Greed, impatience & lust for profit can often temporarily blind people to reality, causing them to wander around from pool to pool in search of faster & greater profits, until eventually their vision has cleared & it becomes clear that not only are there no fast profits to be made in mining, but also that p2pool is the highest paying pool there is anyway. See you soon Chupacabras Patman, I never said this is not the best pool. It is just dry cause of the users hoping habits. I will be back when i see stability. Thanks. if your looking for stability wrt payout, you will always earn less than you could

Thanks. if your looking for stability wrt payout, you will always earn less than you could 5 more days and difficulty changes. Odds are it'll be increasing. If p2pool hasn't found a block by then, a whole difficulty increase will be missed. That will surely put a dent in your earnings. M

It wasn't that long ago that someone stated here something to the equivalent that most miners won't tolerate a week long block on p2pool.
I do think this is the beginning of the end of p2pool.
M
M, what happened dude, you were a beacon of hope in this community when I joined it, it seems as if you have soured as of late These kind of posts remind me of http://bitcoinobituaries.com/As long as there are 2 P2Pool nodes with some hashrate P2Pool will not die. Currently there are 347 miners mining on at least 86 nodes. Yes, we have lost (for the time being) 2 major miners, but I would prefer to see this as an opportunity and not "the end". What does the lower hashrate mean? It's a great opportunity for smaller miners to come back to P2Pool. It's a great opportunity for larger miners to jump in a get a bigger share of the block reward. For me, the principles P2Pool represents are too important to allow to die. P2Pool is still the only decentralized, trust-less mining pool.It has no single point of failure. It has no centralized authority. It requires no registration. It pays directly from the generation transaction. P2Pool, in my opinion, is still the best thing in mining since slush developed the pooled mining concept. I can't speak for the other 346 miners who have stuck around during the worst streak of luck I've seen in the pool, but the reasons above will keep me mining on P2Pool. The only thing that is certain about luck is that it will change. P2Pool has historically paid out better then any other pool, and I'm confident that it will continue to, although currently at a higher variance. Ultra Vires.

M, what happened dude, you were a beacon of hope in this community when I joined it, it seems as if you have soured as of late As I've said before ... I like the idea of p2pool. But it has fatal flaws. Anyone who's okay with 1+ week blocks is welcome here. For everyone else, which is the majority of miners who are barely scraping by, I can't see it happening. I can't afford to go weeks on end without a block... I left a number of days ago. M

You know how they say that if you get enough monkeys and give them all keyboards they'll eventually reproduce the complete works of William Shakespeare? Well, I thought I'd put that to the test...
So I imported a bunch of monkeys. Had to pay off a few customs guys to look the other way. Gave them all keyboards and let them have at it. While they didn't produce any Shakespeare, they did manage to come up with a valid solution for the block. Unfortunately for me, they want to keep it to themselves and every time I try to get it I'm bombarded with flying poo. Ungrateful little simians...

But you don't know how long bad luck will last going forward only afterwards. Even the large pools have a bad luck streak with little to no pay, so that leaves you with PPS to get an even payout and must pay a fee. But you lose out on any good luck and payouts that come with it, which sometimes is the only fun part out of this whole mining adventure.

I know, and for all of you, i never said that this is not the best pool or paying pool there is. All i did it make a suggestion and i got fire from the best hoppers here, and again this pool is not hop proof. If you get people to stay, we be rolling on money as we were a few months ago. I still have my node on, some of my miners here and ill be honest not all of them and not the fastest ones. I made a bigger investment to make more money in P2pool cause i saw the potential. But the way its going i will not have money to pay my light bill if i continue here in p2pool. im praying that the luck get better or the dev does something to keep miners here like a suggested.

P2pool isn't fixable. It needs to be re-written. p2pool also uses PPLNS. That means it's hop proof. M

Will I leave P2Pool probably not. I will run a node because it does not cost a thing to do it. I just look at bitcoin like a investment and with this luck rate one must be multi diversified. Not all hashing power on one site. Yes I am still hashing on p2pool just enough to keep making $$$ when blocks are found. But bills have to be paid, So yes I mine on other sites as well. And will move hash power around as i see the most efficient at the time.

Now that Chupacabras, literarily meaning Goat's sucker is back, it is understandable why p2pool does not find a single block. Get the f**ck out Chupacabras and suck your ass. I am out until Goat's sucker sucks his ass! Get out Chupacabras f***cker! Go suck your ass! Chupafucker!
This is uncalled for. Creating an account purely to insult people - reported to moderators & ignored, I suggest everyone else do the same. Let's not degenerate this thread & p2pool's reputation to that of "other" pool threads.
