On runtime, we can switch between dual/single coin mining using gpu number. Let's say we are dual mining eth + dcr at daytime, at night we press 0 twice to switch to eth only mining.

Miner, still reports hash rate from DCR although it is disabled. My question is about fees. Does it switch to 1% if we switch to single coin mining on runtime?

No, it does not, you should restart miner in ETH-only mode to switch to 1%.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

9.2 claymor now i mine 152 mh ethereum and 4500 mh decret
b4 i mine 168 eth and 2500 decret

how to get back to my old stats?

read the fucking thread

Completely agree!  People, please read at least the last few pages before posting your problems because 95% of the time, the answers are there. Furthermore, how about a bit of patience?  If you would have bothered to read back just a bit, you would know that the slight speed decrease has been acknowledged and the fix is under works for release in the next few days.

However, there are other things to take into account with v9.2. If you are seeing say a 3-5% decrease in your MAX speed, that doesn't necessarily mean your overall average speed is less. In fact, at least for me (and I suspect many others), my effective average h/r is at least as good as v9/9.1.  This is because while my max speed was indeed about 162 for 6x470 on ETH, it would frequently drop down into the low 150's and even low 140's. That means the actual average h/r was more like probably in the low to mid 150's at best.  Now, with 9.2, I only dropped to about 159, but the huge fluxes are gone... drops at worst to like 157.5 but not very often at all.

Similar thing with DCR... yes my rate dropped a bit but i took a look through the log file and didn't see hardly any bad shares... which were hitting a LOT with the previous versions. So again, I submit that the vast majority of people are either at least as good or better with 9.2.

Furthermore... I want to point out that the BIG issue we were all facing (the change to DCR daemon that prohibited us all from mining any DCR) was fixed very quickly, and this was the most important aspect of 9.2 in my mind. To me, getting the added stability is an extra bonus. Even if you are in the minority and seeing a real slight increase to your DCR rate, I'm sure your are still WAY ahead of v8 of just a few weeks ago since v9 has provided about 50% increase to DCR rates.

Big thanks to Claymore for making this a priority and getting the fixes out ASAP!

I'm dual mining ETH and SC on 2x RX480, for me 9.2 is a big improvement. With 9.1 I had to use -asm 0, because of huge hashrate fluctuations. With 9.2 I can use the ASM kernel and get better hashrates for both coins. However for the hashrates to be stable I had to use dcri 22 instead of 26 (not complaining, just writing it in case it helps someone else).

Dual mining for me, each card loses 0.3 mh/s eth, dcr is a bit slow than 9.1 too. Although on "eth only" is so much faster than 9.1. It looks like dual mining has performance issues whereas on eth only is much better.

I would advise anybody to stop dual mining and focus on only eth mode because the performance issues on dual mining is significant.

For me on WINDOWS 10 2 x RX480 ( Modded bios )

9.1 did better for me but I'm happy that I can mine DCR so no complaints for the moment , I have dropped my -dcri to 27 for 60.6MH/s on ETC but did drop the DCR to 1637MH/s from 1760MH/s

Fluctuations are more for me on the 9.2 version than on 9.1 I use to get about 2 or 3 flux @ 10 to 15 min but now 5 to 7 times.

as I'm monitoring per the hour ( ETC only ) 22:20 pm UTC

Reported Hashrate = 60.064 MH/s
Average  effective hashrate = 54.659 MH/s
Current effective Hashrate = 72.167 MH/s

for the last hour ETC =  0.04615

little down but might be the difficulty..

But really thank you Claymore..

Hi guys, I have to thank to Claymore for this new version 9.2, now we can mine DCR again. I just want to report a decrease in Hashrate, around 2% compared to versions 9.0 and 9.1. I assume they are already working to improve that issue. So I am not worried about it.

Thanks again for this new version and the fast support

wtf happen with the people all complaining, let the man work... claymore know what he is doing programming is very difficult
he is making the mining great again lol

@claymore there is a bug where the speed start at max, example 30.3 mh and overtime will slow down to 30 and sometimes 29.8 permanently

v9.2 under linux with ASM enable work very well. Fluctuation is minimal in dual with ASM. Now its very stable.

6xRX480 (mod bios)

ETH 175.5 average with -ethi 16 (I am not sure if -ethi 16 do something but it is there for a while)
DCR 4700 average with -dcri 27 (working with coinmine.pl pool)

Thanks Claymore for your support.

It won't work unless Musiccoin will be added to the devfee mining pools, the best you can do is to turn on "-nofee"

This is a general question to all those people dual mining out there - do you really think it is worth it? Don't you think that you are "frying" your cards and that in the long term any gains you make will be lost when you have to replace GPUs and maybe PSUs and other components which are being run way past the limits they were tested for in "gaming" usage scenarios?

When I dual mine I see a LOT more power consumption (obviously) and a lot more heat (obviously) but I see or feel heat in places and on components that I find a lot more worrisome that when I single mine.

I have heard of people who dual mine with new GPUs and then sell them after only a month or two at a 10-20% discount to unsuspecting buyers on Ebay or similar, then they buy new GPUs. That way they avoid the inevitable consequences of overloading GPUs and pass the damage on the someone else. I think that is a shitty thing to do so I just stick to single mining and keep my cards for a long time.

Am I exagerating the effect of dual mining?

Crypto currency enthusiast and miner since 2015. Mined approx 200 ETH during 2016 and 2017 and sold it at approximately $US40 each. Then I watched it reach $1000+ each. If anyone bothers to read this stuff pay attention to this: HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL

I started mining with 1 AMD 7950 and 1 R9-280X. Then I gradually built my AMD operation into 12 R9-290s. Awesome ETH hash but ridiculous power consumption and heat. Over the last year I defected to the Nvidia team. I now use GTX 1070s. They were expensive to buy (probably a bargain now) but awesome hash rate vs. power consumption. blah blah blah blah

I am dual mining and my RX 470 stock bios (memory clocked to 2000 with MSI Afterburner) stays in high 60s, low 70s on temp and board drawing 100 watts or less. PSU is being used at less than 1/3 it's rated capacity. I don't see any heat issues with my card. Maybe dual mining and over stressing the card with modded bios can be an issue?

I doing eth+dcr on nicehash, getting 40% more btc with only 15% more power usage  vs only eth, 5x rx480 - 810W at wall, all cards 51-54'C, when you have bills to pay every btc matter... yes i fryed 2 cards before , when i did not know how to set up corectly, but was replaced on warranty, did not cost me anything...

Hello, Claymore. Please fix the problem with mining musiccoin on r7 370 2gb. When the miner leaves for devfee, it can not create dag file, because 2 gb vram.

Pair your 2GB cards with 4GB cards in a 1 to 1 fashion and they will then be able to mine the devfee.

I have 5 rigs with 3 2GB 7870XT's paired with 3 4GB 280X cards in each rig and have had no issues.

Dual mining and over-clocking are OK, just make sure you've got enough cooling and if you're OC, lower voltages. There's a lot of bad cards out there apparently due to defective Hynix RAM, dual mining will fry these defective cards within  weeks or days. If you're just casual gaming they'll probably go as soon the warranty expires. Cards with Samsung RAM are good!

I'm getting some unusual results with the new ASM code; 40MH/s ETH + 500MH/s DCR (pool numbers) from an R9 380X & HD7950 on Windows 10 and 95MH/s ETH + 6500MH/s DCR on Ubuntu 16.10 with 5x Rx480's.
