These are ASIC hardened modifications of equihash algo ...
For the love of crypto, please stop spreading such silly misinformation...

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Yes, I oversimplified, but changing N and K parameters of equihash algo increased RAM requirements with intention to prevent current gen of ASIC's. Right?

Close, the decisions were based on the speculative myth that the RAM shortage (which is long over) would prevent the ASIC manufactures from competing with the GPU manufactures. These decisions were made by people that have no clue how much RAM the current ASICs even have, much less how much they are capable of having (or at what cost the upgrades would come).

It's all a bunch of garbage that preys on the notion that us GPU owners will ignore the reality that ASICs are better than GPUs in almost every way and that we'll be emotionally linked to our investments and want to "protect them from the evil Bitmain" (who is actually only 1 of 4 ASIC manufacturers).

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

I got lots of Rejected shares with my GTX1080, my setup below code:

Code:
miner  --algo 192_7 okane999.btcz --pers ZERO_PoW --server btcz.suprnova.cc --port 6586 --user okane999.btcz --pass x

I don't know how to fix it, I used with CUDA 8.

Can you help me guys to solve the problem?

Best regards

I had the same Rejected shares  problem, and the solution was to add the parameter '--pers BitcoinZ'.

I saw you figured it out in the meantime, but I think remembering it might help someone.

How many new doorstops did you purchase ComputerGenie?

If ASICs are the best solution, can you explain to us why ASIC resistant POW algorithms were created?

Thanks EWBF!  I have been mining bitcoinz on a mix of 1060 6gb, 1070ti, 1080ti for 2 days on Win10X64 with no problems.

  • 0 doorstops, many ASICs (but less ASICs than GPUs)
  • as per "why", read my sig line

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Does this miner support 1060 3GB with 192.7 algo? Under windows I get this error:
Code:
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, not enough memory, Available: 2605 MB, Required: 2979 MB

It's a problem with windows 10 and its way of allocation of GPU RAM, even for cards which are not being used for display. Problem is known for long time to all renderers (now also to miners) and looks like Microsoft isn't giving a sh*t to solve it. So much of production use of Windows 10 Smiley Under Windows 7 each 1060 3GB gives 12 sol/s for 192.7 algo.

Try ZhashOS. It uses EWBF without all the hours of grief Windows causes. Leave your windows intact and use ZhashOS when you want to mine.

That's true to a certain extent, but the other side of the coin is promoting decentralization which is easier to do with GPU's that the "common man" still can barely afford compared to FCFS ASIC's that only "rich capitalist farmers" can buy.

No one should be under the illusion that the parameter change for higher memory requirements will equate to ASIC prevention.  Resistance is not prevention.  Only delay.  The French Resistance certainly did not defeat the Nazi's.

Misinformation upon misinformation upon misinformation.

  • The security of a blockchain should never be whittled down to something based on what some random burger flipper making minimum wage can afford to mine with.

  • If the above does happen, the lie that an $871 ASIC is "too expensive" for entry should be pointed out

  • If you see $871 ("ASIC's that only 'rich capitalist farmers' can buy") for the same hashrate as a $12,000 GPU setup ("that the 'common man' still can barely afford") as how it is, then you can't math.

  • The decentralization of 3 ASIC chip manufactures is greater than the "decentralization" of 2 GPU chip manufactures (one of which hasn't made any chips in 6 months and the other which is widely not supported by these new changes); because, math!

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Quick little story my buddy wanted to mine BTC last year around sept. Looking at spending around 7-800 usd to get started. choice between bitmain s7s s9s vs cards on nicehash in an apartment setting.

reason's asic didn't get picked, dropping price of used gear with rising difficulty dropping returns, no fast repair, products being received by others were used/not new oh, and the HEAT NOISE!

Was able to put him together a 4 card rig on one i5 PC 1 1050ti $150, 3 970s $160ea all from a local store with warranties and plenty of spares if needed as time = $ cuz maths.

all 4 plus the CPU have been mining ever since. Was able to get in early on some coins and now has a diverse portfolio with a very solid base in BTCZ.

others include BTC through NH, Musicoin, Zencash, Vert, Sumo, CMM, 0xBTC, Raven, Masari, Wavi ect ect ect same gear which has been nice and quiet is worth more today than paid for it prolly.

When local stores carry several brands of asic's with spares NIB and all are 300-600 watts then we can talk, otherwise only thing i keep hearing from bitmain is "Dear customers,

There has been another wave of phishing emails sent by fraudsters. If you do receive such emails offering Antminer models that are not available"

edit: for case and point. had he chose to buy an s7 or even an s9 today it would be about worthless.

from NH prof calc

BITMAIN AntMiner S7 makes currently 0.00775354 BTC $51.20 and costs $93.00 in electric

BITMAIN AntMiner S9 0.02295104 BTC $151.00 and costs 98.00 in electric $52.00 profit

this 4 card miner consistently makes $100 plus per month and the electric is only 35.00 40.00

Hello to all
I have good news about SMOS (simplemining.net)
I talked with the SMOS Admin about EWBF 0.2 and they added the EWBF 0.2 to the SMOS site.
But the current version of the SMOS operating system is not compatible with EWBF 0.2 and brings the error "ERROR: CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime version."

Finally, They introduced to me a new version of the operating system that did not make this mistake

Tested it

On a rig with 6 x 1070 ti  8gb ram i7 7600
algo for btcz it crashes one gpu . disabled one gpu and it continued to mine for a day at 150-170 sol. getting some random error messages of memory exausted

on the same rig i tried zer , doest go at all. not enough memory.

On a rig of 4 1080 and one 1080 ti 16 gb ram ryzen 1600
algo for btcz it goes 170 sol and continue to mine without errors

with zer i get 100 sols and no errors at starting , im currently testing it

good work EWBF!
