Masternode numbers have grown significantly - 891 = 854 actives + 37 inactives Payouts wont be as regular as before. You might not get anything for 5 days, then all of a sudden get 3 payments in a day. That being said, yes the Masternode voting consensus is brand new in RC4 yeah my payments are definately "bursty". looking forward to new payment method... To new payment method ? Like let's take 99% from the miners, sure. Everyone here is expecting to make fortune on MN payments. You realize that it's random distribution, right ? You don't get periodically payed, it depends on 'luck' if your MN is chosen. The new voting system to improve on variability. Right now we have a "random top 6 votes" and if nothing has changed in Evan's plan, its going to be a "deterministic top 10" - which I have no clue how it works. Payments will be the same

Why are people thinking that there is a cheaper alternative when the node pays for itself in a day or two or three, that leaves the rest of the month with pure profit. I cant believe that people are that cheap. This is a revolutionary thing we are all participating in.. really? And you want to save a few dollars. Man ... wow, just wow. So now we are getting facepalmed for watching the costs ? really ? I definetely dont like the tone of yr reply. Anyone setting up MN's should act according their own priority's, whether thats price, location or safety of service provided. Maybe he didn't go about in the most diplomatic fashion but I think he is absolutely right. Advising that everyone should set up MNs according to their own priorities is ok to a certain extent but it's not necessarily in the best interests of darkcoin for everyone to do that. Hypothetically, if a hosting provider offered 5 years of free unlimited hosting surely it would be in the best interests of most masternode holders to sign for a service which costs nothing. Would it be in the best interests of darkcoin for every maternode to be hosted with the same provider? Absolutely not. A look at http://drk.poolhash.org/mnode.html shows that close to 44% of masternodes are hosted with Amazon. Sure they're in different locations but they still belong to the same entity. 20% belonging to Choopa (Vultr) is quite a lot too. Are Darkcoin's masternodes truly decentralised? Perhaps, but if everone signed up to a service just because it were free, the masternode network would be basically centralised, regardless of whether the nodes are hosted by the same entity in one country, or different countries. Because while network issues could be technical, there could also be legal or political issues. I put it to you that not everyone is acting purely out of self interest when they select their masternode host. No doubt there are those who are struggling to pay the bills but I seriously doubt that is most people who own masternodes. Each one is currently valued at about $5 500. The Masternode network should be more decentralised and that is the responsibilty of the Masternode owners. Well said. As long as there are services to set up masternodes for people who have no business running masternodes and are not able to go their own way, it's going to stay consolidated...

To me DZ just seems highly incompetent. after going through the last few pages of his thread, this is my conclusion as well. I've been running a masternode since rc3's release and I have had 0 downtime and 0 issues with the remote wallet configuration (takes like 15-20 minutes to harden server + get a masternode running). A corrupted blockchain database isn't a big issue, just delete the blockchain folder and redownload it.

I had a msg titled "Local Wallet appears to be disassociated with Cold Wallet after database rebuild" from DyslexicZombei at darkcointalk, Jul 20. I couldn't understand that he described. So I recommended him irc #darkcoin. He didn't give me any related wallet address to look at.

I got some pvt messages a while back, people were in panic because Dyslexic disappeared off the face of the earth, asking if I knew anything. I dont know Dyslexic at all. A week or two later he apparently came back saying he had gone off on holidays with his family.
I thought this was completely ridiculous, because he didnt say anything to his investors. True or false, completely irresponsible on his part. Investors have the absolute right to be 100% informed of all activities, especially regarding "going on holidays"
But he did come back and communication was resumed. So... I dont know.
Certainly does raise serious warning signs.

I've set up MN's over 50 times - I run 5 on main net and one on testnet and I bugger about with the testnet one about five times a day...
... and reading the last few pages of DZ's thread I have no idea what the fuck he's doing and I'm not sure he does either.

I have to say that what happen to DZ could happen to any of us.
Unfortunately some people are still not having back their investments, however by luck myself and 3 other nodes fully received back. I am confident if anybody shows him how to solve this 2k DRKs issue he will be more then happy to clean this mess.
El presidente if you have guide for him, or even better if he wants to share with you wallet data - you can take it over and solve it. I m sure DZ would agree to share with you private key for wallet...
what you think guys?

I have become extremely wary of DZ, fwiw. I bought into several of his group buys many months ago. Things ran very well for a while. Then a couple of forum trolls, one in particular, made his life miserable and he dropped from sight amid some sympathy. Bottom line for me so far is I paid for about 600Gh of BTC mining shares back when that was a lot of hashing power, and got - crickets. His threads typically started out with huge enthusiasm, e.g.: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=308512.0and are now in a shambles, e.g.: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=308512.msg7958419#msg7958419I didn't participate in his DRK ventures because of this ongoing mess. I'd say it's either a rather clever scam or he is the unluckiest person alive.

I personally don't believe that will happen to anyone else who runs a masternode (with some knowledge of what they are doing). I'm all for someone trying to help out, but it seems like node #3 has either been hacked or a script was badly written or some malicious behavior/screwup on DZ's part. I don't understand what he was saying happened to node #1. Everyone else is not having issues and its impossible for a wallet to send a transaction without unlocking it first. I really dislike blaming the darkcoin community and Darkcoin itself for this situation.

tungfa, I've been trying to wrap my head around Ethereum. Some of the things I thought Masternodes could do, Ethereum is focusing on. Basically they're doing a brand new web infrastructure. Thing is, I don't know how private it is. I don't see how they will be obfuscating ip addresses or exchanging coins. Of course they can just implement DarkSend once it's open. However, as I understand it, their foundation code is different from Bitcoin's. I'm trying to understand what they can really do, and how we might fit into that infrastructure. It's very broad reaching, and if it works, which I hope it will, I want to see how DarkCoin can take advantage of it.... so I'm thinking..... and can't write! LOL. Well maybe it's possible for MNs to each host a service that does whatever noip does... We'd benefit ourselves and put noip out of business with their poxy 19 servers... edit: distributed dynamic dns running on the MN network would be fantastic. Goodbye DDOS attacks. Another excellent idea! Yes, we'd also get rid of that pesky centralization! Hey Tanteyes Etherreum is a headfuxx .... hard to understand what they are actually aiming for , and using those 6 Mill US$ (and counting ...) for ! But, as all the others , it is just promises for now and nothing (they really have NOTHING except of a great PR campaingn) in code! So i would not worry about that department for your story. DRK is running it's own network (857 MN's and counting), decentralized, RC4 coming (incl open source) and on and on ... concentrate on what we (DRK) has going for itself and where we (DRK) will go next (RC4) as these are NOT promises, this is hard code ! Yeah ! i know right, easy for me to say, as i am not writing it down ! But as always ... i am all with you And now EVERYBODY together please: TANTE TANTE TANTE TANTE TANTE ......>>>
