Ok so I need to clear things up with an example...
Ameritrade is an online brokerage account. Let's say there is a glitch in their trading system that causes 1000 people to lose their money. Of the 1000 people, let's say most of them had too little money stolen for them to make a big fuss about it ($50 or less let's say). However, 100 of them had $5000 or more and each one of them found that to be significant enough to make a big deal out of it. Ameritrade says that those customers actually owe Ameritrade money because their glitch wasn't Ameritrade's fault, and Ameritrade takes more money out of those customer's accounts to cover their losses and try to continue business with other customers and so forth.
Ameritrade would OBVIOUSLY be found guilty, liable and then be sued, arrested, shutdown. And it will be on the top news story for how STUPID they are in thinking what they did was justified. I guarantee you NOT ONE person reporting the story will say they are still a reputable company because lots of other people have used Ameritrade for years and nothing bad ever happened to them. NO ONE will go on the news and suggest that the people who got SCAMMED must be just unlucky. Theoretically 99.9% plus of their customers could be fine!
It is important to hold exchanges like BTER accountable. I am closely watching Cryptsy as well. You think more companies that operate like MtGox will be good for bitcoin and crypto as a whole? There is a free-market mechanism we can use to hold exchanges accountable and that is to spread the word and boycott. It would be great to have more competition--like another exchange that has YAC/BTC.
Please, please don't give BTER any once of credence just because you haven't been scammed... yet.

Any news regarding yacointalk?
Now explorer.yacoin.org is not operational (throwing errors). And it looks like yacoin was removed from coinmarketcap.com (possibly due to new cryptos flood).
As for Cryptorush it seems to me there is automated voting going on (or someone is clicking like crazy). This is not how I imagine successful cryptocurrency rise.

Any news regarding yacointalk?
It has a message saying it would go away on 3/2/2014. The operator also runs a couple pools that have had problems and have disappeared as well. Honestly, if it doesn't come back, I wouldn't be surprised. Now explorer.yacoin.org is not operational (throwing errors).
Message Sairon - that shouldn't be the case... As for Cryptorush it seems to me there is automated voting going on (or someone is clicking like crazy). This is not how I imagine successful cryptocurrency rise.
You can click like crazy or buy votes with BTC - Seems like a pretty good model (for them) for figuring out what to add.

Hahaha YACCoin... at least they don't even try to cover up the fact that it's a clone I suppose. Regarding yacointalk, I have talked to the admin a few times in the past and he seems genuine, so I don't think there is any intentional fraud going on. Maybe some personal matter came up? Anyway, hopefully he gets everything back up soon. If the forum is not working within the next few weeks, I will start another one. As for the explorer, I'm sure sairon is working on it. The explorer being down would also explain it being down on coinmarketcap. In other news, I have made some progress on getting the stake function to Qt and hope to have something up to testing within the next few days.

This coin has a lots of potential, imho, and the developers and community behind it does help. Anyone else looking forward to those scrypt asics showing up in droves? hint: loads and loads of high end used r9 270 2gb/7950/7970/r9 280x/r9 290/290x cards for sale, for peanuts...

I posted this on YACoin Talk too...
I'm interested in setting up a faucet for YAC - but I don't know where to begin. Does anyone have any experience starting one? And would be willing to give me a hand?

marked transaction/coins never showed up. for another test, i sent some yac on the same address, and they showed up. also, when i sent theese proves to crapsy support team, they said that they can't see attached files or open links Your support e-mail should include the following: Coin Amount Withdrawn Withdrawal address approximate time UTC Transaction ID point out that the transaction does not show up on the blockchain, and was never received. Sorry you're having trouble with Cryptsy, however, there is nothing anyone in this thread can do about it as we are not Cryptsy.

Just a quick update. The Qt stake function is taking a bit longer to finish than I expected. I thought I had it ready last night, but I found a potential problem and am reworking. So, rather than set an exact time frame, I will instead set a time frame of, I'm still working on it...

So, rather than set an exact time frame, I will instead set a time frame of, I'm still working on it... Thanks so much, Joe. I have been researching other scrypt-jane coins, and I must say they are mostly pretty disappointing. Also, as far as I know, YAC will be the first one to hit N=15, and it will soon be the only POS/POW to have a gucci qt for POS thanks to Joe_Bauers. I absolutely love this community. Thank you so much. The only blackeye are these exchanges. I obviously can NEVER trade on BTER, but I am weary of Cryptsy even though I haven't been scammed... yet! Vote frequently on crypto-rush.in. I am not endorsing that site. It changed how many votes bitcoin can buy (moving the goal posts in the middle of the game!). But it has lower fees, and competition is always good--even if it is choosing degrees of corruptness. Besides, now every non-bribed vote is worth more on crypto-rush, so even if it takes 2 months, it is worth voting and voting often.

In less than two weeks I will get paid by the pool. After I get paid, if someone sets up a yacoin faucet I will contribute 100 YACs to the faucet. The faucet has to be reasonablly resistant to faucet mining and pays no more than 1 yac / reward.
Oh, has anyone tried to convince vircurex to carry YAC?
