Keep in mind, that while supply was dropped by 90%, peoples demand doesn't necessarily stay at its previous level. The Notes become more expensive and fewer people want to buy, whenever the price increases, note holders are given an incentive to sell, adding to downwards price pressure. Velocity of the currency / what is listed on the exchanges, is the only price determinant of the entirety of  notes in the system. I would presume only 2% of notes are listed on exchanges, and that is what, in the short term, decides the value of the other 98%. In short, we won't know what our notes are worth for a long time.

Prisoners dilemma, if people start giving in to price signals to sell their Dnotes all at once, they ruin it for everybody, if people only sell in drips and drabs then there would be price stability and possibly more even stake distribution.

There are too many variables to discuss, in the crypto world, it is just easier to watch for now. There are ways to mitigate pump and dumps, but they are unsustainable long term (dev acting as a buyer and seller with the pre-mine means he would run out of either note or bitcoin eventually and the whole thing would collapse) or the exact reason why people moved from fiat currency to crypto - no government intervention.

Boy I'm glad you're here!  As a matter of fact, I'm so glad you're here, I'm not even going to object to you calling me brother!  Wink  I don't think DNotes is going to go up in correlation to the 90% decrease immediately but I was factoring in an increase in demand.  DNotes has done things differently than other currencies and I don't think a lot of people understand the building of a good foundation first.  There hasn't been the usual fuss made here that there has been with other coins and I'm pretty sure we have flown almost completely under the radar.  I think the buying will come from outside the current cryptocurrency world, maybe not in the next couple of weeks, but rather the next several months.

Well, brother (Bro) is NZ slang which you either have not encountered much in the US (going by movies you do)... orrrr you are female, then you can be sister Smiley

I like watching the price go up, but again, I plan on holding for a long while so I will be riding out the dips and hopefully get a good result down the line. I'm helping vote on Mintpal, everybody get in on it!

You can call me sister - I thought the wink might have given it away. Cheesy  We are up 1000 votes from the time it was posted that there was going to be a Mintpal campaign and it hasn't even started!  There is something about passing other coins that keeps me motivated to vote.

Hey all, I have manually processed the missed payouts that had failed to process due to being on the wrong chain on the 20th of June.  Any payouts that had occurred (Manual or Auto) did not get processed yet still show a transaction number in your transaction history.  The time frame of these were all June 20th between 16:25 and 23:45.  The manual payouts listed below cover those specific payouts and you should be receiving them shortly if not already.  These will not show up in the pool transactions which is why I have included them here because they were all manually processed.  If I happen to have missed anyone please PM me and I'll quickly track it down if you can provide me your username on the pool and the date and time of the payout but I'm pretty confident that this covers them all.

I am also looking at reimbursing those that were mining during this time as no valid coins would have been mined yet your has power would have been used.  Just going through the list of miners now and should have some coins sent out to those of you that were active during that time.

btw, our stratum is still down as we are still working on getting the database cleaned up so that the CRONS will run properly.  Sorry for the inconvience caused but we want to make sure everything is in line and working properly before going live again.

No root cause has been found, we were on the latest version and also using the same 3 addnodes listed in the OP.

Great job Charity! As a proactive measure I am attempting to strengthen the network through nodes and looking into alternative measures as well. We do not have an exact cause of the issue either.

I would recommend removing the old blockchain files and starting the download from scratch. I'm pretty confident that will fix it, even though the error message doesn't suggest that is the issue.

Close the wallet.

The following article is definitely worth reading, but here is my take:

"Phase 5: Mass global consumer adoption starting in 2015."

Starting? What is the definition of starting? One can easily argue that it has already started. I believe that with significant contributions from the likes of DNotes it will take another five years before it is clearly apparent that mass global consumer adoption of digital currency has reached mainstream.  The pre-requisite is that there must be one or more digital currencies that can be qualified as: trustworthy, stable, reliable, and conveniently available with excellent liquidity worldwide.  That is what smart money is looking for.  Let us know if find a potential candidate that is positioned to be qualified.

Bitcoin’s ‘Wall Street Phase’ just around the corner

"Since the day I learned about bitcoin, I’ve been convinced that it will replace a large segment of gold bullion investors. I feel like I’ve gotten validation for that thesis on the heels of Peter Diamandis’s announcement that he swapping some of his gold investments for bitcoin.

The famed entrepreneur is best known for his creation of the X prize and as the cofounder of the Zero-Gravity Corporation (an aerospace company that operates weightless flights for researchers and tourists). In a blog post on bitcoin Diamandis argues that the currency will do for money what email did for communication. He also lays out what he sees as five phases in the development of digital currency (much of which is based on comments from Second Market founder Barry Silbert).

Peter Diamandis’s Five Phases of Bitcoin Adoption

Phase 1: Bitcoin’s “deceptive, experimental phase” from 2009 to 2011.
Phase 2: The early adopter phase from 2011-2012.
Phase 3: The venture capital phase from 2013 to mid-2014.
Phase 4: The Wall Street Phase, which will be marked by “institutional money acknowledging digital currencies as an asset class,” from mid-2014 to 2015.
Phase 5: Mass global consumer adoption starting in 2015.

Diamandis believes we are smack dab in the middle of phase 3 right now. If that’s the case, expect the value of bitcoin to surge in the coming years. It makes me wish I had more money to invest in bitcoin. Once the broader gold-bug community and hedge fund mangers see value in the currency, it could forever change people’s definition of hard assets."

This is very interesting and exciting.  I checked out the blog by Peter Diamandis (https://plus.google.com/+PeterHDiamandis/posts/dWQFcpcws8V) and and liked the use of his phrase "User Interface Moment".

You can probably get a better return from Bitcoin as compared to gold in the foreseeable future, but I'm not sure if gold is the investment I would be getting rid of.  If Wall Street is putting it's money into the technology to support Bitcoin, and there is the potential for a huge transfer of wealth to a lot of people in the "high consumption" age bracket,  is it not possible that the Bitcoin Bull could cause rising inflation?  Gold has always been a hedge against inflation and I think I would still keep it as a backup investment.  What do you think?

High net worth individuals should always maintain a well diversified investment portfolio, which includes gold. Peter Diamandis did mention using only a portion of his gold portfolio to invest in Bitcoin. I agree with him that Bitcoin will out-perform gold, most likely by a wide margin. In my opinion, the digital currencies that can survive the test of time, will be impacted the least by future inflation as compared to fiat currencies. Digital currency has a maximum supply limit and in the foreseeable future demand will grow significantly. Fiat currency does not have the same limitations while growing demand is often met with more money being printed.

This is indeed exciting time for the digital currency that is positioned to be the currency of choice for mainstream adoption. The potential is huge.

If any of you out there ever feel uncertain about continuing to invest in DNotes with all the new flashy currencies out there, just go here:

http://coinmarketcap.com/note_90.html

You won't find many coins like this one. It's a beautiful thing...

RJF, thanks for pointing out the significance of DNotes trend-line chart. It is beautiful and I doubt there is more than a handful in our industry that reflects such stability and long term growth so well.  However, I will add that a four month trend line is insufficient for most serious investors to get excited with. If this trend line continues for 18 to 36 months with the same indications of stability and value appreciation, we all would wish that we bought more DNotes when they did not cost as much.

When Wall Street money finally starts to invest in digital currency at a significant scale, I fully expect that there will be professional digital currency analysts hunting down the best investment opportunities.  DNotes is positioned for that day and we have every reason to believe that it will be one among a few top picks, perhaps the best in class. That is when big payoff can be expected for our long term investors.

I agree on all points and, that day is coming sooner than most people think. We have to remember one very important thing about Wall Street concerning the timing of an investment and that is, by the time the general public hears about a move, it's already been made and insiders are already making a profit. Keep an eye on those charts...

Getting DNotes listed on Mintpal is one of DNotes high priorities. This is an important part of DNotes awareness campaign. We know for a fact that more and more investors of high net worth are seriously looking to invest in Bitcoin and other digital currencies.  These investors tend to be more selective and are usually investing for the long term. Our stability model specifically targets this kind of investors as anchors to our stability. We already have a few on board as reflected in DNotes price trend line.

Supported with probably the most generous giveaway programs in our industry, in support of DNotes shared stake concept, we have been able to reach out to a very large number of people who own digital currency for the first time. Along with our efforts to encourage and assist women to participate in the crypto currency world, we should not be surprised if DNotes has the largest percentage of female stake holders and among the top in terms of total number of stake holders. These are all very important part of our overall long term strategies. Please vote for us at Mintpal as often as you can. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated.

RJF, I can not agree with you more. You are exactly correct. The average investors often ended up getting the meat bones after someone else has taken the best bites. Yes keep a close watch on DNotes chart. We are still at our launch pad. We have a long way to go. If DNotes can sustain a continuous path of higher highs and higher lows over a period of at least twelve months, DNotes will not be ignored by any serious investors.
