1741  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best way to advertise your product/services offered in bitcoins? on: March 06, 2018, 07:16:19 PM
Thanks! Could you please tell if you know any places you can write about your products/services in bitcoins and wallet holders can search for it?
Not sure, you mean like you publish an article about your product/service in a medium stylish way?

There's not that many crypto-related sites that i know of that do this thing.

Your best bet would probably be this forum, and to be more specific, for a service you can make a thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 and here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0 ( If it's an ANN of a new company for example).
1742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best way to advertise your product/services offered in bitcoins? on: March 06, 2018, 06:49:46 PM
I mean advertisement targeting wallet holders, for people who have bitcoins?

Probably on crypto-related websites such as coinmarketcap and all these kinds of sites. Coindesk etcetera. I would however avoid advertising on any faucet sites etc, as their exchange/CTR are extremely low ( garbage traffic.)

If you're serious about advertising a product/service, i'd recommend something like https://cointraffic.io/, which advertises on coinmarketcap, cointelegraph etc.
1743  Other / Meta / Re: Useful bitcointalk chrome extensions? on: March 05, 2018, 09:16:44 PM
I'm a software developer and I've been thinking of creating some chrome extensions that would be helpful for bitcointalk members.
Does anyone have ideas on what would be helpful?
Currently I have one idea, a small window that shows up when you hover trust of a user(put mouse cursor on it), it'll show a summary of the trusted feedback.
If I created such chrome extension, would you guys be interested in it? the source code will be available for public so you can rest assured security wise.

I'd love to somehow get a notification when someone quotes me or mentions me, but i am not too sure that that is possible without giving you my login details.

I guess you could make it that you'll just give up a UID that you want to follow/get updated on if it(the UID) gets quoted or mentioned somewhere, but then again, that's basically the search function but with a bit more user
convenience and functionality.
1744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much bitcoin can exist in the world? on: March 05, 2018, 06:37:27 PM
If we take all the servers that exists and completely fill them with cryptocurrency data, how much can we have at once?  Roll Eyes Nothing infinite after all... Right?  Roll Eyes

No. There is a maximum of 21 million bitcoin that can be generated. But due to the genesis block (not having a private key) & some other stuff, it is actually a bit less then 21 million..

See https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/38998 for a more detailed answer.

Also, if you would mine with all the efficient hardware existing in the current world, it would still take years to get to the 21 million coins, ( due to the difficulty being adjusted to the hashpower of the network).
1745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Altcoin prices? on: March 03, 2018, 10:52:06 PM
Quick question,

If we have let's say the altcoin "Xo1" at 200Sat and the bitcoin goes up for 100% and nobody sells "Xo1" in that time how many satoshi will be worth?

Much thanks for your answers!

It will still be worth 200 satoshi's if no one buys or sells XO1, bitcoin going up in dollar value doesn't change the amount of satoshi's it is worth (100 million) ( in the hypothethical scenario you created where XO1 isn't being sold or bought in the time between)

But ofcourse the dollar value for XO1 will change by 100% ( if bitcoin would go up in $ value by 100% and XO1 isn't being bought or sold ( stays at the same price)).
1746  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Coinbase.io Domain For Sale $300 USD on: March 03, 2018, 07:55:27 PM
I bought the domain here on bitcointalk.org a while ago. Domain is hosted on namecheap. First $300 USD BTC takes it.

Verify I own it by visiting http://coinbase.io/

PM me to purchase.

I'll buy it from you for 150$. Pm me if you're still interested in selling it.  Also, do you mind using an escrow for this deal since you're just a member currently??

BTW: This is not an internalized domain right? And no, i'm not going to use it for phishing purposes.
1747  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did I lose my Bitcoin? on: March 03, 2018, 05:29:09 PM
I stored 0.3 BTC on a Ledger Nano S (SegWit address). Then Zclassic said they would fork BTC (non-Segwit addresses) and ZCL into BTCP, and I created a non-SegWit address on my Ledger and sent the money to this address. I can see that the transaction has been verified on Blockchain.info, but the balance is not visible in the account on my Ledger interface. I am able to sign a message and prove that I own the address, but neither the address nor the balance shows up on the main interface.

Is this a bug, or have I lost my funds?

Well, if you can sign a message from the adress you send the funds too, it means that you have access to the private keys of that adress, which makes it extremely unlikely that the funds are lost, and rather plausible that something might be wrong with the GUI etc.

Are you sure your wallet is synchronized correctly?

Try something like this:

The ledger wallet application queries an online ledger service to get your current balance.
Sometimes there are a few problems with the connection to the ledger server.
Did you already try to click on the reload button a few times (this seems to work better than ledgers auto update)?
You could also try to remove the app data (settings -> tools -> reset application data) to force your wallet to synchronise.

Or alternatively, if that doesn't work, try importing the seed (again) or in an alternative wallet to see if the balances shows up there.
1748  Other / Meta / Re: there is a limit of bitcoin account in one IP/device? on: March 03, 2018, 03:27:46 PM
is there a rules/regulation of doing multiple account that having a bounty campaign in one device/IP? you answer will be appreciated ^_^

You are allowed only one account per I.P whether you are participating in campaign or not. You are still a newbie with 6 posts and thus I think you are just day dreaming. Better focus on one account because:

1) If you try to create multiple accounts from same IP, there is something called IP ban. Such accounts will be banned from posting and you will be asked to pay some money to allow posting again.

2) Now that we have merit system here, members are having hard time ranking up just one account. So I do not think you will able to use those multiple accounts for signature campaigns without merits.

False. You are allowed to have as many accounts as you want on 1 IP. although you might need to pay a fee to register multiple accounts, however these things are not the same. Paying a Fee =/= not allowed.

However, it might(is) be frowned upon to use multiple accounts in the same bounty. If you have multiple accounts solely for the purpose of making money ( eg - farming signature campaigns), then there's a high chance you will be tagged by DT members, essentially rendering your account useless for any reputable signature campaigns. (but NOT banned.)
1749  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex and Poloniex verification on: March 03, 2018, 11:45:29 AM
Bittrex and Poloniex verification

I opened accounts with Poloniex and Bittrex a little under a year ago. I think I remember - I believe it was Bittrex - where their verification process required confirming my cell phone number to become verified.

Can anyone tell me how to check to see if I am verified on both exchanges short of having to make a withdrawal?

On bittrex i believe everyone needs to add some sort of government documentation to be eligible to withdraw , passport/driver's license.

Poloniex currently allows legacy accounts to withdraw 2000$ every day, but this will change after Q1 ( so in a few weeks i'm guessing), and then all legacy accounts will be closed and some sort of documentation will be needed to withdraw(?) or atleast trade.

So you might be able to withdraw on poloniex currently if you have an account with a "Legacy" status.
1750  Other / Meta / Re: Messege to Theymos !!!! Forgive me Mods !!Is unbanning my account possible ? on: March 02, 2018, 10:15:50 PM
Anyway mods , you guys could do whatever you want , i felt bad for my friend thats why , I will not post any more on behalf of him. I was posting because he was disappointed and i saw its really hard to reach theymos (many mods were saying). Do whatever you guys want , this is private forum. You guys are king.

Lastly i saw its copy pasting but there he accepted it. Is not there any way out ? or life imprisonment punishment. Say it clearly.

If your friend indeed got banned from copypasting, the account is as good as lost. There's a zero tolerance policy on copy-pasters, if you get caught you'll indeed be permanently banned from the forum.

Quoting a mod:

Ban appeals do work, but they are situation dependent, on what you were banned for and the severity of the offense. If you had been an active member for a year, but broke a bunch of rules because you were stressed out and having a bad day, you may be unbanned after reflecting for an appropriate amount of time if you can demonstrate you understand what you did wrong and how you'll avoid doing that again in the future. If you were banned for copy and pasting, spamming for the purpose of a signature ad, or something similar, you are out of luck.
Which, again, implies that there will be no unbanning for copy & pasters.
1751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I still claim my free Bitcoin Cash and/or Bitcoin gold? on: March 02, 2018, 09:24:16 PM
NO, you can't claim it now it was only available at the time of launch.

Did you even bother reading the thread? How did you come to this conclusion anyway? I'm quite curious.

There's no expiration on funds/(coins) that have been credited to you, that would be extremely weird and something only old-school & fraudulent banks would try to do.
1752  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: myetheriumwallet on: March 02, 2018, 09:18:38 PM
Can anyone help?i have recently added coins to. m.e.w but cant view them from instructions.Seems complicated, have tried many times ,driving me crazy.!

What do you mean by coins? MEW only supports Ethereum and her tokens.

Did you by "add" mean that you send money to an ethereum adress specified on their site ( in your wallet), or did you by add mean that you added a token, and send funds to the adress of said token in MEW, which are not showing up in your MyEtherWallet?
1753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do i create a hardfork of altcoin? on: March 02, 2018, 07:19:49 PM
I want to change the whole codebase to say litecoin, should i just change the details of the blockchain onto the new codebase and distribute for mass adoption?

Thanks
I guess you could indeed just add a new genesis block, and change RPC ports + some other things which i don't know out the top of my head, which can be found by an easy google.

I wouldn't expect anyone to spoonfeed you, a list of some basic things you will need are listed here, https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/30709/detailed-guide-on-how-to-create-a-litecoin-fork-with-pre-mine-instructions

However if you're not doing this for educational purposes, it is probably a waste of time. No one is going to adapt/adopt your shitty litecoin clone, as jackg already stated.
1754  Economy / Services / Re: who can create block explorer like this on: March 02, 2018, 06:44:31 PM
who can create block explorer link this

http://165.227.219.245:3001/

give me skype or telegram id

That block explorer is open source and (  i believe ), free to use. See their github https://github.com/iquidus/explorer, anyone with a little bit of technical/coding skills should be able to install this correctly.

I guess you could also use this open source software, although i'm not too sure if this can be used for commercial goals/projects...

1755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Airdrop Selection on: March 02, 2018, 06:01:47 PM
There has to be a catch with airdrops doesnt it? How can people give away free money?

They usually do it to generate attention for their project, giving a small amount ( 1-5%) of the total supply away for a lot of attention (which could result in potential buyers) is probably profitable.

Some airdrops require you to have another digital currency, so you could argue that alot of people will buy that currency just to participate in the airdrop ( which could also potentially result in a lot of money/higher marketcap).

Or sometimes you need to complete offers to receive your share of the airdrop ( sharing stuff of them on social media, complete certain offers etc..)
1756  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Types of wallets. Which one's the best? on: March 02, 2018, 05:06:08 PM
Hello guys.

I've been reading a lot about crypto these days and there is one thing that always pops up: wallet security. As far as I know, there three types of wallet: desktop wallet, webwallet and external wallet (Trezor and the like). What are the differences between them? Which one is better security-wise?

Thanks!  Smiley

Webwallets are arguably the worst ones. -- You are dependant on their service & sites, and with most of them it is really hard to access your private keys ( blockchain.info), plus you're missing alot of functionality, RBF/ CPFP / etc.

Desktop wallets such as bitcoin core and Electrum both provide full security ( in terms of access to keys etc, ) and full functionality. Although if your PC is ratted/infected, i wouldn't be so sure how safe they would be in that case. I believe that there shouldn't really be a problem if you have strong encryption, but don't quote me on that..

External wallets ( Trezor/Ledger nano S),  people usually say these are the safest, and the best, due to them  being encrypted and very movable ( like a USB-stick, you can take them anywhere you go!). I'm not sure if Nano/Trezor offer the same functionality as bitcoin core / electrum though.
1757  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Airdrop Selection on: March 02, 2018, 02:40:41 PM
There are just so many airdrops.  Do people just do as many as they can in no particular order or is there a way to see which are the best?

I think that there's a good amount of people here who just do as many airdrops as possible. However i for one really can't be asked. I only do some promising ones which are listed on sites such as

https://coinmarketcal.com/, Simply filter the events to AIRDROP ONLY! the hassle of claiming the small coins which do airdrops is just too large for the return.

People on sites like above vote for airdrops, and usually the more well-known and popular ones come out on top.

Today for example, is a binance airdrop, https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001233691
1758  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: HashFlare worth to reinvest ??!! on: March 02, 2018, 12:56:40 PM
Hi guys ! I have several rigs also I have HashFlare contact with only 5 TH/s with SHA256
I wanna know your oppinion  about to to see In the future it might worth to reinvest to my contract witch will be end of December this year. Im try to to say to compare and see all consequences in the future(I have 9 month left).  (Not bct are bubble ,nothing like this) but if btc gonna be stay constantly between 10K -11K for several month or a year it will be worth to me DO NOT reinvest just take my bcc out.
Somebody has a REALISTIC again REALISTIC hope or prediction what to do ??

I would personally stay far away from these sites. Not only because there's a huge chance that they will end up scamming you ( because it is infact a ponzi), but also because they take a huge cut if they're actually legit.

What's against it to buy your own hardware and mine yourself, instead of being dependant on a (potentially) fraudulent site, which will give you a contract where they slice off your earnings by X percent every month, ( i know difficulty etc, but still..)

Most of the people investing in these cloud mining sites have only made a profit because bitcoin went x10 last year, not because the cloud mining site is doing god's work.. Not to mention that their support is either non-existent, or REALLY slow. There's dozens of scam reports against them. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2683539.0 for example.
1759  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking for software to organize a cryptocurrency exchange on: March 02, 2018, 11:58:27 AM
The question, unfortunately, is still relevant ...

Our company is looking for software to organize a cryptocurrency exchange - not a simple exchanger, but an cryptocurrency stock exchange

We are considering any options for purchasing software, but your software should provide the following opportunities:

1. Placement of the software and all client wallets (both hot and cold) only on our servers.
2. The possibility of making trades in different pairs of cryptocurrency (unlimited quantity).
3. The ability to trade of arbitrary tokens (both ours and others).
4. Ability to organize margin trading.
5. Availability (or availability of integrating) of trading tools similar to TickTrader or MetaTrader5 .
6. The possibility of attracting liquidity to the stock exchange by integration with liquidity aggregation sites.
7. Availability of all instruments for connecting external counterparties (payment agents, Banks, card issuers, etc.)
8. The possibility to realize on your software a geographically distributed fault-tolerant solution for a cryptocurrency stock exchange. We want to place servers step-by-step in several data centers, and if the servers fails in one of the data centers, the trading must continue on servers in another data center.
9. You give us the source code of the software - we want to have opportunity to modify it independently in future (this requirement is very desirable, but not 100% mandatory).

Waiting for your offers!

This might be of interest of, you, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3038339 These guys are selling a 16.000$ script, with a working demo. Do note that i've not seen their source code, so i really can't vouch for them, use at own risk!

For a cheaper solution you can maybe try something like http://grabfile.net/product/bitcoin-p2p-trading-platform/, and modify it to your liking, although again, i can't vouch for the product. buy & use at own risk!
1760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello, How Do Junior Members Upload Images? on: March 01, 2018, 11:18:42 PM
I had earlier removed the two images that refuse two show but they are back on my post now.

I see what the problem is now. You are trying to link images that are hosted locally on your PC.

http://file:///storage/emulated/0/Download/tokyo-3131978_1920.jpg is not a website or something bitcointalk can fetch data from.

You'll need to upload your image to something like Imgur, and then use that link instead of http://file:///

You did use the tags correctly, so no issue there.

Thanks. It finally worked when  I used imgur as you suggested.

Just one question: is their a required pixel size for images posted on threads?

I don't think so, i am able to post 1x1 pixel images just fine. See above^^

There might be a maximum size though, as i don't think 5000x5000 resolution images would be a very good idea. (Due to the internet speed of some users and the already slow loading images..)
