Will NEM focus on the payment systems using debit cards to shop in old web shops? Or what will be the main direction?

No main direction. Just follow what other altcoin focus. Like multipool, game, video...

Brother, what do you mean by 'stepping'? I think he meant heading. NEM is heading to the launch very soon.

I wish we can have a feature that would automatically convert our NEM to USD for purchases online. Like buying stuff on ebay and amazon. Wouldn't that be a ground breaking CRYPTO. Lets make it happen DEV team. What do you think of that Utopianfuture is it even possible

It would be best if you could pay with NEM on amazon and ebay We need to stop thinking of FIATs as the standard that we'll always have to live with. We need to get away from it and embrace cryptos as the future.

I wonder to what will be traded. And when the end of the auction I wonder too. I assume we'll see some proper price setting when the spare stakes are formally auctioned.

Your looking at it too much from a Fiat perspective. For example if you like using ebay, there is going to be an auction based exchange in the network , we just need to find lots of sellers listing their product and accepting NEM. I clearly see this as a community task.

Been thinking a bit and it seems at Nem we have 2, maybe 3 important things done really well.
1)We have a real piece of innovation and a brilliant dev team that has put a lot of hard work to build the foundation for a very promising long term project. 2)We have a great community.(Willing to help, contribute, etc) 3)I think we will hopefully go further than any other coin in achieving simplicity - bridging the gap for the end-user. (It is already happening with the client and other sutff.)
So probably the most important need of our movement at the moment would be an equally talented person on the marketing/PR side.
From all I can see, beside lack of simplicity in every promising project, this may be the greatest need of bitcoin, indeed, whole crypto-community as well.
We don't need someone just to fill the spot. Rather in addition to all we are contributing to building, in light of the lack of quality marketing we see, this is where we could really bring a competitive edge in. We need someone to try to emulate Apple in marketing. This is the easiest way to think about it.
This is a long term project with a lot of hard work and real value put in it, now we just need someone to express all this stuff in the most effective way.
If we want to really take this movement to the next level, we need to focus on quality innovation(aleady doing), simplicity(need more of this, it's never enough) and great marketing.
As I said, beside Doge who is fighting another fight, Blackcoin is the only coin who is showing some real marketing skills. You may have heard about their new project to hire a Marketing/PR company for 90 days to do some work/campaign for them. Don't know how it will work out, but they are definitely trying really hard to make things work and be useful in the real world.
Has someone applied for the open position until now?

A litter update: I just sent out the first wave of invitation to the waiting list. You could see the new column of waiting list invitation in a separate tab in NEM final stakeholder list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlidWok7hW0DdFRROFFGVUpwcFFXcHVCdGc0a3NuQVE&usp=drive_web#gid=6 ; I do not invite any account with litter activity (less than 5 posts) and likely to be a sockpuppet. The first wave of invitations are sent to Priority 1 group (senior members with more activity or with likely more contributions). Given the number of stakes reserved for the waiting list, Priority group 1 is guaranteed to get a stake if they want and all of Priority group 2 are still very likely to have a stake as well. The works on refunding list are almost done and now we are one step closer to the ultimate final stakeholder list. Stay tuned in the thread for more updates and the coming Alpha release. Thanks. Hello i am interesting in to get Stakeholder in NEM. It is still possible to get Stakeholder? Again slaverny

Why NEM? What is our answer to this? Lets come up with a really good official one. I think that unless the dev team has something up their sleeve when it comes to marketing, we will look back at this subject as one of our stumbling blocks. It's ok, NEM has many strengths, and I believe in NEM and I am in for the long haul. This, as of now is NEMs biggest weakness, unless there is something I'm missing. But when it comes marketing, then this is a subject I wouldn't miss. No matter, I have faith in UP and the community to catch us up on this issue. I fully support NEM and will help wherever needed. Keeping this in context. NEM A+ all but marketing

Are there any app programmers out there that can make a simple NEM wallet for a smartwatch? I will help add to the development bounty if this ever becomes a project. Here is a teardown of Samsung's new Gear 2 smartwatch www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Gear+2+Teardown/23990 Some neat features include immersion up to 1 meter of water, 2MP camera, heartrate monitor and IR TV remote. I know a developer who make a payment app for Pebble https://getpebble.com/. The last time I talked to him about Bitcoin he is not that interested but that was just a brief mentioning of Bitcoin. Anyway if that's the something the community wants then at some point it is best starting to look for a developer and contract him. Bounty system works best when it is really big and got advertised massively. This looks really promising! While everyone is waiting on the NEM Alpha, here are some more updates on wearable tech. Requirements: - can spend at least 20 hours per week on NEM related promotional tasks. - can volunteer for NEM related works. - being a NEM stakeholder is preferable (not necessarily one right now but should be one over the long-term). - can formulate a long term strategy as well as individual promotional projects for NEM.
Benefit: - This is not a temporary hire but you will be a member of NEM development team (while we can pay for specific tasks) and can benefit as such. You will work in association with me as well as other NEM core developers in our many future endeavors.
Please send me a P.M describing your relevant experiences and I will contact you for further interviews. This is a very important position for NEM, so I expect the selection process will take sometimes but hopefully we will have the position filled before NEM alpha release.

Considering the valuation of Darkcoin, It's blatently apparent to me that privacy is a legitimate and real concern across all people who use crypto's - and honestly, it makes perfect sense. Bitcoin after all, has most value on the deep web which likely consists of less then legal use. There's also the entire topic of "decentralization" and breaking free from the prying eyes of governing bodies.
I can't help but wonder if this is something the dev team for NEM have taken into deep consideration, because all the signs point to demand for a more anonymous platform.
