11:16:59 PM
Completely forgot that there is going to be Jake Collier vs Andrei Arlovski fight this weekend. This guy, Arlovski just cant get enough of fight. 43 years, 55 fights in professional career, been in UFC for 22 years. Again, Arlovski is sort of a card feeler, as his opponents record is like zebra - win/lose/win/lose... Arlovski has replaced Justin Tafa, who withdrew from fight. Well, that does not make Collier fight easier Cheesy I think Arlovski is going to win this fight (because Collier won previous fight and "zebra" rule gonna be used here Cheesy)
Arlovski is a great example of someone who just loves what they're doing. Talk about the UFC pay rate all you want, Arlovski has made his money through sheer volume, especially considering he's a legend of the sport, and is quite successful. So, at this point yeah he isn't as good as he once was, and he's probably starting to feel the toll of the sport from all the years, but watch his fights he still has a lot of fun in there, and also I find him quite entertaining still which is quite rare when the fighters are knocking on a bit.

Can't bet against the man either with his records, especially with his knack for upsets.

I was almost certain that Klopp wasn't going to resign,  I thought he was quite adamant about it, however if you hear him whenever he talks about the city, the players, and the club he has just clicked with us, which I do believe is exactly why it went from not resigning, and returning home to lets sign for another two years, and make the most of things. However, to be honest not that he has signed on for two additional years (four years in total) I'm a little more hopeful of tying him down a little longer, which I wasn't before I basically just accepted that we'll have a massive hangover period after Klopp leaves.

Seriously, if we sign Salah now on a long term deal, I might even accept not winning the quadruple...might Wink.
1835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: FURY vs WHYTE - CONFIRMED on: April 28, 2022, 11:10:18 PM
He would 100% take it. Both his dad and wife have said that he would within the last few days. He will care about legacy. What boxer doesn't? He's undefeated but with every fight you risk losing that status and once it's gone it's gone. There's going to be so much money on the line to fight Usyk and AJ that I'm sure it's a risk he's willing to take. I think he wins both fights though.
I think Fury wins both, and to be honest I'd like to see it just so we could settle the debate, as there are definitely those that believe Usyk is the better boxer, which he might be, but he has to prove it, beating Joshua who arguably isn't at his best, isn't saying a lot. I'm not saying that Joshua is a easy fight these days or he's past it, I just believe Ruiz really did dent his sort of invincible attitude.

I don't see Joshua beating Usyk on points, for me the only route to victory for him is either knock out or technical knock out, since I don't see him outboxing Usyk, just as I don't see him out boxing Fury. Whatever the result of the fight, I'd still like to see Fury fight both. Both come with their different problems, but Joshua can knockout anyone, and that is at least more exciting to me than the Usyk fight.
1836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 27, 2022, 02:05:01 PM
You really have to question their desire now -- or that of their coach. At this point, you wonder if this Everton should stay up at the expense of teams like Burnley who happen to be half decent to watch. Or maybe I'm just saying that as still can't really get used to the weirdly captivating phenomenon called Weghorst who stirs in me the same eerie fascination of watching Crouch dribbling.
I'm not even being hyper critical because they're a rival. Toss that aside they are genuinely one of the worst teams to watch in the Premier League. At least Burnley do have a bit of bite to them. It doesn't help that I really dislike Richardlison as a football player, pretty much everything he does on that football pitch annoys me, but I guess that's part of his quality, he can wind people up on the pitch. Although, even if Everton stay up, I don't see him staying past this summer. A lot of those players have already mentally given up, and they'll just be looking to jump to the next ship.

Whether or not they'll be jumping from a sinking ship remains to be seen, but I do think so. Everton are going to put in another horrible display of football against Chelsea, despite needing as many points as possible, and ultimately they'll likely concede a goal in the second half as they get tired, and Chelsea step up the pace. Just like we did.
1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING FURY WON IN ROUND 6 ]: FURY vs WHYTE - THE FIGHT on: April 27, 2022, 02:00:54 PM
For Fury to fight Joshua there have to be belts on the line otherwise it serves Fury no purpose just for bragging rights. Fury must come out of retirement to fight again and he probably would only do it for a unification fight.

Will Joshua be able to defeat Usyk? I think Usyk will beat Joshua again.
Despite what Fury might say about legacy, I believe he cares about it more than he would lead you to believe. If he gets offered that Joshua fight with or without the belts, I think he'll take it.

Usyk beats Joshua, unless Joshua wakes up, and goes back to what made him, i.e adopt the more risker brawling type style, ever since he got clipped by Ruiz in their first fight he has been reluctant to get into those exchanges, which ultimately has negatively effected him as a boxer. Joshua isn't highly technical, and I'm not sure why he would pretend to be.

There's a path to beating Usyk, but I'm afraid it has to be via knockout. There isn't any other way for Joshua. Fury on the other hand could knock him out or very well just out point him. Joshua doesn't have that in his locker.

1838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 27, 2022, 01:57:30 PM
If you ask me, I would not pay to watch Fury vs Ngannou fight, as I have already seen it. It is called Fury vs Wilder parts 1-3.
Wilder probably more dangerous in a boxing match. Fury probably finds it even easier against Ngannou. It's not about the competitiveness though, its all about big names, and how many seats they can sell. I'll probably watch it since I'm a fan of both, but I won't be taking it seriously, pretty much how I was watching Fury vs Whyte.

I don't mind being at the arse end of your career, and therefore not challenging yourself which I think is true for both of these men. However, Ngannou doesn't really have a whole lot to prove, whereas Fury despite in my mind being the best boxing out there, still has question marks regarding Usyk, and Joshua.
1839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 27, 2022, 08:51:26 AM
Francis Ngannou said he won't sign another contract with UFC unless boxing fight with heavyweight fighter Tyson Fury is not part of a deal.
Both of them want to fight and I think that only obstacle is Dana White who doesn't like fighters making more money than he want's them to earn.
If you ask me I would pay to watch this fight and I don't care what Dana or UFC thinks about this.
Dana has been accused of locking in fighters to the UFC, and not allowing them to compete in other competitions even if it's a different sport. I think it probably gets done, but Dana will request a huge share of the prize money. I'm not sure what sort of money we would be talking for that fight, but I expect it to be less than the Conor vs Mayweather fight, so Dana isn't as inclined to accept this one.

Still, I think it gets done. Ngannou isn't going to have a big enough boxing career to be able to make the money he could be making with the UFC, so I imagine Ngannou will be the one to cave in, and give Dana a substantial share in the prize money of the Tyson Fury fight.
1840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING FURY WON IN ROUND 6 ]: FURY vs WHYTE - THE FIGHT on: April 27, 2022, 08:48:19 AM
Do boxers always have some sort of excuse after a fight? I don't recall this a few years ago, but it seems recently boxers will say anything when they've lost. Wilder, and now Whyte claiming their opponent cheated. Quite frankly, while you might argue the push was illegal, I didn't think it was much in it. Whyte already looked buzzed, and sort of leaned into Fury, very likely a natural reaction to get space, which you see quite a few times in every fight. The reason he went down is because he was so hurt.

Also, I've looked at the replays, and it doesn't appear to show Whyte hitting the back of his head on the canvas after the punch like he claims. While, it might be a little more believable than Wilder's excuses, I don't think there's any real substance behind it.

I'm also convinced that we will see Fury in the ring again, even if it's against Ngannou. Although, the Joshua fight will likely come knocking, for very big money.
