hi guys, have bigg problem, I tried everything to solve problem and noting, have 6x rx480 8gb asus dual(mod bios), use claymore 9.2, driver 16.10.2, have bigg fluctuation, try to change drivers, try to change overcloak, try to change -ethi and -dcri, and same problem GPU activite all time 100% - 0%, and mh/s 30mh/s to 5mh/s ...... plz some help or any idea for this problem .. ??

- do not undervolt
- use asm -0
- use ddu to uninstall the driver
- install 16.11.5

I know you mean well but are offering poor advice.

I undervolt, I underclock, I use -asm 1 and I don't have this kind of issues.

For dual mining, try a DCRI of 24/25, for eth only, i'm using DCRI 4, haven't touched ethi, 6xRX470, stable 171/172 MH/s ETH and 4300 DCR., with asm 1 (default)
With high undervolting and underclocking (4 of my cards are running at 920mV)
And I'm having not many fluctuations, just lost some MH/s from the previous version.

Try to review your settings and drivers, something is wrong there

Whenever DEVFEE works and reloading DAG files, I lose a lot of time to reconnect my work.
I do not mind to pay a fee.
Before this update, I did not lose hashrates,
Now fiddling average 24 hours no longer reaching its maximum.
Before I came to 169/172
Now 155/157

In the image you can see the minimum peak of when DEVFEE works

It does not happen to anyone?

A bit off-topic but avoid MSI like the plague and make sure your RX cards have Samsung RAM only, exchage any Hynix RAM cards before its too late! I'm going on 3 weeks now waiting on MSI for RMA. 100% defect rate on 7 of their cards, even the one armor card had fan barrings go after a week.

I have had more than a dozen MSI gaming X 470+480. Not a single one failed, all except two were Hynix.
On the other hand, out of a similar number of Sapphire Nitros, one failed (ball bearings, screeching sound and on another one fan was making noises, but card was working, so i just had it replaced).

Yeah, I'm not sure what this supposed issue with Hynix RAM is on MSI 400 series. I really wonder if it's people trying to aritficially reduce the demand for the remaining few new ones still in the market so they can hoard them themselves. I personally have been running 21 MSI 470's for between 2-7 months... 17 of the 21 have Hynix and the other 4 have Samsung.  To date, have not had 1 issue with any of these cards, including all 17 Hynix ones. In fact, 4 of these have probably been in use for more than a year as I bought them used from Philima1957. So again, not real sure what's driving a few people to bash Hynix but i have not experienced or heard reliable accounts of any real issues.

AMD doesn't have a reference rx470 it's a bullshit hack made by the card manufacturers and the MSI cards I got are all garbage and I have to RMA all of them, the ones with Hynix ram are non-functional and the Samsung cards no longer work in 32 bit mode. The fan is screwed on the remaining armor card.

You cant say Msi hynix 470 made 1 year ago are as good as msi hynix 470 made 1 month ago. I dont know what MSI managed to fuck up there, but they did.

If all 7 cards that you purchased died, there is a high probability that the problem is not the cards ...

i was using 16.9.2 didnt see significant change. Anyway even if you loose some speed you need 17.4.4 for 570 to work unless you wanna put it on the shelve or in another rig. If not you need 17.4.4

Thanks. I just wanted to know some expierence from someone, who already combined 400 series with 500 series and know his exact results.

BTW today I reflashed all card and created new settings for Wattman. Why? Because I've found my 2 GPUz had soooo many memory errors. It was running good, 3 cards calculated over 88 Mhs with all these errors. Now after I changed everything I have 84 Mhs reported but NO MEMORY ERRORS and 15W less wall power. But also it seems my calculated hashrate on pool will be lower than reported. So I absolutelly don't understand it With errors I've got higher calculated hashrate then reported, with no errors I/ve got lower hashrate. Something strange in my country But I will see after few hours...

AMD's newest driver only support 5 cards, BSOD on the 6th. I tried 6 470s same problem.

Have anyone had any luck getting 6 RX 570 or 580 working on Windows 10? I'm not sure if the older drivers will let me install.

I got a 580 the other day running fine with my 2 480s just used the driver disk which has "driver ver: 13-09(win7/10 64bit)(17.10.1030)" on it

did you mod the bios for those? cause i did. forgot to mention it.
not moded i believe a mix of 470,480, 570, 580 would work. bigger question is how to get a mix of 6 cards running or 6 not mixed cards running while they are modded

all my cards are stock bios, modding isn't something im keen on but I can see the appeal

Once again, you must be doing something seriously wrong to kill that many cards in such a short span.
There is no way you received 7 "defective" cards of multiple models.

Hynix memory RX 470s work just fine, most will do ~1900mhz or so without memory errors, the occasional one will handle a bit higher.

If you cannot figure out what you did wrong, you'll probably end up killing the next batch too.
My suspicion would be some issue with power supply and/or risers.

I have another rx 480 that is at 2250 MHz but the ASUS strix rx 480s are around 2000mhz and I don't know how long that will last. Also, what memory overclock do you guys do. By the way, my cards don't have bios mods. Also I am running the latest claymore with crimson 12.12.2.

I feel like we all are stealing claymore's thread here, but anyway, isn't 2250 too much ? What's  your card's memory vendor?
You should check other threads for bios mods for your card, like memory straps and whatnot, you can probably go here:

It's for a sapphire, but you can get your data/tutorials from there, i'd recommend you to make your custom bios carefully , instead of just "braindead" flashing others's.
For instance, I have 6 rx 470, that haven't worked with anyone elses's bioses but mine so... you get the idea, just read read read, study, and mod it.
Also for the drivers, go for 16.11.5, as 16.12 will not let you biosmod, unless you modify the drivers

My memory vendor for the two cards is Samsung. Its weird that they get outperformed by a the xfx reference card though.
