New price for AntMiner S1: 0.818 0.63 btc each one, shipping cost included.
whoever has bought S1 recently will get coupons, which are expected to reach user accounts on Apr 25th and Apr 26th. Happy Mining Has anyone received a coupon from BITMAIN for recent S1 buys? Got my latest S1 just a few days ago, but no coupons yet The price drops + coupons might sway me for another S1 or 2 (with thoughts of under-clocking + under-volting to compensate for its thirst for KWhs) Cheers Got my coupon Cheers When did u bought miners? Bitmain seems teasing people with this and nothing. I did 4.4.14 5 miners and nothing. Is that recent purchase or not?.... My most recent S1 was bought about a week ago. I bought also at about middle and end of March, but it doesn't look like these were counted for the coupon. Perhaps yours is still 'in the pipeline'. Cheers

Well most manufacturers made money during the boom.
Just business will slow down to the point if they cant make a profit they wont make and sell it.
And bitmain is selling off everything in s-1 = more money. The are not dumb they will sit back build nothing for a while and see if btc does a fiat jump. I know that any new company that has not made serious coin will be in trouble with a launch since no one is selling an asic that runs 1th at 200-300 watts. Man would they make money selling that if they had it. A 1th miner at 300 watts in stock at 2.5k would sell like a mofo. While they cant make a 1th miner to run at 200-300 watts yet. Im sure they can make a 1th miner at 1000 watts for under 800 usd.

Regarding the s1s, they are just dumping all of them left in their datacenter(s) on the market to make room for the s2, thats my guess.
Also they might want to cash out their BTC fast, as this option might not be available much longer in their country.

They mining as much they can and once they become half way obsolete they will sell them for even bigger profit.

Im sure they can make a 1th miner at 1000 watts for under 800 usd. That would sell , but they are mining with it instead. If I had 100 1th miners that pulled 900-950 watts each. I would mine them and slowly sell them off. I have a local guy with a solar farm he can do 75k watts at about 7 cents a watt he would love those 1th miners. Heck if I could get them to New Jersey safely at a good price. We would pull 1 blade from each one put them aside and mine. But 800 dollar machines are not available to me or my solar provider in town. I was going to buy 20 s-1's and go partners with the solar provider and what happened Sushi screwed up a test order. I got spooked and did not do the big order. I will end up with 5 or 6 s-1's clocked to 140gh at 170 watts and leave it at that.

you don't need the extra fans . so 5 x .619 = 3.095 btc and about 200 for the psu this is about 1600 for 700gh at low power.
That is not bad at all. Equivalent to $2286 for a 1TH miner, except that you get the ability to overclock and stock clock for as long as that makes sense, then switch to low power for longevity. I like this a lot.

Yes, but have you tried to baby-sit 8x pencil modded S1s?
It's a nightmare believe me.
I am sorry I won't take.
I hash with 24 S1s and 5 clones.

A good idea, and a better solution than an S2 for sure, the only downside being that it'll never make back the 3.5BTC it costs, but at least you'll lose less than the 7BTC an S2 costs

Because of 1. Updating some to s2. 2. Rising difficulty.

Basically power cost plus diff rise will kill it off at the price of 450 usd a coin. Diff goes up too fast. power is in fiat. an s-1 at 200gh 400 watts 18 cents a k-watt btc 450 does not out earn power cost at a diff of 22. even a sp10 at 1th 700 watt mode does not out earn power cost at a diff of 70 at 20% diff will be 75 at sept 10

People will loose interest in BTC, there will be other way to make money. Only huge mining farm will be profitable. Diff will go down because lost of interest, btc price will go down because lost of interest and than maybe obsolete miners will become usefull again.

Huge mining farms will be destroyed by the end of the year too. Manufacturers will be mining less and most new equipment will be made in pre order batches.

Trust me, no one who have a bit brain will go for overpriced, non existent gear which maybe will be delivered at date given by factory and will give money towards this whole scam call preorders.

well my s-1's will be useful in october - march as supplemental space heating. another reason to have them. Since the industry needs mining to really work. I actually feel the super-farms may be worse off then the little guy. I know of hundreds of eletrical heated homes less then 10 miles from my house. Everyone one of them can use an s-1 or more when the heating season comes round. More then 5 million USA homes use electric heat they all can use s-1's next fall. Since the s-1 is the exact same power cost as the electric heat they use per watt. why not space heat with it and get some money back. No big farm can compete with that.

Because of the rising difficulty less manufacturers will mine. Without them building machines to mine first there is no product. They will not risk capital investment to build machines that dont roi. But it's still possible to sell to newbie consumers.

I agree bigger farms have more overhead like rent and maintenance.
