I like the concept of using multi-sig to do legal tax planning.

http://youtu.be/7UEjxH7C95o?t=1h10m15s

Like Amazon, Apple, Google, etc having multi-location tax planning to move cash to the most efficient locations.

One entity or legal partnership spread around the world with multi-jurisdiction rights to apply local tax rules, eg tax havens, giving wallet access to each entity, but with built-in safety features.

That is such a cool and potentially killer feature of crypto. Especially with DRKs anonymity layer on top.

I'll have to do some digging around on the various tax codes and rules to figure out whats what.

Amazon: "Cyberspace."  Cool
Local Tax Coercer: "Uh..."  Cry

edit for DRK lulz:
Local Tax Coercer: "Where is all your money?"  Angry
Amazon: "The Moon."  Cool
Local Tax Coercer: "Fuck it I'm calling NASA!"  Cry

Sop saying tax and call it for what it is. Theft.

Other than that, carry on.

Just a silly question about the proposed system to sent messages and ip obfuscation (3 masternodes encrypting / decrypting messages) :

What happens when a masternode goes down in that process?
Will the message get trough somehow, or can it never be decrypted again ? :p
I don't know if this was answered but there was always a slave to pick up where the last left off if that were to happen.  Now, I think we have all masternodes that are in line as back up, ie:  1st winning masternode, 2nd in line, 3rd in line, etc...

Yes, it was answered. Thanks, good to know it's redundant!

I thought it was automatically picked up by the next masternode in line, but apparently not.  Listen to our president, he's one of the smartest people here, LOL.  My only talent is IF I understand, I can usually put it into layman's terms... but if I'm not understanding, I screw it up, LOL

Actually Evan didn't mention redundancy. So I answered as 'do retry'.

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/development-update-july-30th.1924/

But there are many ways to archive redundancy.

ex) mininum redundancy(at least 2 path)

1) client send msg twice
 - select 6 Masternodes and make 2 set of encrypted msg, send it to 1 and 4.
 -  1[2[3[msg]]], 4[5[6[msg]]]

2) first Masternode send msg twice
 - select 5 Masternodes and make 1 set of encrypted msg, send it to 1.
 - 1[2[3[msg]], 4[5[msg]]]

3) ++

4) ++

Quote
IP Obfuscation:

IP Obfuscation is a critical part of the anonymity package that Darkcoin will bring to bear. Though completion and release of RC4 is our primary concern at the moment, we do have a working roadmap for the implementation of IP obfuscation.

Here’s how it works:

Anyone on the Darkcoin network will be able to communicate securely by using the Masternode network and our encrypted transit system. A user who would like to transmit a payment securely will encrypt the message in such a way that only specific Masternodes can decrypt it.

The user’s client will select three Masternodes, then use the privkey from each of those nodes to wrap the message it wishes to send in three successive encrypted containers. These containers can only be decrypted by their associated Masternodes.

Once wrapped in these three containers, the client will send the encrypted package to the Masternode that corresponds to the outermost encryption layer (Masternode 1). Upon receiving it, Masternode 1 will decrypt the outermost layer in order to learn the identity of the second Masternode in the sequence. Masternode 1 will then relay the message to Masternode 2, which will decrypt the 2nd encryption layer and learn the identity of the third Masternode in the sequence. Masternode 2 forwards the package on to Masternode 3, which decrypts the innermost encryption layer, gaining access to message itself. Masternode 3 then broadcasts the message to the network, and far as the network is concerned, that is where the message originated.

With this envelope encryption system, Masternode 1 is not able to determine which Masternode will ultimately broadcast the message. Similarly, Masternode 3 is unable to determine the identity of either the first Masternode in the sequence or of the original sender.

When you do, give me a call.  I'll be a little slow... but hey, you'll be in my time zone, LOL

Will the real Mrs. Robinson please stand up.

I had your number clocked 2000 pages ago, Mrs Robinson.  I knew it was only a matter.....

Hee hee hee  Wink Kiss

I'm a strange one, you'll never figure me out Wink

Too bad Kristov can't make a masternode.  At least I think we paid him enough to help us out for a while though Cheesy  Just a note, There is no way we're bribing him, I'm sure he feels responsibility toward us.  If he were bribed, it would be behind the scenes by someone like Bob, LOL.  But that won't happen because he's got integrity.  Our helping to pay for his time is nothing like a bribe, it actually buys his loyalty to do a good job, which he would do anyway, but he has more time now to do a deeper job.

Very good report/article, tungfa, thanks!

Kristov Atlas answers the question today:

Q.) Will Kristov use his DarkCoin donations to create a DarkCoin MasterNode now that he has reached 1000DRK &/or would he allow the DRK community, maybe GhostPlayer to walk him through the setup of a MasterNode so he can fully examine the the DRK Network?

Worldcryptonetwork

He answers it at about  1h:51m but MadBitcoin didn't read the whole question - The overall answer was NO but would more do so on testnet.

I kind of thought that this the way he would go but you never know until you ask :-)

edit: spelling
He said he did not want to put the donations at risk on a masternode. someone needs to tell him that masternodes now have the cold storage feature.

Actually, I think this can only work with DRK.

If you try to use Bitcoin or Litecoin, the transaction history will generate too much traffic for global tax authorities to track.  Everyone would launch their own tax investigations and everyone would claim jurisdiction rights. That would generate too many investigations and costs.

If you use Darkcoin, then you are left with the status quo in terms of admin. You file and report locally as you do now. But you have the benefit of multi-jurisdiction movement of funds to suit your tax planning needs.

Darkcoin suddenly becomes an efficient tax planning tool for those that seek appropriate advice and also for corporations - especially the big ones. They can move $billions in funds at reduced FX costs.

Dunno, but the reason he had the donation address was that he could postpone his other jobs that pay his rent or w/e expenses if people donate, so I would expect him to use the donations for his rent or w/e expenses! Smiley
