Yup you can simply block a person if you don't like her/his texts very simple. But there are series of messages from Tim to that female which means she is replying to his message and has interest. Its Tim who has to face the consequences now. Even 1 to 2 years cricket is huge as he is included in team very late.

I dont think it will br as easy to make a come back for tim paine as it was steve smith. The first main thing is the age factor steve smith was pretty young but tim paine is not and steve smith and david warner were thr best to batters of the australian team so there was non chance that they get ignored but for tim paine i find it very difficult to make a comeback in the side.

Smith got the punishment for what he along with other players, thats very much justified. Tim was made captain after smith and got involved in another scandal also. Cummins need to be careful not involved himself in any type of scandal. Cummins is somewhat a new Test player, lets see what he do in Ashes.

I am not sure if everyone playing International cricket in the last decade would think about anything like that when hundreds of camera is capturing every move you make and if Smith and Warner was foolish enough to be not aware of that and if anyone did that they will be embarrassed like them. The punishment was excessive but CA is moving away from the aggressive game play for a long time and may be that is the reason they got the harsh punishment.

^^ I think problem pops up when these cricket board follows the holier than thou approach. This incident was old and he was already facing some sort of trials back in 2017-18. CA was completely aware of that as it was internal investigation but they didn't care much as they were in mess too. I disagree with you here. What Smith and Warner did was somethin that was against the laws and regulations from the ICC (still debatable). But Cricket Australia doesn't have any say on the private lives of the players. It is something that the law enforcement authorities need to deal with. Since when cricket boards started to dictate the private lives of their players? And I don't really think that he sent pics to random girls. He sent the pic to someone whom he was having an affair with. I don't know why she leaked those pics.

In Australia laws are strict and equal for everyone, they take every single offense serious. I think CA hasn't asked Tim to step down, it's Tim own decision to step down and take some break. I do agree that there is no such law in cricket rule book that is related to player personal life.

When there is an official complaint, there that would not be a personal any more. But, Tim Paine was judged with minor offence hence the punishments were not severe which included not forcing him to rule out of playing cricket or not leading their side. If the punishments were severe then that would definitely include life time ban from playing cricket as well. So, as long as the full process of verdict is not coming out to limelight we cannot conclude anything on why and how.

I guess Tim Paine must need psychological counselling right now hence not playing for his country must be good decision for him and team. The Ashes are going to be played on Australia hence this kind of things will not bother them the most against the home advantage even in a big tournament.

This time Smith is not in good form and their bowlers are also not performing consistently. On the other hand, England players are in good form. Even their reserve players have proven the mettle. Australia may be having the home advantage, but my guess is that England is having the upper hand. Anyway, I just hope that Omicron won't play the spoilsport this time.
