I think that is good that the free practices before the official Championship will start soon but these do not show real team power.We have seen in these practices middle or bottom table teams top up the fastest lap of a day.Still these are good indications of where mid table teams are as I am sure top teams will not go full power here.

@swogerino you’re absolutely correct mate as the big teams will only show flashes of what’s coming, but the mid table teams will try and put on a good show for the viewers.

I hope they are going to improve their strategy this season as well.
They lost a lot of races last year due to the lack of strategy or race mismanagement.

According to Times.co.uk the China's Gp has been removed from the calendar due the coronavirus risks.
They maybe postpone it later on the season.

Yup...  They're just mostly for checking how their car runs on the track and to do some tweaks here and there.  And I guess it's part dog and pony show...?  Fans get to see their favorite teams parading their new cars.

Well as we can see Ferrari and Mercedes look very similar to last year's car.
These cars are only an evolution from the car of 2019 since the technical regulation is not changed at all.

Need to wait 1 more year to see some visible changes.

Anyone saw the live McLaren presentation yesterday?It was hilarious and funny.I liked their new design but the most fun part was when Carlos was asked how did he like the new Mclaren and after responding they asked the same question to Lando.Lando made everyone laugh as always with his response which was that I pretty much designed everything in this car.

Yeah, the hype has died for me on the presentations of cars, they are all exactly the same as the last year.
Esthetically ofcourse.

Need to wait Tuesday/Wednesday can't remember correctly when and the tests will start, this year we will have only 4 days.
The tests will be under TV cover so have fun if you can watch them.

Many fans are expecting Leclerc to be the main driver supported by Ferrari this year based on last year performance and I also agree with that.Vettel it seems has lost his motivation compared to Leclerc and Vettel is also a few years older.I think that Ferrari should be the main competition to Mercedes but I also hope the other teams have increased their game.The test of today of course will not show the full power of the cars.

It's impossibe to make  conclusions from tests results, especially just after first day. So, I can say only one thing - it's good to see Williams improving compared with previous season. Maybe this year they won't be so slow and will be able to compete with teams like Haas.

@coinlocket$ this practice session seems to be a repeat of the last season races where Hamilton was always on the top, and Ferrari was constantly struggling to win the races.

@LTU_btc while I agree with your view point that test results and race results can be completely different, but I have a gut feeling that Hamilton is winning the title again this season, unless Ferrari drivers can perform a miracle and stop him.

Basically, they are moving up and down the steering wheel decreasing the air resistance on the straight and increasing the footprint on turns.


What an innovation if it will be judged positive.

I hope it will be judged positively and I see no reason why FIA should ban it from being used.In fact Formula1 would be much better to watch if they only set a max horse power allowed and let the teams develop their engines in different ways without forcing the development with fixed rules.This way I think we would have a lot more competition.
