Am not sure this will work ( i dont have my ant yet)

but my plan is ( it may help you )

I have an old router, that I shall set to 192.168.2.1 (or whatever)

connect my PC by dhcp and the ant to my old router.

Make the necessary changes in the ant for my normal network with a static IP ( all my gear has static IP's so i know where they are).

reconnect PC and Ant to my home network.

Hmm, I think I am missing something.. My ethernet cable runs from my pc to my router. I can't run any more ethernet cables to my pc as my pc only has 1 ethernet slot for the cable to fit in.

The network cable from the antminer runs to the router.

But for some reason I receive an error saying:

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to (the ip address of my miner)

Try reloading: (the ip address of my miner)

Any help at all would be very much appreciated

You need to connect the Ethernet cable to the miner first and go to: 192.168.1.99 (or whatever address is on your miner) and log in and set up your pool settings and all the other things mentioned in sushi's post you've mentioned. Then you can unplug the cable and plug it into the router for the miner to start mining.

Note that if you are setting the IPV4 in windows for your pc Ethernet connection, you cannot set it to the same as the miner, so in windows you should have something like 192.168.1.2, it can't be the same as your miner.

Also note that 192.168.2.99 is the old address and it's now 192.168.1.99, so your pc and router need to be 192.168.1.[whatever]

Sorry, I just re-read and realized that your problem is your router is connected to your pc via Ethernet...

I'd suggest unplugging the router and plugging in the ant. You're going to have to change the IPV4 for your PC lan in windows to 192.168.1.254 because that's what the antminer is on. You'll then be able to access the miner via your browser on 192.168.1.99 so you can get into the gui as you'll have to change the ip of the miner to 192.168.2.99 for it to match your network settings. You can set up your pool info etc. while you are there, then you can reboot it and plug it in to the router and it should start hashing. You can then change the ip of your pc back to 192.168.2.254 and access the [edit]miner[/edit] through your browser again.

TLDR: the default settings of your antminer put it on a different network 192.168.1.99 vs. 192.168.2.254

Okay, so just plug one cable between your router and PC and another cable between your router and your Ant. Your Ant then needs to be set to the same IP subnet as your router and your PC, what is the IP address and subnet of your PC?

The reason why I ask, is because once I get to the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties where I click on "Use the following IP Address" and type in;

IP Address: 192.168.2.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1

Hi everyone

I have 2 out of 3 AntMiners who suddenly stopped hashing.
It looks like cgminer is not started at all.

If I start cgminer using an ssh session than it starts hashing.

I thought it could be a problem with the ntp servers thus tried to enter the IPs like in the OP mentioned and also tried to disable ntp.
Neither helped and the 2 miners are still not hashing.

And I always got these processes running

1850 root      1504 S <  ntpd -d -n -q -N -p 0.openwrt.pool.ntp.org -p 1.openwrt.pool.ntp.org -p 2.openwrt.pool.ntp.org -p 3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org

Do you have the WAN set to disable DHCP [DNS: 8.8.8.8] and the LAN set to DHCP Client?

Have you tried a hard reset?

what subnet and ip is it listening on?

Thanks all for your replies.
I think the problem was with the ntp servers.

After a few restarts and letting them just be I woke up this morning and they work again.
And the suspicious ntp processes are gone. :-)

That's the fix, I'm telling you... I find it better to power down the ant after making major changes, it just works better that way... rebooting from the gui doesn't always result in it renewing the network connection and restarting cgminer... it only takes 30seconds

Thanks I was thinking that, but it's strange because I've done nothing today besides change out hardware and test miners and look at the forum... guess it's time to run malwarebytes again....

[edit]P.S. I did download some bitmain firmware to flash the controller board, so though it might have been that, but now I see it on the other miner too[/edit]

www.malwarebytes.org and get rid of it, before it activates and takes control.
That is a Trojan...On your machine.

Once activated you will need combofix and support tools to clean it off.
