Beneil Dariush wasnt active for a long time. There is still unsettled business between Dariush and Makhachev. Dariush is on a series of 7 wins. He has identical rights to fight Oliveira as Makhachev. They could fight this summer, it will be enough for both to prepare.

Stats shows, that fighters have usually 1-2 fight per year. Makhachev had his first in February, Olivera had first in May, Dariush last time fought last year, Gaethji got one fight also, Poirier fought in 2021.

This is the type of fight where you don't really know what's going to happen. The first time around both of them got rocked, and could have easily gone to either fighter on the night. If these guys fought ten times, I imagine it would be pretty 50/50 on who wins on the night. The only issue I see for Justin is I believe Poirer has improved quite a lot since they last fought. Justin seems to found his level, albeit that being a rather high level.

Olivera is a problem though, if any of them want to hold the belt. Not convinced anyone can take that belt off him, and keep it. Although, Justin definitely did hurt him, I got the feeling you've got to knock him out clean, otherwise he'll fall to his back, take guard, and recover without taking any more damage, since the threat of his ground game is too much for most in the division.

No surprise for me that Charles Oliveira had such a great performance in main event against Justin Gaethje with that first round submission win.
He was much more motivated after he failed to hit weight and all the noise didn't affect him at all, so I guess Dana will have to find him someone new for Championship belt
Bad performance by one of my favorite female fighters Rose Namajunas, and I am reading in news that she is saying sorry to her fans now.
As for Tony Ferguson, I think it's just a matter of time when Dana White will kick him out off UFC, but he said he was impressed with his performance until KO, it's just his stupid mind games  

I was awed with the level of a technicality on Charles Oliveira, even though his ground game was not on par with the likes of Khabib NUrmagomedov, it was still enough to make Justin Gaethje panic and give his back on his, I also wish Dana White would give him a fight for the title belt again, he needs to be champion again, but if that fight was between Islam Makhachev then I really will say goodbye for Oliveira to have a chance to be champion again, because Islam Makhachev will surely ruin his day,

I was really upset with the way Rose Namajunas was saying in her post-fight conference, she really doesn't know what she is saying but I think after she watch the whole fight I guess she realize why many fans are so upset about her performance and she tweeted that she is really sorry on the way she did with her match,

Despite being sad that a Tony Ferguson will surely leave the UFC, I think he really needs a quality time with his family and realizing that his age is getting into him, although he really did a great performance on the standing we can not get off the fact that he lost that fight, he doesn't even have a chin that can withstand a kick like that,

100% I totally agree with you, a Charles Oliveira VS Islam Makhachev will be a lit fight and could allocate even more earnings for the UFC, well even though the UFC will not budge for this fight, I think Islam Makhachev will eventually be knocking into a championship door, he will eventually be getting a title match for the Lightweight division, so 100% I am loving that idea,

That is the weak point of Oliveira. You need to knock him to ass, before Oliveira wakes up and starts doing his job. Sort of a restart. I dont know how many times Oliveiras chin gonna hold, if he continues to use that tactics. Just check his fights. Every single fight he was dazed and knocked to ground, before he switches on "100% champions more on".

I don't mind Makhachev vs Dariush.  I would love to see how Makhachev fares vs a grappler.  But yeah..  They were supposed to fight last Feb but Dariush had an ankle injury he got during training.  The last thing I heard was it's still up in the air when Dariush is cleared to fight again.  I guess get McGregor to fight Makhachev?  Lol. 

Looking at the match ups, it looks like there are some decent underdogs in there.  And it's a decent event..  Good enough for a fight night.

Looking at the match ups, it looks like there are some decent underdogs in there.  And it's a decent event..  Good enough for a fight night.

I didn't hear any comments from Khabib Nurmagomedov about latest Oliveira vs Justin fight, but I know he is pushing and supporting Islam Makhachev.
Things are going in this direction with vacant belt so I won't be surprised if we soon see Makhachev as Lightweight champion with Khabib in his corner.
I want to see Makhachev vs Oliveira fighting for belt, but maybe Dana has some different ideas to make more money, and Chandler is making money and he did win against Ferguson.

That proves that the level of jiu jitsu of Charles Oliveira is on another level. I never see Justin lets his opponent on the ground. Justin is a top level fighter with his grappling and wrestling skills that are at the top level in Lightweight division. But when the game got in the ground. Charles Oliveira was an another kind of monster. I excited for waiting next Charles opponent.

Do you think Conor is acceptable to be Oliveira's next opponent? Because I think the big event at the end of 2022 might be Charles vs Islam

Charles Oliveira really has a good chin and I can not say if it will last for long if he keeps abusing it, just like with the Immortal Korean Zombie, and yeah that fight with Justin Gaethje on the 1st round was a wake-up call on him then Charles remembers that he isn't champion anymore so he beats the hell out of Gaethje, and yeah he doesn't really know if what submission he would use, but he came out with the simplest, but yeah I really love that fight and right now I want a Charles Oliveira VS Islam Makhachev fight.

In Russian we have say it "does not have a steel rod/bar" meaning a person bends when there are troubles (I dont know how to say it properly in English, maybe there is an idiom for that case). When Oliveira was younger, he used to tap or surrender, when everyone thought he could continue fighting. He gets hurt, and stops fighting, instead ref stops the fight.

Oliveira neglects defence and get punched hard. If he really was chinny, then he would not survive Poirier and Gaethji bombs.

Yup that was the UFC's original plan for Makhachev.  And as I already said in another post, they were supposed to fight last Feb but Dariush got an ankle injury during his training camp.  Makhachev was offered Rafael Dos Anjos as a replacement but Makhachev didn't bite.  He would've won that match up and we'd see him vs Oliveira prolly around October.  The UFC is still hell bent to have Makhachev vs Dariush tho so everything still hangs in the balance with Dariush's ankle.  Lol.

Its likely the reason he trained hard to be better on the ground. In his early he lost several fights by Submission. But today fighters refuse to engage with him in the ground like his previous with Gaethji. Every time he is tagged, he drops for few seconds on the ground to regain while Gaethji just let him get up.
If he is matched to the proteges of Khabib, he'd be in trouble.

Good points made, Charles would dream to fight Connor and I think he deserves that fight as well. I bet Dana thinks he has earnt that fight as well. I'm sure he would do anything to make that happen. Disappointing from Justin, I don't think it's lack of quality or heart, but maybe the pressure in these title fights that gets to him. I could see him beating Charles and even khabib if given another opportunity, but I doubt that will happen any time soon. With Chandler's huge knockout of Tony I see him potentially fighting makachev. Olivera has recently just said he could knock out Connor and then take on Nate Diaz in one night. Highly doubt thats something we will see but I think he may hold out for a bigger name. Obviously Dana will be having pressure from khabib for his fighter to challenge Charles, who you can't deny has had some fast finishes, but does he get the people going? Fights already over too soon ha, but seriously I think Chandler and makachev will fight, winner fights oliveria. Unless Dana can cook something up, I think Connor will be pleading for that fight

Check out recent Tony Ferguson photo few days before fight against Chandler. You know what I dont like about this picture ? There are no sparkles in Tony's eyes (and there are lots of pictures of smiling Chandler in UFC instagram). He looks old, and tired. I dont know how is he going to win with such attitude. I expect a hard beating for Tony. It will be hard to watch, as he wont tap.

Wow in the photo if it reflects more than all tiredness, you can't see anything else but that, although I also think something, could it be that it came out like this on purpose so that we all start speculating about it like that and in reality it has a unique explosiveness? Yeah but for now let's focus on the title fight in the light heavyweight championship between Texeira vs Jiri. Do you think this event will be #andstill or #andnew? The interesting thing about this fight is that they are both quite far apart in age and Texeira is the oldest champion in UFC history but we all know age is also a factor in a fight. And Jiri is known as a great knockout artist.

Similar to the opinions of much of you, I also will say that he should retire before he has brain damage and transforms into a real ape. He has a wife and a son. He should take care of himself to take care of his family. Dana should let Tony fight Conor and make his retirement pay.
