fine, sad that Obyte don't have own ecosystem  Cry As for milano i doubt it's still work. No news over year

So, they have to keep coming up with same news "we still accept bytes"? That's odd logic.

No ecosystem? What is this then? Do you even have a wallet installed or you keep all your cryptocurrencies on exchange?

Buy Obyte bytes if you want to:
* do P2P sports betting.
* get P2P flight insurance.
* register your username or email, so people could send you bytes more easily.
* take part of weekly lottery draw where you just need to hold bytes, lottery where nobody loses their funds.
* attest your real name to get additional benefits from other bots.
* post polls and vote on polls.
* take part of other ICOs.
* create your own token.
* post data to DAG or write a script and become an oracle.
* buy private tokens and transact with those.
* buy at shops in Milan.

An ecosystem is not only a function but also an end product. Functions are needed to developers. Users need a product. Basically, everything you listed has either a crappy UX, as in the case of
* do P2P sports betting - bad UI, bad odds, low liquidity, limited number of events, currency is constantly losing value
* get P2P flight insurance -  bad UI
or the product is missing, as in the case of
* take part of other ICOs - there is no ICOs.
* buy private tokens and transact with those - there is no usage for private tokens
* create your own token - what for? Another scam? The token must have a value proposition

So, which is it then? No product or bad UI or lack of users?

Sports betting bot is not function, it's product. Additionally to the chat UI, it also has web UI. https://bb-odds.herokuapp.com/
The functions that it is uses are: chatbot, smart-contracts, sports oracle, payments to smart-contract and payments to bot.
If you don't like the odds or the liquidity, offer better ones, it's P2P, so the odds depends what people offer.
There are tons of events available, most events get the odds 2-3 days before the event, but if you think that you would risk to offer some odds earlier then DO IT.

Flight insurance is also not a function, it's a product. It's only as bot. I get it, you don't like chatbot UI, but that doesn't mean it's bad UI.
The functions that it use are the same as Sports betting bot.

There were ICOs, the fact that there is currently no ongoing ones doesn't change that fact. It's a product when somebody makes the ICO and uses also many Obyte built-in functions.

Private tokens can be exchanged on Freebe exchange, that's not a function either, that's a product built using Obyte functions. Nobody cares and knows what people you use those privacy tokens for.

Your own tokens - use your imagination, but I guess you don't have one because you can only criticize others. Seems like you know very well what is good UX, DO IT then.

Again the merchants, merchants, merchants. Getting old already.
Merchants already have currency they are fine with, they accept the fiat currency that's official in your country.
Cryptocurrencies have much more use cases than just trading it for goods.
Blackbytes are meant to be traded P2P, so if one centralized merchant would have most of the volume of blackbytes then it weakens its privacy features.
There are exchanges for bytes and exchange for blackbytes. Convert bytes/blackbytes to whatever currency the merchant accepts.

diyhockey - ok, what for?

Now you got stuck with the "currency" term. Cryptocurrencies are more that just currencies and it takes time before they are more widely accepted than USD, which is not accepted everywhere either.
If you have traveled to other country, that doesn't accept USD, then you should know, this is how even fiat currencies work - if your destination country doesn't accept your candy wrappers, then you exchange it to their candy wrappers in currency exchange.

Sure. Ultimate goal of this exchange is getting access to services. Pay the taxi, buy food, pay rent of room.
If sellers do not accept their national currency, then I do not need it, right? I need currency that they accept.  Otherwise is just a used paper, useless thing.
When you say people can exchange their coins on GBB, i ask what for? Which services can be paid with it?

also why not change the unit of Gbyte to Mbyte ?

i think that's will make this coin become more popular...

the coin missed the good opportunity last year, i hope Obyte can take the opportunity this year!
i still believe in this coin and hope this coin have a big future.

What ever service between 2 people who need privacy, that coin is meant for transaction from person to person, not from person to merchant.

Do you understand that if a person sends value to a person, then he expects to receive value in return? It can be other sov (in case of travel or investing in better sov), goods, services.
Can you show me list of persons (usually they called merchants) who exchange their value (preferably online services, marijuana dealers, electronics distributors) on gbb?

It's not announced yet, which is a new TOP10 exchange.

It's up to exchange to list it as GBYTE or MBYTE, but since it's GBYTE on CMC, all exchanges list it as GBYTE too, to avoid confusion.
If you change GBYTE to MBYTE on CMC then total supply won't be anymore displayed as 1,000,000 GBYTE, but 1,000,000,000 MBYTE.
Also, exchanges are like wholesales, where people trade in bulk, so highest unit makes sense for them.
What opportunity was last year? It's has been over year long bear market and most coin prices follow BTC.

That wouldn't be really private then if I could point to that kind of list. It's up to buyer and seller to agree on the price and medium of exchange. I don't go to dark web, so I don't know where you can find them. Blackbytes is meant more for individual persons transacting with each other, not with bigger merchants. If you still don't get it, you should read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1574508.0

Asking somebody from public chat would not be very private either. I don't know where these people meet.
I have heard that some people make their own one-on-one chats within the wallet app by just sharing the pairing code in some other app. Some even use TOR when doing that.
There is even Private chat room bot where more people can be chatting with other, but I don't know access to these channels either - that chat is readable by developer, but one-on-one chats aren't.

Things are looking bright for Obyte price-wise. Today it is testing price resistance around $40 - $42. If it goes to test $47 resistance, we might really see an end to the long bear market of Obyte.

I have today update for you guys:
- The price chart has still shown good indicators for future growth: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/obyte/
- Volume has been nearly tailed off.
- Current price worths around 5% since the all time high.

I have a suggestion to Obyte team, someone should be in charge to keep the topic clean.
It looks trashy by now.
I love Obyte (former Byteball) and its simplified features.

BIG WINNER!

I have come to understanding that there are few people here who like this trashy feeling because it means that nobody is going to censor them here. Bitcointalk has the same appeal what many cryptocurrencies have, that you can't be censored. I am guessing that's why those people still haven't moved to Reddit, Twitter or Discord.

I did my own analysis what would it have been if I dollar cost averaged my GBYTE investment during last 2 years and the past year has been rough on Obyte investors, but there are positive signs that we will come out of this hole https://twitter.com/tarmo888/status/1108140748346675200

The signature (official or unofficial, I don't know) looks very beautiful.
That guy has worn Obyte signature: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=176920
I guess this one is only adjusted a little bit from old one that used for campaign around one year ago, that I also joined.
So, why not update the OP with new signature codes for Obyte, hence Obyte enthusiasts can wear it to support their favorite coin?

No need to censor the topic, people have the right to speak their mind. Although discussions could maybe be a bit more constructive sometimes.
