July, RMC first announced their plans to build mining hardware and hold the ICO. The company reportedly houses chip manufacturing, equipment production including the assembly of the finished hardware, and mining, all within the 220,000 square meter Technopolis facility.

The presentation mentions two new mining hardware devices, with the largest called the “Sunrise s11i.” It further claims that it is a 16-nanometer design and is now the most powerful mining rig on on the planet in terms of hashing power, with the “Best [Return On Investment] in its class,” consuming between 2.3-2.5 kW.

Available in September 2017, RMC’s document explains, the new rig costs RMC US$1,600 per unit to produce and will deliver 22.6 Th/s of mining power. Of this, 18 Th/s goes to “the physical owner” while 4.6 Th/s goes towards paying a “joint mining club,” presumably token owners and RMC.

The leading competitor, from Chinese manufacturer Bitmain, is called the Antminer s9, and costs around US$2,500 for only 14 Th/s. However, the s9 does so more efficiently, with a consumption of only 1.3 kW of energy. Nonetheless, RMC claims that S9s offer a Return On Investment of 12 months, while there S11i is profitable in only 5.  

The company states that one of their goals is acquiring market share from Chinese producers, “and their centralization.” Their neighbors to the south currently dominate the markets for both mining chip manufacturing and mining pools. For instance, all of the top six Bitcoin Mining pools are currently located in China. These pools and several smaller ones in the country represent well over 70 percent of the total Bitcoin hashrate, and the vast majority of their mining hardware was made by Beijing-based Bitmain Technologies.

Of course that's for SHA-256 but as Bitmain has shown if you can design ASICs for Bitcoin you can make them for Scrypt and X11 too.

Much easier to write about an operation of this magnitude than to execute it. I doubt you will see this threat materialize in reality for some time. In other words, " easier said than done". Russia's never done it and they plan on manufacturing the units. Yeah, good luck. Not that easy. In the meantime, the good ole USA sits with it's head in the sand, wringing our hands and worrying about " regulating it". Reminds me of the guy looking the wrong way down a one way a street and gets mowed down by a truck.

Bitmain has also shown that they can take down pretty much any competitor... thus their near-monopoly in all things mining.

In other words, I'll believe it when I see it. I'd like to see some honest competition against Bitmain but I'm not holding my breath.

yes it is. Running in a data center with air-conditioning will bring the temp to around 60 degrees. If you run them in your living room they will go to 70 and most likely stay at that temp

Depends on how much you pay for the hardware. If you buy at release price from Bitmain, you should be fine, if you pay 2,3 4 X the release price from 3rd party, you will not make money. This is not a get rich quick proposal. It's a slow and steady race. Some folks get windfalls by capturing 1st and 2nd batches but that is pure luck and short lived.

Exactly. Either buy a batch when it's first released and wait the ~60 days for it to be released, or buy it from a place like eastshore.xyz where you can get the latest batch for a price very close to the original price.

If you buy an in-hand L3+ from eBay that you could receive tomorrow, you will pay $8,000 for it and never make ROI. Have patience, buy the later batches, and wait. $8,000 to receive the miner tomorrow, or $2,500 to receive it in 60 days? The correct answer is clear.

hey guys, does anyone have issues when mining on nicehash? I seem to have hashrate dropped to 0 on some of my L3+ and then only way to recover is to power cycle them.

Yeah NiceHash is doing that a lot with mine to. I switched. I found using a more reliable pool  H2C or Litecoinpool.org gives me the same if not better payout compared since it is not breaking down all the time and I save time not checking all the time and working instead.

Guys, do you have problems with any of your L3+ hashboards? Second hashboard shows different number of chips (2 or 20 but not 72) and has only "xxxxxxx".

Warning: NiceHash is not good, and not profitable dont use it, Its only shows profit in Calculator but actually its not good to better profit.
