Yes, but I know a few guys got 36 boards from the first frank-jup batch and now don't have anything to lose by making them working.

My October Jup is dying  - every now & then it stops hashing and says pool URL invalid in PuTTy.

a few reboots/restarts/curse words later and it usually gets back down the shaft

but its happening more often and requiring more effing about to get it back hashing.

in fairness it could do with a scrub - but that can wait.

how about them refunds?

Dead die?

This is an October Jupiter that's been running from 24/7. Noticed I have a dead die. I already increased the SPI voltage all the way up to 3.3V and it wouldn't kick it on. Then I slowly increased the individual die voltage to the MAX, which is +.1465. Didn't awake up the die either. Is there anything else that can be done to kick this die on?  I would really thought that the rig would last a lot longer then 8 months.

Try turning the overclocking off?

How do you turn overclocking off? Give the module no air and suffocate it?

It is not the die, it is your VRM not starting up.

Try to reboot a few million times and if still does not start up, you will need to change the VRM module.

There is some way also to wake it up soldering bypass resistors, but then will be no controllable from your GUI anymore.

Oh hey, that sounds like fun! Everyone should break out the soldering gun rather than RMA. Smiley

Or rather, they should just live with the defect because trying to fix it isn't cost effective... at all.

Wake up people! Anything that doesn't gain you at least 1 THs these days isn't worth you worrying about. Things have changed drastically over the past few months. Worrying about 160GHs is a waste of your time and effort.

It is not a waste of time, it is expected to work regardless how much hashing it can do.

Maybe their hardware is really not as good as everyone said it was. Their products are only around 8 months old.

they have sticky tape on them..just put them on the bottom where the vrms are...idk if they'll fit back into the case that way cause i don't use a case anymore...dropped my temps just taking them out lol

pretty similar - both begin with big promises and a webwide marketing campaign

though KnC had the upper hand with their in house fan girl/cheerwhore who mysteriously and ominously went silent.

Both companies give off the impression they are doing the best they can but that seems impossible in reality as its just an outward impression, not based in fact.

if i was a rich man i think i would be ready to go legal with them both now, but as im sure they are both aware, the majority of their investduhs are actually just regular guys with no real power behind them.

which leaves us with little alternative but to wait wait wait, and occasionally send emails that are either ignored (CT) or replied to with generic cut n paste answers that mean very little (refund in a few days, a month ago) (KnC)

if was the incredible hulk, i would have smashed both of their factories to pieces this week

what would really rub salt in the wound would be of they combined forces (KnCT.Gox)

i dont consider myself greedy, but i want my money back qand i wanted it back pretty much the day i asked for it - not 1-3 months later , maybe....

but then this will probably be deleted as well so perhaps i should send all the other scammers money as well....

fkn zeusminer anyone??

or that industrial plug monstrsity....

notice how their blatant thievery posts dont get deleted...

collude much??

This makes me nervous, I have an October Jupiter too. Is yours OC'd or otherwise modded?

Nope - its as standard.

i have OC'd it in the past but now its more likely to cause it to freak out (URL invalid bullshit) so i just let it run as is.

The November rig has none of these issues, and both OCT & NOV are more stable than the newer S2s which freak out almost every day.

Did you upgrade to Firmware 1.01 ?
Maybe Firmware 1.01 was made to break Octorber/November miners.
