They may make the play-offs again, but I don't think they can seriously challenge for a top 4 spot in the East right now.

Everyone talks about Lakers and such trades. I feel bad for the OKC. They've been the champs for the season. But after that, it didn't last long and the talks and attention went through the trades that are happening now. They're champs but the celebration didn't took long and the attention that it lingers to most fans didn't last as well.
Same thing happened with the Boston Celtics before. Bronny James' draft got more attention than their championship. Well, people are more interested in drama, and there’s a lot of unexpected trades happening right now. Just look at what the Rockets did, trading Jalen Green for KD just to go deeper into the playoffs. They also traded Cam Whitmore, and now KD will wear jersey number 7. I don’t know if that’s the reason they traded him. LOL. Then there’s the Bucks, who waived Lillard, and surely, more trades are coming.

I totally agree with you on that.... Banchero isn’t a flashy player, but he’s consistent and that’s what really matters in the long run. Give him a few more seasons and more experience, and this team could easily become a championship contender. They’ve got a young core, but there’s enough talent to compete, what they need now is playoff experience and consistency when it matters most. I also get why he secured a supermax contract - he earned it. And with his style of play, he’s less likely to suffer serious injuries, which makes the investment even more solid.

I don’t know if 60 million a year is reasonable for anyone who isn’t a household name, regardless of how good they are. I think it’s a larger problem though. Before it was players like Jordan and Shaq who were going to be billionaires. I bet there are probably 20 guys playing now who will be billionaires, and more than half of them probably couldn’t be recognized by a normal person on the street.

What will happen after that 5 years. He can be a half billion contract if he will play better and make the team a chanpionship contender. For me it is too much to offer just like what Fred VanVleet got. Magic will have a problem for their salary cap in the future which will break their big star line up, remember Wagner and Suggs are good players and can be a superstar too on what they are showin in the Magic games.

To be fair with Paolo, he is their franchise player that's why he was offered this big money. So they just wanted to have him back in Orlando and hoping that when he is healthy and Wagner as well, they can make a deep run in the playoffs. Yes, they could have a problem with their salary cap that's for sure, and so they will have to move pieces as well in the future. And just like any other teams, they are willing to gamble with Paolo and if it didn't pan out then they will have to go back again and rebuild just like any other team. And if you notice, teams are willing to do that, gamble a lot and then just hope that something good is going to happen to them.

And if you notice, teams are willing to do that, gamble a lot and then just hope that something good is going to happen to them.
It’s not just about winning, it’s also about the connection fans build with the team. Take Luka’s situation for example. When he was traded, some fans weren’t happy at all. Many stopped watching the games, and to make things worse, Dallas didn’t even make the playoffs. Teams don’t want that kind of backlash. That’s why they had to lock in Banchero with a max deal. If they didn’t, another team would’ve grabbed him, and that could hurt their fan base and overall market value. It’s the same logic behind why SGA got a massive contract too, these players are not just key pieces on the court, they’re also part of the team’s identity and business model.

Its good steal for Banchero itself but for Magic? their future is uncertain especially that the player they give a huge contract doesn't prove anything yet. Crazy that they give such huge contract while they can use their resources to acquire more quality players that can help their team. But guess I think Magic just want to secure him and it seems they don't care about the future implication of the decision they made. Curious to know if Magic will not fail on this and for sure they might encounter a salary cap issue in future due to this huge contract they give to their star player.

The events that happen during the season attract more attention than the championship, people love gossip. The NBA is no longer like it used to be, no one talks about the team that won the championship for months. A few years ago, the team that won the championship would stay on the agenda for months, everyone walking on the street would know who was the champion. This has not happened in recent years, in previous years if you asked who was the champion, everyone would look up the results on the internet and answer accordingly. When a few valuable players are traded, that becomes the whole agenda. Of course, the money that the players earn attracts a lot of attention

This isn’t something new, we’ve seen many players get massive contracts only to underperform or miss time due to injuries. In fact, if I remember correctly, Durant was given a huge deal by the Nets even though he missed an entire season. So if we’re looking at this from a gambling perspective, it’s definitely a high-risk move. But the difference here is that Banchero is still young and not injury-prone, so in my opinion, it’s a gamble worth taking.

Yummy! Well, he deserves it. He put the Orlando Magic back on the map, and also thanks to his teammates, who have been good role players, especially the Wagner brothers. This is also a young team with a young core. They just need more experience and chemistry, but I bet they will be back in the playoffs again next season as long as there's no bad injury that will happen.

Although that 287M for 5 years is overkill for a rookie contract I do agree with you that he deserves it. Magic becomes relevant even though they only have young player and some veteran player that has low salary. This achievement is thanks to Paolo Banchero leasing this team both offensively and defensively. I believe Orlando Magic decided to all in since they are getting good result despite having young cores. Both Paolo and Magic won on this deal since Magic can secure Paolo until his prime.

In other dumb contract moves… While trying to buy out Bradley Beal’s nightmare contract and having just gave away Kevin Durant for scrubs, the Phoenix Suns are trying to one up themselves by extending Booker at $75 million dollars per year. A reward for him never winning anything… The NBA is lost.

We don’t know for sure yet, but it looks like they’re heading in that direction. They’ve got Jalen Green, who was pretty consistent during the playoffs, but this team doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up missing the playoffs next season. Still, of course, you can’t just let Booker walk, he’s been the franchise player. But $75 million a year? That’s insane.

Because Rockets will advance on the playoffs if Green is consistent on their game against GSW since they already have a very solid Center and PF. I think this is the main reason why Rockets traded him away since they saw that Green is always performing like this whenever they have the chance to go on playoffs. He is good on regular season but choke on playoffs.

I agree about Jalen Green's playoffs performance. He was simply terrible. Only in 1 game he looked impressive and that was all. Maybe he isn't the man for the highest stage or it is just because of his still being young. In this trade between Suns and Rockets I just believe that Rockets is in profit. Getting Kevin Durant is worth it. Maybe he is 36 years old but still can play as a superstar. Logical trade to play bigger for an NBA championship in my opinion.

The Suns actually need to get rid of Bradley Beal and his absurd contract. If they can trade him as well now that Durant is gone, they could create some space in the salary cap. That way, they could rebuild the team around Booker. They don't have an easy job either way, though. There are so many good teams and they don't have much chance to compete.

Banchero deserves it. I also think that it's a gamble for the Magic but they shouldn't let go with their key players, he's also now one of the faces of Magic and that's why he's deserve to get that max contract. I want to see Jalen Green's redemption if ever he's feeling bad about this trade.

In the latest drama. Jokic has informed the Denver Nuggets that he will not be signing an extension with them. That basically puts them in a situation where they have to trade him and will start looking at options now as his trade value will only decline from here. I think he’ll probably play out his current contract either way and then sign where he wants to be as a free agent.

I think this might have more to do with what he'd get signing an extension against how much he could possibly make by waiting until 2026, this definitely isn't case of wanting out of the franchise, bro just want to get what truly deserves.. Denver Nuggets would be very dumb if they're looking to trade him rather hold talks to have him back through the free agency. Except, I'm missing actually getting something wrong here.
