Women's Bantamweight: Holly Holm vs. Ketlen Vieira
Welterweight: Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Michel Pereira

Women's Strawweight: Polyana Viana vs. Tabatha Ricci
Middleweight: Eryk Anders vs. Park Jun-yong
Prelims
Heavyweight: Jailton Almeida vs. Parker Porter
Middleweight: Joseph Holmes vs. Alen Amedovski

Featherweight: Felipe Colares vs. Chase Hooper
Women's Strawweight: Sam Hughes vs. Elise Reed

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_Fight_Night:_Holm_vs._Vieira

It's a decent card imo.  This one looks like it's easier to parlay with most favorites winning.  I could still see a couple of underdogs who could win tho.  But there might be no pie shitters here.  And if there was one it will def be Holly Holm.

But yeah, this event could be a great one to claw some of the losses back.  We'll see...

And Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Michel Pereira could be fight of the night imho.  It could go either way.  I think Welsh is on the Pereira side.

I don't know if you guys heard but Charles Oliveira asked Tony Ferguson to have be training partners, and he refused him saying now it's not the time for that.

Yeap, I've heard that Oliveira offered Tony help, but Tony is Tony. He will keep training alone his weird Kung Fu. I might even say that Tony has wasted his talent. He could have accepted assistance from one best fighting trainers, but he kept purposefully do everything by himself. I dont know how to explain this. Either he is crazy, or "knows himself his body better", or "watched to many movie and wants to be a champ after training based on books and VHS". Crazy guy.

Maybe it is his pride. Ferguson looked like he cannot accept that he is already past his prime. He refused Oliveira's offer because he really thought that he is a serious contender and would get a rematch. Sometimes I think Oliveira is punch-drunk. He continues to challenge Khabib to come out of retirement. He believed that Chandler used his technique to knockout him out. And he was discrediting Poirier's valiant effort on the Oliveira fight while making his own excuses.

He is a champion (I still believe that he is, he did not lose his belt to Gaethji, he has lost his belt to scales lol), he is allowed to do that. And I think he challenges Khabib, I think that as a champion, he does not like when people compare him and Khabib. Like Khabib with 29-0 was more champion than he with 33-8-1. Undefeated champion always looks greater than anyone with 1 in loss record.

Tony is Tony. Doesn't realized yet that he needs Chuck Norris to win every fight of his career.

Sometimes I think Oliveira is punch-drunk. He continues to challenge Khabib to come out of retirement.

Its a long shot but if Khabib accepts it, Olivera is like winning a lottery. He wouldnt even have to win. Olivera mastered the ground fight like its his territory so he belives which he must have a chance against Khabib.

I am not super excited with this upcoming fight card and female main event, but there are few good fights I want to watch.
If you ask me for betting on this fights than I would have no idea who to pick but I will go for some underdogs this time.

Yeah, I've never had much luck when adding more than four favourites to an accumulator. It always seems to be the one with the lowest odds that loses too.

Yeah, I'm definitely on Pereira's side, although that's just because he's one of my favourite fighters in the UFC. If I was going to make a sensible prediction, it would probably be he loses on points, due to gassing out. I think he has been getting slightly better with his gas tank, at least in his last fight, but it's obviously still a huge problem. Although, I'm not going to complain too much, because when he's going full throttle he's one of the most unique fighters in the roster. Always entertaining up until he gasses.

Tony Ferguson really needs help, I really thought that fight with Michael Chandler will be his last but after that Knockout from Chandler he stand-up wanting for more and from an interview he kind of honest with what he is saying he enjoy the 1st round of the fight where he is smoking Michael Chandler on the standup and I got to admit I really think that tony will win that fight, but that unexpected kick from Chandler really has got him, and he got to admit that he doesn't have a chin anymore, so he likely need to move away from the strikes, and from that interview, I really like his mentality he wants to move forward, and continue what he wants and what he loves, and I really think his enjoyment is whats important here and he really wants to do did his own way,

I think let's just let Tony Ferguson do what he likes maybe he will be the next Glover Teixeira but I think he needs a team, or a sparring partner to do this, and yes Charles Oliveira could be a good one, but let's just wait and see maybe he has better ideas for getting that offer down,

I really respect Tony Ferguson's decision not to accept Charles Oliveira's camp for a partnership, because yes Charles Oliveira is a potential target for Tony Ferguson, and he likes to settle a score for him, let's just say I am really amazed that Tony Ferguson has come so far in the UFC without a team or a coach to guide him, he is his own coach, but I think right now he really needs help and he really needs to team if he wants the championship belt he badly be needing a team,

I honestly don't think he can be helped anymore. At 38 years old in a division where the average age is around 30, 32 fights under his belt with a number of them at a high level, and a mentality that is completely chaotic, I am hard-pressed to believe he is able to acquire new skills (technical, strategical and mental) that would push him above his current status. He might be good for a money fight or two, but I doubt he can keep up with the likes of Oliveira, Makhachev, Dariush or Fiziev.

I don't know about that. In previous fights it has held up pretty well. I mean like I said before that's probably the best kick Chandler will ever throw, and actually land. Those type of kicks don't usually land as good as it did that night. Of course that's going to drop arguably anyone, and unfortunately Ferguson wasn't given the chance to actually try, and survive it since he was knocked out cold. It was a nasty kick, which landed absolutely perfectly.

Up until that point, and maybe the takedown, Chandler was getting beat up pretty bad. Every exchange Ferguson seemed to hurt him. I don't think he's as finished as everyone is making out. I think its more that being fans we might be a little concerned about his health since he's been fighting for so long, and the way he fights usually means he's subject to quite a few beatings. However, from a skill point of view he was still threatening a very good chandler who's a contender. That says a lot to me, and I by no means think Tony is finished.

Then maybe it is time to move up. Champ and top4 in welterweight looks unachievable for Tony, but with other fighters he surely can compete.

Does anyone know, does Tony cut weight? His picture in wikipedia shows that he was rather fatty back in old good Ultimate Fighter season 13 times. Moreover, When he participated in TV show, he was a welterweight.

Oh! sorry, I never included that I really never think him to be champion with the level of competition in the Lightweight Division, even though there is no reigning champion, I think that Tony Ferguson may not reach the top 6 in that division, and yes, he really wants to be the best so he might look at the championship fights, but I guess the money fight is what is Tony Ferguson is needing right now, I think he can have a fight with Nate Diaz, that would be a crowd favorite or a Conor McGregor, or even a Raphael Dos Anjos fight but yes, he can not go beyond that boundaries anymore, but who knows if he can go and went Glover Teixeira style but not really counting that much,

I don't know about that. In previous fights it has held up pretty well. I mean like I said before that's probably the best kick Chandler will ever throw, and actually land. For me, I think Ferguson doesn't have a good chin anymore, just like Glover Teixeira that really needs to protect his chin, Tony Ferguson is like that, and that is why Michael Chandler from that 1 kick KOe'd Tony Ferguson, as you have said "Those type of kicks don't usually land as good as it did that night" I really think that is because Ferguson's chin is not that solid anymore, he may be good at the stand-up and yes Chandler is pressured by that but the problem with Ferguson, he doesn't know how to execute the finisher, or how he could finish Chandler, and in my opinion, Ferguson really needs a good team if he wants to continue fighting in the UFC, he really needs a fighting partner,

Dunno..  I'm back and forth with Pereira and Ponz.  I think it's gonna be a really close fight.  And rightly so, the bookies lined it very close.  So yeah, but I feel like Ponz might be the guy.  He'll bring the pressure on Periera quite a bit and as you said we've seen Pereira slow down a bit later in most of his fights.  Ponz has also fought the better competition too.  But still dunno...  Ask me again later in the week.  Lol.

"Those type of kicks don't usually land as good as it did that night" I really think that is because Ferguson's chin is not that solid anymore
Yeah, I mainly say that because usually they don't connect that well. Not that they don't happen, but that the fighters are usually moving away enough to mitigate the actual force. You could see that kick not only landed perfectly, but was also executed perfectly right to the flick of the toes. It was a just a very unlikely event, matched with the speed to surprise, and the fact that Tony wasn't expecting it at all, is the reason he was absolutely folded.

I'll admit it, I was worried for him. He didn't get up for quite some time, and appeared to be out for some time. However, I don't think he's finished as a fighter, and I do think he has demonstrated more than this fight to justify saying he has a decent chin. I've never seen anyone take a beating as much as him, except Kattar in the Max Holloway fight.

Lot of talks around Charles Oliveira now, Joe Rogan thinks he was screwed at UFC 274 with that decision, and Daniel Cornier thinks Oliveira could bring back Kahbib from retirement, but I doubt this will happen.

Joe Rogan was skeptical that the digital weighing scale that fighters use before their real weigh in was tampered. We cannot be certain if this is true, however, similar to what I have said before, Charlie Olives did not have problems with weight before the fight. He was on weight according to the digital weighing scale he used.

During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan gave his thoughts on Oliveira missing weight before UFC 274.

“He’s a very, very nice guy, and he got screwed in his last fight,” Rogan said of Oliveira. “There was some shenanigans with the scale. Some people messed with the scale. Here’s a problem these digital scales, foreign fighters- they use kilograms. And in America, obviously, we use pounds, right… So, these scales are calibrated and then the foreign fighters would reset the scale so they could switch it back to kilograms. So it fu*ked up the whole calibration. And so he would weigh in the night before the weigh-ins, and he was like, ‘oh, I’m good to go.’ And then in the morning, he goes and shows up for the weight cut and it’s a pound plus off and that is directly related to this calibration issue.”

It appears no one is talking about the biggest underdogs for this fight card hehehehehe. Parker Porter might be much heavier for his opponent, also Chase Hooper might be much bigger for his opponent hehehe. There is also Polyana Viana who can beat men.

And it looks like Conor McGregor is can be the next opponent of Makachev because fighting against The Notorius its like getting  jackpot.

Wasnt Conor saying that he was preparing for a fight in next weight division ? To welterweight. That is wants to a title fight against Usman. Recent McGregor pictures shows that he is bulking right now. However, Usman was mentioning something about his boxing fight against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (and every one was laughing about Usmans boxing training video). Canelo at first was walking with his nose up, saying that Usman is not his level, but after taking beating from Dmitri Bivol, will be chasing Bivol for a rematch (which makes fight Usman vs Canelo likely not to happen).
It is that Bivol was not going to lose the opportunity, besides, Canelo seemed very confident and that is something very bad in boxing, the truth is that Bivol came out with such a great attitude that he proved to have a much higher level than him. However, now Bivol will open many doors, this shows that many Russian athletes are at a high level that for now they are showing it to the world.

What if I imagined this scenario, I wonder now what will happen with the meeting with GGG, how will everything begin to develop? Could it be that there is the same interest in the meeting between Canelo and GGG? since the loss of Cinnamon was something that disappointed many.

During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan gave his thoughts on Oliveira missing weight before UFC 274.

Strange explanation. That could be true, if Charles was cutting weight at home in Brazil. But fighters arrive in a week or two and prepare for the fight. Charles competes on such a high level, and his team could not find scales with pounds or could not calibrate kg to lbs before fight? This 200gramm difference could appear due to rounding after calculation or calibration. But once again, you are a champ in worlds best promotion, you have team, you probably have ufc staff for support around, you have a title fight and fail at such thing? On the scales, Charles did not looked like he was desperately surprised that he did not make weight. I believe there is something shady with situation.

I've never seen anyone take a beating as much as him, except Kattar in the Max Holloway fight.

The fact that Tony Ferguson isn't really aware that the kick was coming, and that kick was not in the Arsenal of Michael Chandler at all is not usually been seen him doing it, or this is really the 1st time he has done that, that is why it added up more impact that Tony is not really completely aware, and we could see Tony Ferguson, when he wakes up he doesn't remember what happened to him because he really doesn't expect that kick and we can say that Chandler has a thing of a way to Stop Ferguson because he was dominating the stand-up very well,

Tony Ferguson was really out cold, from that kick and it made me realize that Ferguson, doesn't have a great chin anymore, but I respect his firey determination to still continue, the fighters when they lose hard in a fight it will never be the same, but not Tony Ferguson, he really has the mentality of warriors and I like that about him,

Polyana Viana looks gorgeous, and I have seen that report when Polyana Viana was mugged, she doesn't hesitate and busted that mugger's face, Polyana Viana is a badass and can surely beat up a guy when he wants to, surely I will make my pick for this fight, Polyana Viana can beat a guy is a 100% legit warrior, I guess after that incident Colby Covington will surely think twice if he's going to cheat her,

I thought fighters get weighed twice on weighing day? Didn't one of the fighters recently confirm that by saying they weigh backstage, even in front of the commission, and then come out, and weigh on the proper scales that we all get to watch. There might be a slight calibration error with those not being the exact same, but to be honest I'm not sure if I buy the whole thing. Could it just be he missed weight, and that's it? I know Justin claimed that the weighing scales was what he was expecting, and didn't differ, but I suppose you have to take that with a pinch of salt, since he's going to be trying to get in the head of Olivera at that point.

I'm not sure what to think about the whole situation, although I think it goes without saying that Joe Rogan has a ton of different theories on all sorts of things, and isn't afraid to voice his opinions, and take sides in conspiracy theories. While I do like him, he's not always credible.

I'm glad Pereira is moving up the cards. It wasn't long ago that he wasn't even on the main card. He's not the best fighter in the world but he's one of the most entertaining with his crazy Street Fighter moves and always puts on a good show. Hopefully he doesn't do something reckless and fuck up as that's the downside of some of those crazy backflip moves he does which are mostly just for show. I think he's getting better as a fighter though.
