I've unchecked "Use Change Addresses" and yet on three separate transactions it's still using them. Undecided

sorry, I made a mistake. it's fixed now, see 0.59a

I'm trying to send a transaction from an offline wallet following the instructions in https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Electrum

But I'm getting an error at the point when I'm making the transaction with the command 'electrum -w offlinewallet mktx toaddress 0.1':

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/electrum", line 456, in <module>
    fee = options.tx_fee, change_addr = change_addr, from_addr = from_addr )
TypeError: mktx() got an unexpected keyword argument 'change_addr'

I'm thinking of adding the optional flags -s and -c on my next try, but I got sidetracked by another problem.

I reproduced the same error by making a transaction from my online wallet. But this time my balance got deducted. Shouldn't the balance remain the same if there's an error in making a transaction?

Using both version 0.59 (offline) and 0.59a.

Really sorry about that. I have been focusing mostly on server issues yesterday, and I did not take enough time to test this release.

Here is 0.59b that fixes this problem.

edit: the good news is that server issues seem to be solved now Smiley

It would be useful to have buttons for making offline transactions in the GUI.

Where is the wallet data stored in Windows 7?

I want to delete the wallet and start with a new one. I tried to delete the "%appdata%/Electrum-P" folder, but that didn't help.

Normal version: %appdata%/Electrum
Portable version: same folder as the executable

Thank you  Smiley

Had to go to c:\users\username\AppData\Local\Electrum

The %appdata% only showed me c:\users\username\AppData\Roaming\Electrum-P

I didn't know about the Local vs Roaming folders in Win7 (I use XP, mostly)... Thanks for your feedback.

"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\" in Windows 7 is equivalent to "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\" in Windows XP, and "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\" is the same as "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\"

I just want to be sure I understand this but your wallet is not tied to a server somehow correct? When I connect to uncle-enzo.info my wallet balance stays on 0. This is not intended but probably a server problem?

That's correct, the wallet is totally server-independent. You can connect to any server, or even create your own.

What you are experiencing is a server problem - uncle-enzo has crashed, I believe.
In my experience, the most stable servers currently are ecdsa.org and electrum.novit.ro.

Could you add an at-a-glance way to see the current block number -- perhaps in the lower right corner?

You mean, something like this? Smiley

I have made a little patch for it and am currently fine-tuning it.
The patch is ready. If some find it useful and want to test it out, just let me know and I will post it.
(It's NOT included in my releases at this time.)

EDIT: Added a little hyperlink to the BlockExplorer count, for a quick comparison.

PS: bear with me, I'm still a beginner with Python and Qt Smiley

Just installed 59b on a new machine. Is the installer still suppose to set up electrum in the fedora/gnome apps menu? Not seeing it.

Could you give me a patch or a diff, want to try to patch my OS X version Smiley

ThomasV: I tried to send you two small pull requests on Gitorious but I must say I'm having trouble using the site properly. I got redirecting loops earlier today, a couple of errors when trying to create the pull requests so I'm not sure if that worked out at all. Hope you got them in good order.

There's something wrong with the server not importing transactions while running. I'm currently importing the backlog of transactions that it missed. If you follow the electrum server discussion thread, it isn't just uncle-enzo.info that's having this problem.

Sure! To try it out, just back up your copy of gui_qt.py and replace it with this one:
http://dre.tx0.org/gui_qt.py  (file size should be 53791 bytes)

Hopefully it should be OK on a Mac too, let us know Smiley

Thanks, seems to work fine, I hope this gets added to master.

It's not as pretty as on Windows but it will have to do Smiley
