Is because the name "Bitcoin" is the best name for a crypto-currency.
No other name will be as good.
because all exchanger fiat money crypto-curency, only accepted bitcoin can withdraw to real money except several exchanger support litecoin and ethereum all altcoin need bitcoin, becase without bitcoin altcoin user can't exchange to fiat money , real money so bitcoin still the best, until now another coin never replace bitcoin Yes and I don't see any competition to bitcoin at a moment and some of the altcoins are good but they don't have that high power to replace bitcoins as bitcoins can be easily converted to fiat money which is not possible with any altcoin at a moment. |

Are you kidding me? There are very few people who are using bitcoins at a moment and rest have not even heard about bitcoins so how can you expect that they will have more faith in bitcoins in compare to fiat currency try to post something that is logical. More than one is few, more than few is many  . Well we can say minority of the percentage of people trust Bitcoin more than fiat since they are already converting their fiat currency into Bitcoin specially those who are escaping the devaluation of their currency. I think why bitcoin is still number one because of its high price. Bitcoin is only crypto currency reach the $1000 up and I think that is one reason why bitcoin number one. I think also why bitcoin is on the top because of the million user , million investor, thousand or hundreds partners or even the project. Bitcoin will still number one to my heart and I hope this coin will live long so we can help other people to earn money.

I think altcoin is a factor, the presence of altcoin create a bitcoin be # 1, they will be the promotion of coins to new users and pay with bitcoin thus helping bitcoin popular.
I do agree that it is one factor. Altcoins are making bitcoin to look more valuable. If one new investor is on its way to invest in an altcoin then sees the future of bitcoin also then there will be a chance that he will turn into a bitcoin investor also. There is nothing more better in making bitcoin number 1 than addinh more users into it. Adding more demands in the process. Altcoins help bitcoin, but bitcoin helps altcoins too, bitcoin has proved that the concept of a crypto currency is possible and now the rest of the coins are cashing on this knowledge by getting way more investors they could have gotten since bitcoin keeps going to strong after almost 10 years. This is right. It is a symbiotic relationship for Bitcoin and Altcoin. They benefit from each other. But sad to say, there are cammers that rides in the popularity of Bitcoin and Altcoins. They used the opportunity to con people by creating new coins and then when lots of people invested, they will leave the development of the coins. It is sad but you are correct, scammers have taken the opportunity offered by crypto currencies and decided to create their own projects that are nothing but hot air and have no future or development and the investors lose money at the end. |

For me bitcoin will always be number 1 because of its benefits and advantages to all users. Its more valuable because of its price that leading as cryptocurrency. Demands is being growing daily that people are attracted into bitcoin.

That is a really important factor why people actually love bitcoin. The prise is rising every time when demand increases significantly, because the supply is not going to change. So every year we can see more and more new users going into the blockchain network, that results as a small price increase, if there are enough new people to make some influence on the market. However we have many of its advantages also available in other cryptocurrencies, and some of those are even upgraded, or better than that. For example, Monero is way better if it comes to being anonymous, which may be why many people prefer it than BTC. |

I think it doesn't depend to the name of the currency but the features and the things that you can get benefit when you use it. Bitcoin is very first cryptocurrency that really created and launched in the market and some of its features made itself a very popular cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is the first and also built a huge reputation and a very strong market so that is why it is the #1 cryptocurrency in the market right now. |

Maybe because it's the first cryotocurrency that become successful and many people only bitcoin and so many alternative coins are being created and only bitcoin become the most demand.

No other name will be as good.
Having a good brand is always important. Ethereum is a good name as well,and i don`t like monero... Anyway i don`t think that the name is the number 1 reason why btc is the biggest cryptocurrency. |

Maybe in the future some other cryptocurrency will appear, with good potential but at the moment Bitcoin is the most established and the most adopted cryptocurrency with real value that could be used in real world and with possibilities for further development. That is the reason why it's number one and why it will be hard to take it's place.

I agree with the name in part because it's become a household name and any time cryptocurrency is mentioned Bitcoin comes to mind. It's been that associated with cryptocurrency and the two go hand in hand. But I don't think it's the name alone but the way it's carried itself (i.e. defeating all propaganda) over the period has made Bitcoin the premier and obvious choice for a cryptocurrency. |

As you said Bitcoin is more than a name, and the currency success can be explained because the high change in the price since it was created, it's true, but I would like to add Bitcoin was also the first Crypto Currency created, and only after more currencies came, so the Bitcoin got more enthusiasts and prooved to a good currency (worthful), when the another currencies came, it was already too late as they don't offer any new feature that BTC doesn't have. |

Even if we can call bitcoin as a "king" then it has not necessary to be the number one through the history of cryptocurrencies usage. I think that many of altcoins may also have great usage in future, but society is still not ready on such a changes. I hope that a lot of things are going to mix up, and we will be able to see a goverment that accepts bitcoin or any other altcoin as a one of the way to make a settlements. Or just follow the steps of the Japan: adopt the bitcoin in the country. In my opinion all of that may give great results, but for nowadays, I doubt we can expect to see any altcoins that will overcome bitcoin. |

Well sure, Bitcoin does have a cool name but like others have said I'm sure there are many cooler names than Bitcoin and also there are many other reasons for it being number 1.
Firstly, Bitcoin is the main decentralized coin. Also the amount of people using is really great and again the price can rise to millions. Also it is a coin that many people trust and it is now really easy to purchase items with the coin. Back to the idea of it being a cool name, I really agree with that!. Bitcoin sounds high tech and futuristic which it will hopefully be.

Yes, even those who do not use it know about bitcoin. Very few people know about alternative coins. Bitcoin is a leader who has already taken his throne and there is no reason for bitcoin to give up this place |

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, the name of bitcoin is irrelevant as long as it was not something offensive any name would have been good enough, the important thing is the technology behind it and the support given by the community. |
