It's fine...3.5 were achievable when N factor was 14.

Again, we can't predict exactly where the difficulty ends up right? It could be more or less when it settles. You assume the exact same miners from prior to the NFactor change. I say more, new miners will jump on board--optimism.
I think you're overly optimistic - with the way the hashrate fell for all cards that aren't 4GB cards, I would make you a gentlemans wager that we're going to see it below 50% what it was a week ago (1.08k per the mining software, 0.0164 difficulty).  If we settle above 500/0.0763 I would be shocked.  My best cards dropped 60%, my worst 70% and   I'm going to hypothesize that all CPU's dropped by 50%.  So, unless, as you say, there is an influx of new miners, a 60%+ drop in difficulty should not be a surprise.

If your assumptions pan out, the price will have to drop significantly from where it is now or the profitably per R7 240 4GB (and lots of CPUs btw) will be pretty significant. All likely scenarios seem pretty good for me, so I'll bet you 1000 YAC that now until Sunday (midnight EDT) difficulty never drops below 500... Smiley

Accepted.  I honestly think it will go my way, but it's not a sure thing.

WindMaster, can you point your massive mining operation at YAC until Monday?!? I'll give you 500 YAC Smiley

No, most of the farm is made up of 1GB Radeon 5850 and 6950 cards that kinda suck for mining YAC at the current N value.  The coin we're currently mining is still profitable, and our operating costs to run the farm are pretty high (in the 4 figures per day), so...  Smiley

I'm trying to figure out if I should stop mining YAC to make it drop even more, but I don't think I need to do anything different.

May I ask what you mine with your 5850 and 6950 these days?

I have 2 of each and their power to hash ratio is just too bad.

Why do so many people not like profit? I'm going to research what is the most profitable CPU-friendly coin with my i7-3770S and lowwww-end pentium G3220...

(EDIT) I read the i7-3770 gets 511khash/s on X11. It gets 410 hash/s on YAC. YACoin is the most profitable, looking at www.whattomine.com !

uTC guys are whack...

I'll still mine and dump it if it gets to n factor 14 anytime soon.

What about merge mining monero or others with fantomcoin Beave?
That HAS to be the most profitable cpu coin...even with Christian's monster nvidia miner out there.

Another thing I love about this yacoin community... someone is always on top of new developments. I guess I have to wait for this fantomcoind to synchronize? Are you merge mining fantomcoin, ivan? I'm wondering best way to calculate profitability with it.

Let's say the block reward settles and YAC is by far the most profitable. One would think that would garner some (newfound) serious attention and interest...

Yacoin is far easier to setup than cryptonight, and the publicly available gpu miner software is fair and free for all to use, unlike the private gpu miners which are far more optimized compared to the publicly available one for monero and co.

Although monero is an interesting alt, the algorithm makes it 100% botnet prey.

I haven't set up fantomcoin merge mining yet, I won't until you can gpu merge mine...don't have enough cpu power for solo mining it vs 999999999999999999 aws instances and a gazillion botnets.

Anyway, I vote for awesome girlfriend, Morpheus and the rock.  Also, for 4th place, the one I did Smiley

Difficulty is now 503, so... I just want to claim, and highlight, that I barely lost that bet! Smiley

BTW I will give anyone 5 5770s (various makes) for 30,000 YACoin. Offer invalid at the end of the month due to price fluctuations and all. Standard shipping to continental US included. You can mine myriadcoin-groestl which I am a big supporter of as it one of only a handful of coins that is innovative. Over 5 khash/s for Nfactor 13 coins and about 3.3 for Groestl (6.6 for myriad-groestl). Check out www.whattomine.com for profitability.

Please vote for your favorite meme in the finals of the 10,000 Meme Contest!

http://forum.yacoin.org/index.php?topic=664.0

Here are the top 3 memes that are guaranteed to be 'in the money'. This final round of voting will decide how many YACoins each submitter receives.
Just vote for your ONE top favorite. Voting ends on June 15th at which time the bounties will be paid to the respective finalist.
1st place: 10,000 YAC
2nd place: 4,000 YAC
3rd place: 2,000 YAC
