Awesome news, thanks for sharing! Could you please share the information here as soon as the new service is available since I am not member on Slack channel?

Marc, I read on Twitter that you are planning to continue to run the Byteball <-> BlackByteball bot and to do so, you are looking for someone who can do the technical part. Did you find someone already? I think GBB is a great tech to stay anonymous it would be bad if there is no way to convert bytes and blackbytes to each other.

Dear users, Great news!
I have found an investor and new owner for freebe: Marc De Mesel‏.
In the coming weeks we will transfer all code and database to freebe’s new server.
Nothing will change for you (except for the new owner).
During the integration phase, the server might be offline for a few hours (I will announce this in advance).
In the coming weeks I will help the new team to support a frictionless transition.
I am very happy that we found a well-known and engaged new owner.
Thanks for all your support! I wish you a happy new year and great holidays!pxrunes

Slack is not only source of news, there is Reddit, Twitter, Telegram, Facebook and newsletter too. Reddit and Twitter probably the best because conversations are properly threaded, so you won't miss the important stuff if you don't visit it every day.

And if you have Freebe bot already added then you should have got that news already via bot.

Hi, help me understand please:

I have a main wallet. I can export its private key through the wallet seed.

I also have a smart wallet created with the Steem Attestation Bot. There are money that I can’t spend until the conditions of the smart contract (1 year of freezing).

My question is:
Does this smart wallet have its own private key? How can I export it separately? (Smart wallet seed?) Do I own the address of the smart wallet that Steem Attestation Bot created?

PS
I know that I can make a full backup copy. The question is not about this now.
I know that money earlier than the terms of the contract will not be fulfilled. Smiley

Thanks for answers.

Smart-contracts (until they are not spent), contacts, private attestation profile data are all private data and only stored in your wallet, so it can't be backed up with seed words, but only with full backup.

Seed words (user friendly version of private key) can restore only data that is on public DAG. When you create a smart-contract then the contract definition is only stored in wallet of both participant side. The definition is posted to DAG only when either side spends from that smart-contract because that's when other nodes need to validated if the transaction is valid.

So, it doesn't have separate private key and cannot be exported separately, it just doesn't have all the public data in DAG when created. Restore from full backup and create full backups after every time you create a smart-contract/multi-sig/attestation that you can't afford to lose.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I'm just starting to understand how a byte ball works.

Help me to understand.

Why is the address of my smart contract (in which money is stored with Steam attestation) completely identical with my usual address and also visible in the blockchain if it is private information?

That is shared address (based on hash of smart-contract definition) and you can see who deposited bytes to that address on explorer, but the definition is only in your and bots wallet. Definition is private only until somebody spends from it, so until you have not withdraw bytes from smart-contract to your actual wallet, others can't see what are the conditions of the smart-contract, this private info becomes available on Explorer when you have withdrawn (1 year from attestation) or bot has withdrawn (2 years from attestation).

If you see the smart-contract address in your Receive tab then it probably means that you have selected the sub-wallet (smart-contract), you need to click the down arrow after wallet address and select your main wallet to see or spend from your main wallet.

And what else does that shared address (based on hash of smart-contract definition) do?

For example, in my smart wallet 5 GB frozen for a year.

Can I use this smart wallet in Weekly Draw? Or is it theoretically impossible?

Sooo happy to hear that. Without an easy to use user friendly service like freebe Blackballs would have eventually slided into oblivium. I am still quite optimist about Blackbytes having success on the long run. There is simply NO asset with such degrees of PRIVACY in the whole cryptoland. In fact, it is so private that most people still ignore it exists.

That would be cool, but I don't know if it's possible because if that smart-contract is between you and steem attestation bot then draw bot has no idea what this address is about until somebody withdraws from it. Maybe it could guess that it's locked reward address by who funded it, but I am not sure.

Do you know anyone who can help us figure it out?

The idea can be really great and can help more users participate in Weekly Draw.

If I try to add my smart wallet to the Weekly Draw, I cannot sign the message that I own this wallet. (When I try to make a transfer from this wallet is not the same as signing a message?). Or how to sign a message with a smart wallet forcibly?

Hello!

I have a supposition that some refers are abusing Weekly Draw!

There are refers who invite only attested users and this users immediately deposits exactly 10 GB. (Strange? They at least need to check.)

Detailed example of suspicious activity:
refer: wgf90cxkyv
total points: ~120

Surface analysis revealed suspicious activity: ~300 points (>more than 10% chance to win)

I apologize if I hurt the feelings of real referrals. Such activity seems suspicious. It needs to be checked.

OK!

Please answer two questions:
1. I am an STEEM referrer and I am interested in: are you going to reward users who have registered after July 12?
Half a year has passed since the launch of the bridge and many people were registered after this date, and gain the necessary reputation now. These users will not be rewarded anyway and their refer too. Smiley
2. Can I use BYTES frozen in a smart contract with steem attestation bot or real name attestation bot in Weekly Draw? Is it technically possible and are you going to add such support?

Thank you very much for your reply, with interest in your product.

Dude. You're fucking quoting the only dev/community member that matters thanking someone for technical assistance and the other person's response with more technical questions. There's literally no spam on this thread besides you. You're either an idiot or an idiotic bot. I'm going to guess idiotic bot as that seems to be byteball's forte.

Ahh. Nice to know some people are still actually reading. Anyhow, Byteball community no longer uses this thread, just Slack and Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/ByteBall/comments/9yfbvt/i_am_tony_byteball_founder_and_lead_developer_ask/

Cheers mate and have a lovely day!  Grin

Nor for me. It's fine to promote Reddit, slackand the other mediums, but there's no reason to lie about who is and isn't reading and replying on this thread. So don't, please.

1. Not yet, there are still high chances of fraud and new accounts pose the most risk.  Anyway the min rep that qualifies for reward is now 55 and it is very unlikely to organically achieve such rep within 6 months.
2. Unfortunately you can't.  The contract address can't sign a message before it vests.

For the weekly draw, the bot wants me to sign a message confirming that I own an address.  But when I click on the request to sign message, it signs it with a different address (I have bytes in 2 different addresses).  How can I sign the message with my other address?

For the weekly draw, the bot wants me to sign a message confirming that I own an address.  But when I click on the request to sign message, it signs it with a different address (I have bytes in 2 different addresses).  How can I sign the message with my other address?

What address is that? A change address or just another the wallets in the app? Just select the wallet you want to add from the burger menu and then select "Insert my address" from the chat "..." button. It is easiest to do that with single-wallet address because on multi-address wallets, you need to add a new address every time you spend from that wallet because change is sent to your new address. So, if you use multi-wallet address, it makes sense to send all to your current address on "Receive" screen.

I mean another address in the same wallet.

Is there a general interface that lets me sign any message, with any address that's in my wallet?  The only interface I've seen is in Chat, when the bot sends me a "Request to sign" message, and clicking on that doesn't let me pick the address used to sign it.

I guess a workaround is to send everything to a single address, but I'm surprised that there isn't a general message signing interface.
