I was a Jessica-Rose Clark decision away from winning £15k. What's more annoying, it was the first bloody fight of the evening, so any tension was gone before we even started. I knew it, I bloody knew I should've favoured the wrestler. Especially, in Womans mixed martial arts, I find the wrestlers are usually the ones that make a good bet, when it comes to underdogs.

Love to see Strickland brought back down to reality. Feel like he overlooked Alex. Izzy did Izzy things, made it look easy, but ultimately wasn't a overly exciting fight. Honestly, despite the card being stacked, I felt a little bit disappointed by most of the fights.

Israel Adesanya
Alexander Volkanovski
Alex Pereira
Bryan Barberena
Pedro Munhoz
Brad Riddell
Jim Miller
Gabe Green
Dricus Du Plessis
André Muniz
Maycee Barber
Jessica-Rose Clark
8 out of 12, one of those being a no contest, so 8 out of 11. That's not a bad night, if Jessica had won, I'd have landed two bets.

It was surely not a bad night for you and with bets like this I really think we need to be prepared for the outcome, and like you, I also bet for Jessica-Rose Clark, and I surely never realized that Julija Stoliarenko was this good of a wrestler, pretty much I have never realized that the result will be like this aswell, but I surely never regret it and that is why I bet with a minimum 4 to 3 fights only, but 8 over 11 win still is decent,

Actually, Alex Pereira made Sean Strickland way too easy, pretty much Pereira is surely not just hype, the way he calculated the fight and condition, Strickland, in the way he wants him to do this was set up by Pereira, and in my opinion Israel Adesanya should be more worried about the guy that made him sleep on the canvas,

Alexander Volkanovski was a superior fighter and he was much faster than Max Holloway and he was not able to find the range and Alexander Volkanovski was landing the heavy punches frequently and now it is time for Alexander Volkanovski to move up the division and fight ‎Charles Oliveira and that is what he said during the post fight interview and i believe that is what he is going to get next because he literally cleaned the division.

Volkanovski is really looking for belt number 2 and given a chance he might become one, he surely got the Speed no doubt about that, while Charles Oliveira has the accuracy to land punches, this will be an epic fight but the media is looking for ways for Volkanovski to look like he doesn't deserve it, by saying that Holloway is not the same and not in his top physique but this is just an excused to make Volkanovski's look weak,

Max Holloway should take some time off, he is durable fighter but got punched a lot and i believe it is a UFC record or something. As long as Alexander Volkanovski is the champion he will not get a chance to fight for the title.

I truly salute Max Holloway's durability and chin, pretty much if Volkanovski would fight a different fighter it could be over in just 2 rounds, but Holloway surely has a sturdy chin that can withstand Volkanovski's strikes,

Volk also announced he'll be moving up a division, which I'm all for. I honestly, after that performance against Max, don't think there's too many contenders in the same division. I thought Max would do better than that, but it's quite clear that Volk has just continued to get better, while Max looking a little stagnant. Same sort of attacks as the fight before, and didn't really have any other game plan. Tried to grapple, but Volk got the upper hand on pretty much every occasion.

Also, I haven't watched the post conference yet, is it worth watching? I'd only be interested in Strickland's attitude after being knocked out. That's if he didn't have to go to hospital for a few checks that is.

Israel Adesanya VS Jared Cannonier Round 5 Decision - WIN
Big congratulations to Isreal, One of the biggest winners in that game apart from him is drake the musicians who bet a whopping $1M  that he was going to win and won $2.5M. Isreal is making a good record for himself with now twenty three wins and one loss. His confidence level will be up as well having not lost any of his last twelve fights and preparing to face Pereira who he has a history with, it will be an entertaining fight to see them both once again, head to head on the stage.

Do you think there could be a situation where Volkanovski is simply not in his weight class? It’s just that if you compare the fighters, then Max is higher, but Volkonovsky is much more athletic, more massive, I mean that he is not in his category and there are no equal fighters here. What do you think about this?

They weighed the same, the day before. That's how it works across most fighting sports. However, due to the way they weight cut, i.e mostly waters. On the day you're going to see some fighters gain their mass back rather quickly, and therefore will be heavier than the day before.

Now, there's been criticism of this in the past, but the only way you're going to stop this is by weighing them before they step in the cage. However, that presents new problems like, bad weight cuts causing the fighters to be drained before actually fighting, since they'd be fighting like a hour after they finished cutting, more cancelled fights or fighters losing their purse, and quite frankly wouldn't earn the UFC as many money since they wouldn't get double the viewers, since a lot of people tune into the weigh ins. Thus, they make more sponsorship money.

So, to answer your question in short; It's impossible to prevent a fighter from cutting so much that he weighs the same as his opponent the day before the fight, but ultimately is heavier on the day.

Is his bet only on Izzy? How could this be? The odds on Izzy was only 1.18. Izzy might not be Drake's only bet or he should share to us what sportsbook he is using before it becomes bankrupt from giving very good odds heheehhe. In any case, the Last Stylebender versus the Killa Gorilla was not very good to watch. It was very boring and according to Alex Pereira the fans were leaving on round 4.

During his UFC 276 post-fight press conference, Pereira expressed disappointment in Adesanya’s showing in the main event.

“It was not a fight that not only (didn’t) excite me but also did not excite the crowd. I was very sad to see that,” Pereira said of Adesanya’s performance. “So I hope when we fight, he do a better fight than that. For sure, I want to make him fight to give a better show to the crowd.”

Since Pereira first signed with the UFC, speculation has risen regarding a third fight between him and Adesanya. Pereira has accused Adesanya of ducking him leading up to Adesanya’s post-UFC 276 callout.

Disappointing to see how boring the fight.  It didn't live up to what is expected to see since the two are known to throw shots that could immediately bring anyone of them down.  It didn't entertain the people on the side of the cage, they are the ones looking for action.

As for  Pereira, he is likely trying to annoy Adesanya. Pereira  is looks up to what Izzy had achieved in UFC while in the first try of Izzy in the combat sports he had knocked him down. A little bit more of intimidation, Dana could match the two.

I think it is a fairly good decision now that he truly dominates the division, but if there could be a title defense for him that can threaten his belt I would like to pick guys that are in the lower ranks and in my opinion, Movsar Evloev and Ilia Topuria is they can reach a better spot in the rankings maybe they can be a decent match for Volkanovski in the future,

I think Sean Strickland is OK and doesn't really need medical attention after the fight with Alex Pereira, I have seen a video that Strickland shaking hands with Pereira and treating him while going out of the event hall, but I really don't know if he'll be speaking for a post-fight conference after what had happened, but I really wish he'd showed up,

That is a lot of money considering the odds for Israel Adesanya, against Cannonier he is the favorite and I haven't seen any news or article regarding that, or maybe he is in different bookies that Adesanya was the underdog, I think that was quite possible, but most of the gambling site that is well known to this forum Israel Adesanya has a pretty high odds,

Speaking about Alex Pereira's history about Israel Adesanya, that was really a long time ago and surely what Alex Pereira did back then he also did it now against Sean Strickland, so in my opinion with this Israel Adesanya better be careful about Alex Pereira, because what he can do back on their kickboxing match he can surely be done it again, but I think Israel Adesanya will be ready for it, he got a team that is pretty much doing a tremendous job because I think Israel Adesanya is really motivated about that fight and he will surely let doubters doubt,

So guys, I am quite new to this sport,,, but I am trying to follow the news and developments, still very difficult for me to understand especially how the future match ups work and how weird one guy decides who meets who usually.

So my question is, because all the news outlets are 50-50. Do you think this Pereira guy has earned enough to meet Adesanya? One big win yes, but is it enough to say he now deserves to fight the main man?

No, I don't think he deserves a title shot yet. He defeated a top ten middleweight but he'll have to do more than a 3-fight win streak. Maybe a fight with Whittaker or Vettori first before Adesanya. BUT all matches ultimately depends on Dana. If he's happy about a fighter and the guy is easily marketable, he might give him a chance faster than the others. At the end of the day, it's still about who can bring in more crowd and pay for gate/PPV.

Israel Adesanya vs. Jared Cannonier - Israel Adesanya's gimmick is more entertaining than the fight. Dana White should book  Alex Pereira for the next title defense or I more  fight in the top 5 before facing Adesanya.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway - No doubt Alexander Volkanovski is the goat in the Featherweight Division better to move up and aim to be a double champ.

Sean Strickland vs. Alex Pereira - What a brutal left hook was that, so cold.

Pedro Munhoz vs. Sean O’Malley - What a disappointing fight! Sean O’Malley next fight should be in the top 15 for us to see if this guy is a prospect to be a contender in the Bantamweight Division.

Alex Pereira first shot was great but I think the point is how carefully  hadn't waited for the right timing when He was swinging the second punch.

The Sean O'malley match was a total disappointment. It would have been a good match, ended too soon. I think, given a little more time, they could have opened their eyes and continued the fight. I think he should be in the top five in Bantamweight.

I don't want to say anything with Volkanovski. He has no rivals in this weight, he has proven it again, he should go up to a higher weight and make a belt match there.

There are plenty of sites that could help you to start, and if you are familiar with MMA then I think you should start familiarizing their style and look for the UFC Rankings so you can see who is on the top and who will be the number 1 contender,

Alex Pereira is a no ranked, to begin with, and it is Sean Stricklands' fault for giving him a fight because Sean Strickland lost to Alex Pereira, Pereira will be landing in a sweet spot on the ranking, but not that much, and he will be needing more fights to get to the Champion Israel Adesanya, he is still starting his career in the UFC I think he still needs to prove himself, but he has gained Performance of the Night award by knocking Strickland on the 1st round, so there is that,

Israel Adesanya vs. Jared Cannonier - Israel Adesanya's gimmick is more entertaining than the fight. Dana White should book  Alex Pereira for the next title defense or I more  fight in the top 5 before facing Adesanya.

All are true, Israel Adesanya's gimmick was more entertaining but for me, his fight was not that bad, I think many people are bored with his style because he tends to be on the safe side than clobber his opponent without further thinking about what will happen, the way Izzy fight is part of the game plan, if you are bored over it and doesn't like the way he fights there is still an option to not watched it, This is how Israel Adesanya fights he can Knockout his opponent but I think when an opportunity comes, right now his record is 24 matches 23 Wins and 1 Lost, and with 15 of his win was by Knockout and 8 wins are all Decision,

Pedro Munhoz vs. Sean O’Malley - What a disappointing fight! Sean O’Malley next fight should be in the top 15 for us to see if this guy is a prospect to be a contender in the Bantamweight Division.

I'm not too fond of Sean O'Malley his character and the way he says that he is dominating the fight but the truth is that he really is not, if you look at every fight of Munhoz he is not a quitter, every doubter in saying that Pedro Munhoz is just saying his eye hurt just because he wanted out of the fight if you look at the score cards it was really a close fight but two judges are in favor for Munhoz on the 1st round, so why would he want to make excuses that he wanted to be out of the fight, and Reed Harris is saying he sees Munhoz in the morning and his eye was still shut, and the medical reports have said that it was a right corneal abrasion, from that eye poked of Sean O'Malley, and Pedro Munhoz is saying that there are two eye pokes and a hit to his groin, and if we look closely on the 1st eye poke it was the thumb of Sean O'Malley but it was just a slight eye poke and Munhoz was really OK but that 2nd eye poke went inside and really damage his eye,

But I can not say that Sean O'Malley have done that on purpose or it really was an accident it is up for you to decide on what you think, but one thing that I am sure about is Sean O'Malley was not dominating the fight I really think it was a close fight, it was a competitive fight,

Volk also announced he'll be moving up a division, which I'm all for. I honestly, after that performance against Max, don't think there's too many contenders in the same division. I thought Max would do better than that, but it's quite clear that Volk has just continued to get better, while Max looking a little stagnant.
Volkanovski is without a doubt best fighter in his Featherweight division and he is getting better with each new fight, but Lightweight will be totally different beast for him.
Charles Oliveira, Poirier, Gaethje, Makhachev are top of the food chain in that division and he needs to improve more and put some weight if he wants to compete with them on same level.
Everyone wants to be champion in two or more categories but it's not easy to do it and remain champion for long.

Also, I haven't watched the post conference yet, is it worth watching? I'd only be interested in Strickland's attitude after being knocked out. That's if he didn't have to go to hospital for a few checks that is.
Alex Pereira finished him good and his UFC road to the top might be faster than Jiří Procházka, and it's only a matter of time when he meets his arch enemy Adesanya.
Yesterday I watched again kickboxing fight between this two guys and he knocked down Adesanya in amazing style, so there is bad blood between them.
Adesanya had total domination against Cannonier and he won exactly like I expected, but I can't wait to see fight Adesanya vs Pereira Smiley
Almost forgot to say, that Undertaker entry style for Adesanya was one of the best I saw in UFC.

Some good fights this weekend. Can’t say I was really surprised by anything but I could’ve done without the Suga eye poke. Izzy and Suga did their jobs though. Lots of folks not too happy about how some gambling houses handled the Suga fight, but it was a bit of a weird scenario. Still not exactly sure how that’s being counted on records. I guess this makes up for the Suga loss that he doesn’t recognize. Now he’s been on both sides of the coin. Hopefully he doesn’t fall off from here. Feels a little like the magic is gone.

Agreed. Uncle Dana will begin creating his storyline for the only man who knocked out Israel Adesanya. However, I predict Izzy will avoid this fight and he will declare that he will go on a vacation to a place far somewhere hehheehehe. Alex Pereira is the man he fears.

For uncle Dana, Izzy's vacation will certainly be disappointing. However, he has a weapon for this. He will make an interim middleweight championship for Alex Pereira. I predict it will be versus Robert Whitaker.

He should wear it with a long leather jacket next and makes the lights go dim a bit more with matching candles on the runway, and I think that will be Phenomenal, I think Israel Adesanya is still a kid in heart, for having this kind of entrance, loving Anime, and explicitly saying the Tabbo word Hentai on his podcast he surely loves what he is doing and I think he is an open book when Sean Strickland was getting over him Strickland simply is reading through Adesanya, but Still loving what he is doing,

In Israel Adesanya's case, I think the fans, and should I say MMA fans were really on a different path, there are some that like Izzy's performance but there are some that get bored with how Israel Adesanya fought, but for me, I think he is just playing it simple and safe and dominating the fight in the distance and gaining points, and pressuring Jared Cannonier from the distance was actually a great strategy and not all the fans will be loving his performance because is quite very simple,

In the O'Malley fight, I can not say if it was really intentional or not, but Pedro Munhoz said it was 2 pokes and a groin kick, he felt in the heat of the fight but he's not saying that O'Malley have done it intentionally but for me, I think he is,

I'm a Izzy fan, but I'd like to see him take a little more risks. I mean, he claimed he didn't care about holding the belt, and wanted to style on his opponents, but we didn't see any of that. So, just words from him I think.

Look at Volk, held a belt for a while now, but still is exciting, and takes calculated risks. I want to see Izzy do that, because when he puts pressure on he's one of the best. Think about the Gastelum fight, he was forced to take risks, and it was a lot more entertaining than we've seen recently.

I guess I'm just getting bored of seeing him play it safe just to keep the belt. The division was already getting stale, but him point fighting doesn't really help. I can't blame him exactly, I mean the longer he holds it, the more money, and legacy he builds. I'm just talking from a fans point of view, and considering the excitement factor which Izzy is quickly losing.

I think the last time Israel Adesanya risked was his fight in light heavyweight against Błachowicz. Mainly because he was lighter than Błachowicz and lighter than light heavy division on the scales.
Before becoming a champion, he risked much more. After getting his belt, he mostly finishes his title defences with UD (only TKOed Costa that had hangover). No doubt that he is a great fighter and striker, but why a lot of people call him one of the better strikers in UFC? If he was one of the best, he would KO people in first rounds.
