For me is no, because criminals taking or earning money through their bad action in their victim. While bitcoin, we earn it by our patience and being a industrious person, and earning bitcoin is not easy like crminals do.

The same way the currency we have been using for a very long time is being used by criminals, that it is the way bitcoin is being used by by criminals too. Anything valuable has a tendency of being misused.
Indeed. All the spin about bitcoin being used by criminals in the media is there to sway public opinion on it thus encourage people not to get into it. This is most likely the stance all mainstream media has as they are all controlled by those that also control FIAT money. |

I think so. For me, criminals will use any kind of medium just to do crimes and take advantage of other people and bitcoin is not an exception. As a matter of fact, illegal transactions can be may made here as the transactions happening here can not be tracked especially by the government as the transactions may happen only between the users directly. Also, the anonymity bitcoin offers may attract the criminals. Well, criminals are not only those who use guns and knives, even people who are here just to scam may be called criminals. Crime is a crime whether how small or big it is.

Yes bitcoin is used for criminal purposes, but not only bitcoin, any currency or asset is often used for illegal actions. Bitcoin is just one of the ways to make crime more difficult to investigate.

Bitcoin is often used as payment method for illegal job or for buying illegal staff, as it is decentralized. So I do not think that it is smth new about bitcoin

I once read an article that says bitcoin is used as a payment transaction for terrorists and hackers. And maybe you guys in this forum also already know it. But here i want to convey my personal opinion in that matter. I think that internet and bitcoin interrelated. Many terrorists and criminals use internet .so also with bitcoin which used perpetrator However, despite all these issues, do people make concrete efforts to ban the internet? No. Not because removing and banning Bitcoin is difficult, but because the internet offers more positive than negative. For the same reason, we have to be more careful about our mindset for Bitcoin, because much evidence has shown that Bitcoin brings many positive, if not more, effects than the internet. Internet and Bitcoin are just devices that 'bad guys' and 'good people'. Fortunately, the world is filled with more people in the 'good people' category.
Yes, it is .. I think this is the concern of many countries. Bitcoin can be beneficial to criminals because it can not be traced easily to the identity of the culprit. If it is so difficult to remove the presence of bitcoin, each country may have to cooperate with the bitcoin owners to discuss this issue.  |

Bitcoin is decentralized currency just need internet and computer or mobiles to operate so that anybody can use bitcoin. So who knows who will operate it, all chances are there to bitcoin can be used by the criminals, it's very difficult to track them. |

Blockchain and Bitcoin are effective high-tech ideas that are oriented on improving the world and economy. But it doesn’t mean that this couldn’t be used by criminals. There were some cases with drug dealers which trade for crypto. |

A lot people learned about cryptocurrencies from certain articles/blogs written about controversial topics, but we can use the same question for anything. Is the US Dollar or Japanese Yen or Euro used by criminals? So in all humility cryptocurrency is bein used by criminals.

Bitcoin is a digital currency that is internet based. It has an open source network that people can reach, its access and usage is not limited to a set of individuals. On this note, i believe criminals can use the network to perpetuate dubious acts.

Yes of course, that’s why, we have heard bitcoin scams, not only that, bitcoin is used to gun dealing and gambling , bitcoin has being used to pay for criminal activity as a payment . Huge amount of criminal activities are running on the internet, also, transactions can be easily done through decentralized network system, that’s why, bitcoin is used by criminal.

It is used by all who have it whether its a criminal or a common man. Its a currency which can be utilized in any form, just difference is that its in digital form. Criminal can use it far easily due to its operation in decentralized non KYC form.

only the ownership of the account is not open to the government in some countries,
which allows it to be used as a gap by criminals.

Anyone can use bitcoin and it is not impossible that it is also used by criminals in doing crimes. Because it is easy to use for transactions, it is also easy to use in doing illegal activities. Criminals also feel secured and safe in doing crimes because of bitcoin pseudo-anonymity that keeps the real identity of the user which means that it would be hard for someone in the government to track and trace their transactions in doing these illegal activities
