the amazing part is that the anonymization in latest RC4 update really seems to work without problems ...  dont stare yrself blind at the amount in the wallet, its about anonymization in this wallet finally working as intended (still undergoing testing btw)

I've just had a good play around with the RC4 client in testnet and I'm really impressed with what I have seen.  Now its time to see whether I can break it. 

Will set up a testnet masternode or two in the morning if I have time before work.

You are very welcome to come and play on testnet - it's not perfect yet in terms of UI because the way Darksend+ works means a different approach to how the wallet is used is needed, this is new territory for everyone, but the underlying DS+ machinery is working very well and it does indeed provide functioning anonymity as promised.  

Unlike other coins with 'private testing' which is always 'going amazingly well, just wait another week!' Darkcoin and DS+ work here and now and anyone who wants to can come and verify it for themselves.

I think it will simply be a case of 'RC4 is ready, if you want to use DS+ just download the client and use it' for users, but all the MNs will need to update if they want to go on getting paid a service fee. If any MNs don't update they will simply be kicked off the network, there is no danger of them forking the blockchain in any way, they'll just get ignored.

In my opinion, RC4 is going to be a game changer if it launches without any issues.  I reading through multiple forum postings for other anon coins that are all making reference to RC4 coming soon.  All the DRK hatters are slowly fizzling out!  My suspicions are, no matter what any other coin releases right now, the market for that coin won't rise much with Dark's RC4 on the horizon.  Real investors are holding back buying up small bits of DRK not to pump the market, waiting for the RC4 release.  When it lands and works, all the other anon coins will look too weak compared to DRK.  The sad part is, I think they already know it, so they are coming up with different ideas to keep them selves alive.  I won't name names and fud, but one in particular seems to be focusing on privacy chatting instead of being a useful currency.  I guess the old saying goes, there is an ass for every seat.  Someone might find some value in that, but not me........

Today some 95% of the pools already choose to comply with RC3 so only a few pools need to update their server wallet or risk getting their mining rejected with RC4 / Spork.

The latest release is the smoothest by far! Darksend+ is working and soon to be released.

Spread the hash, and use p2pool network. So you are not locked to one mining pool.

btw, the 5% of pools still not fully complying with RC3 are mostly big multipools who convert their DRK to LTC, they are the pools that need updating or risk
getting their minings rejected.

with regards to p2pool : yes, its better to spread the hash and use p2pool so we can avoid getting into a situation where one pool can get 51% hashpower and getting too much power over Darkcoin.

I have been watching the testing closely and what has amazed me the most about this project is the complete and utter transparency in which the developers are conducting their business.  Nothing to hide, here it is, the real work as it happens.

Getting to an end goal is important, how you get there is just as important, it's the way in which this project is run which adds just as much value to the coin as the features themselves.

It's a double whammy of goodness.
