Here comes complexity in cricket :-P Unique idea but not sure many people will understand it. I do not find any excitement though. Did anyone notice that PL has already started from yesterday? Good news is now we have Soccer in all European countries and Cricket is also going to start after 20 days in England but sad news we will not able to have these sports in 2020 as Corona is doing his own business and its not going to end in near future. I am up for every weird innovation so i am excited for this one as well. I don't follow football so nope @Royse777 my head started to spin after reading so many rules hence I guess this league is not for me, but it’ll be interesting to see how the general public views it, and further it seems that they already have found a fan/viewer in @JSRAW. Lastly I’m excited for the Premier League to begin as I can’t wait for Manchester United vs Tottenham match because then I’ll finally get to see Pogba and Fernandes link together, and hopefully win my bet too that I have placed on Manchester United. It would be interesting to see the confusion at the early stages of the format. Anything is possible in cricket if this format gets a crowd and a lot of new countries following it then it would be great. Which I doubt!

Looks like the BCCI is pushing ahead with hosting the IPL later this year in September - November which will put the T20 world cup in doubt. Not only that there are still several countries that have strict travel restictions in place which would make it hard for the world cup to go ahead. I thought it would as Australia has done well at containing the virus but like I said its winter here and now we are seeing an increase in cases daily, the worst since March.

BCCI cannot do this without approval of Government and situation is not good for them even most of experts peak of corona is still coming so I have doubt they will be able to have IPL this year because this could be very risky and can bring some serious damage to them even without crowd many players will not able to came here and join this all.

Yes I agree and that's what I think is the problem for all international sports right now, the travel between countries and states/cities. Even here in Australia there are restrictions on travel between states so even if the T20 world cup was to go ahead it would make it hard. I just think that we have to give both tournaments a miss this year and try for next year which hopefully the virus is under control by then.

If you look at the situation in both the countries, then the T20 World Cup could go ahead as the situation is far better than in India, if the BCCI is willing to push forward for the IPL even in a situation that is much worse than Australia and it all depends upon what the government decides. The ICC are yet to postponed the tournament as they are waiting for the things to be clear and with football and other sports coming back why no cricket without any audience and even the Australian minister was willing to allow audience in the stadium according to some reports i saw.

About this new format - I think once we will see one or two matches then things will start to be clear but for me, I still do not find it exciting but just a complex combination :-D I hope England vs WI hope is still alive?

This..... Only one game as of now. Oh c'mon bro, don't be a party pooper and don't tell me that you never fancy the idea of one batsman batting alone in any international cricket, just like gully cricket hahaha. Its one-off exhibition event anyway and all the raised money going to charity.I hope England vs WI hope is still alive?
Yeah, Test series is ready to pop-up next month. Windies already arrived in the England and Both teams are busy in team practice etc.

IPL in India does not look feasible for this year considering the current situation and other things which is going in the country. So only thing of it has to happen would be out of India and SL is an option . But only thing when and what will happen to T20 World Cup then . Will both happen or any 1 will happen or both will not happen this year are still questions on everyone mind.

Tentative date is September, I am not sure whether the situation will change by tha time . Starting September most Indian festivals will also start. People will come out to buy new things and the virus situation might get worst by that time.

^^ Don't underestimate the greed of the BCCI. I am not ruling them out from the IPL event race, they are just looking for one positive news regarding pandemic after that they can do anything.
As far as T-20 is concern, ICC and CA doesn't seems interested at all.

That's BCCI, you know. Nevertheless, there's no chance left for IPL to be held this year in India (I don't think it will take place on outside India as well). The current pandemic situation isn't looking in favor at all.

I guess the T20 World Cup is out of the equation, after statements from the Cricket Australia chairman (Earl Eddings) and Ehsan Mani (ICC Board member). This may give an opportunity for the BCCI, but the situation in India is progressively getting worse. Yesterday we had close to 14K new infections and today we are all set to reach 15K mark. It is just disastrous.

They have never said that they have canceled IPL 2020, they are only delaying it for a few months and when the time is right they will go for it. I do not think it will be possible for them to conduct IPL now, considering the current virus situation in India. If the spread slows down by the fourth quarter then there is a chance.

Its open to speculate as far as "deals in jeopardy" boycott rhetoric is concern and can shift both ways as VIVO deal is not that big (approx 500ish crore). I think status quo is not a bad option till BCCI gets new sponsor.

I think status quo is not a bad option till BCCI gets new sponsor. There is a huge cry about boycotting the Chinese products and it is a 2,199 crore which is about 440 crore per year which is a huge sum of money and there are news coming out that BCCI will be reviewing all their sponsors and the decision will be taken next week regarding all these and that includes all the companies that have Chinese minority investment.

Do you think boycotting Chinese products is possible in this globalisation era? Almost all of the electronics even if its a US or European brand, the make is in China. So I don't think this is not possible in this era. Once the current border conflict subsides, the cry for boycotting Chinese products will stop and the people will be back to using the Chinese products. So, once the border conflict subsides, there will be no problem with VIVO sponsoring IPL
