if you look at the performance of the other IPOs (Lab, Active, Basic), you see the future of Garden. Down, down they go.
So, basically, you have a spike right after IPO, then it is down hill from there.
Yeah, I am not trading my AM shares for that ridiculous nonsense. You will see these investors come back to AM once news is released about new revenue.

whats up with the price drop now? People have limited bitcoins. If you want to invest in (yet) another start-up, you've gotta get the coins from somewhere. Now if only there was a way to make coins yourself I believe that's called a "day job", where you earn fiat and then convert to BTC.

I've heard ther's a "day job" involving plugging funny bits of hardware into your computer and apparently these new-fangled bitcoins come out the other end somehow. No idea if it works or not. Sounds like a scam

Well if you consider AMC as part of Active, didn't they IPO at 0.0006 on bitfunder? That's a 10-fold increase, so I wouldn't call the performance going down... Lab has been going down, but it is still 80% higher than IPO prices.

I don't consider them the same, and I look at post-IPO prices, where the market is able to value a security. Every single one of these has a down trend. Saying they are up from their IPO price makes you feel better, but they have all peaked, and are falling back down.

Lol. "All of these IPOs are on downtrends." Yeah that's due to speculation on a bunch of businesses that have delivered:
a) nothing or b) very little
That's hardly evidence to argue they're a poor investment. By that logic AM would have been a dumb investment. (which is obviously not the case). Only one of them has to produce something fruitful and it will be a different story. AM is going to have some competition from one of the aforementioned 'ridiculous nonsense' challengers sooner or later.
Goodluck with your tunnel vision goals.

well, if we go by past experience, very few of these turn into challengers, and if they do, it will be several months from now. And even if they do happen to be the 1% that becomes a real player, they have to compete with AM, so their top end will never be like AM. Everyone is valuing these securities like they will one day be AM, but they won't. In any case, they got their pumps, and then the dumps happened. And now, their value continues to drop. They are not a wise investment right now, actually. If you want to invest in them, wait for the bottom, don't buy close to the top (right now). Owning AM shares will hold value better than buying any of these other securities right now.

They are really overvalued for the risk/reward.
I'm not even sure one of them will have meaningful dividends compared to the IPO price.

Now the IPO mania is over (and the new competitors still have months to deploy their ASICs), so we could expect slow grow of ASICMINER price back to BTC4.5, I think.

http://www.asicminercharts.com/live/Charts are already showing a nice dividend (scroll down). In the past week predictions were always lower than actual payout if I'm not mistaken. It seems strange by the way, since this week usb sells should be lower than average. As i know, dividend prediction does not include sales at all - so it's just the mining revenue

The predicted sale dividends are calculated by adding up the coins in the addresses that ASICMINER used before to accept payments.

I'm very impressed that AM has been able to increase it's hashing power in somewhat lock-step with the network hashrate. It's at a 24h average of ~60GH, which would have blown us out of the water 2-4 weeks ago.
Looks like a significant increase in just the past few day for the network overall.

it seems like they are getting some of the issues sorted out with the mining operation, and I expect the new hardware will be quick to follow. In fact, some of the new hash rate might be new hardware, which means FC will likely start selling it, soon.
