BTC is used by criminals Just like fiat currencies and any other asset..lots of people like to put bitcoin under a bad light because of its possible use in the illegal environment..
but i disagree..as i said btc is an asset/currency and it can be used for any kind of purposes..

in my opinion bitcoin worn bad people or not contained how the person uses it .... example in my country is excited by runsomeware case where when our computer virus then our computer will be locked and if will open must pay ransom by using bitcoin

But here i want to convey my personal opinion in that matter. I think that internet and bitcoin interrelated. Many terrorists and criminals use internet .so also with bitcoin which used perpetrator However, despite all these issues, do people make concrete efforts to ban the internet? No. Not because removing and banning Bitcoin is difficult, but because the internet offers more positive than negative. For the same reason, we have to be more careful about our mindset for Bitcoin, because much evidence has shown that Bitcoin brings many positive, if not more, effects than the internet. Internet and Bitcoin are just devices that 'bad guys' and 'good people'. Fortunately, the world is filled with more people in the 'good people' category.

I haven't researched this recently but my current understanding is that for the most part bad guys stick with cold hard cash because it's far less traceable. Bitcoin, because of its block chain, actually leaves quite an extensive trail wherever it goes unless efforts are taken to "mix" or otherwise disguise it. Maybe it's cash that ought to be banned?

Bitcoin can be used by criminals. But so does fiat currencies like the USD and other currencies.

People having the mindset that bitcoin is being used by criminals and should be banned is heavily flawed. Cooking knives are also being used by criminals, or specifically murderers to kill, but does it mean that knives should be banned? No. Because knives aren't made for that purpose. Same with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Well BITCOIN is much much harder to track so criminals using it was a much much more common occurrence hence the entire stereotyping

I think in a few cases it has been used but to state it is widespread I am sure that this is more media hype to trash Bitcoin reputation than a reality. Now that you need to be fully KYC with any exchange the annonumity of withdrawing to FIAT is gone not to mention new tax regulations.

Well KYC isnt needed if you sell for cash by using say local bitcoins to sell to a local buyer by meeting them somewhere physically

Indeed, Bitcoin can be used by criminal Because BTC is a digital money and anyone can buy or can earn BTC so it depend on the users of BTC that for which activities he want to used. There is no fault of BTC if it is used for criminal activities because all the currencies are used for each and every purpose it just depend on the demand of criminal. So BTC is a currency just like other currency and you can used it for any kind of activities. It better to use your money for legal work and avoid you and your family for using money for illegal activities.

Well criminals are now switching to more dedicated anonymous currencies which are harder to track like XMR, XVG, etc. Those are better than BITCOIN

Criminals can use any means for their criminality. Not just bitcoin and other cryptos. The besy thing in bitcoin is even favorable for them. The untraceable transactions and the anonymity of persons involved makes them want to be into this kind of world. I see a lot of scammer in facebook using the name of bitcoin where in fact, bitcoin isn't scam at all.

Bitcoin is a very flexible unit of currency. It could be use by anonymous persons so there could be a possibility that it is also used by criminals. But after all, it is just a choice if you prefer to use it for crimes. Just like fiats, if you are to use it anonymously then it would do so.

Definitely yes. Criminals love anonymity and bitcoin does that almost perfectly well. Aside from cash, bitcoin transaction is one of the best, if not the best method, for criminal activity.

Not only BTC I used by criminals. A lot of bad people use other cryptocurrencies and even Fiat currency to perpetrate all forms of crime. It's not good to single out only BTC and as a matter of fact, crime will never go away wether BTC exists or not.

The percentage of criminal using bitcoin is less than those trying to earn a living with it. Right from the beginning bitcoin was not built for the criminals . It was created to improve the lapses of fiat currencies and is doing just that. Criminal exist with or without bitcoin

I watched a documentary of the history of Bitcoins in netflix. And it was explained there that even then bitcoins were just starting, criminals were already using it to transactions of illegel products and services. That is why a lot of bitcoin or cryprocurrenct related companies were shut down and th executive officers even went to jail even though what they are doing has nothing to do with the illegal activities. Which is why I think the government should realize is that they should focus on seazing the criminals and not bitcoins. They would still operate with or without bitcoins.
